Apa lagi yang Najib boleh buat?

Former Utusan group editor and ex-Information Minister Zainuddin Maidin has written a good summary of Najib Razak.

I’m listing Zam’s observations in bullet points below.

THE BANGSAWAN

His strengths:

  • Najib dapat mengawal emosinya
  • bertoleransi
  • bertolak ansur
  • bermaafan

In short, Najib displays “pegangan kuat kepada tradisi politik [Umno]” or the best of Umno prime ministerial traditions in the spirit of Dato’ Onn — aristocrat and gentleman.

THE WAFFLER

His weaknesses:

  • sikap indecisive

All the quotes in BM above are taken from the Tan Sri’s blog, Zamkata (16 Jan 2014).

“Najib bergerak macam kura-kura”

The ISA abolition

Zam made a further pointed observation about the PM’s ineffectualness, saying “jika berikan ISA pada Najib pun tidak akan berkesan”.

Zam has also this to say:

Zam’s Najib the Tortoise critique follows up with a point to ponder:

“Apakah kerana hendak menunjukkan kebebasan Mahkamah maka kerajaan tidak mahu campurtangan  mempercepatkan keputusan dalam perkara yang panas dan  runcing. Siapakah yang percaya kepada kebebasan Mahkamah? Adakah Najib masih percaya rakyat akan kembali menyokong kerajaan dengan menunjukkan kebebasan Mahkamah?”

My views

Nothing can satisfy the opposition — NOTHING!

Zam asks if Najib truly believes that the public will return their support to the government if the Court appears to have made an impartial decision.

The truth of the matter is that when a court decision favours the opposition, their supporters will say that it merely shows how at least one brave judge is incorrupt. However when the court decides against them, they will say that the whole judiciary is under Umno’s thumb.

1MalaysiapinWith the oppo people, nothing that the government does is right. And the government can do no right in their eyes either. Let Najib auction all his wife’s Birkin bags for charity, book her in economy class flights, pack her off to live in a pekan … you can rest assured that nothing can ever appease the bloodthirsty Pakatan-voting public.

Najib has been faithfully wearing the 1Malaysia pin on his lapel for more than 3 years, abolished the ISA and tried to roll back Malay privileges yet he is ridiculed by the Dapsters day in day out. He even endorsed the 10-point solution to share ‘Allah’ with the Christians but still the evangelistas stick their venomous scissors into his back.

What more can Najib do? Telan dan terus telan aje segala tohmahan?

  1. Berundur je lah Najib… Gantikan dengan Muhyiddin je. Gandingan Muhyiddin dengan Zahid barulah mantap!

    1. Affin,

      What Najib can do?

“Baliklah ke pangkal jalan:. Let us be honest here. Najib’s strategy is to please those literally want him , UMNO , Malay, islam dead.

Another mind boggling strategy of Najib is to antagonise the very people who defend his government. And, MPKN is filled with those known for saying nothing good about UMNO. Cant he appoint say Dr Ramlah Adam, Dr Ridhuan Tee instead.

Najib refuses to act . He let problems get bigeer and bigger. Compare that tun Dr mahathir who “sumbat” politicians playing with racial card into ISA. and that included those from UMNO and MCA.

DR Mahahir until today is hated. Yet he is respected. No body would want to “sumbat” kangkong into his effigy. They simply know Tun will not hesitate to act.

    2. Salah tu…Zahid & [….?..]. Muhyidin tak layak jadi No. 2, nombor 1 apa lagi. Dia tu penakut. Kena sergah sikit dgn some Chinese group dah gelabah, tak mengaku keluarkan kenyataan tu kenyataan ni, kena misquoted dsb. Hisham pun penakut. Kena kutuk cium keris pun mintak maaf kpd pengkritik. Bukan buat collection private jets!

  2. Zainuddin Maidin??

People such as Zainuddin Maidin are part of the problem that causes people to become cynical and sceptical of the government. His career as Information Minister was a joke. To listen to this man and his silly suggestions will only turn Barisan Nasional’s gradual decline into a deep dive.

Najib may wear the 1Malaysia lapel, but he supported Zulkifli Noordin and Ibrahim Ali’s candidacy in the elections among other things. He allowed Utusan to continue with its race and religious baiting and closed one eye to the newspaper’s hate campaigns of the minority scapegoat of the season. Billions of ringgit were spent on consultancy fees, dubious projects and schemes while people are finding it harder to cope with rising living costs.

    1. re: “he supported Zulkifli Noordin and Ibrahim Ali’s candidacy in the election”

And DAP put up as their candidates Tony Pua who thinks the government agencies are “anjing Umno”, Jeff Ooi who thinks that low-ranking government staff are “kucing kurap” and Hannah Yeoh who thinks that BN politicians are “low class”.

      1. Mangosteens and apples. Have they threatened to burn holy books, holy war, and ethnic riots?

Jeff Ooi is, from what I have heard, not a pleasant person.

      2. Some sound advice from a really good human being for our brethren in the opposition camp, and may be all camps anyway.
