Alvin – topik perbincangan hangat
Nukilan berjudul “I am Alvin Tan … future US citizen” (23 Sept 2014) yang dimuatnaik di portal The Ant Daily telah berjaya menarik minat pembaca sampai lebih 60,000 page views.
Sebelum ini saya ada pun mengemukakan soalan, “How many people are like Alvin?”
Adakah Alvin menjadi ikutan orangramai?
Cuba lihat maklum balas oleh para Facebooker terhadap rencana ‘Naked truth about Alvin the sex blogger‘ (FMT, 3 Okt 2014), karangan Iskandar Dzulkarnain yang seterusnya dibidas pembaca sebagai berupa seorang “known Scumno trooper and Malay supremacist”.
Maksudnya penulis Melayu yang tidak menyenangi gelagat Alvin adalah dianggap sebagai balaci Umno dan pendokong Ketuanan Melayu.
Adakah Alvin mendapat sokongan awam?

(1) Alvin wakil dan jaguh orang bukan-Melayu
Kam Teow Eng percaya Alvin sekadar menyuarakan isi hati orang bukan-Melayu (“he is venting the fury and disgust on behalf of the Non-Malays”).
Kata Teow Eng: “Why don’t you ask those buggers of Isma, Perkasa and the rest of the racist why they say things that they should not. … Most of us wanted to impute the faults on the government and challenge the government but are held back by wise and prudent rationalization but, what a chance, when we have Alvin Tan to speak our minds.”
Teow Eng melihat Alvin sebagai wira (“hero”) yang memperjuangkan dengan begitu berani sekali nasib kaum Cina yang tertindas, dan beliau mengagumi Alvin serta menghulurkan sekalung tahniah buat sex blogger itu.
(2) Bak Kut Teh bukan masakan babi
Soon Chai Ean menegaskan, “in direct translation it is Meat Bone Soup! How can that be insulting?”
Seorang lagi mendakwa hidangan itu “bak kut teh lembu”.

Stanley Ti berpendapat Melayu “super sensitive … on this, on that, on everything”.
Sambungnya, “Do you think the non-Malays have any respect for these leaders of yours?? (bermaksud PM, Menteri Dalam Negeri, Ketua Polis Negara dll)”
(4) Ramai yang serupa dengan Alvin
Kyros Clarence Yeo berkata kita semua boleh nampak bahawa ramai lagi yang macam Alvin (“there are plenty more like him still living in Malaysia”).
(5) Hanya ahli ‘Umno Bau’ dan mamak yang tersingggung
Stanley Teoh menyelar Iskandar (si penulis rencana mengkritik Alvin) sebagai ahli “Umno Bau” dan bersifat penghasut – umpama golongan mamak and Kimma yang telah menggesa Putrajaya untuk mengambil tindakan polis terhadap seorang peniaga yang kononnya menghina Islam.
(6) Jangan salahkan Alvin walhal ia rejim BN yang berpenyakit
Kata CJ Savvy, Alvin sebenarnya menzahirkan perasaan yang terpendam di hati orang kebanyakan yang bencikan rejim BN.

Alvin is probably publicly expressing what a lot of others Malaysian would love to do (but dare not) sans the sex exhibitionism part of course. NC Chew berpandangan peristiwa Bak Kut Teh tersebut hanya sebuah perkara yang sengaja dibesar-besarkan (“the whole thing has been blown out of proportion”) dan dalam pada itu, umat Islam yang berasa terkilan adalah terlampau sensitif (“Those who treat the event far too seriously are sick people too. A rather large section of the population is hypersensitive …”)
(8) Alvin akan dizalimi pihak berkuasa
Mak Yoon Nam menganggap Alvin mangsa penganiayaan yang dikambing-hitamkan pihak berkuasa kerana dia berbangsa Cina.
(9) Sekiranya Alvin dipenjarakan, dia pasti diseksa
Michael Wong khuatir Alvin akan diseksa ketika dalam tahanan kerana dia keturunan Cina.

Pada hemat Alwyn Song, orang Malaysia berperangai buruk dan ia patut bagi Alvin mendedahkan segala kehodohan mereka (“Alvin has articulated many truths about Malaysia. Ugly truths”).
Demikian sedikit pandangan warga siber tentang kontroversi Bak Kut Teh Alvin. Bagi mereka, Alvin tidak melakukan apa-apa kesalahan kerana tindakannya mengacah umat Islam bukan satu bentuk jenayah (“because there is no crime involved here which he has not hurt, steal, kill or rape anyone”).

