Kenapa Aliran memesan supaya membawa payung?

Satu lagi pojokan dari Aliran kelmarin, ‘Use of thugs, gangsters, hooligans – a very dangerous trend‘.

Orang dalam Aliran itu menulis:

“Concerned individuals and groups have alleged that Umno Baru has let loose its mobs and thugs all too frequently to disrupt, sometimes violently, legitimately organised meetings and forums by civil society groups and NGOs. …

“Now a new phenomenon has lifted its ugly head in the political arena – the use of thugs, gangsters and hooligans to intimidate and frighten, sometimes violently, civil society and NGOs carrying out their legitimate activities. Dissenters, protesters and even opposition leaders have become victims of these thugs. …

“I hope and pray that the Bersih 3.0 Duduk Bantah at Dataran Merdeka does not provide a golden opportunity for thugs, gangsters and hooligans to do their worst.”

Six Gun Annie

Helen asked Kenapa Aliran memesan supaya membawa payung?.

Since the upcoming Bersih 3.0 is a duduk bantah, I guess Aliran is probably insinuating that the payung to be used to shade oneself while sitting under the hot sun during protesting?

PS: Or maybe I’m too naive to think that way or maybe Helen think too much :)

the way I look at it, they will attract a lot of tourists and those tourists will probably say to themselves “the demonstrators/protesters in Malaysia are very disciplined, they even wear uniforms on protest/demo day. look at the yellow t-shirts, the bersih trademark. but wait, who’s selling those yellow t-shirts ? I would like to meet him/her. maybe I could learn a thing or two from him/her on how to make some money from protests/demos”.
and one of the locals nearby, when asked about this question, he said “tis demo, apa pulak nak cakap, ya mat sailor, if you want to meet the people in charge, apa nama ? Ambiga, oh ya Ambiga, you look for Ambiga. Dia, she will tell ya, ok ? Panaslah hari ni.
