Penang, the exemplar DAP-ruled state

A two-month-old puppy with a deep gash on its neck after the wire that was used to tie it had cut into its flesh (photograph below).

The mongrel was rescued by Seberang Prai SPCA treasurer Richard Ong.

Another puppy, four months old, did not survive the wire torture.

    1. Pokok pangkalnya penderaan binatang itu berlaku di Pulau Pinang, sebuah negeri diperintah DAP yang dicanangkan oleh peminat-peminat pembangkang sebagai contoh pentadbiran yang paling sempurna dan paling molek sekali.

      Sekiranya sesuatu yang tidak elok berlaku, negeri tersebut dipersalahkan. Misalan, untuk kadar jenayah yang kononnya tinggi — Guan Eng salahkan Johor.

      1. Bagi saya, fokuskan kepada benda yang lebih penting dari cerita remeh temeh sebegini. Jika MPSP yang menganiaya, biar tumpuan ditujukan kepada dia saja. Bukan LGE/DAP/Kerajaan negeri yang keluarkan dasar itu. Jika LGE ingin sangat nak buat tuduhan secara menyeluruh mengenai sesuatu perkara, biarkan. Biar setiap isu yang kita bangkitkan lebih spesifik, lebih relevan, berfakta dan sebagainya.

          Saya rasa tidak kurang juga sekiranya perbincangan dibawa kepada pentadbiran Pulau Pinang secara am. Bagi saya Guan Eng seorang pemimpin bermasalah.

          Yang menjadi masalah kepada kita (warga Malaysia yang bukan pemastautin P. Pinang) ialah mentaliti fanatik orang Cina yang mendewa-dewakan Guan Eng.

          Salah satu gejala fanatisme ialah kejadian-kejadian di Pulau Pinang di mana beberapa bulan lepas ketika sambutan Tahun Baru Cina, seorang pemuda Cina telah dikenakan tindakan oleh polis kerana menunjukkan isyarat tangan lucah kepada Raja Permaisuri Agong.

          Dan baru-baru ini sempena hari keputeraan YDP Agong, bendera kebangsaan kita dikibarkan terbalik, gambar sini, oleh sebuah kompleks membeli-belah yang upmarket di pulau itu.

          Yang harus dipantau serta diberi pertimbangan juga ialah keadaan orang Melayu and orang India marhaen mendakwa mereka tidak lagi mampu untuk tinggal di bahagian pulau kerana kos hidup (sewa rumah) yang tinggi.

          1. Saya rasa Helen tidak menulis mengenai bendera terbalik di Queensbay.

            Pulau Pinang memang tidak asing bagi saya dari Batu Ferringhi hingga ke Batu Maung, dari tahun 60an lagi, walaupun saya bukan orang sana. Dalam enam tahun kebelakangan ini memang rasa tidak selesa atau lebih tepat lagi ‘gerun’ untuk berada di Georgetown. Adakah itu satu ‘taktik menakutkan’ dari DAP? Dulu pun ramai orang Cina di sana tetapi tak ada masalah untuk berjalan kaki dari Penang Road ke feri. Tetapi sekarang untuk menyeberang ke pulau pun jika boleh hendak dielakkan.

              Firasat saya: Kelakuan penyokong DAP di Pulau Pinang adalah melampau hasil daripada usaha cuci otak LGE yang begitu mencengkam.

      2. Aku jamin Iskandar Johor (kubu kuat DAP baru sekarang- Gelang Patah) tak ada kes sebegini… Boikot Lembah Klang (KL selangor), Iskandar (kubu Kuat DAP yang baru) dan Penang.. Kita pergi Kinabatangan dan Lahad Datu buat factory atau pelaburan…Maaf.. Lahad Datu sekarang tak selamat sebab Sulu.. Ambil Kuala terengganu.. Sorry itu juga kubu pembangkang..   6. Pulau Pinang. has lost its charm to be honest. The beach is not as great, the food is now so-so, the town dull. Thank god for Seberang Prai.

  8. Fact. Many years ago a Fellow from my college visited Batu Ferringhi beach and told me that his skin itched after a swim. I told him that the whole lot of sewage from Georgetown flowed into the open sea including Batu Ferringhis’s.

    Since then, 30 years ago, nothing has been done to alleviate this dirty stinking sewage. Hawaii is one of the few places where the sewage is not released to the sea and is retrieved and processed. How I know?

    My friend, the chief of the sewerage plant Penang visited Hawaii in the 1960s and told me how dirty and filthy the Penang sea beaches and sea waters were.

    Since then, nothing had been done to bring this filthy sea water used by thousands to clean and hygienic standards.

    This a good starter for the Pulau Pinang State Government and forget about the tunnel and skyscrapers etc for the moment !
