Haris the prophet of Bangsa M’sia speaks from the mountain
UPDATE: Hannah Yeoh wanted to abolish classification of Chinese and Indian races. Great, let’s just have TWO groups then, one group Bumiputera, one group non-Bumiputera. Thus racism is ended (the DAP solution) — no more Indian race, no more Chinese race, just bumiputeraism which is groupism, a separate thing altogether.
I shall take that to be the DAP’s position (no to Chinese, no to Indian, yes to non-Bumiputera label) unless they step forward to refute Haris. – 4.18pm
Haris Ibrahim, who created Anything But Umno and is busy running the ABU campaign, a couple of days ago blogged ‘Jibby, stick your bloody 1Malaysia up your bloody arse!‘
Excerpt below of the content of Haris’ posting:
“Why are the Siamese in Kedah Bumiputra and these [two Punjabi] kids not?
I am sick and tired of this bloody divide and bloody rule!
Who the hell are you, Jibby, to decide who is Bumiputra and who is not?
Damn all politicians on both sides of the divide who daren’t tackle this issue head on, who continue to pander to race because UMNO / BN make it the order of the day.
And damn all you Malaysians who continue to accept this bloody divisive categorisation.”
Haris is disappointed with politicians, both BN and Pakatan, who “daren’t tackle this issue head on”.
Lim Guan Eng last week (in a different and separate setting, i.e. anti-Lynas) lambasted: “Ini Umno tak payah cakap lah”.
I’d like to borrow his phraseology nonetheless. Guan Eng’s stricture can be applicable to Haris’ hope that “this bloody divisive categorisation” of bumiputera and non-bumiputera is tackled. In other words, “Ini Umno tak payah cakap lah” or no cause to bank on Umno to address Haris’ disgruntlement.
No reason to pin any hope on the rest of BN either since the satellite parties are constantly dismissed by the ABU-ers as “prostitutes” and “running dogs” to Umno.
Hence and quite naturally, succour must come from Pakatan.
How to get rid of the ‘bumiputera’ and ‘non’ category division that ABU supporters and followers of Haris’ other pet project Saya Anak Bangsa Malaysia (SABM) are as equally “bloody” “sick and tired of”.
Since we’ve written off Umno and BN, it remains with the Pakatan politicians to answer Haris’ demand that this issue be tackled.
Tackled by Pakatan so that we can achieve the ‘Malaysian First’ promise, since Haris is already convinced that Najib and BN’s 1Malaysia is an utter failure.
Well … ready to walk your talk? Are Haris’ DAP proteges game and up to the challenge of tackling the issue head on?
Perhaps as mentor, Haris could persuade Hannah Yeoh to, like his good self, now openly declare that she rejects the label and operation of bumiputera-ism.
But don’t say one thing to a Chinese audience and then put on your tudung and say another thing to a Malay audience in the mosque, ya?
And don’t hide what you say to the NEP-aggrieved Chinese audience by concealing the same message from the awed (i.e. impressed by the mesra-Islam tudung-wearing act) Malay audience.
Malaysian Malaysia lah. Same treatment for all, same statement to all regardless of race.
Colour blind Haris Ibrahim rejects the Bumiputera box. What about DAP?
All Hannah has to do is tweet which she does all the time anyway and most prolifically. With a single tweet, she can already reach 41,000 ears and among them even media editors who are her Twitter followers.
Further retweets by the flock of 41,000 would create a massive multiplier effect.
As Haris lamented, our politicians sadly “continue to pander to race”.
To break this pandering, the impetus has to necessarily kickstart from Haris’ own camp. The change begins with his Anak Bangsa Malaysia coterie.
So how about it? Jom Ubah.
Just a tweet of about a dozen words from Hannah Yeoh clearly rejecting the divisive Bumiputera categorisation – just like how she rejected ‘Indian’ as the race of her baby because “racism” (DAP definition) is divisive – and say how this abolishment of Bumiputera as proposed by Haris is to be achieved.
