PAS memekik lolong mendoakan kehancuran Umno. Bukankan ia Pakatan yang kononnya menyeru agar dipupuk sistem dwi-parti?
Kalau doa parti Islam itu termakbul dan Umno sudah hancur, maka tidak akan wujud lagilah parti lawan — sama ada ia sebagai parti pemerintah atau parti pembangkang. Jadi sembahyang hajat PAS itu bukannya mencerminkan tindakan yang mendorong agar bercambahnya sistem dwi-parti, bukan?
Biar BN dapat ‘telur’, kata Guan Eng

Ke mana perginya penghayatan fahaman demokrasi mereka apabila Lim Guan Eng menggesa para penyokongnya supaya menjadikan Pulau Pinang sebuah negeri pembangkang sifar.
DAP bercita-cita meranapkan MCA meskipun selama ini MCA tidak pula pernah menyatakan hasrat mahu DAP musnah sama sekali.
Presiden MCA Dr Chua Soi Lek berkata dalam ucapannya:
“The party [DAP] has become so racially charged to the point of being arrogant. It sometimes forgets that the continued prosperity of the Chinese community in this country is due very much to this social contract of mutual cooperation among the major races of this country.”
Bercakap dengan pemberita di sisi persidangan ‘Malaysian Chinese at the Political Crossroads’ (18 Feb 2012), beliau mengingatkan khalayak ramai bahawa MCA tidak pernah memandang enteng DAP biarpun adakalanya dalam pilihanraya-pilihanraya yang lepas prestasi DAP telah jatuh merudum — contohnya pada PRU tahun-tahun 1974, 1982 dan 1995/9.
Kata Dr Chua dalam ketika MCA pernah mempunyai seramai 30-31 orang Ahli Parlimen (1995 dan 2004) namun partinya tidak pernah mengata bahawa DAP sudah sampai ke penghujung hayat.
Ini baru sahaja DAP sekali menyerlah dalam PRU12 dengan pencapaian terbaik parti tersebut memenangi 29 kerusi Parlimen sudah begitu bongkak.
Mengikut Dr Chua, keadaan suasana politik semasa kita berpunca daripada sifat Pakatan yang ghairah makan, minum dan mimpi politik setiap detik waktu.

Ada di antara penyokong tegar Pakatan dalam media yang tidak sabar-sabar untuk PRU segera diadakan.
Seorang kolumnis FMT itu tukang tilik tarikh pilihanraya. Menurut telahan Selena Tay, PRU dijangka akan diadakan dalam tempoh Feb 11-26. Lepas itu dia kata Mac 11, kemudian “awal bulan Jun”, seterusnya dia menangguh tanggal kepada bulan Julai.
Ada sekali mengikut nujum Selena, perdana menteri akan mengumumkan tarikh PRU serentak dengan pesanan Selamat Aidil Fitrinya di televisyen. Apabila Najib gagal berbuat demikian, wartawan tersebut berkata pasti Parlimen akan dibubarkan sebelum belanjawan dibentangkan dalam bulan September.
Last-last Selena Tay yakin PRU akan diadakan dalam bulan November atau paling lewat sebelum 15hb Disember — susunan url petikan, sini.

Dalam dalam kolumnya bertajuk ‘Speeding up the game?‘ (FMT, 13 Okt 2012), Selena telah menulis:
“It is up to the voters to see through BN’s ploys. Otherwise the saying that Malaysian voters are stupid is proven true beyond reasonable doubt.”
Selena Tay hari ini sekali lagi membayangkan orang yang memilih BN adalah dungu.

Tambah Selena, ada di kalangan penghuni miskin bandar yang keberatan untuk mengundi Pakatan kerana mereka menghargai pemberian tunai RM500 dan takut-takut sekiranya Pakatan menang pilihanraya, skim BR1M itu akan diberhentikan.

