  1. I’m not sure which is the worst to be honest. Malaysiakini or the Star. Both have been harping about this dead terrorist for some time now.

Though maybe Mkini is the worst. They had video coverage of the funeral and quoted Comrade Tian Chua’s thoughts on the matter. Malaysiakini seems to be obsessed over the matter and the most pathetic thing was having Chin Peng’s teary face as one of their pictures.

    1. But Malaysiakini does little to disguise its pro-opposition bent.

The J-Star, on the other hand, is still perceived by many gullible folks as a government mouthpiece.

      1. Indeed, I was a little shock to see the Star put CP on the front page and dedicate several articles to him. Silly MCA, don’t they know that they are despised by Communists and their lackeys as “running dogs”.

        1. re: “Silly MCA, don’t they know that they are despised by Communists and their lackeys as ‘running dogs’.”

Silly MCA, don’t they also know that they are despised by their own employees in the media company that they own as “donkeys”.

    2. i think the cina dap and associates want a cina hero for the malaya that’s not related to pertikatan or bn but they don’t have any.. chin peng is the only cina with name known nation wide who fought british and japan.. but the butcher of malaya continued fighting the government and killing innocent malayans even after independence which makes him the opposite of independence fighters.. chin peng is the closest to satisfying their agenda.. they only need to erase or distort some pertinent facts to do that.. if they can paint lynas as nuclear reactor, you just imagine..

  2. The inability of Mr. Gan Ping Sieu to relate the deeds of the late Mr. Chin Peng as an issue for the Malay Community is indeed very surprising and to label it as dumb is insensitive, to say the least, to the many whose love ones had died or suffered injuries, be it permanent or otherwise, by the hands of the Communists led by the late Mr. Chin Peng.

It is also a fact that in addition to Malays, there were also Malaysian Chinese, Malaysian Indians, Malaysian Non-Malay Bumiputras who had suffered (and is still suffering) from the atrocities perpetrated by the Communists and thus this issue is not merely a Malay issue.

IMHO, this callousness of calling a sizable portion on the Malaysian population as dumb is not a mark of a statesman at all regardless of political affiliation, and the fact that it came from someone affiliated to a component party of the Barisan Nasional made it even worse.

Mr. Gan Ping Sieu need to decide whether he is a leader of all Malaysian or is he merely interested to champion the “extreme” component of the Malaysian Chinese Community….

  3. So he basically admitted that the whole Chin Peng fuss is because he’s Chinese.

Maybe he should ask China to take his remains then. Share a burial place with Mao.

  4. MCA isn’t relevant. Its voice hasn’t got weight. Even the Chinese did not give votes to MCA.

No state govts will allow the ghost of Chin Peng to be buried in their states except maybe P. Pinang, Selangor and Kelantan.

    1. re: “No state govts will allow the ghost of Chin Peng to be buried in their states except maybe P. Pinang, Selangor and Kelantan.”

Chin Peng is already cremated. His ashes should be in an urn as is the custom with Chinese cremation.

The urn containing Chin Peng’s ashes can be respectfully displayed in a showcase in the main lobby of Menara J-Star located in Phileo Damansara. It will be an appropriate Evangelista Bintang Tiga azimat for the Scissorati working in the building.

Phileo Damansara is in Selangor. Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim can be counted on to grant his approval.

      1. Oops, I forgot. Khalid Ibrahim is not the real power in Selangor. He’s just the sleeping partner in the Ali-Baba scheme.

  5. Just my take

Re. Abdul Rahim, a former inspector-general of police, said it was “grossly unfair” that Chin Peng had not been allowed to return to Malaysia permanently or to even make social visits, pointing out that CPM chairman Abdullah CD was even given an audience with Perak Sultan.

As Conrad made it clear, its a political one. And I may add that its also a racial one too. The Malays have always associated Communism with the Chinese and certain quarters of the Malay populace viewed it as a Chinese rebellion while ignoring the fact that Malays too were involved with Communism during that period.

Since I m The International Jew, after I post this comment, without a shadow of a doubt, I will be accused of being a Jewish agent or names like that. Well, what did you expect from me ? My name is The International Jew. What do you think the word Jew is ? He he he !!!

    1. TIJ,

re: “The Malays have always associated Communism with the Chinese and certain quarters of the Malay populace viewed it as a Chinese rebellion while ignoring the fact that Malays too were involved with Communism during that period.”

      (1) If more than 95 percent of the communist guerrillas were Chinese, then it is only natural that Malays would associate Communism with the Chinese.

Furthermore, China is in name still the “People’s Republic” and has not officially disassociated itself from the communist ideology while at the same time, the country is run by the Communist Party. Additionally, no Muslim country is communist.

re: “certain quarters of the Malay populace viewed it as a Chinese rebellion”

And it was. The communists could hardly speak in our national language and their written communication – correspondence (memo), leaflets, statements were predominantly in Chinese. They wanted to set up a republic and the organizational structure of state rule to be modelled after the communist party system in China.

