Does Guan Eng have something against mamaks?

In the last general election, Gerakan contested in the Parliament seats of Beruas, Teluk Intan, Puchong, Bukit Bendera, Tanjong, Jelutong, Batu Kawan, Segambut and Kepong.

Neither will Perkasa be contesting the aforementioned seats in the coming election.

Gerakan and MCA appear to be two rather “easily confused” parties. It doesn’t look to anyone else like Perkasa is their main political opponent but the two parties have attacked the Malay group with more gusto than they do their real rival, i.e. the party actually vying against them for the seats listed above.

If only Gerakan and MCA had expended even a quarter of the energy (that they had spent on Perkasa) to be directed at the correct target. That, folks, would be the Dee-Ay-Pee.

The recent scuffle will cost Gerakan its Malay votes. At the same time, Gerakan will not get any extra votes – nada, zilch – in compensation from the non-Malays for calling Perkasa “most racist”.

What Gerakan should have done

First let’s look at Lim Guan Eng’s most recent rant:

(a) Guan Eng finds it objectionable that Penang BN-Gerakan chief Teng Chang Yeow “even shook hands with ‘Coffin Ghani’.”

(b) He accuses Perkasa of being “racist” for its involvement in what were, according to him, “past violent and racist demonstrations carried out over the past five years”.

(c) He alleges the practice of “the politics of hate and violence by Perkasa”.

If I were Gerakan, what I’d have done was:

(a) Ask Guan Eng if he’s got a thing against mamak, so much so that he considers it not kosher for Teng Chang Yeow to shake hands with Mohamed Ghani Abdul Jiman.

(b) Ask Guan Eng in what way is he practicing the much vaunted Politics of Love by conferring the nickname ‘Coffin Ghani’ to the said deputy president of the Komtar Merchants Association?

(c) Ask Guan Eng in what way were the demonstrations led by Mohamed Ghani deemed “racist”? Was it because the demonstrators were mamaks and Malays? Would the demos be considered Beyond Race if a handful of Chinese had taken part as well?

Then ask Guan Eng why he has so polarized Penang that the races are split down the middle — with his staunchest supporters being Chinese and his greatest detractors Malay, such as the Perkasa group.

(d) Remind Guan Eng that despite his endorsement of the Anak Malaysia cheap publicity stunt, Hannah Yeoh’s firstborn was nonetheless and most hypocritically registered as a “Chinese” in her birth certificate.

Then proceed to ask Guan Eng if his party has got something against Indians too, in addition to holding a grudge against the mamaks and running the several ‘Boikot Kedai Mamak‘ campaigns. And remember to put the query to Guan Eng if that makes the DAP “Racist First”.

After all, the Guan Eng’s coterie of evangelistas has displayed a pattern of persecution against dark-complexioned people. Just look at the way they maligned the Kg Buah Pala Indian villagers, the “hitam metallics”, and the Beruas Indians who can be bought with a tin of Milo and a meal of mutton curry.

(e) Finally, if I were Gerakan, I’d pass a note to my BN counterpart MCA to ask them to instruct the renowned “media machinery” to run a story on Hannah Yeoh’s second – and once again – ethnically cleansed baby.

What I’ve outlined above, I believe, would be a more effective response to Lim Guan Eng’s diatribe on who is “racist”.  And it wouldn’t have made Gerakan lose all those Malay votes.

    1. Ibni Ismail,

Actually Guan eng ( and DAP ) hates people with darker complexion. Funny is it not. Malays have no issues with Mamaks. This is due to Islamic background where mamaks are “umat Nabi Muhammad SAW”.

As Mamaks leans towards UMNO, they becomes targets of derision by chauvinist DAP. Anyone or any party that “leans” towards UMNO is enemy to DAP.

No prize for guessing. It is this party, yes UMNO, that for decade
preventing Kit Siang from turning Lim Dynasty into reality.

      1. re: “turning Lim Dynasty into reality”

        Shamshul,

It is in Penang, don’t you think?

        1. Helen,

Yup. Penang is an example. Guan Eng behaves as if he owns Penang.

But Penang is just a state within a political boundary recognised as Malaysia. Had not for the party called UMNO, DAP is already “consumed” by power.

Lim Dynasty is then a full circle, “immortalised’ by “son of heaven” who lives in fantasy and regards others (mamak among others) as ‘barbarians”.

    2. “Mungkin juga sebab Tun M adalah mamak yang menghalang cita cita mereka sebelum ini. ”

Muahaha…Tun M lah yang memperkayakan Cina dan India. Lu tak bace Forbes ke? Cina kat hong kong Kuok tu ada 40 billion. Lu ampu Tun M lu dapat apa?

Tun M dan Cina DAP sama saja. Mereka nak kaut keuntungan dari Tanah Melayu.

