Nanti tiba giliran Melayu lah

Saya sedang membuat tinjauan rambang — soalan: Adakah anda kenal siapa Yu Chok Tow?

Ataupun pernahkah anda tengok gambarnya?

Tidak? Takpe, nanti saya bagi tahu.

Biar kita bincang tentang jaguh badminton negara, Lee Chong Wei, terlebih dahulu.

I’m no political tool, says badminton champ‘. Wira sukan pun mereka cemuh. Nak tahu kenapa?

  • Teo Nie Ching-DAP  (1,430)
  • Teresa Kok-DAP  (1,390)
  • Nurul Izzah Anwar-PKR  (583)
  • Gan Pei Nei-PKR  (481)

Ketua Wanita MCA hanya disebut 177 kali.

Mahupun ia akhbar milik MCA, namun ia nampaknya kurang daya inisiatif mahu menjaga imej orang MCA.

  1. Helen,

The Dapster are regressing. I am very proud of LCW and other towering Malaysian in sports. Whether they are known as Mokhtar Dahari, Santokh Singh or Soh Chin Ann. Sports evokes extreme pride and Dapsters know that they will not doing well if peoples are in the state of euphoria and full of pride.

For that matter I really pity the opposition leaders in this country as they cannot watch F1 in Sepang for fear of endorsing TunM legacy, watching Harimau Malaya in action for fear of endorsing government tool to make rakyat happier or watching Badai Semalam Show in Istana Budaya for fear of being labelled endorsing government propaganda.

Susah betul to be opposition leaders. They are being held hostage by their own creation. They have to be unhappy with everything and provoke same level of unhappiness among their followers. Baru boleh cari makan as opposition.

No way I want to trap myself with this as life is short and I want to live to the fullest. Why should I be unhappy of someone who is doing a lot to his country like LCW and others. Viva LCW!!!

  2. True, the star even give space for lim gua eng to brag that penang got some obscure lievable city status and beat kuala lumpur..i try to stop buying star but i like to buy their saturday edition fr content..other days..nst, metro or new media but i also sneak into malaysiakini and malaysian insider for a dose of DAPSTER venomous comments to remind me why i cannot allow these peopke to control the country. strange that these dapster are vividly determined to shut themselves from tne mainstream media..in the process they segrgate themsekves from the mainstream people..the malays…

    1. The only good thing about the Star was their horse racing pages. Now that the Star no longer has the horse racing pages, they are back to being rubbish.

  3. Helen,

Precisely. Sometimes I wonder what the hell MCA is doing with STAR. Why on earth allows massive coverage on DAP and its views.

One example is STAR publishing Dr azmi sharom’s view whom I know often belittling UMNO. The guy said students occupying a sction of Dataran Merdeka as ” a cute symbol of bravery..”

What on earth this guy was rambling about. Showing a tombstone to a more elder people is already a sign of “kurang ajar”. What more Najib is the head of govt.

This is the thinking that STAR is promoting.

As for another clash between Malays and chinese, I am afraid it is bound to take place. And the culprit is DAP that instigates the Chinese that they are 2nd class citizens.

Helen, do advise the Chinese that they are the loser if tolerates DAP’s antics.

    1. Sham, you should know by now that the people at the helm of the Star are anglophiles. Wong Chun Wai is one of them. He admitted himself that he is a banana, so what did you expect from him ?

  4. Straw man argument.

Why not Star search Michael Chong? got 1400 result

Koh Tsu Koon gets 3600 results

    Ong ka ting about 2500

    1. Of course these coverimg often include opposition issues in the article.possibly about lime guan eng or some DAPSTER warlord whacking BN chinese leaders..look at shafiee afdal..the star never talked abouth him but now willing to show him and mistress on front page..the star with its silly news about sex and scandals makes it like a gossipmongerer…even metro have lots community news regarding the lower class often overlooked by premium newspapers like the star that are pj centric(i really hate their inteviews of expats that take quite alot of pages).utusan also talk alot about anwar ibrahim…does this mean utusan anwar friendly?

  5. These people if possible would like to see failure of any Malaysian products be it a car, building or individuals . Such a bad hate politics. They would gripe and complain at anything((even though they may have the best of all comforts).
Would they not like it if Malaysia is thriving and successful?

  6. Forrescat,

Utusan mentions a lot on anwar. But i am afraid all comments on anwar are not that flattery.

STAR on the other hand is owned by MCA but is too obvious promoting PR. I do not know what it is but I believe it is stupid for a party like MCA to allow such nonsense.

Only recently Dr Chua up his ante on DAP. And i believe he is doing a good job. But of course STAR thinks differently. Why on earth for example, STAR never try to publish what Dr ridhuan tee wrote.

  7. Helen, i believe a lot more articles on obscure MCA peronalities can be gleaned from vernacular chinese papers and new media…

    1. True, Eddie.

It’s quite impossible to get ‘cutting edge’ articles about MCA in The Star. Which is disappointing for those of us who need up-to-date & in-depth political info.

The irony is that the paper is stuck with its negative reputation as a party appendage and mouthpiece but yet even on that score also it fails to deliver.

