Tun Dr Mahathir blogged the following paragraph today in CheDet:

mahathir“Actually quite a few people said to me that BRIM is bribe especially when given just before elections. It is the same as giving people placards to raise when you pass. It does not really reflect their feelings or sentiments. Those feelings are better expressed through the votes they cast.”

Ha ha ha ha ha.

The placards do not really reflect the feelings of those who were waving them, said the Tun. The real sentiments are better gauged through who (which party) got their votes.

Now the rumour mill will grind even more furiously.

    This BR1M isn’t going to help BN win the hearts of the fence sitters or the non-partisan groups.

    I thought its an election gimmick that would end when GE13 ended.

    The money is better used to give piped water to the Kelantanese.

      Or distribute in kind like Beras, minyak, ikan bilis.. on a monthly coupon basis to those really in need – yg betoi2 kebuluran setidaknya tiap hari dapat makan bubur dan alas perut!

      The 1st yr they distributed RM100 to schoolkids, I saw many students beratur to main judi tikam2 keluar bola kartoon dekat kedai2 Apek.. and the Apek2 grinning like kerang busuk!

      1. Lets see how much did they give out, is it RM500?
        Around RM40 a month… hmmm and making so much noise?

        Students RM 100 ie RM8 per month… hmmm RM2 per week! Pergi sekolah hari2 sekadar bekal gula2 aje ni!

        For the truly tryly poor… sad indeed.

  2. BRIM if really do it in an effective manner it will reduce the burden of the poor ie. Reduce or eliminate subsidies so those who did not eligible for BRIM will pay more especially the rich. Reduce income tax when GST take effect.

  4. Najib tidak mewarisi kebijaksanaan bapanya dalam membela nasib orang Melayu dan miskin.

    Antara jasa TAR yang amat bermanfaat dan dapat dilihat sehingga kini ialah pembangunan FELDA. Orang Melayu dan miskin diberi tanah dan rumah untuk memulakan hidup baru. Hasil FELDA, kelapa sawit dan getah meningkatkan hasil negara dan ekonomi makin berkembang. Ramai masyarakat FELDA sekarang hidup senang.

    Bentuk pertolongan begitu yang diperlukan bukan beri wang setahun sekali. Setakat beri RM650.00 apalah yang dapat dibuat. Hidup sebatang kara pun jumlah ini tidak cukup menyara kehidupan sebulan! Seperti kata TDM perbelanjaan untuk BRIM ini berbillion. Hasilnya dapat ke dibuktikan?

    Many Christian faiths believe and teach about a future, end-times event when all true believers who are still alive before the end of the world will be taken from the earth by God into heaven. The term describing this event is “the Rapture.”

    Although the term “rapture” is not found in the Bible, the theory is based on Scripture. Those who accept the Rapture theory believe that all non-believers on the earth at the time will be left behind for the tribulation period. Most Bible scholars agree the tribulation period will last for seven years, the final seven years of this age, until Christ returns to set up his earthly kingdom during the Millennium.

    The English word “rapture” is derived from the Latin verb “Rapere” meaning “to carry off,” or “to catch up.”

    It is probable then that many of our local Christians are suffering premonitions about the tribulations of the Anti-Christ, whether it be the truth or not. One wonders if Mr. Mujahid himself will be swept off his feet to join the Christians should such a rapture occur in the future? Of course his political party president have given us all a big scare with his radicalism as manifested in the Ibrahim Libya and Al-Maunah violent revolutionism.
