“PAS appears to be now wary of the new media or internet portals, which are allegedly used by those who are enemies of Islam, with a hidden agenda to twist the true meaning of the religion.

“The party’s information chief Nasrudin Hassan said the new media are providing the grassroots with information which is not only wrong, but biased as well.”

mKini portals anti-Islam

“Dia (DAP) tampar kita banyak kali. Bila kita kata jangan tampar pipi kanan sebab pedih, dia tampar pipi kiri. Kemudian dia tampar bertalu-talu. Akhirnya kita tampar dia sekali, baru dia tahu bahawa kena tampar itu sebenarnya pedih.

Lutut Siku Tantawi

“Saya rayu janganlah cabar kesabaran kami. – Ustaz Nasrudin Hassan at Tantawi

It already happened Helen. How did it happen, you have the chronology of the first aggressive attacks on Melayu (Umno) and later, on Islam, contantly through their media, until now.

The reason they move forward :-

    1. PM Najib is the subject. This is the fast track where moderation is introduced. Who is the ‘keeper’ none other than their ‘community’. Thus Jamil Khir and Ulamaks, much been neglected. The first success.

    2. By keeping PM Najib busy, all issues about Islam, being neglected fully. Do we hear Najib’s statements, protecting Islam ? Or at least warned the non muslims extremists about their damaged orovocations?

Chris, I don’t know about you. But the very reason why my handle is as such is because I simply don’t buy the western term ‘Islamist’. Islam is Islam. Muslims are Muslims. They come in many colours like everyone else. Some we like. Some we don’t like. No two ways about it.

And I don’t think it is best to discuss Islam and Muslim starting with a term coined by those who knows nothing about the religion but at the same time are so worked up to control it.

At least not as a starting point. At least not to me.

        An ‘Islamist’ is defined as

        adj
        1. (Islam) supporting or advocating Islamic fundamentalism
        n
        2. (Islam) a supporter or advocate of Islamic fundamentalism

So, your ‘handle’ [sic] meant you cannot accept the definition of Islamist because it was coined by the West?

Or you simply opined all Muslims are Islamists. Some prefer to remain in the closet, others prance about in the open?

“Al-Azhar Top Cleric calls for Religious Teaching Reform”
        (23 February 2015)

        http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-31580130

The Grand Imam of Egypt’s top Islamic institution – al-Azhar University – has called for a radical reform of religious teaching to tackle the spread of Islamic extremism. Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayeb said that a historical misreading and “bad interpretations” of the Koran and the life of Prophet Muhammad, had led to intolerant interpretations of Islam. He condemned terrorism at the opening of a three-day counter-terrorism forum in the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia. “The only hope for the Muslim nation to recover unity is to tackle in our schools and universities this tendency to accuse other Muslims of being unbelievers,” he said.
Saudi Arabian King Salman stated that terrorism – the product of extremist ideology – was a “threat to our Muslim nation and the entire world”.