There was a time when MK was really independent and brave in reporting all wrongdoings and did contribute much to the political awakening among Malaysians. I used read it regularly. But lately MK has joined Harakah, the Rocket and Suara Keadilan as yet another PR propaganda machine. Most tiresome to read is their regular columnists. In fact except you (when you were there that is) I had ceased to read them a long ago.
One of the most interesting and important news yesterday was the case of a Hindu mother who won the custody of her child after years of struggle from her Muslim convert husband. This case has been given much space in the alternative media previously. Now that it has been closed in a fair manner, none of these portals bothered to report it. Had she lost the case, this would be the main news for weeks.
Another key news these portals completely omitted to report was how the pro-PR student organization was wiped out of university student elections. When they won last year, that was a huge news and a big focus of the so-called political analysts. This year there was a complete blackout of news.
As for Selena, I don’t even bother to read along with Jeswant Kaur, CT Ali, and a few PR other FMT “writers”.
The columnists in alternative media blatantly urging voters to choose Pakatan.
They are tedious to read but it’s worth pointing out these columnists’ opinion on those voters who don’t choose Pakatan, i.e. that the “balik kampung tanam jagung” voters are (in the view of the Pakatan camp) stupid and greedy.

Never mind that the assessment rates have gone up and the state authorities are imposing higher charges to get things done at the councils and have created new fees to be paid (e.g. for application forms) when previously such forms could be obtained without charge.
Today everyone in Selangor and Penang feels safe walking on a street alone because if you elect Pakatan politicians to power, then the crime rate will surely go down in addition to our standard of living going up. Because the Pakatan pollies are in charge, everything gets better (so he believes).
The Pakatan pollies swear they want to give much more oil royalty to Sarawak, Sabah and Kelantan. Which means less money in the federal coffers.
The Pakatan pollies promise they will write off all the PTPTN debts and turn the PTPTN – presently a loan – into a free grant for students. This means more spending.
With the federal government having less income from oil and more expenditure (like PTPTN and other freebies that Pakatan have promised), where is the govt going to get the money to make up the shortfall?
Oh, lemme guess. How about reducing the number of policemen and cutting their allowances, just as one measure I can think of off the top of my head.
So now, this ‘ed’ aka Sshsn is telling you that if you vote Pakatan, you can feel “comfortable about the security of your children” not only in S’gor and Pg but in the rest of M’sia too.
When Pakatan is in Putrajaya, you will spend less hours stuck in traffic daily, he says, never mind that in the last 4-and-1/2 years, S’gor and Pg have done nothing to improve the public transport system.
On the contrary, by allowing high-density condos to be built in Pg without the surrounding roads being upgraded, the Pakatan state govt has made traffic conditions on the island worse.
But of course the Pakatan pollies that ‘ed’ supports really, really care about the rakyat and if you haven’t seen improvements in the last 5 years, then give them another 5 lah. After all, we can give BN 55 years what.

Talking about bribery, since Pakatan supporters like to throw accusations: A report has been lodged with the MACC over Tunku Aziz being offered a “bribe” by Lim Guan Eng vis-a-vis the Penang Institute ‘offer’.
Thus far, all the allegations of bribery against BN are accusations except PKFZ and Cowgate which are charged in court. Going by the same yardstick, any accusation thrown against Pakatan but without any court conviction is just as valid. Simply use the modus operandi of throwing mud and more mud. Some of it may stick.
Therefore if you have a perception that BN is corrupt, I have a perception that Pakatan is equally corrupt and taking money from the big property developers. Remember, we’re both just airing our perceptions.
Ravin or Aziz, whicheverlah. In politics, lying by deception takes many forms including people like you and me for how and when it served us well. It is okay to side political affiances but what is the end goal. Sure BN has its skeleton in the closet (nobody denies it) but whose fault is it? You, me and the rest of the people like us who never questioned them until now.
Naturally we don’t want PR to be the same that is why we need to flush out the skeletons before they become another BN. BN/PR is not a gang war for how the political leaders trade in misrepresentation and half-truths seem to ignore the fact that lying to the people they serve or seek to serve violates the common moral principle that, absent moral reasons excusing it, deceiving others is wrong. Iam sure you don’t need a 1malaysian or Malaysia First concept for this if humanity amnogst us seeks a relief.
Helen does not need to talk about BN (we have every opposition politician and alternative media to do that), but we need her to keep a watch on PR and their antics so that they don’t stray for their political needs.
As citizens, we have a responsibility here too for our fellow citizens beyond the politics. We need to impress upon those who would lead us that we do care about truth and honesty and by losing our trust is an unacceptable cost of deceptive politics.
So I see nothing wrong for Helen to address issues pertaining to the opposition parties in Malaysia without the typical mumbo jumbo but purely based on facts on how it has been manipulated for a political drive rather than a humane solution for the deprived ones.

