Palestinian dead and the hypocritical living

Our Bible lesson for today

We shall look at the Book of Jeremiah, chapter 9, verses 17-18.

17  Thus saith the Lord of hosts, Consider ye, and call for the mourning women, that they may come; and send for cunning women, that they may come:

18  And let them make haste, and take up a wailing for us, that our eyes may run down with tears, and our eyelids gush out with waters.

(King James Bible, KJV)

Annotation for the verses above

Commentary by Benson:

The reader will observe, “it was an ancient custom of the Hebrews, at funerals, and on other like occasions, to make use of hired mourners, whose profession it was to exhibit in public all the signs and gestures of immoderate and frantic grief, and by their loud outcries and doleful songs to excite a real passion of sorrow in others”.

These professional Mourning Women were “well instructed in the discipline of mourning, and ready to hire out their lamentations and tears on any emergency”, explains the Bible commentary by Benson.

Another Bible teacher Wesley notes that these Mourning Women “were hired to tear their hair, and beat their breasts, with other mourning postures” and are described as “cunning” (c.f. Jeremiah 9:17 above, Cunning Women) which in the Biblical sense of the word means “most skilful” in the art faking.

9:1  Oh that my head were waters, and mine eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night

Hannah and her crocodile tears

The emoticon above of Mr Smiley shedding two huge teardrops is borrowed from Hannah Yeoh’s frantically grieving tweet.

@hannahyeoh had tweeted most dolefully:

“When will men and nations learn from history? The killing has to stop! Heartache reading and seeing pictures of injured & dead children”

You can see Madame Speaker’s weeping “heartache”” in her Two-Teardrops emoticon contained in the tweet below:

Twitter - hannahyeoh- When will men and nations learn

The cunning, mourning woman

Hannah takes up a loud wailing and lamentation: “When will men and nations learn from history?” but fails to mention which men [Answer: Jews, in bahasa Melayu called the Yahudi Yo).

She does not mention which nation either it is that should learn from history [Answer: Israel].

She tears her hair and beats her breasts after looking at the “pictures of injured and dead children”. She does not say who and where the children are [Answer: Palestinians in Gaza].

With a loud outcry and flourish, Hannah Yeoh declares: “The killing has to stop!”

Hypocrite Hannah

In her fountain-of-tears tweet (which is actually a cunning professional dirge), she even fails to make any mention about who was actually killed.

Her tweet –

“When will men and nations learn from history? The killing has to stop! Heartache reading and seeing pictures of injured & dead children”

– does not make sense at all since the key words – “Israel”, “Palestinians”, “Gaza” – are glaringly missing in her exhortation to stop “the killing” … er, who’s killing who?!

Hannah is a hypocrite, wouldn’t you say?

To help fill in her glaring blanks, I’m providing a list (partial only as the death count keeps rising daily) of the fatalities.

The names of these Palestinian dead ought to be made known so that we may remember that they once lived.

You can see entire families wiped out.

  1. Sad sad speaker and nothing much she can do because even the US Pesident Barack Obama is JUST SIMPLY not able to do much to help the Palestinians

“….issued a statement on Friday, reaffirming his “strong support for Israel’s right to defend itself. “No nation should accept rockets being fired into its borders, or terrorists tunneling into its territory,” ….

And here we have clowns praying to move the mountains of Sarawak?

  2. We all know that the Madame Speaker wears Prada is a professional hypocrite. From her tweet, one can guess that the tweet was written in such a way as to maintain deliberate ambiguity in the same way israel kept its nuclear-capable status and commitment to Palestinian statehood, perpetually ambiguous.

I think when the Speaker ‘Soalan mulut’ tweeted:

“When will men and nations learn from history? The killing has to stop! Heartache reading and seeing pictures of injured & dead children”

She was probably responding to a movie she watched? Or TV series? Maybe she was watching something like Rambo or Terminator. Or Chucky the evil doll. Or maybe she’s reading about the Holocaust, then blurted that neck-saving tweet.

Kak Helen, do you know whether Ong Kian Ming is tweeting about Gaza? If he does, it’ll probably look something like this:

“Masya-ALLAH!! israel telah membunuh ramai saudara2 kita di Gaza. Saya tonton Al-Jazeera masa bangun waktu SAHUR tadi, sungguh menyedihkan, nauzubiLLAH!! Saya doakan semua selamat insya-ALLAH. Masa IFTAR nanti, ingat kesengsaraan mereka. AlhamduLILLAH Malaysia selamat”

Maybe kan Kak Helen? Judging from the trend of his previous tweet.
He was eager to ask others to ‘puasa’ in solidarity with muslims in Xinjiang who were allegedly prevented from fasting by Beijing. So, I wonder whether he’s been vocal about Gaza too. Or he prefer to comment about movies like Madame Speaker too.

  3. Malaysians dead and the hypocritical living is more apt.

Is it related to the racial riots of 13th May 1969?

    Or the 9/11 WTC bombing?

Or the massacre in Bosnia, Cambodia, Chechenya etc?

  4. ‘To help fill in her glaring blanks, I’m providing a list (partial only as the death count keeps rising daily) of the fatalities.’

So Helen, do you still supports the Israel occupation on the Palestinians?

    1. I said the state of Israel has been acknowledged as a sovereign nation by the UN for the last 66 years.

I don’t see any reason why we should buck or go against [the majority of] the world consensus.

