Scary thought, ain’t it, that Dyana could still manage to garner a total of 19,919 votes.
Why scary ah?
Eh, not scary meh? Cuba lah tengok dengan biji mata sendiri.
DAP musang, Dyana bulu ayam
Kit Siang was the Big Daddy presence that loomed darkly throughout the DAP Teluk Intan campaign. Shadowing his youthful protege, DAP’s old Mursyidul Am was never separated a moment from his other half of the odd couple.
Dyana’s opponent Mah Siew Keong was clearly his own man. The same cannot be said of the DAP candidate — you don’t know who she really is and what she stands for once the pretty packaging is unwrapped.
In fact, you’re left wondering if it would not have been more honest to just put the Kit Siang brand name on the ballot.
When the mask slips
The “mic snatching” leitmotif that characterized the Dyana train wreck has already been popularly highlighted.
Less pronounced in the general public awareness is the fact that Dyana’s media conferences – during the rare times that she was given the opportunity to speak for herself – did not extend beyond what a veteran journo called “a few well-rehearsed lines”.
Here’s an anecdote recounted by the redoubtable Joceline:
“One spunky reporter decided to corner her while she was campaigning in town.
Dyana dodged the reporter, who in her frustration, asked why she was afraid to answer the question.
The beautiful face slipped briefly and the reporter was rewarded with a scowl. It was not even a tough question, just something about electricity tariff rates in Perak given that Dyana had pledged to speak out on cost of living issues.”
A liar and a hypocrite
Bill Clinton came close to being impeached for his lie, “I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Ms Lewinsky.”
Dyana’s immortal line about her mother is “She did not join Perkasa”. That’s a blatant lie — see photo above.
Not only was mammy Yammy the first Wanita Perkasa chief, daughter Dyana herself participated in Perkasa functions (photo below).
Trust the J-Star’s evangelistas to do their darndest to cover up this damning detail.
The DAP “brothers and sisters”
Dyana also declares: “My brothers and sisters in DAP have made me realise that it is possible to be a true Malaysian without obliging hypocrisy”.
Huh?
Hypocrisy is how “DAP had demonised Perkasa and condemned anyone remotely connected to Datuk Ibrahim Ali (photo below). Yet, DAP said that Dyana’s mother’s ultra-Malay connections was a ‘small matter‘,” Joceline highlighted.
3N — “No integrity, No honesty and No sincerity” was what Penang BN chairman Teng Chang Yeow described Dyana. Even the PAS people noted that Dyana was No Tudung when visiting the Chinese areas. Her tutup aurat adherence can simply be slipped on and off, like the different faces she wears for different occasions.
What’s equally hypocritical is Dyana saying, “While a student in UiTM, I noticed the discrepancy where rich children of Umno leaders were admitted into UiTM while poorer but more qualified non-Umno linked families were shut out.”
The dirty laundry is now being aired on how her own mother got rich through Yammy’s party position and connections as well as the abundant benefits conferred upon Umno offspring [Dyana’s education paid for].
Liar, liar Dyana’s DAP pants are on fire.
What it reveals of the Dapsters
Come GE14, the DAP could jolly well give a safe Chinese urban seat, such as Zairil’s Bukit Bendera (74% Chinese voters), for Dyana to contest.
However the recently concluded Teluk Intan by-election is telling about the kind of people Dapsters are. Dyana only lost very narrowly. And it can be said that this greenhorn collected almost as many votes as the president of a BN component party.
To the pro-establishment side, Dyana has been effectively exposed. To the Dapsters, it is Dyana’s critics who are at fault — “Why get so obsessed and worked up to the extent of defaming her for something not true? You must be deranged to descend to such low level and resort to such depraved tactic and personal attack.”
What the Dapsters say:
(1) You [BN people] are overly obsessed
(2) Deconstructing Dyana is a sign you’re too worked up
(3) You all [“stupid” BN people] are low class
(4) You use depraved tactics
(5) You’re making personal attacks
In short, you’re not allowed to reveal that Dyana lied and that she has no substance. But they – the DAP fanboys – are perfectly at liberty to promote and market Dyana as the greatest thing since sliced bread.
And the Dapsters dare claim that they want to inject a Check & Balance into the system.

Defending the freedom of choice
Some Malays are up in arms that Dyana, who hails from UiTM and an Umno family, has joined the DAP as Kit Siang’s political secretary.
