Ah Jib taking Che Det back to May 1969

Najib Razak has specifically raised the matter of Tun losing his Kota Setar seat in the 10 May 1969 general election.

Since the BN chairman chooses to highlight this particular point at the Umno general assembly, I believe that we should indulge Ah Jib Gor and join him in revisiting the past.

Najib’s speech at closing of PAU:

“Ada wakil yang kata kita tak perlu pada undi orang Cina. Saya nak beritahu bahawa kalau kita tengok dari segi sejarah kenapa Tunku Abdul Rahman buat Perikatan kalau tak menguntungkan kita, tuan-tuan ingat Tunku buat Perikatan tak?

“Kalau pada tahun 1974 Tun Razak buat Barisan Nasional tak menguntungkan kita, tuan-tuan ingat Tunku buat Barisan Nasional?

“Kalau lepas Tun Razak, Tun Mahathir, Pak Lah, sampai zaman sekarang kita pertahankan Barisan Nasional, kenapa? Mestilah ada sebab. Kalau kita tak perlu kepada undi mereka, mengapa kita wujudkan Perikatan dan Barisan Nasional?

“Saya masih ingat lagi beberapa kali Tun Mahathir dalam perhimpunan ini sebut mengapa dia kalah dulu. Dia terangkan bahawa dalam ‘straight fight’ satu lawan satu, kalau dicabut undi – katalah 3,000 daripada kita – dibagi kepada pembangkang 3,000, defisitnya bukan 3,000 tapi 6,000. Sebab tulah dia kata dia kalah.

“Undi orang Melayu tak cukup nak ditampung sebab pada masa itu dia terkeluar ayat dia tak perlu kepada undi Cina, dia kalah. Itu satu pengajaran pada dia.”

Remember, remember 26 September

In 1969, Dr Mahathir Mohamad lost his Parliament seat to PAS challenger Yusof Rawa by 989 votes. On Sept 26 the same year, he was sacked from Umno for his stinging criticism of the Tunku.

The May 10 election took place 45 years ago – two generations have passed and many people have forgotten. Tun on the other hand may be a hundred years old but he has the memory of a woolly mammoth (elephant). His recall is still very sharp.

He can remember that he was right about the situation in 1969 and the Prime Minister was wrong. Tunku was an aristocrat who was divorced from the Malay ground and blur.

Today Dr M is once more reading the pulse of the nation quite correctly while the Prime Minister is woefully mistaken. Najib is a silver spooner who, like the Tunku, is similarly divorced from the Malay grassroots and clueless.

Human nature does not change

What would have happened to Malaysia if the DAP succeeded in taking over Selangor in 1969?

They almost did, you know.

Gerakan was then an opposition party. Its four seats, combined with the DAP’s nine and an independent candidate’s one, gave the opposition altogether 14 seats in the Selangor state assembly.

The Alliance too had 14 seats: Umno (12), MIC (1), MCA (1)

May1969 Selangor election

Both sides were deadlocked 14-14 in the Selangor legislature.

Perikatan had failed to secure even a simple majority as indicated by the pie chart.

The DAP evangelistas are 3G + 1.

They are seekers of GOLD and self-GLORY and they have no qualms in exploiting the GOSPEL in order to feed their insatiable GREED.

Even today in Selangor, their greediness is on open display. DAP is already occupying the Speaker’s chair. They recently lost the Deputy Speaker post to PAS through a democratic vote taken in the House.

But because DAP is so very greedy, the party’s Selangor chairman evangelista Tony Pua now wants an additional post, Deputy Speaker II, to be created and handed over to them.

Pity the Umno bloggers

The volunteers and operatives defending Umno in cyberspace were publicly lambasted by Ah Jib Gor at the PAU on Saturday evening.

Truth to tell, these Umno bloggers are no match for the What-Kind-of-People-are-They. We can’t really blame them because it is simply not in the nature of the Malay to be able to do that kind of thing to other people which the Yahudi Yeohs are capable of doing.

The main weapon of the YYs is fitnah and sowing hatred. They do this and much, much worse without any compunction nor conscience.

Ah Jib Gor is singularly ill-equipped to fight a war against this kind of people – the Bintang Lima.

He’s harbouring a death wish, not to mention delusional, to keep harping on trying to get back the Chinese vote.

The man is obviously not thinking straight. How can he even entertain the thought that there could possibly be any Chinese swingback considering all the hate and contempt shown for Umno?

          1. It’s a mistaken analogy:

      Kembalikan ISA!!!

  2. Najib’s become the Emperor with no clothes on. Only listens to flattery, surrounds himself with sycophants, loves to trumpet his “achievements” (latest in NST today where he said the Indus Foundation was “my” idea. Remember how he droned on about “his” decision to negotiate with Ukrainian rebels) while BN/UMNO is hurtling over a cliff.

I despaired listening to him at the UMNO GA, especially his obssession with courting the Chinese vote. Why cannot he get the message that the Chinese votes gave long disappeared into the maw? He’s like a useless husband ignoring poor loyal wife at home while pathetically chasing gold digger mistress who takes his money while cheating on him.

He’s so detached from reality. I blame it on his elitist background. He’s more comfortable listening to his own “kind” of people, ie English-speaking types who studied abroad, than to the hoi polloi.

