Rocky, Big Dog and myth of ‘neutrality’

In his Che Det posting titled ‘Propaganda’ on Wednesday (Sept 28), Tun Dr Mahathir likened the Najib administration to a Nazi regime and a quartet of the Umno president’s men to Little Goebbels.

Tun then proceeded to take a shot at Malaysian mainstream media which he likened to Nazi Minister Joseph Goebbels’s propaganda machinery.

Tun wrote that “New Straits Times, Utusan dan TV3 sudah tidak dibaca atau dilihat oleh penonton. Mereka benci dengan pembohongan laporan yang disiar”.

Indeed some senior newsmen who are uncomfortable with recent political developments relating to Najib Razak have quit their jobs, such as Mustapha Kamil from NST and Ku Seman Ku Hussain from Utusan.

Likewise, CEO Endie Shazalie Akbar too recently parted ways with The Mole.

It is difficult to imagine a harsh critic of Umno and of Najib’s men deciding to still remain in The Mole unless the said Protun reporter is working as the proverbial ‘mole’, i.e. spy planted within the establishment.

As it is, this particular whacky employee is already looked at askance by his colleagues and subordinates as well as regarded with some suspicion by his bosses.

BELOW: Mr Two Face and his pretense of being impartial in the Mahathir vs Najib fight

Can a blogger serve two (or three) masters at one go?

In his grumblings against government propaganda, Tun also gave special mention to two alpha bloggers. He wrote:

“Demikian juga dengan peralihan kesetiaan blogger Big Dog dan Rockybru. Mereka boleh nafi mereka telah dibeli, tetapi masyarakat semua faham sebab peralihan haluan oleh mereka. Apapun yang ditulis oleh mereka dimasukkan dalam bakul sampah.”

In his posting ‘Mahathir Kampf‘ yesterday, blogger Seademon explained that for Big Dog, the straw that broke the ‘sympathy-for-Mahathir’ camel’s back was when Mahathir joined the Bersih protest last year”.

Then came blow after blow that sent Big Dog (in blue, above) staggering:

  • Tun bersekongkol dengan Kit Siang dan DAP
  • Tun bersekongkol dengan media asing
  • Tun asking voters to make the Umno candidates lose their deposit in the twin by-elections
  • Tun asking for foreign interference in Malaysian affairs
  • Tun launching a public signature campaign to topple the Umno-led government
  • Tun forming a new party to crush Umno
  • Tun kiss and make up with Anwar …

It is all these factors and more that made Big Dog and Rockybru switch their allegiance. Not dedak as alleged by Tun.

With Rockybru and Big Dog, it is at least clear that they are not in Tun’s camp unlike a certain blogger who has his feet planted on two stools while cavorting with Cina ultras and makan kenyang from a third lubuk.

Rocky and Big Dog have responded in Twitter to Tun’s jibe.

Big Dog says that Tun holds to the Bush doctrine of “You are with me or against me” and even quips, “Death awaits disloyalty”.

Now imagine another blogger (talking about somebody else here that tumpang Rocky’s popularity) who is with Tun, and who is against Najib but pretending to refrain from taking sides in the Najib-Mahathir quarrel. What a joke!

Political blogging is partisan and only a very kind-hearted captain (mudah kesian) will believe in such a charade of neutrality. Of course the whacker can use the cover line that he is only rambling, cakap suka-suka, blogging merely for fun, never been paid, etc, etc.

Rocky made a grand total of seven postings in his blog for the entire month of August. This is hardly reflective of a media man out to get Tun.

In contrast, Annie blogged three postings in a single day when the DoJ story broke. Now isn’t that clearly reflective of a media man out to get Najib?

Marina armpits DoJ suits Annie

Agent Annie — champion whacker who hosts most toxic ANC platform

A regular commenter Hj M Zin made the observation (in Malaysia Today on Sep 28, 2016 1:21pm) that Life of Annie is “now overwhelming favourite and dominated by vulgar-mouth ANCs”.

‘ANC’ refers to the Anti-Najib Campaign, and Tuan Haji Mohd Zin of Alor Gajah is saying that Life of Annie is the favourite watering hole for Najib whackers who steer the discourse with their non-stop whacking of Najib, Umno and the government.

Tuan Haji also suspects that “good $s [has been paid] to nauzubi ‘Llah slander the PM and Datin Seri” by RBAs camping 24/7 in Annie’s blog.