If Datuk Yu is an “obscure MCA personality”, whose fault is that? The Star gives Teo Nie Ching 10x the coverage it gives to the Wanita MCA president. Ditto Teresa, Hannah whom Star editors follow on Twitter.

With such inclinations, the paper might as well rebadge as The Rockette.

  8. and they say that malaysia media are not fair. not justified. and one sided.

Nik, I believe the staff have little sympathy for MCA (parallel situation: some civil servants are pro-PAS). — Helen

  9. Helen…did also note how the Edge and even the Malay Mail (under the control of Terence Fernandez) are now have started to put out fabricated “news” to undermine BN ?

    1. when you have a bunch of anglophiles at the helm of these 2 media outlets, what did you expect ? Did you know that the people at the helm of these 2 media outlets, and other similar papers, are bananas and coconuts, people who know next to nothing of their own culture and heritage ? people who don’t even know their own mother tongue ?

    2. If Terence is doing that, he must be a real bastard. He started out as a poor Indian boy and was given the big break by the old Malay Mail. I am not surprised there are so many of his ilk in Malaysian journalism.

      1. Hussin, he has always been pro-PR even during his the Sun days. Apparently he is close to some DAP leaders so that’s why he received many tips from insiders about the issues in the local councils. But after 2008 he did not highlight any issues at all though we all know things are not right in MPPJ, MPSA and others.

  10. Hi Helen! I know it’s been a while to write comments, but I do read it almost everyday without fail. Been very busy. But this one, I have to. I cheer LCW and shut the f***** up DAPsters!

So nice to hear from you :) — Helen

  11. and Calvin, why call those DAP people DAPsters ? they are not DAPsters, they are DAPthugs. and as for Komtar Gestapo, pluuuuuleez, that’s an overstatement. they are nowhere near the Gestapo. they are just hooligans. so from now on you should call them the Komtar Hooligans.

    1. Very true. Many journalists in the Star are actually DAP supporters. Either that or they are pro-Christians with a blinkered view of how things should be run in Malaysia.

  12. Helen, sometimes I wonder how you can be sane after reading the comments on those site. And you do it all the time!!! If I want to be angry, I’d go there and read those comments. But who wants to be angry, Jeez, you are a very strong woman, Very.

    1. Rakesh,

Like many Chinese of my generation (those not living in Johor or the other BN bastions), it was almost automatic to grow up being anti-establishment. Which for a Chinese equates DAP. That’s why regular readers of this blog would know that I’ve never voted BN in my life.

(I’m presuming a number of west coast Malays grew up with the same take-for-grantedness vis-a-vis Umno).

All this while DAP has never tasted power — as in having control of govt machinery. With 2008 marking the first time, those of us who do not think like DAPsters have gotten a glimpse what ugliness DAP is capable of when it has got power.

If we look at the Parliamentary standing (chart here) over the last decades, we can see that the seats won by MCA & DAP are inversely correlated.

When MCA has more seats, DAP has less. When MCA has less, DAP has more. In the last 3 GEs – 1995, 1999, 2004 – MCA won triple the number of seats of DAP. Yet when MCA was strong & DAP was weak, MCA was never this arrogant or so ruthless as to want to finish off its chief rival.

In 2008, DAP won only double MCA’s seats & we can already see the behaviour of the party, their politicians & their supporters now. It’s bloodlust — DAP is led by a “streetfighter” (I have other terms in mind but unlike the DAPsters & their no limits name-calling, we’re more polite & refrain from uttering them).

As to monitoring media coverage, b’cos I was formerly in journalism, it’s simply become second nature for me to take note of the unfolding political scenario as recorded through the written word in the public domain.

It boils down to this: The opposition are bursting their lungs screaming ‘Jom Ubah’. They’re peddling the untested premise that the outcome of any change is necessarily for better. From their track record the past 4 years I don’t see that.

They want us to trust – it’s called place blind faith – that all in Pakatan are much, much better people (Haris thumps Hannah’s chest that only she possesses the highest integrity, yadda, yadda) or Hannah’s bumper sticker that proclaims “Righteousness exalts a nation”, a biblical verse. Sorry but preachers are not favourited on my trust list.

If the state superstructure remains the same (there have been no signs that Pakatan is challenging the system or the old, entrenched way of doing things), then why should we believe that the opposition will bring about reform? It’s merely exchanging one set of people for another.

I’m not at all convinced that the second set of people are ethically superior or an improvement on the first. And at least the first set are not as self-righteously blowing their own trumpet.

POSTSCRIPT: I’m only at a loss as to why The Star is supplementing the horn section of the Pakatan orchestra.

      1. The DAPsters think that they will victorious in the coming GE13. well those who think they will be victorious, thinking that they are invincible, they will be the first to perish in any battle.

      2. Helen, i think MCA want DAP to win. Why? you may ask. MCA knows BN can hold the fort while Mca take long break . While they let the Chinese see for themselves , what DAP really is behind the mask once they take the lead.

If four years in Penang is not enough, then let them see how Dap con them again with their brand of ‘chineseness’.
It is also good for the others to see if Dap “cakap ada serupa bikin ka?”.

