“Education is a one hundred year plan” … To know the Sin Chew view on how khat will disrupt the Chinese school curriculum, read the paper’s editorial yesterday headlined ‘Once the floodgates are opened…’
But Mahathir will outlive Dong Jiao Zong‘s 100-year programme, for sure.
Hua Zong and Jiao Zong seem blissfully unaware that Mahathir has picked an overload of Christian and Born Again cabinet ministers to fill the DAP Chinese quota.
There’s for instance their evangelist extraordinaire pictured below with Islamist Education Minister Maszlee Malik.
According to information from the Internet – something which Sin Chew and Dong Jiao Zong might want take note of – Christian missionaries had actively proselytized to natives of the Malay archipelago using prayer books printed in Jawi (below) from ever since they began spreading the gospel here ages ago.
Unlike the Cina totok, Christian preachers willingly embrace Jawi because the language medium allows their religious message to easier reach Malay language speakers.
They would love to circulate the Jawi Bible.

Hua Zong and Jiao Zong must be sorely missing MCA’s Wee Ka Siong, Chong Sin Woon, Hou Kok Chung et al already.
So how did the Dong Jiao Zong meeting with deputy education minister Teo Nie Ching (below) go? The Chinese educationists must surely be aware that YB Teo too is a staunch Christian, as is her boss DAP sec-gen Lim Guan Eng.
DAP’s many, many top Christian leaders are certainly more receptive to khat than the party’s egg-throwing grassroots.
BELOW: Is Teo able to write a Bible verse in khat as well?

Khat is ok, it’s not a compulsory to pass anyway. I support khat lessons in schools, moreover it’s only 3 pages.
