Why you don’t ask the same question for action to be taken on Utusan and Umno politicians that have made equally seditious statements?
As far as I’m aware, TMI is the only publication implicated in police report lodged by Penyimpan Mohor Besar.
The Majlis Raja-Raja making a police report (unless I’m mistaken) is quite unprecedented.
The Rulers also pick and appoint the members of Majlis Fatwa. The fatwa council has similarly been misrepresented by TMI viz. the Karpal ‘RIP’ (faked) controversy.
Insofar as I can recall, Utusan has not defamed Majlis Fatwa.
No doubt the TMI article is seditious vis-a-vis MRR.
But Utusan and Umno politicians have in the past made seditious statements against the non-Malays and non-Islamic religions. Sedition Act not only protects the MRR per se. The law protects the non-Malays and non-Islamic religions as well.
Please refer to section 3 of the Act with the heading ‘seditious tendency’, particularly para (e).
Can you recall any Utusan articles and statements of Umno politicians that are seditious?
