“MCA Youth chief Chong Sin Woon has urged the “irresponsible” Agriculture and Agro-based Industries Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob to raise cattle and grow potatoes instead of sitting in cabinet.”
I haven’t see the original message but 2 scenarios came to mind.
Potatoes are not really insulting but the real insult is actually cassava or sweet potatoes. Calling someone “sweet potato” is insulting. In Chinese “huan choo” or Idiot and in BM “kayu” (ubi kayu) or stupid.
Scenarios:
A. If the message was in English, then Chong is so Cina Bukit he cannot differentiate between “potato” and “sweet potato”
B. Malaysiakini and the English press are so banana that they cannot differentiate between “huan choo” and “tang choo”.

bn boleh mengekalkan mca dengan syarat bagi kerusi di kawasan majority non bumi sahaja.
kaum cina amat selesa dengan keadaan sekarang di mana dari luar atau dalam kerajaan, suara mereka sampai. oleh itu untuk checkmate hanya perlu letak mereka bertanding di kerusi yang disebut di atas sahaja.
kita mahu tengok boleh ke mca hidup tanpa sokongan majority melayu bumiputera. manakala kaum cina pula kena buat keputusan adakah mca patut dibungkus dan dibuang ke dalam tong sampah atau masih mahu kekalkan talian hayat.
sebab dari segi community service, khidmat mca boleh dikatakan terbaik antara parti2 politik di Malaysia. mintalah pada dap untuk mula bagi community service pula. dap kenalah belajar setelkan kes along, judi, rompakan, keselamatan penduduk, orang gelandangan dll. sebagai persediaan nak jadi pentadbir.
jangan bila dah dapat kuasa baru nak pikir. bila kena pressure, buat bodoh saja dan cop orang tu sebagai ejen umno bn. kuasa hanya alat (tools) untuk bagi community service (mean). kenapa logic mudah macam ni kaum cina tak faham?

Hi jentayu, totally agree with you, I was always on the fence about these politicians because both are the different sides of the same coin (bribery, etc).
2 years ago, in the midst of election, my friend ask me out for coffee.. what I initially thought was a “catch up, time among friends”, turn into ugly, slandering, name calling, vilifying of umno. And since umno is a malay party, of course I would take offence, although I don’t agree with most of what umno did. You can hear the most ridiculous stories from your ‘dap voting’ friends… seriously, the fiction which they swallow, hook, line & sinker.
My point is, my friend (not gonna mention his ethnic, its rather obvious), i met him 3 months ago, and he have a little trouble with one of his sub-contractors (he’s doing renovation), and he was about to do a police report.. And he said he’s gonna meet a YB for help and guess which party he’s turning for help?? M.C.A….
CNY is coming around the corner, and Im tired of hearing my non-malay friends, insinuating all this road blocks are for the police and traffic police looking for ang pow…. Its a norm, for Malaysian (mostly non-malays), to stereotype malays are incline to receiving bribe… I’ve been offered numerous time…. Haish…!!

This is the reason why those Jerusubang evangelical churches preaching the Gospel of Prosperity are such a hit with the Chinese crowd.
The J-Juice church congregations believe that other people must all share the same values as them, i.e. worshiping the God of Prosperity.
They simply do not have it in their mental make-up to be able to imagine that not everybody thinks like them (in fact, a lot of the rest of the world don’t).
And that not everybody behaves like them and not everybody subscribes to their ultra kiasu doctrine where the ends justify the means, i.e. willing to do anything and stopping at nothing in order to win (ABU! ABU! ABU!).
When you’re not on their side and you disagree with their ethos, then you become open season for their “ugly, slandering, name calling, vilifying” attacks even though they claim that they love their neighbour and are always willing to turn the other cheek.

memang betul, MCA seharusnya berundur secara terhormat jika masih mahu berlagak DAP dalam BN.
sudah lama kita nampak ‘permainan’ MCA dan saya yakin pucuk pimpinan UMNO dan ahli UMNO semuanya sudah lama memendam rasa dengan tindak-tanduk pemimpin MCA. apa yang tidak berlaku ialah desakan supaya MCA keluar dari BN.
agaknya nak tunggu kena desak dan kena asak baru nak sedar diri?
apapun, takziah kepada keluarga Tuan Guru Nik Aziz yang baru kembali ke Rahmatullah malam tadi. kita dapati hampir semua orang Melayu samada PAS mahupun UMNO bersedih atas pemergian al-marhum. adakah ini tanda-tanda awal kerjasama UMNO dan PAS akan berlaku?
jika berlaku, tidakkah ini merupakan hal yang amat ditakuti oleh DAP dan sekutunya MCA?
