Tun claims that more than one million Malaysians signed his declaration aimed at removing Najib Razak from office.
His old crony Ling Liong Sik was welcomed to endorse Deklarasi Mahathir (pix below). Nonetheless, Tun Dr Ling cannot join Dr Mahathir’s new party which is open only to bumiputera and Ling, alas, is no prince of the soil.
Neither are other prime movers of the Deklarasi, Ambiga and Maria Chin Abdullah, eligible to apply for membership in Tun’s new party. Maria can be accepted without restriction into PAS though.
So what is new in the opposition’s Politik Baru?
The noisy young fella Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman is reported to be a protem committee member of Tun’s party that is soon to be officially launched (pending RoS approval).
But Adrian Lim Chee En, another noisy young fella who is Syed Saddiq’s contemporary, does not qualify to apply. Adrian may be bangsa Anak Malaysia but still, Tun’s party has no place for him.
No winds of change but perhaps a perfect storm coming up
DAP has been peddling its New Politics to the suckers but the opposition front that is shaping up is the same old, same old.
The new New Hope coalition is clearly not able to get away from Race and Religion markers. Tun’s party is race based and to all intents and purposes for Malays only and those who pass muster as Malay.
Meanwhile, the splinter party PAN is religion-based — identical to its mothership PAS, and limited to Muslims.
Tell me again how Pakatan Harapan is any better than the BN.

DAP rhetoric is all about “colour blind” and “beyond race”. Yet the evangelical party is leading an opposition comprising race and religion-based parties that is no different from the BN formula.
If its any consolation to the 95 percent Chinese who are staunch backers of ABU, the evolved opposition line-up – which will include Tun’s party – promises a revival of Mahathirism but with one caveat.
Dr Mahathir is today no longer in his prime. The master Machiavelli – at his advanced age of 90-plus – remains sharp but not so sharp as to be immune from manipulation.
Are the manipulative evangelistas capable of steering Tun in the direction that they want? Yup.
Protun parrots trained by RBA to repeat DAP propaganda
In the current set-up where Tun and Protuns bersekongkol (there is no equivalent word in English with the same oomph) dengan DAP and Dapsters, it is the evangelical Chinese who have the upper hand.
This is seen in how the RBA have successfully brainwashed the Protuns and trained their Malay macai to be parrots.
Make a note of this. Observe carefully what the Protuns are griping about. Then see if these Malays are beginning to sound like echoes of their Cina DAP counterparts.
In BN, Umno is the undisputed Big Brother. In Pakatan, the Protuns are being turned into Dapsters.
Between the two coalitions, supporting the opposition is more beneficial for the Chinese. This is especially so for those getting a cheap thrill from hearing their kiasu words coming out of the mouth of Melayu DAP and Protuns who will soon be indistinguishable from Dapsters.
If you can’t beat ’em, get them to join you instead.

First, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad made the fundamental error of retiring abruptly without the proper preparation of a replacement Prime Minister in an immature political milieu. He should have stayed on. Second, having done that, Tun could not establish rapport with those who assumed the Prime Minister’s job after him. These personalities whom he knew very closely for years, were now found wanting in his eyes. There are many ways to cut the cake. Third, having failed in his attempts to remove the incumbent Prime Minister, he and others will form a political party exactly like the UMNO which he was President for 22 years at a time when urbanisation has drawn the Rakyat closer to each other through the social media. In my opinion, blogger-blogger otai Umno (not referring to you) should visit Annie’s blog to study the extent of the Dapster pathology.
While Annie may be able to fool the casual reader, the Umno veteran bloggers are mostly battle-hardened and have had even more exposure to oppo dirty agitprop than me (and I’ve long seen how they operate in the Maaysiakini readers’ forum).
The Umno media team will be able to spot how the RBAs have further refined the dirty tricks of the trade since the 2000s.
Moreover, many of them know Annie’s real identity and he can’t dupe them as he does Setem, et al.

Ms H. The trouble with political dynasties like the DAP/PAP is that the heir tries to outdo the founder and fails. The next 14th GE is the most initeresting of all our elections. We have run short of leaders especially in the Opposition which will have the same old fare on offer considering the fact that Malaysia is one of the few countries in the World which have so many layers of governments in a cyberworld – a case of over-governance. There is an obvious mis-match in the political will of Opposition parties. With so much difficulty to sleep in the same bed, we do not expect them to have the same dreams !
Remember, I said ‘ In 1997 if the DPM had taken a holiday in the US, he would have returned as the PM ‘. Then I said. ‘ if the Opposition had sorted out the 32 Aduns before the 12th GE, the Opposition would have been in Putrajaya since 2008.’ Finally, I said that if the Opposition had boycotted the 13th GE and followed by a 100 day fast to death by checking into the lst Class Ward of the KLGH, they would have been in Putrajaya since May 2013.
