Aiyoyo, Najib lantik Wong Chun Wai jadi ahli lembaga pemegang amanah

Global Movement of Moderates (GMM)

Petikan lidah pengarang The Malaysian Insider kelmarin:

“Those who have been part of his entourage say that he is relaxed when away from home and loves pressing the flesh with foreign leaders and businessmen, talking about the Global Movement of Moderates and impressing them with his smooth delivery, sharp dressing and his ability to speak the language that Westerners like to hear.” — sumber: TMI (29 Sept 2013)

Sedutan (highlights) teks ucapan Perdana Menteri di New York kepada PBB dua hari lepas:
“Three years ago, I stood before you and called for a Global Movement of Moderates. It was a call to reject extremism in all its forms. […]
.
“As authoritarian regimes have fallen, and governments have been swept away by political change, extremists have tried to fill the space that remains. Motivated by ideology, politics and religion, they have sought refuge from the hard work of development in the unholy practice of violence. […]
.
“Our religion – founded on peace, and premised on tolerance – is being twisted by extremists, who are deploying false arguments to foster division and justify violence. Across the Islamic world, extremists are wrapping their perverse agenda in religious cloth; tearing families, countries and the ummah apart.
.
“With each new atrocity, tensions are wound tighter, and peace seems further away. The corrosive influence of extremism cannot be easily countered. But we are not powerless to act. I believe moderation in religion and the political process can stem the loss of life and liberty in the Muslim world.
.
“Behind the tragic violence, there is a battle being waged for the future of Islam. By reaffirming our commitment to moderation – and solving the political problems that drive instability – we can seize back the centre ground.
.
“And one of the most powerful tools we have to do so is al-wasatiyyah: the practice of moderation.”
.
“Moderation can be practiced at the national level, as is the case in Malaysia, by choosing mutual respect and inclusivity, and strengthening the bonds between different communities and faiths. …”

Politik Baru moderat J-Star

Ketua pengarah eksekutif (CEO) Global Movement of Moderates ialah Dato’ Saifuddin Abdullah.

Rujuk, ‘To recapture middle Malaysia in GE14, Umno needs Najib, Saifuddin says’ — laporan via Yahoo! News

    1. Sorry, your comment is filtered b’cos your language too harsh. — Helen

  2. Helen,
what do you expect…. All the top position created by the Government is not meant for you, me or any streetwise person. It was created for the rich and famous. Najib is not the person that will go down to the street and listen to the people. Since the end of the election has he been going to the street, so called 1Malaysia walk? That is meant for PR stunt. Nothing more.

He got the consultants (paid with the rakyat money) to advice him. After all that’s their job.

So to the normal citizen like you and me, don’t hope to much. We are on our own. Don’t rely and hopeful on the elected representatives as well, they are merely fishing for your vote. You have been taken for a ride, So the Malaysians.

Right now i on a survival mode.

  3. UMNO yg bermasalah.. Bahasa Kebangsaan di bawah telapak kaki setiap pemimpinnya. Jadi masakan ketam mengajar anaknya berjalan lurus Helen..

    1. You look at his brother Nazir.. can even hina the NEP his own father crafted….

      semua sudah lupa diri

Ini semua salah elitist UMNO yg lupa daratan

  5. Najib is loosing his marbles. Umno’s far right is manouvering. Pas is reevaluating. Anwar is telling i told you so. Dapsters are yelling hellajujah.

  7. Wah Betelham is spreading its powers round the world. Betelham gave birth to JStar in Pitt Street and Hairy Wong (hair growth tonic). In Betelham, we got KJ’s sleepy daddy in law and Artificial Inteligence (AI). In Betelham we got a living GOD and his ugly bald FLoP and his rainbow and not forgetting BoiBoi Chris.

    We are so blessed.

  8. Yeah, Najib of all people is needed in the World forum to prove that he is a moderate because he vehemently protects the word “Allah” only for Muslim use, he is moderate because his policies are all so racially extremist and he speaks louder each day in racially-motivated tones directly anti-chinese! He is a Global leader in Moderation that is best suited to take over the late Osama’s post !
    Hooray !

    1. Ordinary Malaysian who is only 25% of the population, thinks Arsenal is so Malaysian and who admits kissing the arse of the Brits. Malays are 60% of the population – aren’t the Malays more ordinary looking Malaysians.

