“Umno patriots had and always will be sitting in their large homes paid for through corruption and eating themselves obese. Patriots my ass. We should hang all of them.”
Yang menarik minat dan perhatian ialah dakwaan Lynn tentang si patriot-patriot Umno sedang “eating themselves obese”.
Di bawah ialah gambar Kadir Jasin – memegang mic dan sedang bercakap – yang dirakam minggu lepas. Beliau tidak nampak berisi pun.
Duduk di sebelah kiri ialah pengarang eksekutif The Star, Datuk Wong Sai Wan.
2013: Johor akan dilanggar todak
Dalam PRU12, BN telah bertanding kesemua-semua 222 kerusi Parlimen sementara PKR bertanding 97 kerusi, PAS 66 dan DAP 47.
Pada masa kini, DAP memegang 29 kerusi Parlimen manakala PAS dan PKR masing-masing ada 23.
Negeri yang mempunyai paling ramai pemilih (perangkaan tahun 2008) adalah Selangor dengan sebanyak 1,536,111 orang, disusuli Johor 1,312,120 orang, dan Perak 1,196,160 orang.
DAP paling kuat dalam Pakatan
DAP memegang 85 kerusi DUN, PAS 83 dan PKR 43.
DAP meletakkan 102 calon untuk pilihanraya peringkat DUN. Seramai 85 orang daripada calon-calon DAP itu menang. Kadar kejayaan parti tersebut ialah 83 peratus.
PAS yang bertanding 237 kerusi DUN dan menang 83 kerusi telah mencatatkan kadar kejayaan 35 peratus.
PKR yang bertanding 225 kerusi DUN dan menang 43 kerusi mencatatkan kadar kejayaan 19.1 peratus sahaja.
Maka boleh dilihat bahawa mahupun DAP meletakkan bilangan calon yang paling kurang sekali namun ia parti yang paling berjaya.
PKR meletakkan dua kali lebih ramai calon (225) berbanding DAP (102) tetapi prestasi parti anak-beranak Anwar itu agak lembab.
Ada sebanyak 576 kerusi DUN di seluruh negara. Angka-angka yang dipetik di atas termasuk keputusan pilihanraya negeri Sarawak yang diadakan pada April 2011.
David versus Goliath
Kajian statistik menunjukkan bahawa DAP parti yang terkuat dalam Pakatan pada peringkat Parlimen dan DUN dua-dua sekali.
DAP menang hampir semua kerusi majoriti Cina bandar yang ditandinginya.
Why did the dinos cross the road?
Seterusnya DAP dijangka akan berjaya melingkupkan Parti Dinosaur Pupus dalam PRU13 nanti.
Namun DAP mahu membayangkan kepada pengikut-pengikutnya bahawa diri parti itu masih kerdil. Di bawah ialah poster kempen pilihanraya DAP yang menggambarkan DAP sebagai wira David menentang BN yang gergasi.
Adakah poster di atas memaparkan realiti?

Kadir Jasin dikecam sebagai seorang Melayu “rasis” umpama Umno patriots yang lain “[who are] eating themselves obese”.
Dari segi bentuk badan, Datuk Kadir itu kurus.
Penyokong DAP memandang Umno dan BN sebagai begitu korup sekali. Parti pemerintah dituduh terlalu “eating themselves obese”.
Akan tetapi bukankah di Pulau Pinang pun ada banyak projek-projek prasarana diusahakan yang bernilai berbilion-bilion? Bukankah ianya negeri-negeri Pakatan di mana kegiatan kongsi gelap berleluasa?
Dua kali lima kucing dua serupa
Ramai pembaca blog ini yang hairan kenapa The Star bersikap gunting dalam lipatan.
Dalam sebuah forum yang diadakan baru-baru ini, pengarang eksekutif The Star Datuk Wong Sai Wan mendedahkan bahawa bagi akhbarnya, yang paling diutamakan ialah “the bottom dollar”.
Kumpulan Media Star banyak mengaut keuntungan, tidak seperti Utusan Melayu (M) Bhd yang mencatat kerugian sebelum cukai sebanyak RM15.5 juta dalam tahun kewangan berakhir 31 Dis 2012.
Dalam wawancaranya yang dimuatnaik hari ini ke SwitchUp.TV, rangkaian televisyen dalam talian The Star, Datuk Wong mengingatkan para penonton bahawa BN hanya mengatasi pembangkang (calon-calon bukan BN) dengan 285,947 undi sahaja dalam PRU12. Ianya satu kemenangan yang tipis.
(Nota: BN memperoleh 4,081,115 undi manakala ‘Pakatan’ memperoleh 3,767,606 undi — yakni perbezaan 313,509 undi.)
Saya rasa The Star sebenarnya tak kisah sangat pun kalau MCA kalah nanti. Apatah lagi kedua-dua parti itu sudah nampak macam sama sahaja.
Fat cats orang DAP pun kelihatan sesihat fat cats orang MCA dulu.
DAP sekarang mendaftar keahlian tiga kali ganda. Ahli-ahli MCA juga dijangka akan keluar parti secara beramai-ramai untuk menyertai DAP.
Saya rasa perkembangan inilah yang mendorong The Star untuk ghairah menggunting.

