Bekas setiausaha agung Kerk Kim Hock pernah mendedahkan bagaimana para pengikut Guan Eng telah mensabotajnya dalam pilihanraya umum tahun 2004.
Angkara tindakan penyokong-penyokong Guan Eng itu yang bukan sahaja memboikot malah menyebar khabar angin bahawa beliau tidak pernah memberi khidmat kepada pemilih di kawasannya, Kerk kalah kerusi parlimen Kota Melaka yang dipegang beliau sebagai incumbent.

Mereka yang tidak sebulu dengan Guan Eng
Selain Kerk Kim Hock dan Wee Choo Keong, speaker DUN Selangor Teng Chang Khim dan ketua DAP Johor Dr Boo Cheng Hau juga dilihat sebagai pencabar kepada kedudukan Guan Eng.
Baru-baru ini Teng tidak hadir perhimpunan tahunan DAP Selangor selepas mendakwa beliau tidak dimaklumkan tentang acara tersebut kecuali melalui sms sehari sebelum berlangsungnya mesyuarat.
Sementara itu, timbalan pengerusi DAP Johor Norman Fernandez pula tidak menghadiri kongres DAP yang diadakan di Pulau Pinang beberapa hari lepas. Sebuah rencana dikarang Norman yang bertajuk ‘PAS has become a real danger‘ telah menaikkan amarah puak Guan Eng. Pandangan yang dikeluarkan Norman tidak mendapat restu “supreme leaders” partinya.
Dua orang Melayu telah dilantik ke jawatankuasa eksekutif pusat (CEC), iaitu Senator Ariffin Omar dan Zairil Khir Johari.
Zairil menyertai DAP pada bulan Februari 2011 manakala Ahmad Ton ialah orang lama DAP yang keahliannya sudah mencecah 36 tahun.
Kenapa Zairil dilantik dan Ahmad Ton tidak?

DAP 2.0 ialah parti orang muda Red Guards bertapak di Pulau Pinang dan Subang Jaya – kubu Papa dan Mama DAPster masing-masing – yang baru masuk menjadi ahli baru semenjak kejayaan tsunami parti itu.
Jumlah ahli-ahli DAP berlipat ganda daripada 48,000 orang dalam tahun 2008 kepada 150,000 orang pada masa kini.
Ahmad Ton ialah naib pengerusi DAP Johor. Beliau calon DAP di negeri Johor di DUN Bekok dalam PRU tahun 2004 serta bertanding kerusi Parliamen Tanjung Piai dalam PRU 2008.
Masakan Ahmad Ton selaku wakil DAP Johor akan dilantik Guan Eng ke CEC memandangkan orang nombor satu (Dr Boo) dan nombor dua (Norman) DAP Johor tidak disenangi setiausaha agung itu.
Lebih-lebih lagi, kebanyakan ahli CEC pun adalah orang Guan Eng.
Zairil anak emas Guan Eng
Perkataan “my boss, my boss” tidak lekang daripada bibir Zairil, setpol kepada Guan Eng.
“My boss has done a very good job in Penang. I think that’s the consensus you get internationally or in The Economist, in Bloomberg or in whatever you want,” kata Zairil.
Di samping itu, Zairil juga dilantik sebagai CEO Penang Institute, sebuah think-tank pentadbiran Guan Eng yang didakwa cuba merasuah Tunku Aziz. (Sudahkah SPRM habis penyiasatannya ekoran laporan polis yang dibuat terhadap organisasi tersebut atas tuduhan cuba merasuah itu?)
Pengerusi Penang Institute ialah Lim Guan Eng yang memperkenankan pelantikan Zairil sebagai CEO. Pendek kata si pengerusi adalah ‘bos’ kepada si CEO.
Tunku Aziz berpendapat bahawa Zairil adalah hanya seorang budak suruhan Guan Eng yang dihantar untuk menyampaikan tawaran ‘fellowship’ Penang Institute kepadanya dalam usaha menyejukkan hati selepas Tunku Aziz keluar parti.
“Apart from being the political secretary to Guan Eng, Zairil is also CEO of Penang Institute, a post that comes with a fat salary.”
Banyak “fat salaries” dinikmati Zairil gara-gara kemurahan hati Guan Eng.
Jika dibandingkan di antara Zairil dan Ahmad Ton, pasti Ahmad Ton tidak akan sedap-sedap memanggil Guan Eng sebagai “boss”.
Jadi Melayu yang mana satu agaknya akan terpilih untuk duduk di CEC bersama 21 orang ahli jawatankuasa berketurunan Cina (dan yang lain-lain orang Guan Eng, misalnya Dr P. Ramasamy DCM II Pulau Pinang)?

First thing I hear this dr Ariffin fellow do after being appointed to some DAP post is say the civil service is corrupt because it’s filled with malays.
I seriously can’t see how this would make them attract malays to the party like the Kims claim.
So people should be very thankful it’s only one malay guy who got any of their damned posts.
You can see what kind of people Kim Guan Eng choose to pick and what he makes them do.

