Tun: “I’m a doctor, if I find one leg becoming gangrenous I remove it”

Update: 7 April 2015

PANDANGAN AHLI UMNO 007

Tetapi, bagaimana kalau Tun Dr. Mahathir betul.

– Sanusi Junid

Tulisan mantan Menteri Besar Kedah Sanusi Junid yang seterusnya boleh dibaca di blog beliau – ‘Bila Melayu Mula Merapu‘ (6 April 2015)

Original posting below:

Dr Mahathir Mohamad explains on the British television programme Hardtalk why the then Prime Minister must immediately step down in the aftermath of BN’s disastrous showing in GE12.

“No, no, no, he (Dollah Badawi) is not dismantling the system. He’s making use of the system in a worse way,” Dr Mahathir says in his April 2008 interview with Stephen Sackur in London.

The Tun’s complaint about his immediate successor (No.5), i.e. “nobody can say anything against him, he has newspapers which only report about him and how great he is”, is reminiscent of the complaint by the retired premier (No.4) in our present day about the sitting PM (No.6).

Najib Razak’s Great Wall of Con-sultants (Pemandu, Talentcorp, NUCC, GMM and the other punahsihat-punahsihat) are comprehensively insulating and detaching him from the ground and grassroots. The Cons are doppelgangers of Sleepy Dollah’s infamous Fourth Floor Boys — this comment is mine, not Dr M’s.

Yamseng … may the Tun live to be 100!

In the BBC interview, Sackur points out that Dr M is perennially worried about the stability of our country. See also, Will Najib be able to control an unstable country? (another Tun interview video clip)

Tun replies to Sackur that if we are not careful, there will be racial flare-ups because if one were to look at most of the countries with a multi-racial population, they are never peaceful.

According to Tun, the sociopolitical situation is “very, very fluid and it is very likely that there will be racial riots”.

Dismissing Anwar Ibrahim’s New Politics rhetoric of “a colour blind Malaysia”, he says that unless we circumvent the people who are promoting racial hatred, the current ethnic conflict might erupt into outright violence. This is perhaps one of the primary reasons why Dr M feels that abolishing the ISA is a mistake.

Necessary to amputate Umno

Saya cakap terus terang. Tun cakap berlapik.

Dr M used the kiasan of two cautionary tales – Hans Christian Andersen’s The Emperor’s New Clothes (tapi who was actually bogel) and King Canute commanding the waves – to remind Najib that he has too many kaki ampu bodek surrounding and suffocating him.

These Dato’-Dato’ who are the PM’s multi-billion ringgit parasites are keeping the bad news from reaching his ears. They will likely cause Najib to go down in Malaysian history as the last Umno president to hold our country’s top job.

PART 1: Transcript

1:14: (Tun Dr Mahathir) – “… if proper action is taken, including of course the present Prime Minister leaving his seat of power, it may be possible to bring back the Barisan Nasional Front in order to become again a very strong ruling party.

1:38 (Stephen Sackur) – “You’re saying that Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi has to be kicked out for the ruling party to recover?”

1:45 (Tun) – “Well not so strong as that. He can step down.”

“I stepped down in my time. It’s about time that he steps down because the result of the election shows clearly that many of the former followers, supporters of the Nasional Front had decided that they would work, vote for the Opposition even if they didn’t like the Opposition. They voted for the Opposition to send a message to the present government.”

2:16 (Sackur) – “See, Prime Minister Abdullah says that you have been one of the curses that have brought him down, because you’ve been sniping from the sidelines for the last two or three years.”

2:25 (Tun) – “Ah, that may be so. I don’t see why I should not criticise wrongdoings by him.”

2:33 (Sackur) – “What wrongdoings?”

2:35 (Tun) – “Well in the first place, the government promises to remove corruption and things like that, but the government is found to be corrupt.”

2:48 (Sackur) – “You’re tearing your own party apart though, that is the problem. And that is what many people inside your party believe.”

2:54 (Tun) – “Well sometimes it may be necessary. I told people ‘I’m a doctor. If I find one leg becoming gangrenous I remove it’.”

3:02 (Sackur) – “Now he has said, Prime Minister Abdullah, that he will go eventually, but is your message to him that he has no time, he must go now?”