Fast forward to 2013 and MCA pula wants to do the same.

Urm, they had Chinese wives. Same today with Malaysian men who marry Chinese evangelista women. It’s an induction into Bintang Lima.

Also some Malay-Muslims seem to think that it’s okay to marry mualaf wife No.2 (or 3 or 4) to bring them into the fold of the ummah, correct or not?

      1. Re Also some Malay-Muslims seem to think that it’s okay to marry mualaf wife No.2 (or 3 or 4) to bring them into the fold of the ummah, correct or not?

        Correct.

What Malay Muslims fail to see, and this is most visible with the pro establishment folks, is that the nature of the game, the rules that define it, has changed.

What I m saying here is, we simply cannot expect people to support us just by saying that we are a party founded on the principles of empowering our ethnic group.

People nowadays, especially younger people, they have more avenues to raise their grouses. Add the fact that they now have access to more information than those of previous generations.

Granted that information out there may not be authentic, then again, the only certainty about the information out there is that these info are at best the views of people, the fact that the pro establishment people failed to get their info to the people, especially younger people, is very telling.

To you, it may serve as induction. But who isn’t doing it ? Everyone is doing it. The difference is, the PR guys, the evangelists are doing it way better, far better than the pro establishment folks and all these pro establishment people can muster is, yelled that the PR people, and their evangelists allies are spreading lies.

Lies you say ? I don’t look at the stuff that’s being put out there as lies. They are just info. You make it work in your favor. If you can’t make it work in your favor, don’t blame the other side of being unscrupulous, of being despicable. Now had the tables turned, the pro establishment people been very successful with their brand of indoctrination, they would be singing a different tune.

War is after all deception. Just ask the Chinese.

      1. He’s trying to provoke people. But I like how he’s doing it. I m going to wait and see how people response. If people response rationally, then I may be tempted to believe that there’s still hope for our nation. But if people response with the usual name calling and issuing threats, then this country is doomed.

Will I hear people say stuff like

don’t provoke us or we will……
        hey Chinese………..
        get lost, this is Malaysia…………..

Opinion is divided. Its not that he wants the ashes be brought into the country. He’s testing to see if there’s space for dissent, for different opinions.

        I hope people are rational.

I still maintain that the next GE is the Obama moment. I hope the people are prepared for it, especially the pro government people. I really do. When the moment comes, they will have a lot of adjustment to make. Its not going to be easy for them.

For your info, I voted for the ruling coalition in GE13. To tell you the truth, after what has transpired the last couple of months, if GE14 were to take place tomorrow, my vote will go to PR, not because I like what they are doing or what they stand for, as on both counts, they are zeros, but because I want to send a message to the Coalition. That if you continue to do things with the old ways, you’re out.

        1. Re. He’s trying to provoke people.

And so many fall for it.

I have said time and again, Helen’s blog is “A Feel Good Channel” for some, for they just love to talk and talk and talk… in reality they have done nothing for this country except “PAYING TAXES” that the Malay/UMNO have benefited so much from according to them (AS IF).

Trust me there is no more nonsense taken by the GOMEN from now on. they may not have said it out loud but the action is real and for sure.

      2. Why do you assume I want the ashes of a dead Communist to be brought in?

What I wrote is a deputy minister from UMNO said there is no legal restriction on bringing back the Communist leader’s remains, even though he is against it.

If this man was from the MCA, you would have gone berserk and written three to four articles about him to poke the sentiments of your ultra-fanatical readership.

Then, when they move on to bash the Indians, you find it unfathomable why they do that.

    1. AC-DC, Chin Peng remained unrepentant till his last days. He even believed what he was doing was right and saw no need to apologize or ask for forgiveness. So why should the nation forgive him and allow his remains back?

  6. Ms H. Here is a true story. All and sundry have been harping on the remains of a dead individual for want of a better topic because there is no more tangible arguments left for the Opposition and the Singaporean Trojan Horse DAP.

    1. In 1949, a rubber tapper in my family rubber estate in North Johore was murdered. That was a loss of one innocent life. Uncle Chin did not press the trigger.

    2. In 1951, I began to read the Straits Times and all those killings everyday. I was quite frightened and studied very hard to go overseas (HY).

    3. In 1951, I sat in front of my classmate who was a recruit of the Auxilliary Police. He accidentally discharged his revolver and the bullet passed through my desk. Fortunately, I am still alive to tell the tale. Otherwise I would really be dead and the trigger was not pressed by the benign Uncle Chin. Such a nice fellow.

All those who were born after 1948 would not be affected but enjoyed the fruits of a nice life coupled with complacency as laid out for them by the Alliance and the BN. There has been no hardships or wars in our beloved Malaysia since 1957.

  7. Maybe to stop the animosity among the Chinese on Malays, UMNO should made a Tun out of Chin Peng and Mandarin be made Bahasa Kebangsaan for all Malaysians.

Apa lagi Cina mau? Maybe this will work…
