Najib dihentam Los Angeles Times gara-gara Kristian rasa terkilan

July 17, 2012 at 8:19 pm 29 comments

In Malaysia, ruling party uses Islamic values to bolster support‘, tajuk berita Los Angeles Times (13 Julai 2012).

“the government has been working overtime to solidify its support among the country’s Muslim Malay majority. And one way it has done that, analysts said, is by fanning fear of secularism and the spread of religions other than Islam“.

Siapa agaknya si penganalisa politik ditemubual suratkhabar LAT itu yang mengatakan kerajaan sedang sibuk memomokkan agama-agama lain? ["fanning fear of ... the spread of (other) religions"]

Hannah Yeoh berupa sesumpah masuk masjid

“Malaysia is very much fighting for its soul. Governments, for the sake of order and stability, are equating politics with faith. The good news is that many young Malays are not falling for this.”

Selang sehari LAT menerbitkan ceritadi atas, The Economist pula menyiarkan sebuah rencana tentang “Harassment of pro-democracy activists in Malaysia reveals a worrying undercurrent of racism”.

“Vote against BN is a vote for Jesus”. “BN is an anti Christ agent”. “Christians are being discriminated and rights in constitutions denied”.

Blogger Eddy Daud beberapa hari lepas telah mematahkan mitos Kim Guan Eng “went to prison for a Malay family”.

tetapi umno cuba menakutkan melayu bahawa kononya bangsa india dan cina berkomplot untuk menjatuhkan melayu, membina kuil, tokong, gereja, kubur untuk mencabar islam, menghapos raja, memilih ambiga hindu sebagai pm, dan pelbagai cerita karut lagi.

    Dave,

Please stop lying. UMNO does not try to incite the Malays. Rather, it tells Malays point blank that once political power is gone, it is gone with the wind. I mean every Malays realise they can’t trust DAP that maintains a very anti-Malay attitude.

But you are right. There are many who thrive by creating imaginary enemy. What better way to keep us apart than keep insisting on separate school system.

Actually UMNO did not say about the end of Raja-raja or things like gereja or challenge to Islam. Looking at DAP’s antic and its role that led to May 13, 1969, then I know the fear is genuine among Malays.

The thing with you is that you refuse to “know” the Malays.

secondly, i know that many malays do not think like you do. but you think they all act n believe in one bloc. and you also believe that the chinese all act n believe in one bloc so you hit them with one brush. every issue, you try to racialise everything n make it as if its malay vs chinese. simplistic thinking.

setiap kali Melayu berkata pasal kepentingan Melayu dan hak hak Melayu … bangsa lain akan kata Melayu itu rasis … kamu jangan ingat Melayu akan berdiam diri kalau diusik … Melayu tetap Melayu … suka berlembut, menghormati tetamu, menghormati orang lain. TAPI jangan sampai Melayu dipijak, jgn sampai Melayu di bodohkan.

Its a blessed i gez, bila BN kalau teruk masa PRU12 yang lepas sbb selepas tu kita dapat lihat the true colors about bangsa lain …. termasuk bangsa Melayu sendiri yang tak sedar diri.

        Dave,
U think i dont read DAP blogs… u think i didnt no what the chinese paper n Indian paper said about Malay n rasis .. peeelllezzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

u guys are million times more racist than the Malay …

LA-LA Times will appeal to its own demographic just like Kosmo, Utusan, The Star and M-Kini have influence over their own respective demographics. There is a direct correlation to the scientific study that found most human beings use less than 7% of their actual brain power.

I laugh every time I see Dave comment. He is a mirror of precisely the folks he criticizes. Different label, same BS.

    Dave,

Do not split hairs. I never said all Malays think like me. What I said is that DAP is champion when it comes to bashing malays. It consistently maintains a very anti malay attitude.

Of course, life is easier with PAS ‘kowtowing” to it. PAS may not want to realise how its influence among Malays take a drastic drop as it is perceived selling Islam for material benefits.

Malay political power, err…..its gone a long time ago. 3 parties fighting for the Malay vote bank. What Malay power ? The Americans, whether they back Najib or Anwar, its all about their own self interest. If Najib bows to their agenda, well and good. If Najib refuses, there’s always Anwar to do the dirty work. Either way, the Americans win.

        Chipping in my 2 sen.

Deists are not atheists. USA is today still “God country”. I doubt an atheist can win an American presidential election under even the current circumstances as Amerika has a bible belt voting bloc.

As it is, Mitt Romney’s non-mainstream Christianity (he’s Mormon) is a controversial issue this round.

can agree. my point is not all american are right wing fanatics, some presidents were not christian, their speech and writing denote that they were probably a deist, atheist or agnostic, that is why their constitution have no mention of god, but unalienable rights. we rarely see a religious person working on rights.

Okaylah Dave & Shamsul, you both are macholah. Semua tahu Malaysian. Now what you know how has that benefited the common folk because we are still trying to prove what, if and what should be only because we continue to argue endlessly who is better.

I believe Helen did not start this blog just to bantai DAP, but rather enlighten us how DAP has been running their borrowed agenda from BN because they realize we love to fight and argue between us without any consensus amongst us for what the regular joe/jane in Malaysia is entitled to.

This does not need main media or alternative media but only the ability to act consciously as and when it effects and concerns our Malaysians irrespective of their origin. Why do we keep fighting political battles for BN/PR when we fail to acknowledge the humanity and reality for our fellow Malaysians who is your fellow brethen.

Okaylah jangan gaduh sesama kita ini, biar sahaja apa yang patut untuk sekalian walaupun kita kena buat pengorbanan untuk mencapai matlamat rakyat demi keperikemanusian in the current state, not macam biasa cakap pasal sejarah yang luput.

Helen, see this https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/us.html. What does this show you? Practicality is something that we need to gauge for ourselves not how is drawn out to be for how it is portrayed unless we wake up to the reality rather than being caught in a time wasp.

    malaysian in New york,

I am not arguing for the sake opf arguing. Rather I want to defend the Malays who are accused of racism simply for defending their rights.

No prize for guessing who often accuse malays on racism. As for history, a little dose of history is required to remind people not to ‘lupa diri’

Shamsul, no one here would be accusing common folk Malays as racist if they are in their right mind, but we rather keep getting fooled with the politicans and the elites’ agenda whether it is Malay, Chinese, Indian or lain lain to ensure the disparity amongst us is driven along religion, race, and origin as oppose to our original Malaysian culture.

Please do and defend any rights not just by echoing or rather aping these politicians but rather what should be fair and just in the current scenario amongst Malaysians. This is a tall order for politically and agenda based brainwashed mentality, but we need to start somewhere. Don’t we?

then i believe you are oblivious on many nasty slanders accused on malays.

Your advice is good. unfortunately to the wrong target. Try say that to DAP. It goes on and on attacking the Malays by insinuating that constitution favours the Malays while forgetting they( non malays ) are accorded citizenships.

They accuse the Malays on racism but say nothing on rampant discrimination in private sector. they accuse any malay who tries to defend Malayss rights as racist but say any non malay who voice displeasure as only using his rights.
