Geng Khalid

Sila rujuk blog Gelagat Anwar (klik tajuk atas).

Mari pula kita meninjau pendekatan The Star yang senantiasa membelakangkan orang MCA.

Famous4(Ikut arah jam): Ketua Beliawanis MCA Tee Hooi Ling (berbaju putih), kaunsilor Ipoh parti Gerakan Ceylyn Tay, bendahari Beliawanis MCA Jessica Lai dan ketua Beliawanis MCA Selangor Jessie Ooi

A big, BIG presence in The Star pages

Apa agenda sulit The Star?

.

The Star sepanjang ‘past year’.

Parti malas kerja!

Tak pernah pun dikhabarkan di akhbar The Star bahawa wakil MCA ada nampak kelibatnya.

***  ***  ***

Dan janganlah Si Star begitu yakin otak para pemimpin BN yang lain itu sama saiznya dengan sebiji kacang (dinosaurs have brain the size of a walnut).

    Helen…

Boringlah asyik cerita ceriti Hannah Yeoh..i will not give a second look on her…kalau dibandingkan hannah with the timbalan menteri, i am sure 10:1 favorite, the timbalan menteri will win…how come the star tak bagi good coverage on her?

The Star is NEVER bored of HY. Must be a Christian agenda.

Star coverage of the Timbalan Menteri fairly good.

However Beliawanis memang dianak-tirikan. Beliawanis put out a press statement in the MCA website. But The Star tak layan. Just as the paper tak layan the Ketua Wanita MCA when she talked about the amendment to the Standing Order in Parliament.

Beliawanis complained “Beliawanis MCA is also dismayed that Gan Pei Nei …” (ref. link to press statement). There are 474 Google search results on Gan Pei Nei in (PKR Adun) in The Star compared to only 30 search results for ‘Tee Hooi Ling’ (Beliawanis chief).

    Kak Helen,

You seem to have lost scent of the plot or are inadvertently out of the loop or blithely unaware of the scheming or innocently besotted with the glam and bling bling gal or naively blinkered to reality..whichever your pick.

Observant analysts of the local political scene would concur with either one of my three assumptions (all plausible although seemingly impossible).

    a. BN wins but Malaysia is irretrievably fractured along a racial faultline with a Malay Chinese faceoff with the potential risk of an ethnic temblor considerably enhanced

    b. PR wins but Malaysia to trundle and crumble along the Egyptian highway to damnation (more on this in another time, another place)

    c. BN triumphs but political gymnastics, sectarian somersaults and realpolitik contortions dictate a unity coalition with the DAP supplanting the MCA and PAS and PKR (or a rump of it) being left to endure the frostbite alone or together sans their Chinese landlord’s roof and hearth after being jilted once again at the altar.

Whither the Star in all the above? They are banking on number three, depositing their faith in realpolitik and hoping to cash out as “kingmakers” and calling for their pound of flesh at the opportune moment after years of sharpening their blades on the anvil of angst.

What is happening on the Malaysian political scene amongst the Chinese is pretty straightforward: they have renounced the Social Contract and by default, much of the provisions of the 1957 Constitution. They are gambling on electoral pressure to wangle concessions, betting heavily on the presumption that a Malay dominant government would not want to wager economic prosperity at the negotiating table but would rather fritter away political chips for the sake of harmony.. Its a huge bet, one fraught with risks, but the Chinese are reverting to their inborn trait: gambling on the unknown premised on self-perceived superiority of foresight. Alas, such is the hubris of the arrogant, that they dont deign to reflect that their vainglorious quest for dominance is the very Nemesis they so fear !

If (c) eventuates (i have heard of unconfirmed whispers of DAP-UMNO rendezvouses), it would mean the death knell for Malay political power, and the end of Malaysia as we know it with a distinct possibility of the federation splintering into the autonomous parts of yore.

Either (b) or (c) is a no-win situation cos each of them are nothing but different inclines of the same slippery slope to collective perdition.

    (a) remains the most delectable of the unpalatable simply because a seismic shake once in a while would do world of good to shake the cobwebs off self-deluded illusions of harmony, give and take blah blah blah.It offers the visceral joy of freedom, the tantalising glimpse of reclaiming Tanah Melayu, the beguiling charm of a land untainted by alien horrors. I relish its possibility more than anything else for It would ultimately be the rude awakening call to the Malays that their bicker at their own peril, lighting the byre of enmity for self-immolation. And yes, history has proven time and again that no ethnic worth its salt would entertain the possibility of its self-inflicted extinction unless we Malays have sunk so deep into the blackhole of madness that we are beyond the light of redemption.

I am just wondering why Our Lady of Subang Jaya was selected to be the International Secretary? One would think that she would be the right candidate to head the Christian Taliban Bureau. Perhaps it is Chong Eng’s way of telling her not to meddle in the internal matters and just focus on international issues.

BTW, forget about Nurul. If Pakatan forms the Fed govt and if there is a woman PM, HY will be the one. I am already thinking of starting a FB page – “Hannah Yeoh for PM!”….

if Hannah Y still has a decent working brain, she should send her kids to a vernacular school, Chinese or Indian, and learn some languages other than English. the world is going to be a very different place 20 years from now, China, India, Indonesia, Korea, Vietnam, Brazil, and those Latin American countries now on the rise that speak Spanish, not to mention the Gulf Arab states. but pity her children, they will grow up isolated from the rest of the world because their parents still think the world is still going to be Anglophile. pity them. Malaysian First = English speaking. pity these people, pity these Malaysian First crowd.

          Wrong!

By the time her kids are of schoolgoing age, the DAP Firsters would have managed to cause Chinese schools to be abolished.

that would be a real disaster not only for the Chinese, but also other Malaysians, depriving children the opportunity to learn Chinese.

also, if that’s the case, Tamil schools will be gone as well. and our national schools could well become First Schools, the Malay language also gone.

            a national disaster.
