The American embassy opened its doors on Monday in Jerusalem and to deliver a historic prayer at the event was Pastor Robert Jeffress. He is a member of President Trump’s evangelical advisory council.
The embassy move to Jerusalem is Donald Trump fulfilling a promise made to his conservative Christian base. According to exit polls, close to 80 percent of white evangelicals voted for Trump in 2016.
Vice President Mike Pence has even closer ties with evangelical Christian organizations that fervently support the Zionist project.
In his 2015 book The Rise of Radical Islam, Pastor Robert – who blessed the Jerusalem embassy – had famously written:
“The land of Israel, regardless of what any peace negotiations accomplish, belongs to the Jews. It is theirs by the decree of Almighty God. America better make sure we are on the right side of God, because God said He will bless those who bless Israel, and He will curse those who curse Israel.”
Pastor Robert is also an apocalyptic preacher who said in his devotion that the “rise in radical Islam is a sign for us to be alert and to be prepared for our Lord’s return”.
Note: The Bible verses quoted by Pastor Robert are from the book of Genesis 12:1-3, in which God promises to bless those who bless Israel, and curse those who curse Israel.
“Jerusalem is the shoreline of eternity”
Delivering the closing benediction at the embassy launch ceremony was Christians United for Israel (Cufi) founder Pastor John Hagee.
Rev. Hagee is considered the top pro-Israel evangelical leader and Cufi a massive pro-Israel lobby in Washington D.C as well as having a presence in over 300 American college campuses.

Asserting that Jerusalem has been the capital of Israel for the past 3,000 years, Rev. Hagee also said in a pre-launch newspaper interview that “Jerusalem is the city of God. That’s in the Bible word for word”.
“Jerusalem is the place that, as Christians, Jesus Christ was crucified outside this city. And this is where the epicenter of the millennial kingdom is going to be … ,” Rev. Hagee told The Times of Israel.
Hence given the city of God’s significance in Christianity, it is mighty strange that an evangelista such as Wong Chun Wai (the J-Star CEO) – who has himself made a holy pilgrimage to Jerusalem – should choose to deny that the Palestinian-Israel conflict is really due to religious reasons. He claims it is a human rights and land issue, i.e. two peoples fighting for the priceless real estate.
All devoted Christians rightly support Israel
Some Malaysian evangelistas are clearly downplaying sympathies which, by right and by Bible teachings, any practising Christian would surely have for Israel.
Exactly one year ago (15 May 2017) to today’s date, Hannah Yeoh lodged a police report against Dr Kamarul Zaman Yusoff over her Christianization agenda.
Hannah Yeoh has frequently reported websites to the police too. Then last December, she was purported to have said: “Israel owns Jerusalem” and this went around on WhatsApp.
I was unable find any follow-up coverage on the above story through Google search but I have no doubt that Hannah would have similarly denied the “Israel owns Jerusalem” statement attributed to her, and lodged one of her regular police reports.
Her coy posturing on Israel is quite as ‘strange’ as Wong Chun Wai’s.
Most of them didn’t know that Muslims too are waiting for the return of Prophet Isa the person they called their Lord Jesus