Dumb ass. He (and similar creatures like that) should buy and populate his (their) own country.

  9. I find this revealing. What do you think ?

    http://www.anwaraidc.com/?p=39496

Their treatment of their Malay partners should serve as a cautionary tale to Malays as a whole.

I m still waiting for the Malay Muslim unity talk to commence. Any chance of this happening between now and 2018 ?

      1. Habislah kalau macam ni. Brainwash ! Tapi persoalannya, siapa yang kena brainwash ? Melayu atau bukan Melayu ?

          1. Aduh siapa lagi ?

Lepas tu buat benda-benda yang menyingung perasaan orang Melayu, orang Melayu jadi marah, kata orang bukan Melayu khususnya Cina biadap, kurang ajar, lepas tu kaum Melayu kena ejek orang Cina kata Melayu ni petty. Masalah pun timbul.

    1. Maybe you should enumerate logically based on current sentiments and issues to compare between UMNO and PAS. Yes, UMNO has its ups and downs and not without blemishes. But PAS is far more dangerous and unreliable for the progress of the Muslims and the status quo of the Malays.

No need to play the spinning game. Where do these parties stand on Islam and Bumiputera rights? UMNO wins my vote based on those two indicator.

PAS can’t even protect the word ALLAH from being manipulated by the evangelista. What can PAS do to help the Muslims and Islam besides insulting their fellow Muslims, getting bigger serban and dressing like an Arab? Nothing. All talk but they do nothing.

UMNO is the lesser evil. Given the chance in my constituency which is traditionally MCA vs PKR in the parliament and UMNO vs PAS in the State, I will definitely vote for independent for the parliament and UMNO for DUN in the future.

      1. Urbanized Muslim,

Agree with your above comment. The Malays have no choice but to vote for UMNO in GE 14. PAS has done nothing for the Malays and it even supports for kalimah Allah to be used by the non-Muslims. Nama saja parti Islam tapi it is not doing anything to protect the sanctity of Islam. Another glaring evidence is that PAS is in the same league as DAP, a Christian Evangelist party which one of its main agendas is to spread Christianity.

The commenter Nizam above if I’m not mistaken is an ardent PR supporter from the very beginning. He may not even be a Melayu.

        1. If UMNO let MCA contest at BTRazak in GE 14, I will go on vacation during the election day.

  10. IMHO if you are pitching your moderate Islam practices to woo potential investors, it would look more convincing to have a non-Muslim on your organization board. Better yet, gasp, a Christian.

The hypocrisy of not practicing what is preached back home aside, I do applaud Najib’s initiative in trying to capitalize on the Islamic middle ground void.

    Who knows, endless possibilities awaits.

      1. I watched Najib’s speech at UN last night. Frankly, it is very “mechanical” in term of tone and it doesn’t seems to come from his heart. You can see the reaction from the audience face i.e. boring face. It is not like Tun M, full of gumption and conviction. Najib sounded Pretentious…. plus one lousy speech writer that he has

        1. The way Najib wants to maintain a status quo in the PAU is also making me vomit. Najib tataule, desperate ke apa, bini tarak betuil, kabinet tak betul, consultans bersepah now Wong Cun Wai,.

          1. He will still get my vote not because I like him, but because giving vote to PAS and PKR means giving vote to DAP. Should PAS decide to get out from Pakatan than I “might” give it a second thought.

Anyway, I vote in Parlimen Batu. I will never ever give my vote to Tian Chua. I may give my vote to Independent Candidate the next round knowing that MCA is Hopeless and Useless DONKEY.

            1. LOL,

UMNO is really lucky. Majority of Malays chose UMNO in PRU13 as simply they had no choices.

And that is a wise decision after seeing PAS “submitting” to DAP and Anwar as “meroyan”.

The thing about UMNO leaders is that all of them won because of Malay votes. Unfortunately when they are in power, they are so “malu” to “defend’ the Malays.

One of them said he is Malaysian first. As if all of us believe Kit siang is Malaysian first. And Khairi chose Regina above all UMNO youth member as his secretary. Cant he find a decent , “beriman dan bertakwa” UMNO youth as his secretary?. One decent UMNO youth with “Iman dan takwa” whom I know personally would be Razlan from Seputeh(somewhere near Salak selatan)

NAJIB ON THE OTHER HAND is simply detached from reality. All because he has the irritating habit of listening those especially from group without “iman dan takwa”.

