Kata Lim Kit Siang dalam kenyataan akhbarnya hari ini:
“To Malaysian men and women, these ‘irresponsible politicians‘ described by Najib are mostly to be found in Umno, and on a number of occasions not excluding Najib himself […] This illustrates the wide gulf between the thinking and perceptions of the Prime Minister and Malaysians of reason and moderation.”
Kit Siang menegaskan bahawa pihaknya bersifat sederhana dan bertolak ansur tetapi Umno dan penyokong parti itu tidak.

Mengikut laporan Malaysiakini, paderi Lawrence Andrew telah sengaja menyebut perkataan ‘Allah’ berkali-kali ketika beliau mengucap doa rahmat di jamuan teh sempena perayaan Krismas yang diadakan oleh Christian Federation of Malaysia (CFM) semalam.
Father Lawrence ialah pengarang The Herald.
Turut menghadiri Christmas Hi-Tea anjuran CFM itu ialah Uskup Besar Emeritus Murphy Pakiam, Rev Ng Moon Hing, Teresa Kok, Tian Chua, Nurul Izzah Anwar, Ahli Parlimen PKR Wangsa Maju Tan Kee Kwong (bekas parti Gerakan), Mujahid Yusof Rawa, Hannah Yeoh dan suaminya.
