  • “This sinna pambu (small snake) is acting at the behest of the peria pambu (big snake) from Kerala, Mamak Kutty.”
    .
  • “[…] this is all part of Mamak Kutty’s scheme to raise the spectre of May 13 again, sow hatred amongst the Malays towards the Chinese, and raise tensions between the races in time for polling day on 5th May.”
    .
  • “To counter the first of Mahathir’s dirty tricks mentioned above […]”
    .
  • “How do we do with Mahathir’s second evil plan. ABU has come up with a short video message to warn people of this plan. Please help to viral it.”

ABU menyergah filem Tanda Putera

Momokan Mei 13: “Cuba menakut-nakutkan rakyat”

Malaysiakini kelmarin menyiarkan rencana ‘Ex-Umno man defends DAP against May 13 charge‘.

Komik lakaran ABU

Tamrin Ghafar juga dilaporkan oleh Malaysiakini sebagai berkata: “Chua Soi Lek is the first general since the Ming dynasty who has not gone to war. Chua only won one war — the battle of Katerina Hotel, right?”

Dr M bukan cuba membangkitkan hantu 13 Mei.

  1. I think nobody is gonna take this Tok Aba…. ooops… Tok ABU seriously… LOL!

    1. He’s one ungrateful malay son of the nation !!!!

      Yeap, he’s a freaking (U)gly (M)alaysian (I)nside – U.M.I.

  2. Kalau nk di katakan bodoh, semua mcm bijak pandai. MCA tak pernah letak calon melayu? Dh nama pun Malaysia CHINESE Association… mane datang melayu nye? Yang DAP langsung tak demokratik tu cane pulak? Brape ramai calon melayu kali? Melayu celup nama Zairil tu tak kira la yer. Lagi 1 apa salah jadi mamak kutty? rakyat malaysia jugak kan? Kata nak reject racism tapi kalau dok asyik ulang pasal kaum, bangsa bukan rasis ke tu?

  3. Haris has really gone too far this time, resorting to racist name-calling! This idiotic mad man should be locked up and the keys thrown away forever! Imbecile!

  4. alleging someone as racist while calling said person a racist name. That’s practically an art form for some Malaysians now.

or maybe it’s a malady that can only be cured by looking in the mirror.

  5. He tried to cover himself. He just put something about Tun M and he know he will be in trouble if Tun M open his mouth (Only if…only if). To cover himself, he yepping something else.

He’s aware that, if you want to play a words game with Tun M, you better be prepared 200% and read and memorized at least 5 dictionaries. There a lot of casualty when peoples try to start a word war with Tun M. You can trace back to Australian PM, Britain PM, few American Presidents and lots more.

Some people said, when everything has been said and done, legend has it that, some even end up in library trying to find up what that word this M fellow used. Some said, a certain fellow still feelling a grunch after realizing the true meaning of Tun M words for him. And overseas journalists, always have a field days when Tun M playing a word games with their leaders. (I think seeing their leader struggle to answers Tun M statement make their days. He an Asian mind you)

Quote from a friends, His English was more advance than brilliance Englishman.

a reminder to Haris, Be Afraid. Be very very afraid. Don’t make me talking, you don’t like me when I’m talking.

    1. And that also a reminder to people who thinking he/she will win when playing a words game/war with Tun M.

  6. harris show how low life he is , talking about others are racist but he the ones who racially name calling .. hypocrite bastards !

  7. In dissecting the sudden pathogenesis of the Chinese electorate mindset, one needs to skew certain myths being perpetrated to explain this unprecedented surge of antiestablishment feelings. In is brief analysis, I will attempt to debunk a few myths and propose the actual reasons for the collective communal angst suffusing the Chinese. Do bear in mind that due to space constraints an indepth analysis is not possible.

Myth: Chinese political discourse has been hijacked by Chinese Christian evangelism.

Fact : this is in actuality an oversimplified rationale for the Chinese electorate’s desire for change. In fact, to utilize the evangelism factor would be according it disproportionate influence in the anti-establishment evolutionary process. In reality, opinion shaping and manipulation in the Chinese community has to a large extent been actualized by the vernacular media and in the case of the English educated, the STAR. If one soberly analyses content, in these two prime sources of perception building, one is struck by the absence of overt or covert Christian evangelism in the discourse. One is more likely to find angst ridden polemics about the NEP, corruption, lack of educational opportunities, vernacular education, SME woes etc etc, some of which are deliberately slanted to create the perception the government is insensitive to Chinese issues. Of course, the Church have taken advantage of the situation and used the pulpit effectively to infuse a primordial good vs evil mythology but the Church alone is not culpable in that respect.

Myth: Malaysian Malaysia meritocracy will erase injustice ala Singapore

Fact : no mirror stands better than the Singaporean one in which purveyors of theMalaysian Malaysia illusion can reflect upon the validity of their claims. Singapore started life on the basis of colorblind meritocracy and in the first decade or so that seemingly appeared to be the case with the likes of Devan Nair, Rajaretnam, aljuneid etc. But that was just a facade, for internal schisms circulating within the model ensured that what was an outwardly meritocratic society would inexorably strip itself of that illusion to reveal its inherent Chinese supremacist based racism.