Nice job. Annie’s paymaster must be well pleased.

Together with Cina ultras taking potshots at PMO

The nautical term ‘loose cannon‘ comes to mind.

In the good ol’ days of naval warfare, 24-pounder guns (cannons) mounted on four wheels were the chief weapon.

These cannons were secured by lashings on the ship deck. In a sea fight, the carriage would be unfastened and the cannon rolled to the battle station. The cannon muzzles were then pushed through the gun port to fire at the enemy — see video above.

Now imagine a runaway cannon rolling wildly on deck in the high seas and misfiring scatter shots in all directions.

Loose cannon — that would be the fire-at-will Annie whacking here, there and everywhere at Najib’s men.

I have no Faceook or Twitter.

  2. I have been following the pro-UMNO bloggers since 2008. Many of those household name were ardent supporter of Mahathir. Some even call him ayahanda. I have a long list of them in blog roll. But from my list, out of the many, I can count with 1 hand those who are still supporting Mahathir.

It is really foolish to believe that everyone will get paid to lend their support, unless of course if they lend support to you (Mahathir). This is also the mentality of Pakatun which is very much infected the mind of everyone who learned to be anti-establishment.

No everyone is stupid not to see his stupidity. There are many people who are prepare to call spade a spade. I was also one of Mahathir ardent supporter. I have once having a debate with one DAP supporter about Mahathir and the debate started at 9pm and lasted at 7am. This is how much I would go to defend him in the past. But today, I down right hate this old man for his behavior and his hypocrisy and I do not even receive 1 sen of the so call dedak.

If hating Mahathir can earn me dedak, then please tell me, where can I collect my dedak because what is more better do what you love and get paid for it.

          [Quran, Al-Ma’idah 5:8]

*** Crown your intelligence with fair judgement ***

Fishing in muddy waters was easy for Ibn Saluul. He always took maximum advantage of the difficulties which descended upon the Muslim community. A quarrel had broken out between the Muhajirin (emigrants to Madinah) and their hosts, the Ansars (Madinan residents), on the return of the Messenger (pbuh) and his companions from the battle against the Bani Mushtaliq.

The misunderstanding had arisen between two hired hands who were supposed to water their employer’s riding animals. Each man argued for their boss’ favour in the ensuing war of words, and it got vehement when Ibn Saluul fanned the fires among the Ansars, who were the original inhabitants of Madinah and the weaker souls among them gravitated towards his antagonistic stance. In front of his supporters Ibn Saluul started to harangue the Muslims and the Muslims who did not possess enough faith to stay away from him :

“I’ve said all along that we, the traditional inhabitants of Madinah, have brought this indignity upon ourselves. We have shared with the Muhajirin, Muhammad and his accomplices, everything we own. We spoil them until they will now not share their water with us. Are we going to nurture to the very end those who enslave us, come what may?! We are human beings rearing lion cubs the likes of Muhammad and his people. And when these animals reach maturity, we their masters will be their first victims! Cease assisting these wanderers right now, and they will abandon Muhammad on their own. Therefore, my comrades, as soon as we enter Madinah we shall act! The time is nigh for men of honour to cleanse the garbage of society from their premises!”

He wanted the fires of tribulation to destroy the solidarity of friendship and the fraternity of faith which the Messenger had painstakingly instilled between the Madinans and the emigrants from Mecca. Ibn Saluul’s barrage appalled the teenager Zaid Ibn Arqam and he so reacted against its deception that together with his uncle Sa’ad ibn Ubaadah, they reported it to the blessed Messenger (saw). Hence the hypocrite Ibn Saluul was summoned to the assembly, and he argued and swore : “By Allah, Zaid lies! I said no such thing!” And his comrades supported him insisting that Zaid had miscarried his report of the incident. They snarled at the daring and impudence of the boy.