The Dapsters vociferously defend Dyana’s right to choose and they hail her choice of DAP. But when the issue was about Alifah Ting Abdullah’s similarly deserved freedom to side with Isma, the berserk Dapsters went on their ‘KILL’ mode.
Let’s take the exact same defence the Dapsters made for Dyana and apply them to Alifah, shall we?
“Why get so obsessed and worked up to the extent of defaming Alifah for something not true? You must be deranged to descend to such low level and resort to such depraved tactic and personal attack.”
But of course we’re too familiar with the Dapster double standards where what is good for the goose is not applied to the gander.
And they even mock Alifah by taunting her as a cheap mercenary who ought to join politics and contest a seat: “Hey, Ikatan Muslimin Malaysia (Isma) Youth wing member Alifah Ting Abdullah, your comment also makes sense. Sorry no dollar but a couple of sen. It makes bigger sense if you contest in Teluk Anson. Big money. Hurry, get Isma or Perkasa’s blessing” — see yellow highlight, below.
How typical of the Dapsters to try to drag Alifah down to their darling Dyana’s gutter level. Does it thus surprise anyone that Isma believes the DAP to be a form of cancer that the country must be rid of?
(1,025 words)

Ms H. For the very first time, I honestly and holistically (I copy) think that the dull, colourles and obstinate DAP leadership has made a serious mistake by using a young and naive person from another community for their own ends.
I have seen how the PAP cadres used swallows in the Malaya Hall London elections in 1957 and by its Government right up to 2014. But by this act and ignoring unwritten precepts and beliefs, the DAP leadership underlines that it has used up all the white rabbits out of the hat and is now in a true dilemma of how to keep its ranks of supporters together for more battles against the BN as led by the UMNO with its 15 components to come.. I now truly believe the Singaporean Trojan Horse DAP is a non-starter led by an indifferent leadership !
re: “a young and naive person”
Almost 20,000 Pakatan supporters in Teluk Intan gave their stamp of approval to endorse that she is MP material and someone capable of leading a constituency with 60,500 voters.
So who is the naive one — Dyana or DAP voters?
some of them want to use you
some of them want to be use by you
some of them want to abuse you
some of them want to be abuse
LOL, agree with the line “some of them want to be abused” … should make Sweet Dreams the theme song for the sado-masochistic Dapsters.
Ms H. Please read my comments in Chedet’s ‘Malaysia according to lky’. The Singaporeans have finally woken up after being conned for 2 generations and the following

http://www.tremeritus.com/2014/06/03/the-silence-of-fear/
and the very interestin comments.
Ms H. Fools are born everyday as are wise men or women.
Ms H. I have made suggestions to turn 238 majority to 23,800 majority by the next General Elections.
Re So who is the naive one — Dyana or DAP voters?
Allow me to explain. Dyana = Holy Water. DAP supporters who voted for her = Consumers.
Now you understand ? :)
I can likened Dyana’s situation to the very poor gullible villager living in very isolated jungle areas.
Udang galah in remote plantation areas merely for RM3/ kg. however villagers were not permitted to sell them to us. Apeks from town monopolized these yummy mountain fresh prawns using barter trading, eg a RM2k generators for ALL their catch. JENUH kau Dyana terpaksa ghedah sungai, banyak buaya tuuuu! After generator a TV, food items hmmm they can supply anything those villagers needed, just get them their prawns.
As for the 19K DAP voters, these are hardcore DAP voters out to siphon whatever this land has to offer to enrich themselves and their clans including those living oberseas. Malaysia turns upside down or downside up is non of their business… don’t care wan..
Helen, let’s get it right. 20,000 voters did not vote for Dyana, they blindly voted DAP.
Yes, a wilful blindness that is most dangerous.
Like her or loathe her, Dyana is at the end of the day just one individual whereas the DAP is very successfully roiling the masses to seethe with hate and resentment. These huge numbers absolutely refuse be persuaded by facts stacked a mile high.
But what’s worse than blindly following are the DAP evangelistas who should know better (i.e. able to evaluate Dyana’s personal shortcomings) but choose not to because their relentless, self-righteous ABU agenda takes top priority.
Dyna Sofya a UITM student who has participated in many many programmes that can be viewed as pro UMNO. Among them, she helped her mother in the registration of Perkasa members. I don’t blame her. She is not lying but telling the truth as the events unfold. If that lie is a great sin.
Helen, how about the thousands of lies spread by all UMNOBN leaders. Muhiddin even lied to the elctorate that DAP does not respect the late Sultan Azlan’s death as they were found to be carrying out election programmes the same night. The fact was UMNOBN organized programmes openly the same night.
