‘Sam Bacile’ ialah nama samaran. Orang yang disyaki menerbitkan filem anti-Islam tersebut ialah Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, kononnya.
Nota: Nama betulnya ‘Basseley’ berbunyi seakan-akan ‘Bacile’. Beliau seorang penjenayah kolar putih yang pernah dihadapkan ke mahkamah di Amerika Syarikat serta diketahui menggunakan ‘Nicola Bacily’ sebagai alias atau nama lainnya.
Laporan oleh Associated Press: ‘California man confirms role in anti-Islam film‘. Nakoula telah memberitahu agensi berita AP bahawa dia seorang Kristian Koptik (minoriti di Mesir).

Steve Klein, yang mengaku dirinya perunding skrip untuk filem Innocence of Muslims, ialah pengasas kumpulan penggiat Courageous Christians United.
Pegawai-pegawai Israel menolak spekulasi bahawa penerbit filem hina nabi itu adalah seorang warga negara Yahudi tersebut.

From what i read, it was a Coptic Christian Egyptian that bikin the film. I watched the first 15 minutes: it was a mundane silly film equivalent to the Nazi ‘Jude’, created to create hatred against the Jews in Germany prior to WW2.
But the problem is these morons are finding trouble with 1 billion diverse Muslim peoples, not a some mere handful of Hebrews while their troops are having a hard time in Afghanistan and Iraq, losing face to freedom fighters on mules. The execution of the US Libyan ambassador, attacks on US embassy demonstrated how unpopular the US remain in the Arab-Muslim world.
Christian extremists lampooning prophets and gods of other cultures is not alien in Christendom. Mohamad in the Middle Ages was turned a demon lord Baphomet (rhyme with Mahomet), Roman god of happiness like Pan were made into the horned satan, the goddess Fortuna was made the succubi demon, the Aztec emperor Athualpa was made a demon because he fought against the rape of pillaging by the Spaniards while Hinduism not to mention Buddhism and other oriental beliefs were systematically denounced and dehumanized in books to justify that heathen are not equal to the white Christians.
While Islam is not in the light of righteousness as it is being portrayed in the silly YouTube film, in its hey days, Islam was cultured that it literally converted conquerors such the mongols into Muslims like Tamerlane and richness of Arab trade and culture was profound in the archipelago that the pragmatic sultans and kingdoms converted into Islam without sending a single army. It is a hope that the Arab Spring will reignite the dormant memory of the Arabs of once being cultured, but as of today, it is far from it, but it may be their turn one day as Europe decline.
As much as we are condemning the movie we also should condemn the attack. Muslim should be a peace loving being. There is always some who will take the opportunity to create chaos
looking at this in a different perspective, we all can agree that freedom of speech is not working. As the world we live in consisted of different creed & religion plus the where they are and their historical & cultural background – these factors contributed to their sensitivity level or how they deemed as sacrilegious as well.
The middle east is a volatile place – not due to the religion but the culture but has been misconstrued otherwise.
Can you imagine 15 mins of bad & amateurish overdubbed clip can cause such devastation, but was given permission to broadcast under the pretext of freedom. Just because it was made by few Americans that doesn’t mean that the nation endorses it – similar to the generalisation that the muslims are all terrorists.
Is there anything not blasphemous anymore just because we want our opinions to be heard? Similar predicament can be seen here in our country, we slander and accuse people without proof (BN splash paint over bus, MCA scratch cars, etc) – though no actual confrontations except for minor excursions but deep inside it instills hatred & suspicion.

Selagi Yahudi wujud didunia maka selagi itulah permusuhan …? Ya kah. Tapi [tanpa] Yahudi pun dunia Islam berporak poranda. Berapa kalifah yang hilang nyawa dibunuh orang Islam sendiri? Saidina Ali takkan Yahudi atau Amerika yang bunuh beliau. Kepala dia dipenggal oleh orang Islam sendiri.
Di Pakistan saban hari Islam bunuh Islam, berani Islam kata mereka di dalangi Yahudi. Lihat negara-negara lain seperti Somalia, Afghanistan, Iraq yang membunuh Islam, yang terbunuh Islam. Jangan gunakan Yahudi untuk menutup keaiban yang dilakukan orang Islam dengan nama Islam.

Helen i think you should do a piece on the violent anti-japanese riots committed by your fellow co-ethnics in China.
As a non-chinese, part-japanese malaysian i find it nonsensical for the mainland chinese populace to commit violent acts over the japanese govt’s decision to purchase a few seemingly barren islands from their previous private owners, who were also japanese. Why are the chinese so sensitive when it comes to Japan? I ask that rhetorically by the way.