And his bangang comment was the worst! Cannot even criticise. He thinks pro-Umno/Bn bloggers means fulsome praise for him. Err, Earth to Najib, I support BN not because of you…

Seriously, habis BN in the coming poll. MCA and Gerakan total write-offs, selfish UMNO warlords and MIC president scared even to meet Cameron residents nevermind Hindraf.

    1. Irma,

There is another alternative to solve UMNO’s predicament. Make najib retires.

How? The Ketua bahagians must play the role. And muhyiddin must initiate changes. No other people can do it without Muhyiddin starting the process.

The choice is with UMNO members.

      1. But will this happen? Ketua bahagian, sorry lah, all got vested interest. Eg, during last general election in a small town where a friend works, he said the orang kampung got pissed and didn’t want to help put up banners and campaign because the Umno head bolot all the Tshirts and caps for his minions. We can laugh at this, but that’s how Umno loses support. Tamak even for something as simple as that.

Also, will Muhiyuddin have the balls to go for it? I really wish something drastic happens to turn around Umno. I cannot bear to think of our country being lorded over by the Brylcreemed bully and that Evil Incarnate Play-Both-Sides!

Will support PAS then, what to do.

        1. irma,

That is the position. If Muhyiddin starts the process, other ketua bahagian will take note. Muhyiddin by virtue of his position as No 2 in UMNO is the only person who can initiate change.

It is very difficult if not impossible for others to start. It will be a disaster if someone starts on asking Najib to retire and suddenly Muhyiddin says he does not agree to it.

So that is the situation. If Muhyiddin does not initiate change, most likely UMNO will lose power in next election as Malays are upset with Najib. And as Najib helms UMNO, his staying as UMNO President will make UMNO as a sitting duck.

          The choice is with Muhyiddin.

          1. You put too much faith in Muhiyiddin. He will be at best, no better than Najib. Wither Najib or Muhiyiddin, Umno is doomed as it insists on babbling about race and religion while our country’s income is declining due to dropping oil prices and a weakening ringgit, and the man on the street is worrying about rising costs of living and stagnant salaries.

        2. Irma is right about the ketua bahagian having vested interest. And all of them will save their periuk nasi first.

My ketua bahagian is from my dad’s generation and he’s been holding that position since the ’70’s. He has never contested in any GE because my area has always been about MCA vs DAP.

If you do a poll on him, no one seems to like him, everyone thinks he’s corrupt and yet when it comes to Umno elections he will always win. Makes you wonder if the “corrupt” ketua has corrupted his followers and how much funds does he have to fund his win.

  3. Muhyidin, Hishamudin, wont be a factor, it all boils down to money.

If our Badawi former PM, can create WAU at MAS for his own benefit what more.

Even at branch or division level money and privileges come first, second comes Umno,

Muhyidin may become numero uno but thats no guarantee that he would be able to turn thing around.

  4. Someone in their circle commented exactly the same to me and even quoted the exPM thingy.

Katanya, yg bawah2 nak melalak, melalak la sampai tua. Means nothing to them so long as their projects are secured and protected.

I agak terkejut juga when suddenly DSN came out with his ‘bangang’, melalak dan bangang tu ada persamaan maksud.

  5. Haven’t you heard a good news. Azmin slashed cabinet members wage. He as mb is the least & speaker is the biggest, about 1/3. Do you Madame speaker going to take this easy ?

    1. With the pay slash, she may have to cut down on buying new branded handbags. Oh yes, and her Bak Kut Teh consumption too.

        1. They really love to employ foreigners as if local talents are not available. Then pay these people in USD, and shower them with all sorts of allowances.

Dah lebih 60thn masakan DongZongkong tak ade dalam simpanan mereka rakyat Malaysia yg pakar dan mahir dalam Bahasa Mandarin kut?

BTW Indon, Bangla, Mynmar, Filipino, Cambodians, Thais, Viets dll, mai dok Malaysia 2thn dah pandai bukan saja cakap tapi tulis dalam Bahasa Malaysia.

          1. You need real world skills, professional expertise to survive. Of course knowing a foreign language is helpful but they are just that.

Is the English language important ? Yes it is but only for those who participate in the global economy.

Is Mandarin important ? Yes it is but only for those who participate in the global economy.

Then you look at the tens of millions of people in USA, UK China etc who know English and Mandarin and they speak these 2 languages and they are out of world. Does knowing these languages, English and Mandarin, help them in finding employment ? They are jobless even though they know these languages.

So you see, what most people don’t understand is that these languages and other foreign languages, they are important only for those who are participants of the global economy. If you want to be part of the global economy then by all means learn these languages.

  6. “”’China’s Mandarin teachers, Mathematics experts for schools in Malaysia: Muhyiddin””

For chinese semua boleh, langit bulan pun boleh

Our own national school system so screwed up, yet want to empower others so day can pursue their education overseas and dont return. And worse still degrade and humiliate the country.

If i am not mistaken another one of Muhyiddin bright ideas was to bring in teachers from India to teach english here.

Dumb ideas from a minister , but then what do you expect you have Najib as yardstick

  7. HA, re Najib’s comments on pro-UMNO bloggers, do you think it’s a personal message/warning for someone at the top of this list?