What about lies by Najib during the PRU 13. What about the lies of the UMNOBN bloggers spreading bikin clad Phillipine actress portrying her as Dyna Sofya. I can go on…..Helen please please do not be a liar yourself.
re: “I don’t blame her. She is not lying but telling the truth as the events unfold.”
Thank you for showing us how the pro-DAP/Dyana mind works and your willingness to putar-belit even to the point of calling yourself “mohammad”.
You say she is telling the truth as events unfold. If the events had not unfolded, she would not have told the truth then.
(1) Dyana outright denied her mother’s involvement in Perkasa. Then the photo of the mother and daughter with Ibrahim Ali was leaked. So The J-Star came riding to her rescue by downplaying the link as a Semangat 46 social function rather than any direct Perkasa connection.
(2) They would have gotten away with their excuse had not the second photo surfaced showing the mother and daughter registering new members for Perkasa. So now Dyana’s story takes another turn. She claims she was then just an innocent student helping out her mother and gave the impression that the Membership Drive registration episode was a one-off.
(3) Again the uncritical public would have let Dyana off the hook on the flimsy excuse that she was merely being a helpful daughter had not the third photo been leaked. Here Dyana was in the Perkasa welcoming committee to greet Tun Mahathir and she even pinned the corsage on him and Ibrahim Ali.
So what was it you said earlier? “She is not lying but telling the truth as the events unfold.”
You are the one lying. Dyana was twisting and turning to cope with each revelation as they were exposed. If the 3 photos had not been produced one by one, you can bet that she would not have told the truth about her mother’s involvement with Perkasa as its founding member.
Dyana and Yammy in Perkasa is on their own conscience just as it is the freedom of choice for a Chinese to be in Dong Zong. The issue is not Yammy’s Perkasa membership per se but Dyana’s endless lies and the DAP’s hypocrisy in demonizing MCA’s Chew Mei Fun earlier during the Kajang by-election.
DAP had made it seem as if being photographed with a Perkasa member was like cavorting with the KKK. But when their own candidate was clearly INVOLVED with Perkasa at the very highest levels (and not just photographed together at a campaign ceramah as was Chew Mei Fun’s case), the DAP hypocrites turned around and dismissed Dyana’s Perkasa links as a “small matter”.
Are you a DAP hypocrite, Mr “mohammad”?
re: “Helen, how about the thousands of lies spread by all UMNOBN leaders. Muhiddin even lied to the elctorate that DAP does not respect the late Sultan Azlan’s death as they were found to be carrying out election programmes the same night.”
What Muhyiddin said was perfectly true. The DAP had indeed carried on with their ceramahs. And they blew vuvuzelas. How is the DPM wrong, Mr “mohammad”?
re: “The fact was UMNOBN organized programmes openly the same night.”
It may be so but it doesn’t make the Dapsters any less disrespectful for blowing vuvuzelas and being noisy.
re: “What about the lies of the UMNOBN bloggers spreading bikin clad Phillipine actress portrying her as Dyna Sofya.”
Some of the Umno bloggers claim that the bikini photos were a Reverse Psychology strategy and first planted by the Red Beanies. Are you a Red Beanie too, Mr “mohammad”?
re: “I can go on….. Helen please please do not be a liar yourself.”
I’m afraid that if you go on any further, your long Pinocchio nose will hit the wall. The deluge of lies created and spread by you people has become a Great Flood that will soon drown you all. It’s just a matter of time … tick tock tick tock.
‘Are you a DAP hypocrite, Mr “mohammad”?’
What else with ‘no hope no cure’ oppo supporters, Helen? Can the real ‘mohammad’ please stand up?
This line of “UMNOBN” do this and that so can we is SAD to say the least.
PR has been demonizing UMNOBN since forever and market themselves as Angelic.
We already know what shortcomings UMNOBN have.
However, for PR, who TALK COCK BIG about clean, integrity blah-blah, Dyana type of hypocrisy IS NOT an option.
What is the point of voting PR, with Greenhorn candidates for the office when they are no better than those the mock?
ChedeTDM said that “Better the Devil we know than an Angel we don’t”. Well, PR with all your antics does not deserve that line. You are now clearly no Angel.
“Better the Devil we know than the Devil we don’t” will be apt for you guys if you keep on using “UMNOBN can do … why can’t we” type of line.