The Messenger (saw) declined to comment but turned to face the elderly Sa’ad ibn Ubadah as if to ask, ”What do you say?” Sa’ad started to beg pardon for his nephew, ”Forgive him Messenger of Allah. He is still a child.” And he chided Zaid, “Is this what you wanted? Now you are known as a deceiver by the Messenger and the community.” Zaid’s heart was thrown into confusion, his head filled with anguish thinking that the Messenger fully believed in Ibn Saluul’s oath. Unable to hold back his tears, he cried out to the Prophet (saw), “By Him who gave you the light of Truth, I have never lied to you!” and his heart lamented, “Oh Allah, be kind enough to send Your help quickly… ”

The Messenger (saw) believed Zaid’s account: “This child did not lie. In the past Ibn Saluul has been hypocritical in speech and behaviour. On this occasion his hypocrisy has turned extraordinary!” But personal feelings are not a basis to judge on such matters, so the Messenger (saw) justly pronounced :

“The accuser must forward proof. And the oath of the accused is substantial enough to refute an unproven charge.“

Zaid could not prove his charge against Ibn Saluul who had sworn to innocence and he had supporting witnesses. The Messenger (saw) realized that he had to divert Ibn Saluul’s ugly calumny and his wicked plot, with wisdom. He ordered the Muslim forces to return to Madinah immediately. They were not to stop over at the watering places along the route even in the height of day under an intense sun. The troop’s fatigue from the long night journey had worsened their weariness. Nobody could anticipate the danger looming from Ibn Saluul’s wicked plot.

“Messenger of Allah, isn’t it unusual for you to mobilize the forces at such hours?” questioned Asyad Ibn Khudhair the young Ansari leader.
“It is due to the behaviour of your leader,” came the reply.
“Who do you mean?”Asyad queried, oblivious of recent events.
“Ibn Saluul.” The Messenger (saw) informed him of what had been reported about Ibn Saluul. Asyad declared, “You speak of an envier whose envy has eaten into his heart. He was about to be sworn in as chief of Madinah, a short time before you arrived with Islam. You, oh Prophet are forever noble and honoured! Ibn Saluul is already disgraced. If you wish, we could expel him at any moment!” Umar ibn al-Khattab was present and he said, ”He’s a hypocritical foe in disguise! Command us and we shall send him to his death!”

But that was not the way of the Prophet – may the blessings and peace of Allah be upon him. He said to them : “Nay! what would we have the people say of their prophet? . . . Muhammad kills his companions?”

[Abdul Salaam Haarun: Tahziib Seerah ibn Hisyaam]

Abdullah ibn Amr (r.a.) reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

          الْمُقْسِطِينَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ عَلَى مَنَابِرَ مِنْ نُورٍ عَنْ يَمِينِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَكِلْتَا يَدَيْهِ يَمِينٌ الَّذِينَ يَعْدِلُونَ فِي حُكْمِهِمْ وَأَهْلِيهِمْ وَمَا وَلُوا

“Verily, those who were just and fair will be in the presence of Allah upon pulpits of light, near the right hand of the Merciful, Lord Almighty Most Exalted, and both of His sides are right (being equal in honor): those who practiced justice in their rulings and were fair with their families and in all their actions.”

          [Sahih Muslim 4493]

  3. ….According to Erik Erikson’s “Stages of Psychosocial Development”, he characterises old age as a period of “Integrity vs. Despair”, during which a person focuses on reflecting back on his life.

Those who are unsuccessful during this phase will feel that their life has been wasted and will experience many regrets. The individual will be left with feelings of bitterness and despair. Those who feel proud of their accomplishments will feel a sense of integrity. Successfully completing this phase means looking back with few regrets and a general feeling of satisfaction….

  4. Ms H. As both of us are fair and level-headed observers of Malaysian Politics, I like to draw the conclusions of all to the fact that we Malaysians tend to forget our history of whatever very easily. Here is a cogent example.
    1. 2003 October. Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad suddenly announced his retirement after 22 years as Prime Minister in October 2002. I was shocked because Malaysian politics were complicated and have always been dependent on a strong leadership in a country full of human and natural resources. But sorry to say Lee Kuan Yew fleshed out his creation, soon after, the TPPA with glee at this golden opportunity when Singapore was already in deep trouble. But Man proposes. God disposes !
    2. 2003 – 2016. Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad could not come to a political rapport with those whom he was closely associated with for more than 22 years !
    3. 2016. Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad officially formed an Opposition political party in line with Opposition political precepts.
There is a slip be twixt cup and lips ? Or two wrongs do not make a right ? Or bad advisers ?

  5. TĎM should enjoy his retirement. Let Najib run the country. He is impeccable. Take it as it come.Selamat bersara.