      1. Anda membaca terlalu jauh.. Belajar belajar luahkan apa yang anda fikir tanpa memperlekehkan pemikiran orang lain. Kita ujudkan suasana sihat untuk bertukar pemikiran.

  2. Since the arrival of this traveling salesman from Batu Pahat, Penang has become the most racist state in Malayia

    1. dia asyik berpindah… sampai sendiri x pasti mana dia bertanding… hakikatnya dia lupa mengundi diri sendiri pd 2008…

tapi masa sampai calon CM… dia veto aje…

2013… LKS yg lupa undi diri sendiri… DPM ni blh caya?

? Ada betul kah ini, tuan sheh.? Bukan semua akan tetapi kebanyakkan nya, jika ia berlaku kat Penang , mereka melenting dan mengadu kerajaan Dap tak adil, kat kerajaan negeri lain, mereka sewenangnya melanggar undang undang meletak meja kat kaki lima, dan jalan raya, tak lah pulak mereka mengeluh kata kerajaan tempatan di Selangor atau pun di Wilayah Perseketuan “harrassed” kan mereka.

Kaum serupa ini merbahaya, bro.! Cakap tak serupa bikin lah mereka ni. Jikalau nak ambil tindakkan, cuba lah, majoriti pekerja mereka ada lah dari warga negara INDIA. Sebelum undi pilihanraya ke 13 ni, cuba buat pembersihan kat semua warung, semua restoran mamak, semua warung/restoran india, siapa pekerja mereka.

A classic example is that mammak who like to parades in a bow tie, another mammak from penang, whose personall asisstant got caught with plenty of safe boxes, I rests my case, that’s for a diferrent postings.

    1. Wah.. semacam marahnya tu pada mamak.. Saya pun kurang gemar dengan sikap mamak ni tapi setakat ini tidak ketara sangat mereka menikam kita macam sahabat cina kita. Namun kena hati hati juga sebab selepas ekonomi dia kukuh, mula lah mereka akan memasang niat untuk menguasai politik seperti sahabat cina kita.

  4. Join Gerakan then Helen. I am sure you can save them from near extinction. Also, people in Penang would be very happy for you to take on LGE in any Penang seat. You’re the perfect candidate to replace TCY. Don’t just be an armchair critic, be a critic with action.

    1. If you really believe that in order to legitimize my (armchair) criticism, I am required to enter the political fray as a candidate, then I may in turn suggest the same to you.

In an identical vein, if you want to legitimize your comment, you should start you own blog. I’m sure many readers here would be happy for you to take on all the alpha bloggers that you disagree with. You’d be the prefect blogger. Don’t just be a drive-by shooter, be a critic on your own platform.

      1. Setuju dengan you, Helen. Jangan lah si Brownny jadi seperti ketam mengajar anak anaknya berjalan straight sedangkan dia sendiri pun jalan sideway lah.

  6. I have a feeling too, that the DAP and their cybertroopers (CT) dislike Indians, including Mamaks. I have been venturing the comment section of blogs from both the divide and on many occasion they kept harping on Tun Dr. Mahathir’s ancestry, bragging that he originates from Kerala, India.

They even say that Syed Mohktar was also from India. It seems to me, that they regards people of Indian origins are, somewhat low-class or something that we should treat as vermin. These are the mentality, from where ‘hitam metallic’ or ‘biscuit celop kopi’ terminology comes from. Yet they claim to be color or race blind, Malaysian-Malaysia and all that crap.

There are instances when these DAP’s CT, resorted to faking or masqueraded with an Indian name, spewing insults to the Malays. I can only guess their intention. Maybe the Indian seems to be leaning back to BN, hence the need to create animosity between Indians and Malays.

Perkasa would not have existed if there are no Dong Zhong (established 1955) or Hindraf. When there are many NGOs and other bodies, demanding for their own races, why can’t Perkasa do the same. After-all, they are only safeguarding the right of the Malays, as laid down in the constitution.

When UMNO and PAS seems to be bending backwards, too much, in their haste to garner votes, Perkasa is the only avenue left for the Malays. Perkasa have never demand anything which does not belongs to them. I think those who says Perkasa is racist are themselves, more racist.

    1. If LGE know that anwar also originate from India, maybe he will change his mind..Since Helen seems like LGE’s bf, she should help us telling this to LGE..Can Helen?

  7. Actually, the reason could be simpler than we think. Maybe the last time he had nasi kandar ended up with his pipes being cleansed thoroughly. ;)

  8. LGE stupidly announced no NEP in Penang not long after he won, then some Malay (actually mostly Mamak) organised protest in Komtar. Then Daps retaliated with the boycott nasi kandar campaign.

This is why I am greatly dissapointed with PR, instead of turning it into a middle class / elites class struggle, they still harping with race… Well, if they lost this golden opportunity to change n grab power, only 2 words from me: padan muka!
