Sebagai memperingati peristiwa rusuhan kaum tahun 1969, DAP beserta Gereja dan berpuluh buah NGO pro-pembangkang telah mengeluarkan sebuah kenyataan sempena tanggal 13 Mei kelmarin.
DAP dan Majlis Gereja Malaysia (CCM: Council of Churches of Malaysia) menyuarakan azam mereka dalam “mempertahankan keamanan, kasih-sayang, keterangkuman dan kebebasan di Malaysia pada ulangtahun ke-45 Rusuhan 13hb Mei, kejadian keganasan politik paling teruk dalam sejarah Malaysia sepanjang 51 tahun”.
Kenyataan bersama DAP, Gereja dan NGO-NGO itu berpegang bahawa:
“Malaysia, seperti yang dibentuk pada 1963 dengan penggabungan Malaya, Sabah, Sarawak dan ketika itu Singapura, diniatkan sebagai satu negara dalam keamanan, kasih-sayang, keterangkuman dan kebebasan, dan bukannya satu negara yang didominasi oleh keganasan, kebencian, pengucilan dan ketakutan.”
Mereka juga berkata:
“Tidak mengira apa perbezaan-perbezaan di antara kita, keganasan, kebencian, pengucilan dan ketakutan tidak boleh dan tidak patut digunakan oleh mana-mana pihak, sama ada daripada pihak pemerintah atau tidak, untuk mengejar agenda mereka.”
Nampaknya DAP dan Gereja membayangkan bahawa orang lain lah yang sengaja memupuk Keganasan, Kebencian, Pengucilan (exclusion) dan Ketakutan manakala diri mereka pula sudah pastinya mendokong Keamanan, Kasih-sayang, Keterangkuman dan Kebebasan.

“The more things change the more they stay the same”.
The Chinese believe that the only thing that is permanent is change, but with every change that comes, things will revert to its prior state, back to where it all began.
Thus the Chinese view the world as a circle while westerners see the world as a straight line, where every change leads to an ultimate conclusion.
You see the difference between the way these 2 peoples see the world.
One is wise enough to realize that nothing changes. It all comes back to where it began, therefore to face change, one adapts to change. The other worldview, that of seeing the world as a straight line, is a fool’s way of seeing the world. It believes that it can influence change, that it has the capacity to shape change and the more it tries to effect change, the more troubles it creates.
You can see the folly of the opposition. The provocations they effect, the attacks they launch at those who oppose them, the more people, particularly Muslims, they provoke.
Only the Chinese who understand Tao philosophy and/or subscribe to the Buddhist doctrine of impermanence get this.
The rest are either too focused on material things, following rituals without much thought or have embraced the linear and simplistic dualist world view you described above.
Most Cinas, presumably Buddhist don’t even practice sila in their daily life to begin with. I doubt the Dharma way is their way of life. Lets not kid ourselves just yet.

They have been arround long enough for the Malay / Muslim to understand their trough colour . They didn’t show what they preached .