At least the devil doesn’t masquerade as a race he does not belong to, and use a name that misrepresents the [real] religion he practices. What kind of people are they?!
At least now, they say UMNOBN, not only UMNO. Kira ada kemajuaan la. UMNOBN, majmuk skit ni asyik duk salahkan Melayu saja, mana boleh!
dear helen,

Liow Tiong Lai is micro-managing the paper. Kesian.
If the MCA president has to be hands on as well as always watch The J-Star like a hawk so that his back is not stabbed, wouldn’t that take away the time and energy that would have been better focussed on getting his party back on track?
MCA is the walking dead. Bangkai bernyawa tercungup-cungup.
xtremely true indeed helen. very unfortunate indeed. mca shud really get the services of young man like SYA(lupa la nama penuh dia). too bad SYA only gets to write for mingguan

Is that what he really wants? I doubt so.
Ms H. The Star probably at the behest of their comrade in arms in Singapore’s PAP media dropped Seah Chiang Nee’s Singapore Saturday’s Columns for his objective views on Singapore. Of course, you are aware the Star may have breached the terms of their licence since they are now doing biz with PAP’s media in Singapore. Vide. The Star Annual Reports !
They who personify the Art of Duplicity may trick some of the people people some of the time; but no one may be really sure if it’s true or it’s false at any time..
Dear Aunty Helen,
I think that the Chinese who voted for DAP are loyal DAP supporters and they voted for Dyana just because they were voting for DAP and LKS.
The Malay voters who voted for Dyana could be PAS members who would vote for anybody but BN candidates moreover PAS leaders told them that she is a Malay Muslim and a good person even though she says no to Hudud and do not wear hijab.
The moom is square, so loyal PAS members just trust their leaders.
What were they thinking ? That’s the issue…they were not thinking. Like members of a brain-washed cult they voted for whomever DAP told them to.
Like I said, they are consumers of holy water. If DAP nominates a primate wearing a T shirt with the logo of The Rocket, they will also vote for the primate. That’s what’ has become of the people, or rather, it is unbecoming of these people.
Look what Dyana’s up to…

The place for those aspiring for higher office. For those who failed in their bid for political power, it serves as the “retirement” home.
Hi Helen,
I am looking it from “a glass half full” perspective.
Instead of BN winning only 238 votes would you say that BN actually won 7,000++ (in 2013 election) plus 238 votes won recently? Please remember that BN lost by more than 7000 votes in the 2013 election.
He got 20,157 votes in the by-election compared to 20,086 in GE13. So it’s more or less status quo although I’d see it as Datuk Mah making some gains.
According to the DAP’s own calculations, they retained 70 percent Chinese support, a drop from the 85 percent high of the tsunami.
These are the hardcore 70 percent who would vote anything as long as it has a Rocket sticker, even a broomstick. A Perkasa chick? Boleh, if the party gives instruction to do so.
In terms of calibre and delivery, the Gerakan prez wins hands down. To me, the Chinese mindset (if like this) is beyond hope and beyond cure.
re: In terms of calibre and delivery ………………..
Dellivery? What Mah has delivered to Teluk Intan for the past 20 years? Or specifically for the 2 terms when he was the MP. People are now waiting for him to fulfill his promises like building a university and sports complex.
Despite losing his bid for office twice (2008, 2013), Datuk Mah still kept his service centre open till the present day. This shows a commitment you will not find among the DAP reps.
You ingat akan nampak kelibat Dyana ke di Teluk Intan selepas ni?
The problem with you oppo supporters is your destructiveness.
Mah and his family have contributed to the Chinese schools in their home town. They live there, you know, unlike Unker Kit’s “travelling family circus” (Tunku Aziz’s description).
Mah is not tainted by corruption allegations. Dyana on the other hand is scandalous.
Mah was the former Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry. He has got lots of experience behind him.
What has Dyana got? Bila makcik enggan dipujuk untuk berselfie dengan dia, dihina pula perempuan berumur itu dengan ejekan “eee.. buruknye muka dia”.
Your own people – the Pakatan MPs and Aduns – delivered massage parlours, unlicenced entertainment centres, triad infiltration & control – and my pet grouse water rationing and air lombong – but you prefer to slag the decent, hardworking Chinese politicians like Chew Mei Fun and Mah Siew Keong.
You forgot to mention that they also delivered hate.
And endless supply of holy water.
Are you still talking to chipsmore, er, toshiba, Helen?
Now you see, now you don’t!
re: “Are you still talking to toshiba, Helen?”