Percakapan mantan pengarang kumpulan J-Star di atas ibarat Firster tegar.
Sepertimana CEO-nya Wong Chun Wai, June Wong turut menekankan: “I am all for Malay rule as long as my leaders are committed to and believe in a multiracial, multi-cultural and multi-religious Malaysia and want to keep it this way.”
Bagi mereka di J-Star dan MCA, negara majmuk Malaysia bererti wujudnya masyarakat berbilang kaum, kepelbagaian budaya dan pluralisme agama yang kesemuanya wajib diraikan.
Think-tank yang diasaskan oleh Najib Razak, yang diberi nama Global Movement of Moderates (GMM), sedang bekerjasama dengan kempen ‘Voices of Moderation’ J-Star. Ini melambangkan pentadbiran Najib sejajar dengan aspirasi yang dicorakkan pengarang-pengarang J-Star dan mereka yang sewaktu.
Penubuhan badan-badan baru NUCC (Majlis Perundingan Perpaduan Nasional), GMM, Pemandu, TalentCorp dsb membayangkan seolah-olah kerajaan kita rela lepas tangan urusan membina negara (nation-building), lalu tanggungjawab ini disub-kontrak kepada pihak swasta evangelista.

Kaum Nabi Lut dulu pun cakap Nabi Lut super sensitif.
Tu sebab umat Islam dipertanggungjawabkan jadi umat ‘wasatiyah’, yang menegakkan apa yang baik dan menjauhkan apa yang mungkar.
Umat wasatiyah inilah umat ‘moderation’. Yang berada diatas keseimbangan di antara melampau dan kekurangan. Ia juga bertindak sebagai ‘check and balance’ kepada umat manusia yang lain.
Ketika manusia-manusia sudah hilang pertimbangan dan semua ingin mendedahkan kemaluan-kemaluan mereka pada umum, umat Islam bertindak untuk mengingatkan dan mencegah kerana ianya bukan sesuatu yang natural atau fitrah. Manusia diciptakan untuk memakai pakaian! Manusia mempunyai had dari segi moral dan tidak seharusnya melakukan perkara yang memalukan.
Kerosakan yang besar ialah apabila hilangnya sifat wasatiyah ini pada umat Islam. Mungkin kerana hanyut dengan pengaruh umat lain yang sememangnya mudah hanyut. Jika begitu, dikhuatiri pusingan fitrah bakal berlaku sebagaimana umat Nabi Lut menerima padahnya.
Kerana apa yang berlaku pada hari ini tetap mengikut corak fitrah alam yang berlaku kepada manusia-manusia terdahulu.

Petaling Jaya Utara Umno deputy division chief Mohamad Azli Mohemed Saad said the assembly should also discuss whether the vernacular school system should be continued.
“Many are of the opinion that Chinese vernacular schools have been exploited by opposition parties to incite hatred towards other races, and spread racial and anti-government sentiments.

It’s a mistake to target Chinese schools. I really doubt that 7-12 year olds are interested to listen to anti-government political rhetoric.
Mostly, the kids are given a lot of homework to do.
Where “the opposition party” (read DAP evangelista politicians) are active is in the churches.
The EvangeliSTAR campaign called ‘Voices of Moderation’ is going into the colleges and universities to indoctrinate the students.
– Clueless Umno should first look into their own backyard.
– Clueless Umno ask why their coalition minion the MCA, which owns the J-Star, is creeping into campuses to brainwash impressionable young minds and undermining the very foundation of BN’s working formula which has served their political co-operation since 1952.
– Clueless Umno should demand to know why their even more clueless party president is supporting the J-Star campaign through the EvangeliSTAR partnership with the PM’s think tank (Global Movement of Moderates).
– Clueless Umno should weed out renegade members like Saifuddin Abdullah the GMM president who has been rejected by the Malay electorate of Temerloh as well as his party division members.

Chinese kids become radicalized the moment they get to secondary schools. That’s when they realize that they are different from the other students. All the stereotypes about the Malays, Indians and other races become reality.
The vernacular schools are not the problem. The language of instruction, the syllabus, they are just fine. The teachers are just fine too. No problem. It is what the kids say to, among themselves that give rise to problems. For instance if a kid says that Malays, Indians are so and so and his friends believe him then they start forming stereotypes.
Now back to what I said about when they get to secondary schools. They noticed that things are very different so more emphasis is placed on stressing the difference rather than on what they have in common with kids of other races.
With social media now so prevalent, the differences become way too visible so opportunists start to take advantage of the students. Mind you students are impressionable. It is easy to influence them.
By the time they enter university it becomes very difficult to discard the stereotypes they have of people.

Chinese kids go to sekolah kebangsaan for their secondary education, that is unless they opt for Chinese private secondary school – a stream which is gaining popularity by the day.

I never understood the late Tunku move to give automatic citizenship to 1 million Chinese immigrants and at the same time allowed the SJK to continue.