3:10 (Tun) – “He must go now, because it will take time to revive the party for the next election.”

Ms H. You are correct in wishing TDM to live up to 100. A few years ago, I wished an elderly Chinese to lived up to 99. He did’nt like it. But when I corrected myself and said ‘ 100 years old.’ He smiled. However, my felicitations were ineffective. He died aged 72 !

Tun would have been around 83 in the Hardtalk programme. He could have been the youngest looking 83-year-old in the world.

That interview at BBC was when he was still sane. Now he has gone bonkers.

Somebody has to tell him his time is over. Finito. Kapish.

At 90 years old, anyone still listening to him must be Nuts. Is he wearing adult pampers and still going around?

It’s pitiful in a way seeing him me meleter. His audience of those 90+ and above are either already dead or deaf.

Who are his audience anyway? Helen sahaja kut.

Dandy.. Your commentaries on Tun. M translates the level of your intellect. With that enormous stupidity you possess, I’m certain it could generate power. I suggest you work hand-in-hand with TNB. Supply some into the national grid, please.

How old are you? It seems to be you are a senile. You better see a good medical doctor and not PhD doctor.

I suggest you see Dr Mahathir. He is a good medical doctor and I believe he can prescribe you good medicine and advise. Don’t worry he will not charge you a single sen.

Before I forget, my invitation is still on. Because you are a senile, I need to remind you all the time. Take care.

Dandy. I have a list of 53 names of people who died earlier than me. The youngest was just 39. Some of them harmed me or were rude like you. They asked.me, ‘ How old are you ?’ So, I keep a record of when they kicked the bucket. Everyone should live up to 100 not because of the good doctors but the good medicines.

    Helen.

TM should not only blame Abdullah and Najib but himself too. These 2 persons and AI were his anak didik, and they saw something wrong in his administration too that they decide to go differently.

Corruption, cronyism and mismanagement were rampant during his time too. That’s why they have to be different and carry what he had left behind. But the problem is his successors were of below par in calibre and had to depend on consultants to provide assistance and one was blur in his judgement.

So Helen, don’t you think TM should blame himself too for the dilemma the country is in now?
During TM times, lot of nobody Cinaman managed to get government projects and some eventually became billionaires.

And yet the sons of these billionaires without shames insinuate that the government should stop practicing cronyism but instead practice meritocracy. This statement indirectly admit that they are billionaires today due to their father being the cronies of the government of TM.

Some how I admit during TM times the country was 100 percent better than today.

    Thanks

Also why discuss DS Rosmah’s talented son, adinda Ms Helen
or maybe Dato Mokhzani? Good for both of them to have made it in their industry, and if necessary can highlight their achievements for our young to emulate.

        State-capture corruption?
The oppositions instead highlighting so many corruption accusations without proof, so any real need for dear YAB Tun Dr to join in the noisy inquisition ada?

I’ve been listening and reading all these Umno bigwigs running down TDM in their efforts to show solidarity with the PM. To start picking on the Tun’s “faults” and “failed policies” just so you can say Najib is a better guy is not the way to go.

For me, the simplest thing to do is for Najib or any of his supporters to stand up and answer every issue raised in a convincing manner. It’s that simple. Put in simple terms that every one can understand.

For example, 1MDB. Is it so difficult to say we have appointed auditors who are currently doing a forensic auit of 1MDB? Then get a spokesperson from the audit committee to stand up and say when the exercise is expected to be completed and how soon they can give a preliminary report.

One of the problems now is that, every time an issue is raised, it is not being handled in a convincing manner. Every single Umno person seems to want to air their two-sen opinion, when actually we want to hear from the person of authority.

Pada petengahan 1980an di awal umur 20an , saya berpedapat tindak tanduk Tun Nahathir sebagai “the making of a dictator”.

Ms H. If you like statistics, here are some figures for you on the deaths or legal misdemeanours of innocent people at the fringe of big Government since 2004. A grand total of 16 victims so far :-
    1. 10 died. 8 violently. 2 from medical causes.
    2. 4 involved in legal processes.
    3. 2 to die violently.

Under normal circumstances, if others had eschewed the failed MONEY MONEY MONEY Policies of the Ruler (1959-2015), they would all be alive and well !