As long as the pro-oppo fellas don’t insult, use profanities, make ad hominem attacks, hit below the belt or tell lies about me, then I layan lah.
Contrary opinions and Pakatan views are accepted/acceptable here. I’m not a fascist like the Dapsters.
Contrary opinions and Pakatan views are accepted/acceptable here. I’m not a fascist like the Dapsters.
—————————————-
LOL !
DAP is pro-democracy when they attack and criticise others mercilessly. But when the tables are turned, they show their fascist and dictatorial face. Cakap tak serupa bikin.
I don’t believe any appeal to reason is possible where the DAP and Dapsters are concerned.
Mah to continue with abandoned flood-mitigation project in Teluk Intan
by Bernama
TELUK INTAN (June 1): For newly re-elected Teluk Intan MP Datuk Mah Siew Keong, among the main projects to be given priority will be the continuation of the flood-mitigation project, which was held back since his defeat in the 2008 general election.
The RM100 million project, planned to be developed in five phases, was only completed up to the second phase at a cost of RM30 million before Mah who was Teluk Intan MP since 1999, lost the seat in the 2008 general election.
The completion of the two phases has managed to reduce the flash flood problem in the town area and some villages in Teluk Intan by 80 to 90%.
P.S
I was reading about waqaf clinic i.e. Clinic Waqaf An-Nur a highly subsidized clinic by KPJ Heatlcare with RM5 fee plus medicine, and was amazed on how DAP politician and J-Star can spin the story by giving the perception to the public as if it is the Subang Jaya ADUN is the key the person behind that, while KPJ is just a sidekick. For everyone info. Waqaf An-Nur is available in many places through the country serving the Muslim and Non-Muslims.

re: “how DAP politician and J-Star can spin the story by giving the perception to the public as if it is the Subang Jaya ADUN is the key the person behind that”
Umno has to take action against MCA. There’s no other way unless Umno wants to die in GE14.
KOMA!
To KJ,
U should consider having Helen in ure organisation. Helen has all the ingredients of a good and efficient political aide. KJ must replace that Dapster, a double-twisted and “gunting dlm lipatan”.
sincerely, a veteran.
Dear veteran,
To me, perangai muka tebal KJ amat memalukan lah. Segan lah sesiapa yang jadi political aide dia.
Remember the Obama visit where KJ jumped on the red carpet for the photo ops with the POTUS? It was Anifah Aman’s job as Menteri Pengiring but KJ was such an eager beaver that he looked almost ready to open the limo door for Obama.
Khairy thrusts himself everywhere and brings a jinx along with him. Remember how he immediately flew to New Delhi upon learning that the national badminton squad made it to the Thomas Cup finals? Then we saw him jumping up and down like a beruk at the side of the court. Then our team kalah.
Better for the Bomoh to Tampar Buaya aje kat KJ tu.
In other words, KJ is the typical glory hunter. Also syok sendiri type. Just imagine, had our team won the Thomas Cup, he will be the one saying “All the efforts under MY LEADERSHIP………Anwar 2.0 in the making.
regarding the bikini photos,i am pretty certain it was planted by the dapsters.the normal, not psychologically disturbed malay muslim would not distribute such photos at mosques, irrrespective of their hatred

votes for dyana.in fact such
tactic would only make

its actually a desperate act
by dapsters coz their motto

fielding a dumb lying
beauty with brains used to
lie n lie again to cover up
the previous lies.
bn has flaws too of course
but the art of deception is
not THE special trait of bn…compared to dap n pkr.
re: “bn has flaws too of course but the art of deception is not THE special trait of bn… compared to dap n pkr.”
I agree. They are people who can’t stop lying. They just keep slandering and libeling. Their sneakiness, deception and deceit is just too much to take.
You’re a regular reader so you’d know that I hardly ever post religious lectures. But I recently reminded on the fourth precept of Buddhism, i.e. to honour and respect Truth, b’cos I really cannot tahan them anymore.
When even someone like me who objectively deals in cold analysis and hard data can feel so besieged by their endless lies and torrent of hate, I think the line has to be drawn in the sand. I’m not surprised that Isma is going on the offensive and calling DAP a cancer that has to be excised to restore the health of the nation.
re: They are people who can’t stop lying.
Isn’t it normal for politicians from both sides to lie?
How do we determine which side tells more lies?
I expect politicians to be sneaky. However, BN pollies do not hold a candle to the DAP pollies in this respect.