              .

          2. ‘The way Najib wants to maintain a status quo in the PAU is also making me vomit. Najib tataule, desperate ke apa, bini tarak betuil, kabinet tak betul, consultans bersepah now Wong Cun Wai,’

Najib muka tak malu, suruh orang Melayu pilih dia guna pintu belakang, without contest, kemudiaan appoint Komunis-loving-talam-dua-muka-tikam-belakang-DAP-sleepers WCW!!!

Yang bestnya bila dia sedaq diri masa kat CFR, tempat Anwar cari makan, kata kalau takdak MEB mungkin dia dah bungkus!!!

          1. When Tun M gave a speech to an audience somewhere in Africa not long ago, (I can’t recall whether it was in Sudan or Somalia), the whole cabinet cried.

Najib was very trying hard to create a persona which is not his at all. It reminds me of the movie the King Speech. His body language, facial expression, tone and eye contact all seems FAKE! FAKE! FAKE!

Whoever is coaching him with his speech must be one of those “DRAMA QUEEN OR KING”…

        1. Najib has no leadership qualities. The way he delivers his speeches makes me want to puke. BTW, the bloke who writes his speeches must be a dungu just like him.

          1. ‘Najib has no leadership qualities.’

He surely fails miserably as the ‘anak bapak’!

Now, few years into his leadership, he seems as clueless as Pak Lah did. He seems to listen blindly most of the time.

Tun M listen too, but he make his own mind on everything!

  11. Ironic is it not? When the Opposition was criticising Najib as a clueless, weak leader, who only knows how to throw money and branding consultants at an issue, they were labelled as traitors, pigs and snakes.

Now the very same Barisan Nasional supporters are criticising Najib with the very same words the Opposition has used. Nice to see it. :)

    1. re: ” Nice to see it. :) ”

Not a sight you will ever see in the DAP.

Malays, Umno members, Umno supporters, pro-establishment Malays all have the freedom to criticize Umno and the party’s leaders. Most times, it is these Umno Malays themselves who provide the most caustic criticism.

As for even the mildest criticism of the DAP paramount leaders to come from the Chinese opposition supporters themselves and not to be greeted by a fit of berserk from their compatriots, we wait lah until it snows in the Shara.

      1. Helen

        I beg to differ.

One need not go further than the comment section of this blog to find existential proof staunch apologists for UMNO who think their party can do no wrong very much alive and well. Let’s put it is this way, their tunnel vision is right on par, if not worse than those hardcore opposition supporters.

Obviously blind devotion sans rationale is not something exclusive to the opposition defenders.

        1. re: “staunch apologists for UMNO who think their party can do no wrong … blind devotion sans rationale is not something exclusive to the opposition defenders”.

Of course there are those who are always on the defensive (whenever Malays/Muslims are criticized) as a knee-jerk reflex.

Honestly speaking, they don’t really care to defend Umno the party, and anyone is allowed to bash Umno without getting torn into pieces by a pack of jackals. It is the perjuangan untuk Bangsa dan Agama that they defend.

It is different with the Chinese. They will not allow anyone to criticize Lim Guan Eng and the DAP. But anyone is free to criticize with impunity the MCA and the various Chinese interests (e.g. Say ‘No’ to hudud) that the MCA is upholding.

Here we’re talking about CRITICS, i.e. those willing to criticize their own party and Umno leaders.

e.g. Malay bloggers who support the establishment but nonetheless have been vocal in their criticisms as admitted by Syed Akbar Ali himself — “No. 2 – 5 (The Unspinners, dinturtle, APA and OutSyed The Box) are known as pro-BN Blogs that are critical of the Gomen” @ http://syedsoutsidethebox.blogspot.com/2013/09/outsyed-box-is-top-5-pro-bn-blog.html

An equivalent to Syed & Co. would be Chinese writers who support the opposition but can be allowed by the Dapster lynch mob to be critical of the DAP without these critics being subject to abuse and character assassination.

Can you name me the Chinese writer equivalents of The Unspinners, dinturtle, APA and OutSyed The Box who criticize DAP but are supportive of the opposition?

Parallel: Din Turtle is not called an “anjing PAS” just because he’s critical of Najib. But look at what critics of Guan Eng get called.

