Since Muslims view Christ as a great prophet, I don’t think they would mind if a phrase from his holy book is used in campaigns etc. If they do, then they obviously are ignorant of their own faith.

Jeff, you are correct about Muslims’ view of Nabi Isa a.s. as a Great Prophet of Islam but the Bible from which the quote was taken is NOT the Kitab Injeel which the Muslim believes was revealed to Nabi Isa a.s..

The Bible of today has been translated from many languages from its original (Aramaic) that it has lost its true meaning. Only those ill-informed ‘muslims’ will say that the Bible is the Injeel. The two books are not the same.

I mind because I am NOT ignorant of my own faith.

Really? The Bible has been corrupt? Did you do an in depth study of Christian Scripture, study its origins, history and preservation? Did you attempt to study what Christian scholars have to say about it or are you just spouting the common lie that Muslims are told? This is a long read but it will clearly refute what Muslims claim…

If the Scriptures of the Jews and Christians were altered before the death of Muhammad, then surely he WOULD NOT have been instructed by God to recite the following:

I believe in the Book (of the People of the Book) which God has sent down…
        Surat-ush Shura (42):15

We believe in God, and the revelation given to us, and to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and that given to Moses and Jesus, and that given to (all) Prophets from their Lord. We make no difference between one and another of them.
        Surat-ul Baqara (2):136

O People of the Book Ye have no ground to stand upon unless ye stand fast by the Law, the Gospel, and all the revelation that has come to you from your Lord.
        Surat-ul Maida (5):68

Let the People of the Gospel judge by what God has revealed therein.
        Surat-ul Maida (5):47

And in their footsteps we sent Jesus the son of Mary confirming the Law that had come before him. We sent him the Gospel: therein was guidance and light, and confirmation of the Law.
        Surat-ul Maida (5):46

If thou (Muhammad) are in doubt as to what We have revealed, then ask the People of the Book.

It is highly unlikely that the Scriptures could have been altered after the death of Muhammad for the following reasons:

By 600 A.D., Christianity had spread into Asia, Africa, and Europe. There is no evidence of a worldwide council that met for the purpose of altering the Scriptures.

Since Muslims revere the Holy Books, converts from Judaism and Christianity would have retained the true texts; however, such texts are nowhere to be found.

Manuscripts still exist from the fourth and fifth centuries (Muhammad lived in the sixth century). These manuscripts line up with today’s translations of the Scriptures and any variant readings are noted.

        How was it changed?

Since Judaism and Christianity spread throughout the world, it would have been impossible for anyone to collect all the Holy Books, manuscripts, and writings containing Scriptural references from all churches, synagogues, libraries, schools, and homes, and make the changes, and then return them all without anyone knowing!

Al-Qur’an itself says no one can alter the Word of God:

The Word of thy Lord doth find its fulfillment in truth and in justice. None can change His Words.
        Surat-ul An’am (6):15

No change can there be in the Words of God.
        Surat-u Yunus (10):64

If Muslims claim from these verses that God has been able to protect the Qur’an from any corruption, then it should be possible for them to believe that God is powerful enough to preserve all the previous Holy Books as well!

Jeff, the Quran was revealed and sent because the other books have been so corrupted.

And the Bible ( as opposed to Injil) till today, it has been revised to so many versions and you still maintain that it is still pure and pristine?

And their (Bible) scholars are still debating on their inclusive and exclusive or certain texts.

          Go read up

Jeff; I’m glad that you have done your research well but tell me one thing, have you ever read the Bible/Gospel in its original Language? I don’t think so. Why do you think Allah sent Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. notwithstanding that Prophet Isa a.s. was sent previously? It was due to the fact that Prophet Isa a.s.’ teachings have gone astray. The concept of Trinity came later. Prophet Isa a.s. never proclaimed to be the Son of God. Prophet Isa a.s. was never crucified.

I am speaking purely from the Muslim’s point of view and belief. If you think that I am wrong, so be it. I am not here to judge your religion ( I assume it is Christianity). I am here to state that Muslims do not believe that the Bible of today is the same Kitab Injeel that was originally reveled to Prophet Isa a.s.

The Quran, on the other hand has been maintained in the original language it was revealed. i.e. Arabic. That is why, if you were to bring a Bahasa malaysia translation or English translation of the Quran to me, I have no problem touching it without performing the wudu’ first because the Translation is not the Quran. Some of the meaning has been lost via translation. That is only one step of translation. Imagine if it has gone through Aramaic, Greek, English etc.

References to the Quran that you made in that which Prophet Isa a.s. was quoted to say that he has not come to change the Law (as revealed to Prophet Musa a.s.) but to confirm it was revealed by Allah to Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. to correct the view that Prophet Isa came with a new set of rules for the Nasrani (Christians) to follow. You quoted from the Quran but you did not see the reason. The reason was that Prophet Musa a.s.’s command that Jews shall not partake in the eating of swine has somehow been ignored by the Christians- as if Prophet Isa came to change the Law of Prophet Musa a.s.. That is just one example.

Allah has indeed preserved the Quran which is the word of God as was revealed to Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. in its original form. That was the Promise Allah made to the Ummah of Prophet Muhammad s.a.w.

Please realise that when Muslims talk about the words of Allah, we specifically refer to the actual words of Allah; word for word. We do not refer to alleged words of Allah as written by sahabat-sahabat (Companions) of Prophets Muhammad s.a.w. in their own Books; if you get what I mean.

