Calvin believes that the Christian employee (below) hired by the MCA media company “looks like your archetype, true blue Dapster“.

Pictured below is J-Star reporter Nicholas Cheng.

Recently on Sunday morning, Nicholas was assigned to cover the demo by Taman Medan residents against a new charismatic church in their neighbourhood.

“The sheer stupidity of those protesting” is Nicholas’ opinion about the group’s grouses against the big cross nailed on the church’s facade.

He then asked the Malay protesters, “Who gives you the right to claim this land as Muslim land?”

Miss Helen, while I admire your sincerity and tireless effort to wake up the sleeping people (you know who), you must admit that some characteristics of these people described below are really going to crush your hope:

    1. lazy to think

    2. Believing that by turning away from the problem will eventually ‘shy’ the problem away,

    3. In front of real problem the principle to be adopted is to “sangka baik”,

    4. Believing that it’s not necessary to fight against enemy propaganda because

    a. Islam prohibits fitnah or ngumpat of anykind so to counter by propaganda is haram,
    b. Mere benci dalam hati is good enough, though it’s the weakest of iman but it’s iman anyway,
    c. Takpe lah, dia nak hidup jugak, so it’s graciously forgiven (dapat syurga lagi hehehe!)

    5. Believing that eventually the bangsa will be saved through mengamok (paling pandai dalam hal ni, even the word amok was from them), come what may.

What happen to the Star ? Sending an immature RBA material kid to do reporting on demonstration. I could feel the head honcho of this kid have an evil plan for him. If that boy left alone to face angry crowd incessant with rude question, guess which papers gonna get most sale tomorrow. Not to mention a new martyr. Late Teoh Beng Hock doesn’t pull much crowd now day.

Talking about Dapsters, Teresa Kok, Zairil and Steven Sim went to Egypt to influence and entice young Malay students there. Looks like DAP already had an Al Azhar alumni in their ranks helping them to do this.

ISMA had a lot to say about that in their website. Happens that ISMA members were present in the DAP event too. We probably see more arguments between DAP and ISMA soon.

Well, maybe PAS should do the same as DAP. Go to Taiwan and preach and proselytize to young Malaysian Chinese students. I don’t know about Taiwan laws, but at least in Malaysia I don’t think it’s illegal for Muslims to convert non Muslims of adult age, though non Muslims proselytizing Muslims is not allowed. They should take advantage of that, being an Islamic party and all.

They seemed pretty pleased when they gossiped that Guan Eng would convert after they win the GE, so why not be pro active? The more Muslims, especially in parliament, easier for them to push their hudud, don’t you think?

I’ve a hunch, there was a deliberate attempt to provoke the Malays in Taman Medan. These folks are easily agitated due to previous racial and religious tension. e.g, Deadly Kg. Medan incident in 2001.

On several occasion pig head was also thrown into mosque’s compound. Therefore, if someone wants to convert shop-lots into places of worship, without approval from local authorities, there are no way, any leaders could do anything to avert things like this.

This might also be a sort of covert tactic to give BN a bad impression for the coming Sarawak State election. Politicians from DAP seems to be quiet. Only Church people in Sarawak are the loudest to condemn.

These racist people are very skillful on how to agitate commotion to their advantage. The Police should check whether, this 2 day old illegal ‘church’ is really ready for operation or just as ‘bait’ to instigate tension. Sadly, those folks in Taman Medan gulp the bait, the way they did.

‘……..I asked them, what authority do you have to tell someone else to not have a church here? Who gives you the right to claim this land as Muslim land? How will a cross turn your son into a Christian……’

‘Right or wrong, it is their sensitivity’ Pespect it!

    5. Pada masa sama, mereka tuduh UMNO punya kerja…

Betul-betul taktik baling satu batu kena dua burung….

Tapi, ‘burung’UMNO Selangor dah lama mati dahhh…….!

Keluarga IGP sebelah parti mana sebenarnya?

Nak tahu kebenaran, kena tubuh RCI.

Thanks for the Offspring vid. We used to sing it back in school.

First up, I disagree with the protesters doing what they did. They could have reported to the authorities in order to allow the law to run its course.

Secondly, I don’t condone what the church did either. They should have considered the sensitivity of a public potrayal of the cross in a predominantly Muslim area.

Which takes us to the Star reporter. If you cannot be objective about your feelings over what you’re covering, you should have recused yourself. He admitted as much & his line of questioning was provocative, intended or otherwise. We can only surmise that he is unable to be objective while discharging his duties.

All in, this is a regrettable incident which shouldn’t haven’t happened if there were more acceptance in society. Churches in industrial areas or shophouses are a norm now. Their legitimacy is another matter altogether as even Catholic churches e.g. Thomas More Subang, Divine Mercy Shah Alam, Kristus Aman TTDI are located in these areas.

In fact having said that, the traditional denominations appear poorer than the new age evangelists judging by Calvary Church & Hannah’s Good Harvest premises
