What to do with cats during catastrophes

In my blog post earlier today, I referenced two Sinar Harian stories from Perak — one, a family of eight cats and two, a family of ten cats plus other pets – coping with the flood.

They have been charged with aggravated animal cruelty and will appear in court next month.

“Investigators released new details about the crime after the teen’s arrest on Wednesday. They say Hollinger threw the dog into the woods and fired at her. The dog then ran back home and sat injured on the front porch. The teens allegedly caught her and brought her back to the tracks and then tied her to the tracks where Callaway allegedly shot her several times.” (Source: WFLA)

Giraffe gives dying zookeeper a goodbye kiss

Mario Eijs, 54, passed away two days ago from brain cancer.

Earlier, to fulfill his dying wish, the Ambulance Wish Foundation had taken Mario to the Rotterdam Zoo giraffe enclosure.

Foundation director Kees Veldboer said the animals recognised the zookeeper and immediately sensed he wasn’t doing well.

Dogs have lost a best friend

The wake for Sabrina Yeap will be held tonight at Nirvana Memorial Centre off Jalan Sungai Besi, KL.

Sabrina, 49, was founder of the animal shelter Furry Friends Farm.

She died of leukemia after suddenly slipping into a coma without regaining consciousness