Berkenaan Johor dilanggar todak.
Mungkin ia boleh berlaku, tapi buat masa ini mungkin tidak. Kita punya kepercayaan penuh undi Melayu akan ke BN. Cuma kawasan Cina mungkin akan memperlihatkan persaingan sengit.
Sebaliknya negeri seperti Kedah jika PR terlalu yakin akan jatuh ke tangan BN. Ramai org Melayu telah bercakap mengenai perkara ini. Sejujurnya kita pun tidak nsmpak apa sumbangan pas di Kedah. Jika ada pun ianya terlalu sedikit dan tidak signifikan…dan pengundi Melayu bukan bodoh sehingga tidak pandai menilai prestasi pas di Kedah.
Satu lagi negeri yang boleh menjadi kejutan ialah Kelantan. Mungkin penyokong pas berasa selesa memandangkan begitu ramai penyokong tegar pas di Kelantan. BN sememangnya underdog tapi tidak mustahil prestasi BN lebih baik kali ini. Selepas 22 thn memerintah tak banyak pembagunan fizikal di sumbangkan pas.
Kita mungkin kata org Kelantan lebih cenderung pada imej ugama yg pas bawa tapi kederhargaan pembangunan infra mungkin boleh mengubah. Tak salah kan beri pada BN utk 5 tahun, beri peluang utk bn tunai janji 7 perkara, pastu jika tak setuju undi saja pas semula. Kita percaya org Melayu di Kelantan bijak memilih.
Catdog mentioned sumbangan PAS di Kedah. So Helen, im digressing but here’s a thought, maybe you should start a topic on this subject. I’d like to find out what others see as actual contributions from their wakil be it DUN or Parliament.
I’ll even start – I have Umno for DUN and DAP for Parliament, and when I need help I run to MCA. It’s really interesting that the MCA man is always available and approachable and helpful and yet will lose out to the Dap in the GE.
The Umno rep has a lot of circles surrounding her and you would have a hard time to get to the inner sanctum. And since this seems to be a predominantly Malay DUN, I’m sure she’ll win again. But quite a few people I speak to seems to find her approachable so I could be the exception. If I were to score my wakils, they’ll both get two thumbs down.
My hometown has not seen any changes over the 5 years even the roads have not been upgraded, no new economic activity, in fact no new activity at all. Sigh….

Kita memang tidak menyangka thestar sebegini rupa memandangkan pemegang saham terbesar adalah mca. Agak pelik mca mengambil pendekatan bunuh diri. Apakah motif?
Tidakkah ia akan mengurangkan lagi 15 peratus sokongan Cina pada BN. Sejujurnya saya mungkin telah ketinggalan zaman mengenai perkara ini.

Katalah wang menjadi motif… dan andaikata pr menang pru13… dan kemenangan ini disumbangkan oleh propaganda thestar. Apa akan jadi pada thestar? Silap2 semua board of director yang terdiri dari orang kuat mca terpaksa berundur.
Dap dah tentu mempunyai sebab yang kuat untuk menguasai saham thestar memandangkan ia mempunyai liputan meluas dan perniagaan yg menguntungkan. Adakah ini yang mca mahu?

saya percaya the star gunting dalam lipatan kerana memang MCA mahukan sedemikian. jika tidak mengapa MCA masih berdiam diri?
seterusnya saya tidak fikir ianya tepat untuk mengatakan semua pemimpin BN khususnya UMNO sebagai korup hanya kerana beberapa yang obesiti. menyalahkan parti kerana ada beberapa individu yang ‘dikatakan’ korup adalah pendapat yang tidak harus diterimapakai kerana perlu ada pembuktian di mahkamah.
tentu saja akan ada yang mengatakan mahkamah juga korup, tetapi harus diingat jika kita mempunyai persepsi yang buruk tentang sesuatu, ianya akan kekal walaupun ianya tidak benar.
kesannya tentu kepada diri sendiri tanpa kita sedar….

I burst out laughing.
Although it’s a serious matter and I am sympathetic. Serious because he’s diabetic (as is Uthaya) and also the matter of the heart problem. Both these conditions put him at risk.

As far as the brothers are concerned, Uthaya is normally the more emotional in your face of the two, while Waythaya is the more measured sibling.
I know that Waythaya is under tremendous pressure. PR has been kicking Hindraf around and sabotaging them through the alternative online press.
What PR wants is one less racial component to the dynamic. They are already having so much trouble with the Chinese/Christian and Malay/Muslim tango.
I think that the Malays will just see this as another overdramatic act of an Indian leader that is probably more benign than the Chinese response. Remember the Malays themselves are used to melodrama in their politics.
Chinese Pakatan partisans however have it in for Hindraf. They actually hate the fact that Hindraf exposes the lie of the politics of love. In other words, what Hindraf does extremely well is piss in the kool aid.
Look at it this way. Wong Tuck threatens an act of terrorism and they justify his actions. Waythaya relies on a (Hindu) cultural tool of nonviolence and he is mocked as a turncoat and traitor.

AKJ’s apparently allows postings under pseudonyms if they go through his filter – Google Account, OpenID or Name/URL to comment. – All of which could be faked if one is so determined. So all this macho bluster using bigoted stereotypes is unnecessary but indicative of the hack that he is.
There are many reasons why people post anonymously and if Kadir has not figured it out yet then he is more of a disingenuous twit that I first assumed. It takes “balls” to publish anonymous attacks something with Helen Ang and some others like Rocky seems to have more of then AKJ.
I would understand if Kadir did not respond to anonymous drivebys but as long as people are civil and take the time to write reasoned comments who cares if it is done under anonymity. Hell, some of the most interesting discussions I have participated in are done under this cloak.
Kadir is more of the “pondan” [his words] than his critics. He hides behind the anonymity of others when he should be responding to his critics if their comments are civil.
