Dr Mahathir replying to a reporter’s question on Anwar’s power grab:
“Tentulah saya takut kerana orang akan rasa tak selamat bila dia ada di sekitar.
“Tengok apa jadi kepada kakitangan beliau.”
Hahaha, Dr M’s acerbic wit is hilarious.

Anwar is Dr M’s burden to bear
The worst thing that could have happened to Umno was Anwar Ibrahim.
I believe Dr M’s tenacity in remaining politically relevant at his age (he’s going on 90!) is due to his feeling of deep contrition. He wishes to make amends to his beloved country because Anwar is his mistake (misjudgment in promoting the chameleon) foisted on us.
Dr M was the one responsible for providing the ladder that enabled Anwar’s political ascendency. It thus becomes Dr M’s responsibility to check Anwar’s advance into Putrajaya.
If you’re anyone with some knowledge of Umno politics and its recent history, you will be aware of the extent and kind of irrevocable damage that Anwar inflicted on the party.
And if you’re anyone who cares about Umno’s survival and its future, you will realise the extent and kind of damage that Anwar 2.0 aka Khairy Jamaluddin is capable of inflicting on the party.
Poll here
Anwar 2.0
If Anwar was the worst thing that could have happened to Umno, then the worst thing that is happening to the party now is Anwar 2.0 aka Khairy.
In 2004 when his father-in-law was at the pinnacle of power – Umno won 109 seats in GE11 – KJ was anointed Umno Youth deputy chief without any contest. Dr Mahathir had been critical of the red carpet rolled out in welcome for THE Son-in-Law.

What will KJ do to Umno?
Malaysia’s 5th premier had allowed his SiL the run of the PMO. If you know any senior civil servants, please do ask them about the havoc that the young upstart had wreaked on the government.
In fact, the FiL-and-SiL wreaking ball was so disastrous that Malaysia’s 4th premier was prompted to resign his Umno membership as a signal of his displeasure and disapproval.
“There is no love lost between Dr Mahathir and Khairy,” opines Joceline Tan (The J-Star, 5 Feb 2010).
Joceline quotes sources as saying that Dr M’s campaign against Khairy is due to the party stalwart’s concern about the survival of Umno with KJ on board.
KJ unfit to be minister and left out of 2008 cabinet
Dr Mahathir is correct in his negative appraisal of KJ. Being as usual ahead of the curve, Dr M is light years in front when it comes to political acumen.
He had foreseen the Obama Effect favouring the DAP-led opposition through the clustering of ethnic minority votes, and in his Gelang Patah ultimatum, the Tun predicted the demise of the BN kongsi spirit should the Chinese totally abandon the ruling coalition.
KJ was a big disaster to Umno. Sleepy Dollah’s unpopularity was one of the main factors for the BN washout, and one of the main reasons for Tun Dol’s unpopularity was his biadab Son-in-Law.
Under Abdullah Badawi’s watch, Umno had suffered a loss of 30 seats within one election cycle (2004-2008). In the 12th general election, Umno only managed to obtain 79 seats even though the expanded 2008 Parliament offered up more seats for grabs than the 2004 Parliament.

Anwar the ori version is beginning to dabble in church politics, something which discomfits the Malays (meaning Umno grassroots).
The activities of Anwar 2.0 is equally a discomfort. KJ is really a Dapster. You can tell this from the Malaysiakini and J-Star coverage given him. The rule of thumb is that the more the Christian media loves a fella (e.g. The Malaysian Insider‘s love affair with Mujahid Yusof), the more that fella is bad for the Malay cause and struggle.
No doubt KJ is popular but his popularity is of the evangelista-Dapster kind. His personal popularity will not herd the votes in the BN’s direction.
Khairy’s track record shows up the Dapster double standards. Evangelistas preach anti-corruption but their Firster faction exalt the Youth Minister because, like Saifuddin Abdullah, Khairy is an Anak Bangsa Malaysia.
These oppo supporters don’t care that KJ was found guilty of “money politics” by Umno’s own disciplinary board just as they don’t care that Anwar is a recycled product. To them, Anwar sudah di’Bersih’kan since he is no longer in Umno.
Again, the basic law of Malaysian New Politics is that the louder the opposition cheers for a politician (usually of the Firster kind), the more the said politician is bad news for Umno.

Najib is Santa Claus who bestowed billions in budget on the Khairy ‘ministry’ (pun intended).