Evangelista leaders are furthermore thought by their followers to be whiter than snow and incapable of doing any wrong. And the Dapsters character assassinate anyone who criticizes their Great Leaders.
Tunku Aziz is one example of someone getting the brunt of the Dapster hysteria. Norman Fernandez (for his opposition to hudud) and Zulkifli Mohd Noor are other DAP leaders who have suffered personal attacks from the Dapsters for their dissent.
Let’s just take the micro world of my blog, okay? Remember my KJ poll? He was disliked by a big majority of the poll respondents. The pro-establishment readers in my blog don’t bermati-matian trying to defend KJ. On the contrary, they tumpang sekaki in the criticisms.
With the Dapsters, it’s a different story. They always defend the indefensible, such as Dyana’s lies about her mother’s Perkasa involvement.
When I criticize DS Najib, you do not see my blog’s pro-Umno commenters going ballistic on me. On the other hand, it is I who has to moderate some of the comments (from Malays) which are too harsh on him. The Malay ground removed their previous Umno president Sleepy Dollah.
There is more balance among the Malay voters. Something like 60:40 or 65:35. With the Chinese, it is 85:15 rural and 90++:10– (urban).
Yeah politicians lie or don’t keep their promises. But with the Dapsters, they will contort themselves grotesque to defend or cover up the lies. And they shoot the messengers who expose the lies perpetrated by the DAP leaders.
When Khir Toyo was found guilty of corruption by the court, do you recall any Umno supporters behaving like a Dapster crowd?
Do you remember them instead chanting in PWTC “KJ rasuah, KJ rasuah, KJ rasuah!” after Khairy won the Umno Youth election? Do you think you’ll ever hear the Dapsters chant “Guan Eng tipu, Guan Eng tipu!” at their CEC election?
Bottomline: The Umno people still have a functioning internal check & balance mechanism. The hardest-hitting bloggers against the gomen/Umno are pro-establishment like SAA, AKJ and The Unspinners, to name a few. Can you think of any anti-establishment Chinese bloggers who are critical of the DAP?
As you said “Yeah politicians lie or don’t keep their promises.”, there is no objective way to determine which party lies more. Some PR supporters ‘pragmatically’ told me:-
Let BN and PR continue with their lies. This is the inevitable nature politics. Ultimately, it is the money in your pocket that counts. BN promised to look into the cost of living as part of their manifesto. What happened thereafter? Barang Naik from sugar, petrol, electricity, toll, property prices etc. The next Barang Naik is interest rate next month and GST next year.
For these group of PR supporters, they can withstand all form of lies from PR as long as it does not lead to rise in cost of living. Of course as of now, all the Barang Naik is under the control of federal jurisdiction. Hence, their displeasure with BN. Similarly, if BN can bring prices down they will support BN irrespective of the amount of lies.
re: “Ultimately, it is the money in your pocket that counts.”
This is the Dapster ethos. It is not, for example, the ethos of Isma. The Muslims are concerned about akhirat and judgment day.
Buddhism is not a materialistic nor mercenary religion. That’s why, as an anecdotal example, you have Ananda Krishan’s only son living as a monk in a monastery located at a Thai forest fringe. He has rejected the lure of his father’s billions.
Putting money above all else is the ethos of the greedy evangelistas with the 3G: Gold, Glory, Gospel ideology. And note that Gold precedes Gospel.
The rest of Malaysia who are not Dapster-evangelistas have very little patience and tolerance left for the lying scumbags, especially if they continue to mess with the ‘Allah’ word.
And no, I would not say that Pakatan and BN are about level in the Lies department. No one comes close to the Dapster-evangelistas in this regard.
amend:
Ananda Krishan’s son … if I’m not mistaken, he’s the abbot
Yes he is. His dad is Ananda Krishnan and mom is a Thai. -The couple has 2 daughters and 1 son. he is the only son.
re: He has rejected the lure of his father’s billions.
Out of so many sons/daughters of tycoons, only the son of AK rejected the wealth. The rest are very much enjoying the billions/ millions. Like Mukhriz-Opcom & Reliance Pacific, Mokhzani-Sapura Kencana, Mirzan-San Miguel, KJ-ECM Libra, Kamaluddin-Scomi, Bekir Mahmud-CMS etc.
As both parties tell lies, we have no proper yardstick to decide which lie is bigger than the other. Hence, the ethos of ‘money in your pocket’. Eg. DAP Dyana lied about her mother’s involvement in Perkasa. NO EFFECT on our pockets. Same to ‘Allah’ issue.
