Dapsters are addicted to virtue signaling.
The four most commented articles in Malaysiakini this week all have ‘Najib’ in their headlines — see below.
There are between 120–170 reader comments on each article, and most of them vitriolic.
Malaysiakini subscribers have tons of bile to unload on news items relating to Najib. Why? Because they can feel good about themselves when calling an Umno leader “thief”, “robber” and “kleptocrat”.
Putting the shoe on the other foot, I cannot imagine – even if Guan Eng were to be convicted of corruption – that there would be so many Malays spewing so much venom at him.
Neither have BN politicians ever attacked Guan Eng the way the dozens of DAP politicians ganged up to attack Wee Ka Siong when he was MCA’s sole MP in parliament (i.e. before the Tanjung Piai byelection ushered in the party’s second MP Wee Jeck Seng).
I also can’t visualize Malay supporters of a public rally for RUU355 all wearing a green T-shirt emblazoned with the word ‘alim’ (or something like that).
In contrast, Chinese opposition supporters are proud to sport the word ‘Bersih’ on their chest. And to repeatedly call wide swathes of the Malay establishment “corrupt”.
Imagine if RUU355 supporters were to take a leaf from the Bersih supporters’ book and start calling other people “orang berdosa”.
