According to blogger Sarah who’s our regular commenter, the word ‘bobal‘ is slang in the Negeri Sembilan dialect. ‘Bobal’ refers to the smarty pants behaviour of someone who thinks himself to be clever when in truth, he really lacks wisdom.
Are certain Malays put on a pedestal by the Jerusubangites because these Malays possess bobal in liberal doses?
“Dia nama Marina”
Dr Mahathir was recently asked by reporters on what he thought about his daughter Marina’s participation in a gathering to ‘protect’ the church.
Dr M’s response — video, minute 0:50 onwards:
“Saya fikir dia pasai, apanama, tindakan tu dianggap, apanama, keras sangatkah tapi itu saya tak tahu. Dia nama Marina.”
I leave readers to interpret for yourself Dr M’s acerbic (do watch the video) comment, “Dia nama Marina”.
Red roses for the Catholic father, brickbats to her own
Marina rubbishing Perkasa is seen as indirectly casting slurs on her father through his patronage of the organization.
She also threatened to sue another vocal Malay rights outfit, the Muslim NGO Isma.
Evangelistas “silently sharpening their claws”
Three medical students who are Isma activists share their views about the evangelistas in Malaysia
According to Muhammad Suhayl Musauddin, Mohamad Aiman Mohd Radzman and Aiman Azman, the evangelistas seem to be causing national discord.
The threesome wrote in their joint article that the evangelistas also appear to be getting more aggressive and direct in their activities while at the same time “silently sharpening their claws”.
“How much resources, manpower and wealth have they [the evangelistas] got in their coffers and from where does it come?” asked the three Isma activists while observing that the evangelical church is becoming “a source of power and inspiration among the Christian community”.
“Really understand the DANGERS of the evangelist Christians”
The Isma activists also believe that it is the job of the evangelistas to fulfill the agenda to “tarnish and smear the identity of religious institutions such as Jais and Jakim”, say the Isma trio.
And then when these Islamic institutions are sufficiently weakened, the human rights movement will “push the Evangelist agenda forward in making the country a more Christian-friendly country,” they added.
More urgently, Muhammad Suhayl and his friends reminded Muslims to “really understand the dangers of the Evangelist Christians, their tactics, their games, in order for us to build towards the desired Malaysian Muslim country. Not the other way around and side with them“.
Perkasa had made the very same complaint about Marina siding with the Christians.
(above) DUMC: “How do we win our city for Jesus?”
Some liberal Malays are obsessed with building bridges to churches.
Bobalians are at the gate because bridges are built for them to easily cross, to advance and to descend on the city.
Is Marina wise to be a bridge-builder or is she simply bobal?