Compare with BN annual wastage, abuse etc as evidenced in the Annual Auditor General Report. Every year we see the same thing. The monetary impact on our pockets is INDIRECT as the wastage will cause less monies to be directed for public benefit.
Consider this:
http://www.barubian.net/2012/07/commuters-balk-at-najib-express.html
BN promised to look into cost of living before election. Thereafter, Barang Naik here and there. Not only there was a lie, there was also DIRECT impact on our pocket. Both BN and PR supporters also kena.
re: I would not say that Pakatan and BN are about level in the Lies department.
Lastly, how do you objectively determine the above?
re: “Out of so many sons/daughters of tycoons, only the son of AK rejected the wealth. The rest are very much enjoying the billions/millions.”
I already clarified that I was citing one anecdotal example. I did not say I was providing empirical data. And my emphasis was not on children of tycoons but that Buddhism is not a materialistic religion.
That the teachings of Lord Buddha does not emphasize wealth, material possessions or worldliness is a fact of the faith. Buddhism is not the Prosperity Gospel of the evangelistas collecting 10 percent tithe. Takkan just because you’re so keen on championing Pakatan in Malaysian politics, you must resort to dissing an ancient, world religion? Come on lah.
re: “As both parties tell lies, we have no proper yardstick to decide which lie is bigger than the other. Hence, the ethos of ‘money in your pocket’. Eg. DAP Dyana lied about her mother’s involvement in Perkasa. NO EFFECT on our pockets. Same to ‘Allah’ issue.”
If you’re insisting that the ‘Allah’ issue can be dismissed b’cos it has no effect on our pockets, then I cannot discuss any further with you on this lah. Pointless.
As for Dyana’s lies, it was very upsetting to me. In my opinion, the DAP leaders are prone to lying every now and again but in the Teluk Intan campaign, it came all in an avalanche.
Here obviously the criterion “effect on our pockets” which you apply is not the criterion which I apply. Whether it upsets my pocket or not, the DAP lies to much and to me, it is unacceptable. Some people cannot stand the smell of durian, and some people are allergic to mango.
Therefore it is similarly pointless for us to continue this thread of discussion since you cannot understand why the DAP lies upset me, and on the other hand, I do not prioritize “effect on our pockets” at the degree in which you do. It’s a Durian-Mango situation.
re: “Compare with BN annual wastage, abuse etc as evidenced in the Annual Auditor General Report. Every year we see the same thing. The monetary impact on our pockets is INDIRECT as the wastage will cause less monies to be directed for public benefit.”
Even if Pakatan were sitting in Putrajaya this minute, there will not be any change in the civil service. The AG will still be auditing the same bunch of people.
And did you know that the Penang state expenditure bloated in the few years under the Caliph?
I’ve never denied nor defended the BN shortcomings such as RM40,000 parking meters (each). However I do not for a minute believe that Pakatan can deliver better governance, greater accountability, etc. I’m utterly convinced they are worse. Look at how they conduct their party polls and how the Godfathers summarily sack members (ask Wee Choo Keong & kua Kia Soong about their DAP experiences).
And where is the transparency in the Penang’s undersea tunnel? There was no open tender and the company was awarded the project even before a proper EIA was carried out. And the quoted cost fluctuated between a few billions. No hanky-panky meh?
re: “BN promised to look into cost of living before election. Thereafter, Barang Naik here and there. Not only there was a lie, there was also DIRECT impact on our pocket. Both BN and PR supporters also kena.”
So did Pakatan promise to look into cost of living before election. And I don’t have to tell you how cost of living has risen the most in S’gor and Penang (and maybe Johor).
re: “I would not say that Pakatan and BN are about level in the Lies department.” / “Lastly, how do you objectively determine the above?”
Why don’t you tabulate the amount of lies told in Teluk Intan with the conduct of the last by-election to have been won by the BN?
Track the 4 candidates (two frontrunners in each of the two by-elections) and see how honest the candidates have been about themselves and their background. Appraise the truth or falsehood of what the top Pakatan and BN leaders sell/market about their candidates, e.g. claims of varsity qualifications, true or not.
Check how far their manifesto has been delivered or is deliverable (e.g. Kit Siang’s Gelang Patah Declaration for Indians). Look into the promises made by both sets of Pakatan and BN leaders on what they say they’ll give and see whether these promises have been fulfilled.