Sometime the people need to learn the hard way.

On another note, BN also need to really clean house , too many thieves in their house. They need to get their balls pinch real hard, just hard enough to cause real pain ,but not enough o faint, (boy’s you know what i mean, how two finger can cause so much pain)

Let;s sit back an enjoy, come PRU13 vote and live with the results la.

P.S. another intersting link from Hantu laut, his advice in the later parts is interesting ,helen care to comment?

Agree that DAPsters thoroughly deserve the DAP & vice versa. Concur, let them keep Penang. I’m opting to be a KL-ite/S’gorian. — Helen

      3. A very balanced and perceptive observation indeed Helen.

As for the Pakatan (especially DAP’s) hubris, just note how they are talking about zero opposition in Penang and also the way they are challenging the new BN chief in Penang. As a voter and Penangite, I am insulted because they think we voters are mere doormats and rubber stamps whom they can instruct what to do and whom to vote. They often remind BN that the rakyat are the bosses but do they behave in the same manner in Penang ?

  13. DAPsters launching The “Either you are with us,if not you are against us ” campaign, as they head into PRU13.

This is an old communist tactic, requiring the accused to denounce the Communist enemies.

Like i said in the past, the old communist strategist from MCP has taken over Dap propaganda office in Komtar.

    1. you should see Leni Riefenstahl’s Triumph of the Will, 1934/35. That film is what I call the greatest propaganda work of the 20th century.

    2. Very true. Most DAPsters are basically communists in thoughts and deeps. That’s why Malays who support or befriend DAP are very stupid. They are moddlycoddling with people whose fathers and grandfathers had butchered their fathers and grandfathers during the emergency and the Bintang Tiga reign.

  14. Koteypanjang,
it took the taiwanese 8 years to dump the DPP and Chen Shui Bian so its going to be a long journey.

    1. it took taiwanese 8 years to cleanse a corrupted kmt and elect a clean ma yingjeou, hope we could do this with shorter duration.

      1. Well Hua Yong, that one way of looking at it. ;).

Or as it turn out they voted in a leader talking about talking about KMT corruption and pretending to be a saint, and when they found out , it was too late. Some time like children ” bila terjatuh baru sedar”, well this advice works both ways.

      2. KTP, you are not wrong there is such possibility, and the likelihood for this to happen would be greater if any leader/party is in power for too long, that is why we must do something about the system, and place less hope on the people, in fact, Chen Shuibian was clean during his first term. “Too late” is relative unless we can be more absolute, the bad of democracy is the voters have to bear with a terrible leader for a period of time until the next election, but the good thing is democracy allow the voters to correct their mistake in due course, fair isn’t it?

On LGE, I am equally abhorrent toward what many call “Lim Dynasty”, and I agree a large part of comment from both Helen and Shamshul pertaining to this, but let us turn back the clock a little to before 2008, nobody knows there is a tsunami (GE2008), what if DAP never win in Penang, can I assert that the Emperor pave a golden career path for his son that lead to two years in prison? Which father wants to do this? Mahathir? Razak? Hussain Onn?

Before LGE contest in Penang, what have the DAP leaders achieved in Penang? Which Penang DAP leader went to jail fighting for a cause of hmmm…another Malaysian? Does two years in prison not make LGE a much respected leader among the DAP members and many leaders as well? Should we not assess LGE base on merits, as his own man instead of labeling him this and that? If what Calvin said is true that Penang government and LGE engage in corruption, I apply here the favourite statement by BN supporters, is that not his responsibility to report the case to MACC and not ranting in a blog? And which government can improve the economy under their administration without employ capitalist and corporate? Please la, apply some objective thought and logic when put forward our argument :)

      3. As for ‘defending’another Malaysian, you forgot his profession of choice ,a politician (aka snake whisperer).

These kind of people will suck their own dick in public ,if it means an extra vote to win an erection, i mean election.

There is no such thing as an honesty politican in my book,
So now , i look for politician who dont talk cock and dont promise bullshit and dont ‘blow air up my arse to make happy .

Sorry for the crude ‘sailor speak’ in my comments, they are for an economy of words when putting one’s opinion across.

But in the end i have only one vote like you,to choose to vote or to throw it away, is still a choice .

So don’t let any one tell you that you don’t have a choice in this so call two party system. YOU HAVE A THIRD CHOICE,A CHOICE OF NOT TO VOTE.

      4. ktp, of course you can choose not to vote. this is democracy. if we do some reading of china history, we often read how the emperor is getting angry to one government officer that go against him or criticizing him, but have his emotion cool down and said “i will not kill u and will not put you in prison, i know you want to impress the people that u r right and i am the one who do bad thing”. perhaps in the mind of ai and lge, thanks bn, 2 years exchange for cm and 6 years for pm. u make my day. and sorry, me n u can just rant here cursing the politician, and even give up our rights to vote, and hallucinate that we make the best choice :)

  15. Helen wrote, “Haris thumps Hannah’s chest “..arrrgh…the mental picture :). I come from Johore, growing up anti-establishment was almost unheard of, though DAP was indeed strong in my hometown, Kluang.

  16. koteypanjang,
