The population of Terengganu is 95.4 percent Muslim. Terengganu is the most Islamic of all our Malaysian states.
Terengganu Darul Iman is the quietest and most serene too.
Incidentally, Chinese in Terengganu only make up 2.46 percent of the state population. In contrast, the DAP-ruled Penang has a 40.5 percent Chinese population.
As a result of there being so few Chinese in Terengganu, there are equally few churches in Terengganu. However in Penang where the Chinese are the majority, the Church has risen to tower over everything else.

Tun’s speech was to forewarn Umno delegates about potential threats confronting our country.
Tracing modern history, Tun recalled:
“Untuk mengeluarkan orang Yahudi dari Eropah, mereka [kuasa Barat] merampas wilayah Palestin untuk dijadikan negara Israel. Bukan sahaja tanah, rumah dan ladang orang Arab Palestin yang dirampas tetapi orang Arab dihalau keluar dari wilayah mereka yang dijadikan Israel.”

Apa hubungan DAP dengan Israel?
Nope, the Malays are not being “so paranoid” (see above) for being afraid of the cross. Their suspicion has a reasonable basis given how devious the evangelistas are.
And it is not that the Malays and their “faith is so weak” either. It is that the DAP evangelistas, like their Christian Zionist counterparts, are so aggressive.
Because the DAP behave just like Zionists, the allegations presently swirling that the party has links with Israel and have been trained by Mossad come across as quite believable.

1. I agree with Tun as I raised the same points on Rayani Air when it was launched. The shariah compliance is used as a marketing gimmick. That’s really uncomfortable for me on several levels.
2. The article on crosses and pigs by MKini is just them stirring shit as usual. It’s just the poster that was changed; the movie is still being shown and not banned. So what’s the problem? Would more people go watch the movie if the pig is shown on the poster?
We live in a “multi-national” country with the majority Malay. Does it make them a lesser person to show some tolerance to the quirks of the majority?

Islam1st, are you comfortable with them using the religion as a selling tool? Selling halal food or hijab is one thing but making it a point to use the term syariah compliant in an industry that rationally doesn’t require such branding feels like using Islam for profit.
It just doesn’t sit right with me. I can understand syariah compliance in banking but this feels as right as hearing celebrities say Alhamdulillah when they win awards or accolades portraying a sluttish villain.

But seriously we can’t really stop market forces, can we? Demand and supply. Its used to be ‘pink dollar’ and now its shariah this and that.

I have followed her blog for more than a year, and have never detected the slightest hint of an ego. A lot of the SoPo bloggers are cocky and/or obviously biased; she is neither. Yes, in a way she is somewhat emotional (I think she speaks more of insomnia than being sickly, though) but maybe people either find that honest or get turned off by it. She mixes politics with her personal thoughts, it’s OK to me. It might not be to others
If you think she is egotistical and big headed, is it because of:
a) Something she communicated to you offline that the public do not know about?
b) Something she wrote in her blog posts generally;
c) Something she wrote in the course of the recent ‘spat’ with you?
If it’s a) then fine, I guess that’s not other people’s business.
If it’s b) or c), then I honestly do not see it. At all.
She is one of the most humble, down to earth and balanced bloggers out there. She is neither very pro-Najib nor very pro-Tun (in fact in her past posts she’s been quite critical of him from time to time.)
As for c), if you are completely objective and re-read the whole sequence, is it possible that you have overreacted by assuming she had bad intentions that clearly were not present? She actually deleted some comments (no, they were not mine) so how does asking people not to insult you equate to “showboating”? Surely it doesn’t.

I am the same objective person. And I’ve been looking at our political situation objectively. I’m not someone who’s afraid of making unpopular choices or taking the difficult (i.e. swimming against current) path.
By 2017, you will too will be see the battle lines shaping up clearly. It is is Umno led by Najib vs DAP led by the evangelistas. PAS will side with Umno if Najib remains at the BN helm.
Annie exaggerates and distorts in claiming that the Projibs want to kill innocent civilians who are anti-Najib.
The bottomline is that subversives in leadership positions who are undermining the BN chairman must be dealt with. I agree with the action taken against Muhyiddin. If this is not done, Umno will suffer the fate of MCA, i.e. being snipped x3 from the inside.
Secondly, I urge you to look past Annie’s declarations of this and that (itu sekadar cakap).
Look at the concrete outcome (apa dia bikin). If it is true that Annie has suddenly withdrawn from political blogging – we wait to see whether it actually happens – then there must be a reason … I have a fair idea why. You don’t.

Many of them are intermarried with the Syed, Sharif and Sheikhs – descendants of the blessed Prophet s.a.w. and his close companions. The Ba ‘Alawi Sunnis of Hadhramaut have a centuries long tradition of Sufi missionary work and commercial ties in the Malay Archipelago. Up to this day students from all over the world travel to Tarim, Hadhramaut to learn the deen of Islam with the Sufi scholars.
Also, many of our beloved Malay sultans are themselves of the prophetic lineage or intermarried with them through the ages.
There have been people from the Indian subcontinent in our country since 110AD. So I’m not sure anyone can blame Tun for having Indian blood. Does it make any difference?