          1. Helen

Quote: “Can you name me the Chinese writer equivalents of The Unspinners, dinturtle, APA and OutSyed The Box who criticize DAP but are supportive of the opposition?”

Exactly! There is no opposition so-po blogs around anymore. Apart from those dubious fb groups, there is no more outlet for the opposition supporters to talk among themselves, so to speak. Let’s say after 2008, the decline of so-po blogs from the opposition side is alarming. What is left are opposition friendly online media for the supporters to sound off.

Quote: “Of course there are those who are always on the defensive (whenever Malays/Muslims are criticized) as a knee-jerk reflex.”

Don’t look now, you are making excuses for them. All I’m saying is just give those LGE defenders et al some leeway. They too are known for their knee-jerk reflex, no less.

Just ponder this, the opposition supporters are highly defensive of the Lims and their rocket simply because, this is the only retaliation they are capable of against the arms of the law and other legal machineries privy to the establishment. Right here, the offensive directed at Christianity, Trinity, Jesus, evangelists, Cina biadap are just everyday norm on the comments section. Now, just think, if such degradatory terms were used on, say, our official religion and its people, rest-assured you’ll be tracked down and dealt with.

Opposition supporters know they do not have the privilege of immunity to go on an attack indiscriminately. Since attack is out of the question, they resort to the safe bet of just blind defending. It’s the poor man’s version of retaliation.

Don’t get me wrong. Blind devotion on either side just makes me sick to the core. But I guess somebody ought to share why the immense love for the Lims.

            1. Edit to add:

DAP’s superman Hew is another member who is highly vocal about the party. It is unfortunate he writes mostly in Chinese.

It is easy to dismiss him as another Cinaman DAP politician with his speeches and all. Trust me, underneath his Chinabeng demeanor, lies a shrewd analytical mind.

Wish you can read how he sound off at Nga Kor Min!

              Cheers

              1. ‘…just think, if such degradatory terms were used on, say, our official religion and its people, rest-assured you’ll be tracked down and dealt with.’

Well for one. Islam is the Agama Persekutuan. I felt sorry that you are stranded here. I don’t have a choice not to live side by side with you either. So the feeling, or the ill feeling perhaps is mutual.

Secondly, we Muslims are keeping in line with Jesus’s tradition. Jesus was never a pacifist, is he?

If memory serves me right, Jesus as and his disciples are branded religious zealots by their detractors! The labels, we Muslims, are proud to call our own, if needs be.

                1. Islam1st,

Quote: “Well for one. Islam is the Agama Persekutuan. I felt sorry that you are stranded here. I don’t have a choice not to live side by side with you either. So the feeling, or the ill feeling perhaps is mutual.”

I am merely pointing out the reality on the ground. I don’t condone religious insults of any kind, but, surely you have to agree the legal repercussions on the issue of insult, differ greatly in this country between Islam and other faiths.

So? What’s with all the angst?

                  1. ‘I am merely pointing out the reality on the ground.’

                    Me too.

‘So? What’s with all the angst?’

I simply don’t sugar coat. The feeling is mutual.

‘…surely you have to agree the legal repercussions on the issue of insult, differ greatly in this country between Islam and other faiths.’

Well, there you go, Islam adalah Agama Persekutuan. PR’s Buku Jingga also had acknowledged this! Don’t you read it?

        2. Another classic example is The Star newspaper. As they do not follow Utusan’s extreme right wing stance (although they are still pro Barisan Nasional), they are attacked by people on this blog and accused of being covertly pro Opposition.

An ex-employee was chosen to work for Khairy Jamaluddin, and consequently there was a flow of successive anti-Khairy topics. If Mr. Khairy had employed, say, some person from The Sun or even Malaysiakini, there would have been a mere mention, at most.

      2. Karpal Singh, among all others have been at loggerheads with the rest of the DAP people. He still is rather formidable in there. There has also been criticism of DAP from other groups.

As for UMNO, we see how each faction goes into the classic form of ‘cantas-mencantas’ to pull the other team’s people down. If you happen to be affiliated with Khairy, expect the Mukhriz supporters to toss mud in an attempt to stop your appointment to the cabinet, GLC position, or government job. And vice versa.

        1. re: “Karpal Singh, among all others have been at loggerheads with the rest of the DAP people.”

Agree with you there. In those episodes, he had been called “traitor”, “turncoat” and accused of selling out to Umno by the Dapster fan boys.
