If Red Shirts had demo at Komtar instead of Chinatown

Regular reader tebing tinggi commented @ 2015/09/30 at 9:23 pm on my article ‘China knows what she is doing‘:

tebing tinggi said:

“Bak kata perpatah Melayu ‘cacing dah naik ke mata’, begitulah akibat kalau tidak dibendung dari awal. And we had a government which failed to identify the possible threat early, we the rakyat are facing the outcome and consequences.
.I don’t blame DAP or the Chinese extremist – they are just opportunist who [are] taking advantage of a weaker government for their goal.
.
People won’t just unite by slogan or propaganda. A serious step should be taken, though how unpopular it will be.
.
I am sure we don’t want to see another Chinese ambassador in Petaling Street or could be Indian ambassador in Little India to tell us how to run our country.
.
Why blame DAP then? It’s not DAP who accompany the ambassador to China Town.”

I’d like to respond to tebing tinggi’s comment above.

t.tinggi: “Cacing dah naik ke mata”

Helen: So agree with tebing tinggi. Lintah pun dah turun ke telinga. If Umno does not do something about the evangelista/kaduk naik junjung, then Umno’s goose is truly cooked.

Helen: And even when this government is being repeatedly told and constantly reminded of the threat, ia buat tak tahu jer. hannahTwitter

Very early on – as far back as mid-August 2011 – I’d already alerted that @hannahyeoh had 29,440 Twitter followers (see screenshot right).

I kept tabs on the growth of Madame Speaker’s Twitter following via my Twitmeter readings.

BELOW: Meter reading on the number of Hannah twits were taken on the following dates over a span of two years:

  • 20 July 2014
  • 26 Nov 2013
  • 4 June 2013
  • 27 March 2013
  • 14 Oct 2012
  • 30 June 2012

Today Aunty Hannah’s monster following has ballooned to 118,000 twits and there’s no stopping the evangelista juggernaut.

And the number Jerusubang cultists can only increase exponentially.

In comparison, a number of the BN personalities who are most popular on Twitter have only half Hannah Yeoh’s 118,000 followers, i.e. @mpkotabelud with 66,800 and the real @tankengliang with 65,900.

Meanwhile the rest are trailing far behind, e.g. @chuaty (8,876), @chewmeifun (pix above) and @chongsinwoon (2,900) … oh dear.

t.tinggi: “I don’t blame DAP or the Chinese extremist – they are just opportunist who [are] taking advantage …”

Helen: Umno-BN is utterly unresponsive to early warnings and becomes reactionary only after the milk is spilled or the rice turns into porridge.

I don’t see how the evangelistas can be pushed back now anymore. It is really Umno’s fault that Malays feel “ditolak ke dinding“.

I blame Umno dan sikap lepas tangan PPTA itu!

t.tinggi: “People won’t just unite by slogan or propaganda.”

Helen: Very true. Nor through Global Movement of Moderates or NUCC or the other brainchildren (plural of brainchild) mooted by the PM’s multi-million dollar consultants.

Najib Razak should dissolve these useless entities.

Plus do something about The Gunting.

Helen: Stop the evangelistas now. They’re divisive and sowing hatred. And they dare claim to have the moral high ground – see below.

Rahman Dahlan Bersih garbage

t.tinggi: “I am sure we don’t want to see another Chinese ambassador in Petaling Street …”

Helen: Perhaps the ambassador from China felt a proprietary when he heard the Red Shirts intended to march into ‘China’-town.

If the Jamal Sekinchan rally goers had decided to protest in front of the DAP headquarters in Pudu or the Komtar building in Penang, the Chinese embassy may not have stirred. After all, the DAP is multiracial with “zero Chinese”.

And China’s envoy should not be interfering in local politics if Umno supporters want to demo in front of the administrative building housing a DAP-led government cabal.

I wonder what bedtime stories MCA has been feeding Umno all this while.

Perhaps Umno need to hire more translators so that they can find out for themselves what MCA and DAP pakat-pakat about behind the BN’s back.

  1. Hannah Yeoh’s 118,000 followers saja? Alamak in Malaysia katakalooo 0.14% of total population sja yang follow dia? Karut la.. Kepoh kalut saja lebih AsoAci ni! Empty drum betoi.

    Zaman sekarang generasi macam anak2 I, their cousins and friends don’t fancy following toxic personalities. They only go for this kind of personality;

Minta jangan perasan sangat Hannah Yeoh boleh tak? Kasi malu sama Taylor Swift saja la.

  2. Helen,

And that is the price the Malays and Malaysians too have to pay as UMNO simply refuses to act when it has power at its disposal.

UMNO seems loves to babysit MCA. I envy the Chinese. They hate UMNO to its core yet they are rewarded with Ministerial posts.

  3. “If Red Shirts had demo at Komtar instead of Chinatown”

Then they are very dumb. Komtar is a dead mall. So is Lower Penang Road. The only life source for the area are the Government departments. The Chinese do not shop there – only the Malays (the poorer ones) and the foreign workers such as the Banglas and Myammars. The Red Shirts would only hurt small Malay traders if they picketed at KOMTAR.

The Chinese generally go to the Gurney-Kelawai area.

  4. My Malay Datuk friend shared this Malay ancestry.
    https://amnaj.wordpress.com/2012/01/25/ancestral-lineages-of-the-malays/

“Malays find and owe their ancestral lineages to Formosan (Taiwanese Aborigines), as well as Polynesian, Micronesian and Turkic. That Melayunesia, Melanesia, Polynesia and Micronesia together form Austronesia that covers about half of the entire global area, sea included.

A typical Malay Race carries Formosan lineage (Y-DNA Haplogroup O) of between 66.7% (Malaysian Malay) to 88.6% (Indonesian Javanese), Polynesian lineage (Y-DNA Haplogroup C) of between 1.9% (Indonesian Javanese) to 11.1% (Malaysian Malay), Micronesian lineage (Y-DNA Haplogroup K) of between 1.9% (Indonesian Javanese) to 11.1% (Malaysian Malay), and Turkic lineage of between 2.6% (Filipino) to 5.6% (Malaysian Malay).”

The original inhabitants of Taiwan are Malay e.g. A-Mei’s tribe. Taiwan is actually Kepulauan Melayu – different from the mainland.