Reminds me of an incident in the life of Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. as he was preaching his message of peace and brotherhood, the hypocrites and fake muslims were planning his downfall :
“All praises and thanks be to Allah Most Sublime for having placed Islam in our hearts,” proclaimed Nudhair ibn Harith to the people around him. Someone enquired, “How did you enter into the faith sheikh?” Nudhair narrated his story :
“I used to be among those who hated Muhammad and the Muslims. To my great dismay they eventually conquered Mecca. So I went along with the other folks and declared myself a Muslim – of course no one could convince me of Muhammad’s prophethood! Several days later, news spread that the tribes of Tagif and Khawazin and the nomads near Taif were planning a war campaign to seize Mecca from Muhammad. It was the Prophet’s principle that enemy forces should not be engaged around Meccan territory. He therefore planned a defensive expedition to confront the rebels at Hunain (approx. 300km away). In the muslim army were many newcomers into Islam including myself.
The march to Hunain turned out to be rather unadventurous, but we were in for a rude shock during the final phase of movement! In order to reach the Hunain valley the troops had to negotiate a narrow pass hemmed in by high ridges. The geography proved disastrous because once the major section of our rank and file had proceeded into the narrow trek, wave after wave of arrows rained down on us. The Muslims were in chaos! As for me, my initial shock quickly settled into relief as my heart plotted: ‘If these circumstances continue, I will defect to their side and cripple Muhammad’s forces.’
Allah’s Will was otherwise. Astonishingly, Muhammad consolidated the nucleus of his forces – the Muhajirin and Ansari warriors – within a short time. They rallied, counter-attacked and broke the thrust of the enemy. Muhammad emerged victorious and the spoils of war included thousands of camels and sheep among other things.
A day after the battle when most of the troops had dispersed from the Hunain valley, I was strolling in one of its many alleys when I was delighted by the sight of camels and sheep grazing willy-nilly. Then out of nowhere Muhammad appeared walking towards me. His face never lacked colour and he was smiling as he observed me. He summoned me: “Nudhair!” I answered, ”I am here, oh Messenger of Allah!”
Then he revealed to my utter shame : “Isn’t what you’re witnessing much better than what you intended for me a day ago – defeat for the Muslims?”
I realized instantly that Allah had disclosed my secret motives. I was in a swoon when he addressed me a second time: ”It is time you know where your place ought to be.” I answered weakly, “I know that and I have made my choice.”
On hearing my response he gracefully prayed: “Oh Allah, Thou art possessed of all perfections. Grant him greater steadfastness in his faith.”
We bade farewell and I returned to my camp. Not long after that, a man of Bani Duail announced to me, “The Prophet has presented you a gift of one hundred camels!” And he made a request : “Grant me a share of your camels – I am in debt.” I was stunned by the Prophet’s behaviour and my conscience said: “I am not going to accept anything to preserve me in Islam. Allah, my submission to You is not equal to a reimbursement . . . but, this is a gift from the Prophet himself! is it proper to reject? Yet I did not ask for it! My mind vacillated back and forth. Eventually I did accept the Prophet’s camels and to my friend of Bani Duail I gave ten of them. From that time on, I have never been less impressed by the Prophet’s compassion.”
Sorry, a correction: the Hunain valley is about 10km away from Mecca on the road to Taif – not 300km.
It is narrated on the authority of Usama b. Zaid r.a. that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) sent us on a raiding party. We raided Huraqat of Juhaina in the morning. I caught hold of a man and he uttered: “There is no god but Allah!” But I attacked him with a spear (and killed him). It occurred to me to report it to the Apostle (pbuh). The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) queried me: “Did he profess “There is no god but Allah,” and even then you killed him?!”
I replied: “Ya Rasulullah, he professed out of fear of the weapon!” He (the Holy Prophet) asked: “Did you tear his heart out to see if it had professed or not?” And he went on repeating those words till I wished I had never embraced Islam before that day.

Sa’ad r.a. said: “By Allah, I would never kill any Muslim so long as a person with a heavy belly, (i.e., Usama), would not kill him. Upon this some person remarked: “Did Allah not say this: And fight them until there is no more mischief and religion is wholly for Allah?
Sa’d said: “We fought so that there should be no mischief, but you and your companions want to fight so that there would be mischief!”

Abdullah, Usama bin Zaid was no ordinary companion of the Prophet s.a.w. – he was like his grandson because Zaid bin Haritha, Usama’s father was the beloved and sole manservant of the Prophet s.a.w.

The Muslims had faced a stalemate with the Byzantines at the Battle of Mu’tah in which they lost their leader Zaid bin Haritha. A follow-up defensive expedition had been initiated by the Prophet s.a.w before his passing to safeguard the northern approaches to Madinah. Abu Bakr (r) reaffirmed the decision of the Prophet just before he passed away, to appoint General Usama bin Zaid who was only 17 years of age at the time to lead the defensive force of veteran companions. The expedition turned out to be a success, thus affirming the strength and cohesiveness of the Muslims in the absence of the Prophet s.a.w.
Yes, the historian al-Tabari recorded that as Khalifa Abu Bakr As-Siddiq walked alongside Usama bin Zaid on his horse leading the troops out of the city …
“Then he (Abu Bakr) said, “Oh army, halt! for I shall command you ten things; learn them from me by heart.
(1) You shall not engage in treachery;
(2) you shall not act unfaithfully;
(3) you shall not engage in deception;
(4) you shall not indulge in mutilation;
(5) you shall neither kill a young child nor an old man or woman; (6) you shall not fell palm trees or burnt them,
(7) you shall not cut down fruit-bearing trees;
(8) you shall not slaughter a sheep, cow or a camel except for food.
(9) You will pass by people who occupy themselves in the cells of monks – leave them alone, and leave alone what they busy themselves with.
(10) You will come to a people who will bring you vessels in which are varieties of food; if you eat any of it, mention the name of Allah over them. ,,,”

“(Archangel) Gabriel came to me, took me by the hand, and showed me the gate through which my community shall enter into Paradise.” Abu Bakr r.a. replied: “Would that I were there with you to see it!” The Prophet answered: “Do you not know? You shall be the first of my people to enter Paradise.”