After all, Malaysia is Israel’s 15th largest trading partner, see

So if you believe that the state of Israel is illegally occupying Palestinian land, then you should take it up with the various gomen ministries why they allow our country to trade with Israel.

      1. Helen, Islam does not discriminate, such is the beauty of Islam!

  5. The tiny ship rocked back and forth, tossed across the white caps like scrap, the sailors sure it would soon be broken into match sticks. One frightened sailor crawled to the opening in the deck to call to the sleeping man below. “Save us! We will all be drowned!” The man awoke, emerging to face the raging storm that threatened the tiny boat and lives of His disciples on the Sea of Galilee. Jesus of Nazareth stretched out his hands, and confronting the tempest with the authority of creation, the Prince of Peace commanded “Peace! Be Still!”

The commands of the Prince of Peace are still heard today by believers, choosing to listen to the voice of Jesus over voices of hatred and violence. In 2007, in a tiny strip of land known as Gaza, at the center of some of the greatest daily turmoil in the world, masked gunmen in two cars pulled up to a bookshop attended by a night guard. Forcing the guard into the car, they drove to a remote location in northern Gaza, where they beat him and demanded the bookshop key. When they found the guard had no key, they left him and returned to the shop, where at 2:30 a.m. they detonated bombs.

Palestinian Bible Society executive director Labib Madanat described the attack on the Gaza Bible Bookshop as much worse than previous ones, but with renewed spirit and commitment said, “Immediately, the teams began cleaning up, determined to go back as soon as possible to functioning and to minister to the people.” Madanat added, “There is so much love for the people of Gaza that it will take a huge amount of hate to quench the love the team has for them.”

As chaos and turmoil dominate the lives of Palestinians living in Gaza, Christians, like the Gaza Bible bookstore staff members, openly demonstrate love – and hope for peace – for their neighbors, regardless of the circumstances.

For peace to prevail in Gaza, both the government of Israel and Hamas must immediately agree to a cease-fire. Can they sit down and talk instead of firing missiles? Can Hamas love their children more than they hate the Jews? Can they agree to co-existence with the Jews instead of crying ‘Death to America, Death to Israel’? Instead of praying to Allah 5 times a day to defeat the enemies, can Allah turn their enemies into friends? The Palestinian civilian Jews, Muslims and Christians are victims too. My heart goes out to them. So sad civilians had to die. Every life is precious.

    1. Its not Hamas who are the problem. Zionists have blockaded Gaza and want to exterminate Palestinians during every peace talk more Arabs become homeless.

If someone beat you up threw you out of your house and the authorities backed the thief wouldnt be angry at them?

You Christians lack any IQ or compassion but then again your founder Paul was a terrible criminal who openly admitting to lying to gain converts.

Can Israel stop being racist that should be your question and Hamas dont hate jews they are against zionism.

Anyone with half a brain can see who is the aggressor and who is the victim.

Besides what peace? When they have their gun at Hamas head you whine hamas should love?

Don’t insult muslims we pray 5 times out of devotion to our creator you pray 1 times for personal wealth which is why during personal struggle many to atheism.

I hope my comment is posted. You christians are just too much.

      1. With this attitude, more Paestinian civilians will die over the next few weeks. Who said Israel wants to exterminate the Palestinians, you imams? There is no basis in this. The top doctors and Chief Judge in Israel are Palestinians too. Stop the Nazi behaviour yourself.

When Muslims kill Muslims too, you want to blame the Christians and Jews? Remember the Memali incident in Kedah, Malaysia 1985. Muslims are victims of the killings by both the Imam Ibrahim Libya and the government of Malaysia’s police force. It is the difference of political agenda that lead to ordinary folk’s lives being destroyed. Until today, there is no closure to the Memali case.

The political struggles of Palestinian PLO and Hamas are very clear. You can see the shouts of ‘Death to Israel’ clearly in their demonstrations. They never say death to zionism. The Hamas leadership are divided too. Some of them wants death to ordinary Jews. It was the kidnapping and killing of a teenage Jew that started the series of counter attacks by the Israel authorities.

They too have been arguing amongst themselves and have kill each other because of their differences. When a missile came short and kill a Palestinian boy, they also blame the Israel for their own murder. How many missiles can they justify shooting into Isreal?

The Hamas Jihadists and Isrealites are against the Christian missionary message to their IDF personnel as it interferes with their mission. If the both sides get converted to the teachings of Jesus Christ, they worry their numbers become ‘soft’ by the teaching of love.

It is the non-violence hope that Christianity can give peace to the and of Israel. After all, the Prince of Peace is the true source of peace and hope for mankind. Love not war. You cannot have anti-establishment and have peace at the same time.

The Hamas are totally committed to win. Regardless whether they continue to pray 5 times a day to destroy the established Israeli government, it is never the right thing to do. Do you support any political party in your country who wants to destroy your government? That is what Hamas is bent on doing. You can only blame the government of deciding to stop the attacks into Isreal. Hamas still have 900 missiles. They have shot 1500 missiles into Israel already. If not for the anti-missiles defense technology, there will surely be more Jewish casualties than Palestinians.

Will Hamas stop Hiding Among Mosques And Schools? Will Hamas stop the continuing sacrifice of ordinary Palestinians and Jews?