Take the case of the introduction of GRCs in 1988 into the electoral system. The excuse being it would facilitate minority Malay and Indian participation to prevent an all Chinese parliament. Now that is telling, isn’t it? If Singaporeans are indeed race blind Singaporeans why should it matter that minorities need their own kind! Wouldn’t each and every Singaporean take care of one another in a fair and equitable way?

In fact, Goh Chok Tong’s statement on GRC introduction : ” it is make believe to pretend that race does not affect voting patterns”is by itself a telling revelation that race blind meritocracy nation building in Singapore has been a myth all along. Enough said.

Now for the Malaysian Chinese, particularly the DAP an offshoot of PAP, to hold up a failed multiracial Singaporean ideal as a solution to a multiracial Malaysia is laughable, isn’t it?

There are many more myths to skew but I will next proffer reasons for the Chinese anathema towards the BN.

    Middle Class Socioeconomic Disequilibrium

The crux of the matter, I opine is the middle class disequilibrium impacting the Chinese community. The emergence of a Malay middle class has thrown a “competitor” in the scheme of things. Increased competition in jobs, resources, finance, housing etc means that the Chinese have to cope in a increasingly pressurized situation even as median income growth has stagnated. Income growth has to a large extent been crimped by the influx of cheap foreign labour themselves ironically sought by SME Chinese entrepreneurs and this has displaced opportunities for lower middle income Chinese. An attendant factor has been a decline in nonTFP productivity that has impacted wages. On the flip side, presence of foreign labour has disincentivized Chinese SME entrepreneurs from investing in technology (a Total Factor Productivity input) thus leading to a loss in competitiveness and by extension, profits. Thus a Chinese created problem has come home to roost further aggravated of course by the recent imposition of minimum wages, increasing Malay equity share of the economy. Caught off guard by complacency, the Chinese have been jolted into regaining that socioeconomic equilibrium now increasingly threatened by externalities beyond their control. Previously, the method was by leveraging on their economic might but now having witnessed a fractious Malay polity, the Chinese sense that this is the moment where they can seize political ascendancy through collective unity.

Abdullah Bodowi, the instigator of racism

It is common consensus that Sleepwalker Dollah -of Chinese descent- was an abject failure as PM. Besides, increasing the national debt two fold, presiding over a electoral humiliation, he was also responsible for unleashing the Malaysian glasnost but being intellectually ill equipped to handle the fallout from that free speech revolution. The idiot and his sidekick SILhoutte were also responsible for aggravating racial tensions with their 2005 Keris wielding antics at the UMNO GM which scared the shit outta the Chingks. That rebounded in the Sarawak state elections and cascaded into GE12 and carried on from there. For the Chingks had resolved, they would rather feel safe being in control then leave their fates in the hands of Badrul Amin, Khairy and gang. If Dollah had managed things better, he could have neutralized the Chine volte face via the Malay vote, but the bastard was hellbent on making it easy for his Penang pal, Anwar and the rest is history. May he rot in his dotage!

Innate Chinese Need to Assert Superiority

This is an accepted truism. The Chingks are innately inferiority complexed folks and by default forever in fear of shadows of their irrational paranoia. To circumvent these obsessive fears of being swamped, subjugated etc they build psychological and cultural walls through their networks of kinship, clans etc. When afforded the chance via economic prosperity, numerical superiority, they seize the day to assert dominance and thus be masters of their own destiny. It is the ultimate bully tactic, exude communal security through superiority and that superiority jives well with their innate sense of destiny- that they are the chosen race, the master race, the sons of heaven, blahblahblah it is a dangerous id driven, ego managed and superego directed paranoia. GE13 affords that seize the day moment so why not?

All races do have the foibles but that is normal plus nothing to be ashamed about. But it is better for the Chingks to come terms and exorcise their inner demons so that they can live together in a give take manner in a multiracial Malaysia. But given their walled off prejudiced driven culture it would be a difficult proposition unless they choose the assimilative pathway

There are other reasons for what is happening such as the notions of illiterate vs enlightened democracy, consociational vs confrontational paradigms, dysfunctional vs functional polities that accounts for the contemporary scenario but the night is slipping, a cockerel is crowing, a bed is calling in which a woman lays inviting………good night Malaysia, wherever you are

    1. Warrior, nice to see to see you in this platform again with your input. I think you bring added value to enhance the progressive thinking even though it is flawed on a subjective manner sometimes for the general objectivity. Nevertheless your opinion is appreciated without the occasional obiter dictum. Judgement comes from experience, and experience comes from bad judgement as our own bad experience without a trial and error process becomes the bad judgement that we try to dictate for the others.

  8. Seems like it’s the in thing to slander /demonise Dr M for the Pakatan people. Dr M must be doing something right for these people to be so excited/angry. Dr M is not even contesting in the PRU.

