Can gomen take action against Dyana for pretending to be qualified?

Regular commenter Mulan @ 2014/05/29 at 11:45 am has pointed out that Section 37 (1)(b) of the Legal Profession Act 1976 stipulates:

Any unauthorized person who—

wilfully or falsely pretends to be, or takes or uses any name, title, addition or description implying that he is duly qualified or authorized to act as an advocate and solicitor, or that he is recognized by law as so qualified or authorized, shall be guilty of an offence and shall on conviction be liable to a fine not exceeding two thousand five hundred ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or to both.

Mulan also says that “lawyer” is a protected word.

  1. Pretending no la unless she practice without the proper qualification. But then even the law allows, I don’t think UMNO dare to sue.

  2. Orang orang cina mesti fikir satu perkara. Mak papa si Dyana ni orang orang UMNO sudah tentu anak dididek dari kecil ikut fikiran dan semangat UMNO.

    Tapi sekarang peluang telah diberi oleh musuh diatas apa sebab pun untuk ia menjadi mp yg termuda. so why not. Orang nak kata apa pun tak apa, aku akan buat bodoh saja.

    Oops forgot – the individual in question is an opposition member and therefore is protected.

    Then BERSIH 2.0 please do the needful or is there a need to bring this matter to switzerland where they are registered.

Blame the dull, colourless and obstinate Singaporean Trojan Horse DAP one man leadership for dishing out swallows, ducks, tycoons, dying cancer patients, etc as their honourable candidates. They might be eying the 2 Giant Chinese Pandas for future use soon.

  5. Well it is the Bar Council that should be taking action rather than the govt. But then Dyana is part of the Pakatoon (rhymes with baboons) tribe who have the legal immunity and can do no wrong.

    Opps, sorry I forgot that the Bar Council itself is the legal arm of the Pakatoons.

  6. Actually, she might turn out to be a liability to the DAP in the future. She seems to be swayed by her emotions and self-importance. She’s sure to win because of the mass Chinese votes, but I’m not too sure if her support to the DAP will endure.

    She appears to revel in being courted and flattered. Who knows, if UMNO sends a handsome, kaya highly eligible “agent” to tackle her, she might swing back to UMNO.

    I mean, look at the DAP members, not what one might term “leng chai.”

    Young female hormones and all. You never know.

  7. Takleh helen..he..he.. jenis Dap mana ada undang2 atau peraturan. Mereka buat undang2 sendiri. Kekebalan untuk sendiri (atasan sahaja…bawah tidak..) Dap Dinasti Lim kan ? Dengar kabar dinasti ini nak di hidupkan di China, betul ke ? Malaysia memang tak boleh.

    Bila politik jalanan jadi amalan, who are these people anyway ?

    Sebenar nya gomen malas nak layan…buang masa. Kat Xian itu lebih baik budi bahasa nya. Islam nya oun cantik. Bukan macam Pas.