Earlier in 1952, there was a separate relaxation of the qualification that enabled 1.2 Chinese to become citizens.

Based on sound sociological and pedagogical perspectives could anyone disagree with this statement? What remains is the careful planning and implementation of the national mainstream school with integrated-vernacular curriculum, wherein all concerned parties will consult in earnest.
There are many like Alvin, they occupy the discourse taking place on social media and most, they are overwhelmingly Chinese. What’s really disturbing about them is that they harbor a lot of hatred toward the Malays. I’ve said this many times. A lot of hate is being distributed online and the intensity is growing by the day. Something really is going to happen sooner rather than later.
I would like to remind everyone that we have a state election in Sarawak in less than 2 years, maybe 18 months from now. With all the hate distributed all over social media, and a victory for the ruling coalition is expected, we could well have an occupy movement taking place in the state capital Kuching and other major cities in the state by disgruntled opposition supporters. I hope the PDRM and ATM have a contingency plan in place to deal with this.
I would also like to remind everyone that we will have a GE in 2018. The GE could well be the last stand for BN. But then again the same was said about GE13 being the last stand of BN but it turned out BN survived. But I m really concerned by what the opposition supporters will do in the event that BN win the GE in 2018 yet again. They could instigate an even bigger uprising. An occupy movement. I hope PDRM and ATM and our security forces are ready for any eventuality.

Umno and the Sarawak pribumi parties survived. The BN Chinese component parties were wiped out. MCA Parliament seats, with the sole exception of Labis, are all in Malay-majority areas.
This country has been governed through power sharing and kongsi for so many donkey years. But when the Chinese think by rallying around DAP they can grab the power, that’s the end of the game. They hate UMNO and Malays for taking up the lead in the power kongsi. But over the years the Chinese has become prosper and basically have the economy in their hand.
The idea of power grab is nothing new. Chin Peng and his malay cronies has tried long long time ago.
For DAP to rule, they need to kongsi with PKR and PAS… and PkR and PAS are just donkeys for DAP to ride on. These two rakan kongsi have no teeth… Like bed ridden old ladies.

What moderation does the newspaper practise when The Star Says (diorang punya lidang pengarang) non Firsters are “hate-spewing, divisive, race-obsessed ignoramuses” and its CEO continually rants against the “racists, extremists and bigots” who he claims are devoid of any “rational and balanced views”.
Inclusiveness by the J-Star Chinese?
Chinese no racism? Let me ask everyone this:
– Shanghai has a population of more than 24 million. Would the city allow more than three million residents of a different skin colour – and who are unable to speak Chinese to boot – to overnight become China nationals that qualify to carry China passports?
That’s what the Umno (daily accused as “racist” by Hannah Yeoh and her ilk) enabled one million Chinese (and Indian) immigrants to do at the stroke of midnight on 31 Aug 1957.
Even more people are unaware that in 1952, Tanah Melayu liberalized its citizenship laws and this freeing of the criteria to qualify had made another (separate) 1.2 million Chinese to become Malayan citizens.
PPTA has the most PTA and clueless president in Umno history! Why is Najib being so apologetic and defensive to the conniving evangelistas?

That is why I often say Najib must go. It is the first step towards “pemulihan UMNO”. Najib favours those who want UMNO dead over genuine UMNO supporters.
Until UMNO divisional leaders show guts in asking Najib to go, UMNO will be seen as distant by the very malay race. UMNO is plain lucky now as until today there is no other credible Malay based party. PAS is in a mess while PKR is too “tak beriman” for Malays.
I am afraid when Malays have enough of Najib’s stupid decision that they will punish UMNO contestants in next election. When this takes place, scores of good Malay leaders such as Mukhriz, Mohd Hassan, Dr Zambri will too rejected.
I said once that UMNO needs politicians like Tun Ghaffar Baba who until his death was a trusted politician. He was deemed not “modern” but he delivered. All because people can feel his sincerity. Who says that only kampung folks respect him? Even I who vote in urban area will choose him as I know he during his lifetime a good politician.

Sampai la ni pertanyaan Tun M yang mewakili suara rakyat yang sebahagian nya bekas menteri, penjawat awam tertinggi samada yang dah bersara atau yang masih bertugas, ahli perniagaan, orang awam malahan ada juga ketua bahagian yang mengadu kepada Tun M mengenai 1MDB juga kerisauan rakyat terutamanya penyokong BN atas pagar “silent majority” berkaitan dasar-dasar yang pro kepada pembngkang tidak dijawab oleh sesiapa pun.

What i see is, the Chinese community hates the malay, they does not recognize their (malay) leaders. They sees the government affirmative actions as an oppression, while in other hand, making the economy which they (Chinese) control, only accessible to Chinese.
The situation is beyond reconciliation, and I found no solution for this.