All the above comments about that ABU goon is a racist is right. His use of ‘Mamak Kutty’ is showing his true colour. Mengata orang, dia yang lebih. Macam ganster lagi. Tak ada kelas langsung. Dr M can cut people to size (he don’t suffer fools gladly), without even resorting to barbaric behaviour. That is classy.

I remember watching one press conference attended by hundreds of reporters (looks like a wall of reporters with their cameras), from inside and outside the country. Lots of questions were thrown at him. He answered it short , logical and factual. Not dropping his pace throughout the PC. Tak ada pusing-pusing, putar alam, like some politician. He really knows his stuff. I think he gained lots of respect from the reporters because he was so professional. I was a very proud Malaysian when I saw that we have a very capable and smart man as our PM. I don’t think Anwar (he will beat around the bush), Kit Siang (his answers will be rhetoric) or Hadi (he never exercise the brain muscle that Allah gave him) can do what Dr M did that day. I respect Dr M because he walks his talk. It’s not an easy thing for anyone to do…but he did it.

Thank You Helen for this blog. Being a non Malay, non-Muslim it must be very uncomfortable trying to be rational in the midst of rabid PR supporters who are family and friends. That goes to other non-Malay, non-Muslim who supported the BN too. May Malaysia be blessed by having lots of sane, rational and good thinking people.

  9. Who do you want to listen to: Mahathir, a respected, respectable, well-mannered statesman, or Tamrin, a has-been politician who didn’t do too well when he had the chance or Harris, a uncouth, rude, racist thug who talks with his hands raised for battle?

Sometimes, I don’t understand these Malaysians. Why do they want to listen to people who has no credibility at all and for whom you have no respect? Case in point, you vilify Chua jui meng when he was a minister, now he’s your best buddy? You don’t even know Tamrin other than him being Ghafar’s son (although i’m sure there’s some whispers of “Ghafar who?” from your crowd) but suddenly he’s your source of history?

  10. umno dan org melayu sering dituduh rasis padahal sejak dahulu lagi mereka membenarkan wakil mca mahupun mic menang dikawasan majoriti melayu.

Dap hanya baru sekarang menonjolkan sifat tersebut walaupun pernah mencuba guna ahmad ton dll

And yet this stupid DAP followers keep call us racist!!

Haris Ibrahim ini bukan nya bodoh tetapi berniat untuk memperbodohkan orang lain hingga menampakkan kebodohan dirinya sendiri.

  12. I almost forgot. you guys should visit the Yahoo ! Malaysia site. read the stuff there. its almost entirely opposition material. now there’s no doubt that foreign elements are backing the opposition to the hilt.

  13. First of all, Mahathir has a reputation and history of NOT suffering fools. Granted, he has flaws and is ever controversial but he took gambles which paid off – handsomely. Yes, he chewed off quite a lot of people and institutions to consolidate his own political grip on power, but he has got a pair of balls and gave us highways, KLCC, KLIA, Putrajaya, privatised tertiary education and a national automotive industry.

Badawi never stood a chance to fill such oversized shoes and Najib is certainly trying. Many tried to claim that our national development and growth would have just been as spectacular without Mahathir. That’s like saying Lee Kuan Yew doesn’t mattered in the Singapore story. Both men are responsible for the state of affairs today, and I rate Mahathir higher because he has to juggle a broader economy and manage a more complicated society.

His legacy, in my mind, is secure. Haris Ibrahim? Who is he?

    1. I can agree on this on Mahathir. Also somebody earlier wrote that political nuances in Malaysia belongs to the Malay which I also totally agree. Without the Malay and their culture there won’t be a check and balance for other communities in Malaysia. They truly provide the balance for the rest of us Non Malay on what is humane. We are heterogeneous not homogeneous in Malaysia. This is one of my favorite. Tanya Sama Hati

    2. spot on, ihns!

flaws, who doesn’t have them. as for consolidating his own political grip on power, he would not have been able to carry out his vision for the country, or his gambles as you called them, without it. such is the reality of politics. as you intimated, LKY knew that too. as did other leaders who had brought any kind of notable change to their nations. i think msia is very lucky to have had a Mahathir when we needed a Mahathir.

men who want to lead have to relish battles and challenges, but it will take more than mere balls to have any measure of sucess.

in Dr M’s case, his two best assets have to be his famous self-discipline and his dignity.

it is well-known that the man works hard and doesn’t skint on doing his homework. that is why he is never caught unprepared or never appears uncomfortable in his skin. he also knows how to pace himself. for him to stump for BN the way he does in this GE is nothing short of amazing for a man his age.

as for his dignity, that poise and grace under pressure, i dare say it serves him like an armour against even the vilest of attacks. call me fanciful, but i think of it as his shirt of mithril. if you watched closely you’d catch the glints of it, esp when crass idiots who didn’t know their betters or didn’t know any better, like this haris who? or that anwar ho, heckled or insulted him.

both sides of the political divide would do well to take note on how Dr M conducts himself.

      1. My sentiments exactly! This great man’s self-discipline is worth emulating!