Ed, what is your reality?, All that you listed out is self derived from your own experience. Don’t you think a reality should be the one that concerns any Malaysian irrespective of the origin.

Rakyat Amerika tak berapa kisah siapa yang bakal terpilih jadi presiden kerana siapa yang jadi presiden, status quo dalam aspek ekonomi (raja kapitalis), sosial (liberalisme tanpa batas), agama (kristian agama rasmi) dan budaya (western culture) tetap tidak akan berubah.
Dan rakyat Amerika sudah sampai pada tahap tidak berapa kisah sama ada kulit hitam jadi presiden ke, kulit putih ke atau kulit kopi susu ke yang akan jadi presiden dan mendiami Rumah Putih asalkan ianya beragama kristian bagi memastikan dasar luar Amerika ada kesinambungannya.
Dalam konteks yang sama, negara ini juga seperti Amerika memiliki agama, budaya, hubungan sosial dan dasar luar yang tersendiri. Tetapi, kalau berlaku pertukaran kepimpinan, negara ini tidak seperti Amerika (kekal tak berubah) tetapi kalau pembangkang yang memimpin negara ini berkemungkinan akan berlaku perubahan besar dalam aspek agama, budaya, hubungan sosial dan dasar luar.
Perubahan yang yang bakal dibawa oleh muka baru inilah yang membuatkan 40% Melayu telah terpancing kerana melihatnya sebagai sesuatu yang positif tetapi dalam masa sama 60% Melayu masih berasa sangsi bahawa perubahan itu nanti menjurus kepada kenegatifan.
Justeru, apakah Melayu yang enggan berubah (kerana bimbang perubahan yang dijanjikan belum tentu positif) atau Amerika sudah tidak perlu lagi berubah kerana sesiapa saja yang berkuasa tidak akan berani menyentuh perkara yang sudah jadi tebal dan sebati dalam jiwa mereka?

Postings cik nampaknya amat anti Pakatan Rakyat. Cemuhan dan dakwaan (ada yang mungkin betul) terhadap Pakatan Rakyat semakin hari semakin menebal. Saya mengakui dlm sistem demokrasi, kita memerlukan orang sepertimu utk memberi kesan check & balance kepada parti pemerintah (kerajaan negeri). Namun, nampaknya Cik Helen buta hati terhadap kesalahan yang dibuat oleh Kerajaan BN. Tak pernah melihat cemuhan, kritikan ataupun dakwaan terhadap BN dihebohkan. Tak salah Cik Helen cenderung BN atau anti Pakatan (tak sama konteks), spt tak salah klu suka makan durian walaupun baunya kuat dan membuat seseorang ‘burp’ selepas makan.

Bukankah Helen dah kata yang beliau adalah pengundi setia Dap hingga PRU 2008. Makanya sudah tentu Helen banyak mengkritik BN sebelum ini. Soalnya, apakah pembangkang menggunakan kritikan Helen terhadap BN (sebelum ini) sebagai satu dorongan untuk mereka jadi lebih baik dari BN?
Nah, jawapannya adalah jelas iaitu pembangkang jadi lupa diri dan lupa daratan apabila ada insan seperti Helen tolong mereka dari segi kritikan terhadap BN. Habis ko nak Helen teruskan dengan kaedah lama berkenaan iaitu kaedah yang menjerusmuskan PR dalam longkang yang dalam lagi busuk?