why you so envious of regina one? been looking at her twitter pic on your page, quite a babe lah. LoL
It boggles me that people are “envious” of my blog and carry out the drive-by shootings.
Helen,
For as long as I can remember, I am not comfortable with Khairi. I have “phobia” on those who has easy way out.
Khairi became a household name simply due to is marriage to the daughter of then PM. And due to influence of his father in law, he overtook more senior UMNO Pemuda to be Naib ketua.
Soon he started to ridicule Dr Mahathir. That caused uMNO losing Kedah to PAS.
Above all, he being the UMNO youth Chief is unable to find a decent, capable ( and more importantly :beriman”) UMNO youth to be his political secretary. instead, he chose Regina. and we all know her political inclination.
It is tantamount to appoint your enemy to be your gate keeper.
So, do not be surprise when Malays nowadays are fod of saying “ina lillah…” to UMNO. That phrase is only used when a Muslim being told of another Muslim’s death.
re: “he being the UMNO youth Chief is unable to find a decent, capable ( and more importantly :beriman”) UMNO youth to be his political secretary. instead, he chose Regina.”
Beware, nanti yahweh melayu kata you “envious” of Regina’s job and want it for one of your anak buah.
Helen,
More alarming is UMNO leadership”s total indifference to Khairi’s perception on UMNO, Malays.
He insulted UMNO by saying “syok sendiri” when the reality is that he is the one who “syok sendiri”.
re: “he is the one who syok sendiri”
It reminds me of the time KJ tried to takeover Jamil Khir Baharom’s portfolio as de facto Minister of Religious Affairs.
Khairy gave Regina Lee’s husband (a J-Star reporter) a scoop on the Bible-Allah issue discussed by cabinet even before Najib or JKB publicly spoke about it. See, https://helenang.wordpress.com/2014/01/27/pembocoran-maklumat-sensitif-daripada-pejabat-menteri-umno/
Helen,
UMNO is destroyed from within.
It is people like khairi that make Malays feel stupid to vote for UMNO. I cant stand UMNO leaders who choose to contest in “kawasan pekat Melayu” and yet so apologetic.
If khairi’s support transcend racial boundary, go and contest in seremban or PJ in next election. Let us see whether he can garner votes from non Malay community.
me not “envious” of your blog lah helen, i really like some of your writitngs. to yb kitol i’m not so sure, regina makes me sikit2 envious of him. LoL
Okay lah, since you’re here for the sake of liking some of my writings, I’m willing to call a truce.
re: “Regina makes me sikit2 envious of him”
Ouch, Nori.
Btw, you are misrepresenting yourself in using the ‘melayu’ moniker.
Its ok Helen, Melayus and ‘melayu’ had been hijacked by all sort of monkeys already, the real Melayus had felt immune!
you really have a foul mouth, must be that islam1st thingy yeah
I say it loud and clear aren’t I? I didn’t know you have masalah mengeja. Not so godly after all!
dalam surat beranak saya tercatit bangsa ialah “melayu” ….. i’m stuck with it
Your surat beranak detail would also cause Islam’ to be printed on the bottom right corner of your MyKad.
And I’d thought that I was rare being in the less than 10 percent of Chinese who do not support the DAP and open about it. (The peer pressure is like a ton of bricks.)
I guess we’re in the same boat then — a minutest of minority.
Gua also tak support DAP… racist idiots…
Re. I’m stuck with it
You should relinquish all the privileges that come with the term “Melayu” as well then, now that you and your offspring can do without it anyway.
I vote KJ as Prime Minister of Aedes.
Aedes? You mean the mosquitoes? Reminds me of the dengue death toll for this year (2 months into 2014 and we have 22 fatalities) and that RTM2 dikir barat that sings to the chorus of “A.I.D.S merbahaya, Aedes pula mengancam manusia….”

But a drop of ink can spoil a whole pot of milk.
For those of us who haven’t perused President Lincoln’s letter to his son’s Head Master:
Respected Teacher,
My son will have to learn I know that all men are not just, all men are not true. But teach him also that for ever scoundrel there is a hero; that for every selfish politician, there is a dedicated leader. Teach him that for every enemy there is a friend.
It will take time, I know; but teach him, if you can, that a dollar earned is far more valuable than five dollars found.
Teach him to learn to lose and also to enjoy winning.
Steer him away from envy, if you can.
Teach him the secret of quiet laughter. Let him learn early that the bullies are the easiest to tick.
Teach him, if you can, the wonder of books.. but also give him quiet time to ponder over the eternal mystery of birds in the sky, bees in the sun, and flowers on a green hillside.
In school teach him it is far more honorable to fail than to cheat.
Teach him to have faith in his own ideas, even if every one tells him they are wrong.
Teach him to be gentle with gentle people and tough with the tough.
Try to give my son the strength not to follow the crowd when every one is getting on the bandwagon.
Teach him to listen to all men but teach him also to filter all he hears on a screen of truth and take only the good that comes through.
Teach him, if you can, how to laugh when he is sad. Teach him there is no shame in tears. Teach him to scoff at cynics and to beware of too much sweetness.
Teach him to sell his brawn and brain to the highest bidders; but never to put a price tag on his heart and soul.
Teach him to close his ears to a howling mob… and to stand and fight if he thinks he’s right.
Treat him gently; but do not cuddle him because only the test of fire makes fine steel.
Let him have the courage to be impatient, let him have the patience to be brave. Teach him always to have sublime faith in himself because then he will always have sublime faith in mankind.
This is a big order; but see what you can do. He is such a fine little fellow, my son.
signed,
Abraham Lincoln.

Does that man sound like he would be the ideal leader of our beloved country?
Yup. BTW Chris, does he really believe in the Unitarian Church too? If yes. Yup. Yup.
I do think so too. Texe Marrs, Chris.
Texe Marrs.
I think Mr. Lincoln didn’t belong to any particular denomination, and he even once wrote a treatise titled “Infidelity” in which he among other things, also disclaimed the divinity of Jesus Christ; but which his friends in horror promptly threw into the fire before it could see publication. However, all who knew him have acceded of his deeply religious sentiments; he was just unconventional within normative Christianity.
what follows is lifted from:
http://blogs.chicagotribune.com/news_columnists_ezorn/2008/04/did-abraham-lin.html
“It is said that Abraham Lincoln was in many ways the most deeply spiritual person ever to occupy the White House. In the same 1866 interview with William Herndon where Mary said that her husband “was not a technical Christian,” whatever that might mean, she also said that “he was a religious man always” who “had a Kind of Poetry in his Nature.” Certainly no one who reads the Second Inaugural Address, Lincoln’s profound meditation on God’s role in earthly events and the proper response thereto, can doubt this.”
He also had on record resisted the ‘evil bankers cartel’. But can’t continue with the resistance when they slapped him a brutal and expensive civil war.
Chris please tell us more on this episode. I had always enjoy the links you’ve provided us. Especially the video links. Thanks.
he is dead! :))
Haiii…Khairi (sigh) jangan kau suruh orang mengaku kau tu Tuhan sudah le, tengok saja sebelah mata kau tu…