Over the last 6 years since 2008, none of the Pakatan states have delivered on their promise to reinstate local council elections and this Pakatan promise is as good as the toilet paper it was printed on.
Helen,
Obviously we have a different benchmark when it comes to assessing the shortcomings of both BN and PR. No doubt I am on the ‘materialistic’ side, i.e. both sides are corrupt and wasteful. Hence I will choose the less one.
No doubt we have rising cost of living in Penang and Selangor. But not much the state government can do as they have limited or zero control when it comes to fuel subsidy, electricity tariff, sugar price, interest rate, property price etc. State government control things like quit rent, assessment, business licenses etc.
Bear in mind that authorities like judiciary, customs, police and MACC are under the control of BN federal government. If these is any issue with the Penang tunnel project, why didn’t these authorities investigate and prosecute? Even EIA is under the federal government. Just need to fail the report and the tunnel project is a no go. BTW, there was a tender called.
So far, the authorities have investigated issues like Teoh Beng Hock, Khalid Ibrahim cow issue and LGE’s Mercedes for alleged abuse and corruption. There were no further action. But for other PR politicians, they were ‘easily’ investigated and charged for sedition, sodomy and illegal assembly. Not for abuse of power or corruption.
re: “different benchmark when it comes to assessing the shortcomings of both BN and PR … choose the less [corrupt] one”
Since we can’t prove/prosecute the corruption on either side – if PR could, they would have submitted the evidence for corruption charges since they are the govts in two highly developed states and have access to all the paperwork pertaining to previous BN contracts/deals – then I would opt for the side that does not lie [almost] “all the time”.
If you don’t lie, then at least you’re honest. If you’re honest, then the less likelihood of engaging in corruption. Don’t forget that the early Umno giants had squeaky clean reputations.
re: “property price etc”
Of course the state has influence over property prices. Land is not under federal. Neither is the approval for land use (how the property is to be developed) under federal.
re: “why didn’t these authorities investigate and prosecute?”
Same reason it took so long until Najib finally decided to sue Malaysiakini. Same reason I’m screaming why does BN let Ong Kian Ming get away with framing the narrative (i.e. Malay votes increased) without coming out with their side of the postmortem (BN so tidak apa, DAP so quick on the uptake). Same reason it took so long for anyone from BN to refute the DAP denial of the CHINESE tsunami and allowing DAP to seize the initiative in branding it “Malaysian tsunami” / “urban tsunami” instead.
Reason: Umno is a PPTA that is going to get its arse kicked
re: EIA
Sorry, I meant feasibility study.
re: “a tender called’
The process was suspect — “RM6.3bil mega project was awarded to a company that was only formed after the closing date for the submission of proposal”, see http://www.thestar.com.my/News/Nation/2013/03/14/Clarify-how-RM63bil-mega-project-was-awarded-to-firm-Guan-Eng-urged/
re: “PR politicians… charged for sedition, sodomy and illegal assembly. Not for abuse of power or corruption”
Anwar was convicted of “abuse of power” = corruption. See, http://news.malaysia.msn.com/elections/election-key-players-datuk-seri-anwar-ibrahim-1
Helen;
No doubt Dyana is stunning, beautiful dan sedap mata memandang.
But the second time I look at her, I see LKS with lip stick with over do make-up and wearing mini skirts to attract the voters.
Disgusting and no wonder many voters voted Mah. The election was not betwwen Dyana and Mah but between LKS and Mah. Dyana was used as the prop to beautify LKS.
re: “Dyana was used as the prop to beautify LKS.”
ROTFL
Lol. Still remember those days when oppo accused bn of winning no matter who’s the candidate, ie.. “letak tunggul pun bn menang”.
Today, the opposite is true.
“Those days” circa … tahun berapa?
That era was pre-Pak Lah, who had some sleep disorder, whereby he inadvertantly delegated his duties as PM to bebudak tingkatan 4. Conveniently concocted ‘dasar keterbukaan’ to open all floodgates that we are all now suffering to damage-control kan.
Suatu ketika dulu bilamana MCA masih setia, evangelistas belum berhijrah ke Subang & Pas/Dap belum bermuta’ah nasfu serakah (quoting you). Lmao.
re: “bebudak tingkatan 4”
Haha. They still are, if the Ipoh Barat ketua Pemuda Umno (yang melamar Dyana) is anything to go by.
re: BN letak tunggul kayu pun boleh menang
Applies only in Malay-majority seats. DAP has always given the BN’s Chinese components a run for their money.