Terlalu banyak komen-komen yang mempertikaikan status kemelayuan beberapa individu (Mantan PM, ahli parti Melayu dan ahli korporat Melayu) cuma kerana pihak sebelah bapa/ibu mereka berasal dari Asia Selatan. Bunyinya macam mereka ini mahu jadi pihak paling layak untuk menetapkan status bangsa seseorang. Kalau mereka kata bukan maka bukan Melayulah individu berkenaan. Sebaliknya kalau mereka kata ya maka Melayulah individu berkenaan.
Siapa pengomen-pengomen ini? Jawapannya boleh diketahui kalau dibandingkan dengan cara para pembesar parti-parti membuat komen. Apakah mereka penganut Pas? Mungkin juga kerana Pas sejak sedari dulu mempertikaikan status anutan parti lawan mereka. Mereka juga mungkin penganut PKR kerana sejak keluar dari parti Melayu, gendang anti-mamakthir dipalu. Apakah mereka MCA? Rasa-rasanya tidak kerana pembesar MCA tidak ada banyak masa untuk dibuang dalam isu remeh-temeh.
Bagaimana dengan Dap? Ha, ha, mereka inilah paling kelas dalam merendah-rendahkan kelas orang lain. Anehnya dalam kes Zairil, Dap bukan saja lantik Zairil untuk jawatan itu dan ini malah lebih dari itu dilantik juga jadi ‘duta Melayu’ wal hal kalau Zairil berada di luar Dap, apakah Zairil layak dianggap Melayu? Apa makna semua ini? Apakah kalau separuh dari darah yang mengalir dalam tubuh seseorang itu berasal dari Asia Selatan dan kalau dia masuk Dap dia tidak dianggap Melayu tetapi kalau separuh dari darah yang mengalir dalam tubuh individu itu berasal dari kawasan sekitar Tembok Besar dan dia masuk Dap, dia jadi duta Melayu?

No. Zairil is not a Malay. He is a Chinese Muslim only and it is wrong to use khir Johari’s name in accordance with Islamic teaching.
Race is inmaterial here. what is important is that Zairil becomes a member of a political party that “sees” Malays as “sampah” and wages war on whatever Malay legitimate concern.
DAP is afterall a party exclusively for the Chinese- “Zairil Khir Johari” is in fact a Chinese by blood. He simply borrowed his late step father’s name (Khir Johari) to enhance his political career.

Zairil itu geng Guan Eng. Ahmad Ton dia ini bukan geng Guan Eng. Itulah! DAP lost another golden opportunity.
DAP suka “young capable malay” tapi taknak “old rusty malay” Ahmad Ton, sedangkan Ah Siang yg paling senior tu sampai dah reput pun masih pegang jawatan. kenapa? pasai dia punya parti sdn bhd. malaysian malaysia konon… poodaah! ptui!
The most revealing comment was from the Tokong himself. He said Zairil is a special case since he’s the son of the first Education Minister and an UMNO leader. That means Zairil is qualfied to be in CEC because of his FATHER. Exactly like in his (Tokong) case and Gobind’s. So in DAP, who’s your daddy is more important than who you are or what you have done or can do.
What I hear over here is that Zairil is being positioned such way because he has been identified as a future Ali Baba leader. DAP knows that in Penang the Malays are a significant majority and they need a Malay leader as DCM1 but they are reluctant to share the post with PKR and PAS. So they might as well get their own Malay DCM1 who is absolutely loyal to the Tokong. Who else fits the bill better than Zairul the fake Malay ?
But I also hear other rumours that Zairil might be fielded in Perak or Selangor so if DAP wins the state, he will be the MB.
I suspect he will be given a very secure seat along with the other members of the DAP’s own 10th Regiment (remember PKM’s Malay regiment?).

Personally I very much doubt he’ll be fielded in Selangor. I think the Pakatoons will maintain status quo there. So this means DAP incumbants will have to sacrifice a state seat for Zairil. This won’t happen as Selangor’s full of DAP warlords and the fight is even more intense this time with many rich and powerful newcomers jockeying for seats.
But Perak and Penang more likely for this Malay wanna be. Likely a future MB of Perak or Penang DCM1 or even a CM if Pakatan wins the GE.
Actually what is also interesting is the position of DCM2 now that Prof Rama has been soundly defeated. MIC people here are having a fielding day whacking Rama for his “backdoor” entry.
Also, in the next GE, Rama probably will be defeated unless he’s moved into a safer seat in the island (which is unlikely). As such we will most likely to see a new DCM1 and DCM2 after the GE, even if DAP retains the state.

From what I heard, Zairil is not really popular or accepted by DAP people other than the Tokong. As you know the top state leadership is Penang is from outside of Penang. As such the arrival of Zairil has not been met with much enthuasiasm.