Hi Jeff, Pwincess s ultimately impressed but Pwincess got confused a bit, so here are some questions for you. Please enlighten the Pwincess.

          (1) Who Did the Angel Speak to Regarding the Birth of Jesus?

Matthew 1:20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
          (The angel appeared to Joseph.)

Luke 1:28 In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.”
          (The angel spoke to Mary.)

          (2) Was Jesus Born in a House or a Manger?

Matthew 2:11 On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.
          (In a house)

Luke 2:7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
(In a manger. There was no room in the inn.)

          (3) Where Did Jesus Go After Feeding the 5,000?

Mark 6:53: When they had crossed over, they landed at Gennesaret and anchored there.
(Jesus and the disciples went to Gennesaret.)

John 6:24-25: Once the crowd realized that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they got into the boats and went to Capernaum in search of Jesus. When they found him on the other side of the lake, they asked him, “Rabbi, when did you get here?”
(Jesus and the disciples went to Capernaum.)

          (4) Who Brought the Capernaum Centurion’a Request to Jesus?

Matthew 8:5: And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him.
(It’s the centurion himself who comes.)

Luke 7:3: And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.
          (The centurion sends some elders.)

Luke 7:6: Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof.
(The centurion sends friends. Same book, same chapter as “elders.”)

Only four questions so far and please don’t blame Pwincess. These questions were taken from a public domain.

          Love,
          Pwincess.

          Jeff,

Before you can conclude that our Rasulullah “copied” from ….. Quite simply please help yourself with this mystery just try to search in the Holy Bible King James version (I am sure you have one). Look for the proof in the book that Jesus Christ have asked you people to become a Christian?

I have tried before but I could not find any verses in the whole text of the that Holy Book. Do that you shall find the answer even if you can or cannot find the specific text. Got it ;-)?

What if you cannot find the text what do that should mean to you? You should asked yourself or your local padre who is the smart bloke that say that Christian is Jesus faith or a God to that faith? If that Holy Bible is everything to you then look into the book what was the faith of Father Abraham?

You may wonder why I asked all this? To show or to open up your mind that the “Christian” Holy Book do have a big problem to begin with…..

Zabur adalah kitab suci, tiada masalah kalau sekarang kitab Zabur yang dipetik.

Cuma saya khuatir petikan ini digunakan untuk meletakkan ajaran Kristian di mana-mana.

How come it’s also quoted in the Hindu, Buddhist, Sikhism and Toiasts scriptures?

And also in one of the Condom brands?

    What a coincidence.

Obviously you are not qualified to talk about religions since your knowledge is still too shallow.

re: “How come it’s also quoted…”

YB Yeo Bee Yin who initiated #BeMyProtector (her DAP project) is an evangelista. Unless you’re claiming that she has deep knowledge of Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh and Taoist scriptures.

re: “And also in one of the Condom brands?”

It never crossed my mind. However Ms Yeo is also unmarried and condom is a guy thing.

re: “Obviously you are not qualified to talk about religions …”

Obviously you’ve been rajin menegakkan benang basah to defend the DAP agenda. Your fingerprints are everywhere – here, in Annie’s blog and the other political blogs.

        Dandy the Qualified,

Which book / scripture of the Taoists said that ? Just name the book / scripture, don’t need detail.

Buddha ever said something about protector ? You mean protection money for the Shaolin monks ?

You must be the truly enlightened one, like, you know, floating in the air wearing pampers type? Chanting eeooeeooeeoo….. with the eyes half closed?

This hashtag will cause more division amongst us because it is framing the majority Malays as being the big bully.

It may seem to be a positive message on the surface but in actuality, it is a poisonous thing.

for once I agree with madame speaker that subang jaya is a hub for human trafficking. I had a first hand experience buying a cake at a shop in subang jaya when that Chinese salesgirl cannot speak simple malay or English.

which is awkward since an apek or ah so however broken or pelat their malay or English are will still understand simple words like ‘berapa harga?’ or ‘how much?’.

the owner quickly pull that girl and deal with me directly. I guess this is only one example of human trafficking which have contributed heavily to massive majority of madame speaker. not those poor bangla whom they claim. its like a thief claiming someone else were stealing to save their neck.

the last time I check, china/Taiwan/hong kong/macau or any Chinese dominated country is off the foreign workers source country as can be seen here : http://www.moha.gov.my/index.php/en/bahagian-pa-dasar-dasar-semasa/negara-sumber.

How come everyone is drunk on religion and sex espeicially Muftis, Bishops, Ulamaks, Missionaries and preachers?

Behind all these facade, so many reported and unreported cases of rape, molest done by them during their time of preaching about Gods. Even the monks, priests, bomoh, sinseh of all religion also into this game.

And if they can’t control Lust, do you expect them to be God’s companions or doing God’s works?

Religion is not meant to enslave humans to anyone else.

Religion is not meant as a tool for self greed.

Religions are not meant for those who crave for sex.

You will know who are the sex addicts, Hamsap or gatal types by just looking at their faces and the way they sermonise about sex and it involves both genders.

Can you imagine the Arabs or Mat Sallehs without religion?

All if not most Asian women would be slaves already to their sexual appetite and lusts.

Thank God there are religions to control all those lusts.
