Trivia: Pulau Pitcairn terkenal kerana cerita ‘Mutiny on the Bounty’.

The Great Canadian Flag Debate

Sabah satu jalur, Sarawak satu jalur

Bendera kebangsaan Malaysia pun pernah diubah suai. Ia mempunyai 11 jalur sewaktu melambangkan Malaya tetapi ditambah lagi 3 jalur tatkala terbentuknya Malaysia.

Hi Helen..sorry to divert a bit.The hot topic in Penang over the last few days is the hypocritical behaviour of the Dear Leader on the subject of freedom of assembly and speech. Pakatan loving on-line media don’t seem to report such news at all. Had this happened at any BN-ruled state, this will be the headline news for days.

Perhaps you should highlight this yet another case of blatant hypocrisy by the Dear Leader and Pakatan.

    ——————————————————————–

GEORGE TOWN: Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng has threatened to use the illegal gathering laws on state Barisan Nasional leaders for their alleged illegal ceramah at the Esplanade grounds.

“If they do it (illegal gathering) again, we’ll inform the police and MPPP to take action.”

Accusing Barisan of resorting to an illegal gathering after a war of words had broken out between Pakatan Rakyat and Barisan supporters at the venue near the Speaker’s Square, Lim claimed the entire event was in the first place, illegal.

Its up to them whether they want to hoist, drape or wave whatever flag they come across. But during the event, we can see a lot of leaflets with no jalur gemilang, yes saka were picture being distributed. And for me this is wrong and tantamount to desecrating our national flag albeit in subtle way.

This has been reported in many blogs.

One of the thing that pisses me off is that how haters of the Jalur Gemilang are keen to say that it is just a copy of the American “Stars and Stripes.”

I seriously thought they had a better alternative. It turns out they copied the flag of Indonesia, the only country to have ever attacked Malaysia with the intention of conquest, that wanted to deny us our freedom. Remember the Konfrontasi?

If nothing else, I am pissed off with the stupidity of these people. Bodoh tak bertempat!

Pre-Independence, the leftist Malay freedom fighters such as Dr Burhanuddin al-Helmy (3rd president of PAS) and others were supportive of the idea for semenanjung becoming a part of Indonesia Raya.

Brunei toyed with the idea of merging with Malaya, along with S’pore, Sabah & S’wak in 1963, but backed off at the last minute. The twists and turns of history.

We don’t necessarily have to see the design as copying Indonesia. We can just say we’re returning to our roots (see Umno flag below).

But, as many have pointed out, their timing sucked. Plus, what were their reasons to want to change the Jalur Gemilang? Half-baked reasoning at best. Memang dasar cari perhatian dengan buat kurang ajar.

Timing is essential in courting controversy. If they unfurled their red-white flag on any other of the 364 days, nobody would have paid attention.

This is the most caca merba Merdeka ever! The alternative flag just adds to the whole chaos.

    kesimpulannya:

Jangan kata kanak-kanak, orang dewasa pun payah melukis.

Budak tadika pun tahu melukis.

The lawyers, no doubt will make a lot of money, with cases involving those Chinese misfits who undoubted will be charged in court. The spin doctors too will have a field day, with charges like “the government is trampling on freedom of expression” by charging those Chinese misfits in court.

The religious spooks of the Opposition parties too will have their share of the “meat”. They will cry that the government is cruel, tyrannical etc. With their political capital exhausted, this will no doubt be welcome as much needed replenishment.

I think it is a premeditated anti-national act designed to provoke hatred among us Malaysians. The culprit behind the unfurling of the pre-independent flag and that pamphlet must be caught and punished.

Pasca Merdeka ke Lima Puluh Lima

    September mengintai agenda semalam
dengan sebelah mata tertutup dipagari jemari
tahun ini kaki September dibasahi air mata Ogos
tak ada pesta kembang api jelang tengah malam
mempamit Ogos bersama sayup teriakan merdeka
    jalur gemilang, begitu pantaskah dipinggirkan?

Lima puluh lima tahun bukan sekadar jeda panjang
ia siksa dengkuran teman sebantal yang makin kuat
ia pekung hancing kencing atas selimut dan tilam
ia gangguan kutu bawaan yang menghisap darah
lima puluh lima tahun telah menyingkap kebiadapan
betapa bangsatnya, mereka yang tak mengenang budi.

Another angle we need to look at in the case of flag incident is the sensitivity of our Sabah and Sarawak brothers and sisters, I hear that they are very upset with this act of ultimate stupidity and disrespect. I think PKR and Pakatan will be hard pressed to explain this incident to the people of Sabah and Sarawak.

While the leaders of Pakatoons distanced themselves from this incident, the culprit is a key leader of PKR. They cannot just wash their hands off.

Ambiga meanwhile maintains her deafening silence.
When some Army veterens did the butt dance and hawkers set up burger stalls, she spun the story and frame it into a heated racial issue that was amplified by Pakatan leaders. No less persona than the Dear Leader accused BN of extreme insensitivity and racism.

In the first place, why there has to be a Janji Demokrasi at this time? Why sully and politicise the Merdeka celebration with such idiotic stunts?

I think the Pakatan’s (which by default the Bersih’s) agenda is to organize as many street demos and incidents as possible to keep up the pressure on govt and create the perception that Pakatan is going to win the next GE. And when they get thrashed in the GE, they will accuse BN of massive vote rigging. Then they will resort to street demos to bring down the BN govt.

I guess the next GE will be very very ugly, during the campaign as well as after the results are announced. I hope Najib understands Pakatan’s devious strategy and prepare accordingly by having independent, foreign observers (not the “independent” monitors that Pakatan is fond of).

Sang saka putih merah menjadi panji pejuang Jawa ( kemudiannya Indonesia ) melawan Belanda.

Mungkin saya didalam ‘utopia’ saya sendiri tetapi saya percaya didalam setiap hati warganegara Malaysia berkibar Jalur Gemilang.
