When will more Penangites start questioning their state gomen?

I don’t see DAP losing Penang in the coming general election. What I do see, however, is Penangites becoming more and more like North Koreans in their Dear Leader and ‘All Hail the Party’ cult. To them, DAP can do no wrong and will be defended at all costs.

A hill-slope landslide on the island at a construction site in Tanjung Bungah killed 11 workers Saturday. Eleven people perished but the Penang government still can simply dismiss the matter. “Work site accidents happen almost every single day, so imagine if ministers have to resign because of them,” said the DAP Penang chairman, Continue reading “When will more Penangites start questioning their state gomen?”

Muar laundry: J-Star and the concept of separation of powers

The J-Star and its fellow travellers are loudly applauding the Johor sultan for His Royal Highness’ prompt intervention and instruction to the state exco on matters of legislation (or council guidelines) pertaining to religious discrimination, and specifically with regard to the case of a ‘Muslims Only’ laundromat in Muar.

JStar readers heaped praise on the sultan who was reported this morning by the paper’s CEO Wong Chun Wai as saying:

“From now on, I am directing the state executive council and all the councils to insist that any business owners who carry out such blatant discriminatory practices should have their licences revoked. Don’t mess around with your narrow-minded religious prejudices.” Continue reading “Muar laundry: J-Star and the concept of separation of powers”

Sneaky Star’s misleading info box on RUU355

Update 5.50pm:

SPDP (Sarawak MP) is open minded about RUU355. See, http://www.bangkit.info/2016/11/datuk-seri-tiong-king-sing-sokong.html

The J-Star last week carried a table on how Members of Parliament are likely to vote on Hadi Awang’s proposed amendments to the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act.

The private member’s bill submitted by Hadi Awang is popularly referred to by its Malay acronym as RUU355.

The infographic produced by the MCA paper – screenshot below – was crafted to mislead the public. Continue reading “Sneaky Star’s misleading info box on RUU355”

J-Star says DAP “got walloped” in S’wak (hint: Chinese will vote BN in coming by-elections)

J-Star CEO Wong Chun Wai wrote about the Sarawak election in his column today,

“… the Barisan Nasional won by a massive landslide. In a nutshell, the Opposition got walloped. The DAP lost five of their seats, a clear indicator that the urban Chinese votes, their traditional stronghold, had swung back to the Barisan. As for PKR and PAS, they got clobbered.”

What does The J-Star mean by UiTM’s “anti-Christian” seminar?

Update: 20 Dec 2106

What does Wong Chun Wai mean by saying “public institutions of higher learning are allowed to hold seminars questioning the faiths of other Malaysians”? See his column today, ‘Let’s rise above racial rants‘?

Original posting:

The J-Star article initially headlined ‘IGP: No laws broken by police officer speaking at anti-Christian seminar’ – see tweet below – has been amended to say “anti-conversion seminar” in the paper’s online version. Continue reading “What does The J-Star mean by UiTM’s “anti-Christian” seminar?”

Kit Siang: DAP competing with Umno for Malay heart & mind

Lim Kit Siang said yesterday that as part of the DAP’s vision to reach out to everyone with their message of a Malaysian Dream, his party is “competing with Umno for the hearts and minds of Malays”.

Grandpapa Dapster noted that the DAP is busy shedding its Chinese image in order to “reach out to Malays”.

MCA must answer to Cabinet if The J-Star is inciting against the govt

Malaysiakini and The J-Star were raided by the police yesterday for the same story both had carried.

Commenting on the raids, MCA Religious Harmony Bureau chairman Ti Lian Ker (below) said “the authorities were doing the right thing if they were clamping down on wayward or irresponsible reporting that was damaging the country or national interests” Continue reading “MCA must answer to Cabinet if The J-Star is inciting against the govt”

Is the J-Star chairman as dungu as he looks?

I wouldn’t be surprised if he was… given how the editorial content of an MCA-owned company has been allowed to be hijacked to serve the interests of the evangelical Christian opposition.

Mr Chairman of Star Media Group is the guy on the right – MCA’s Fu Ah Kiow. Forrest Gump doesn’t look like he is any match for the super sneaky evangelistas, does he? Continue reading “Is the J-Star chairman as dungu as he looks?”

DAP evangelista MP to @NajibRazak: “Malays ‘bastardised’ Umno in Kelantan, S’gor & Pg”

Only the evangelistas talk like this. The DAP MP for Segambut said “the truth is Malays ‘bastardised’ Umno in Kelantan, Selangor and Penang in last two election”.

Najib Razak’s message was that Malays and Muslims would lose everything should Umno ever lose federal power.

J-Star extols nasi lemak and promotes congkak

The J-Star editorial today put a “focus on spreading love”.

The paper says that if you’re unable to respond and reciprocate the loving kindness that the Jom Kawan do-gooders – see pix below – are proffering to perfect strangers, then you must be “the most selfish and cold-hearted” person indeed. J-Star’s Low Yat conspiracy theory is spinning suspicion of Malay establishment

Cabinet must demand that the MCA president gives an accounting for the venomous behaviour of the Gunting media owned by his party.

In her column today, former J-Star acting group editor June Wong stuck her poison-tipped scissors into the back of the Low Yat anatomy.

Low Yat suspects called “thugs” five times by The J-Star in short 287-word article

For The J-Star, one side of the brawl at Low Yat Plaza were the “sales clerks” (Chinese) while the other side were the “thugs” (Malays).

The EvangeliSTAR story – see below – was filed for the MCA paper by Nicholas Cheng, the same Christian reporter who had previously covered the episode of the church cross removal, see ‘J-Star reporter @ Taman Medan: “Who gives you the right to claim this land as Muslim land?”Continue reading “Low Yat suspects called “thugs” five times by The J-Star in short 287-word article”

7 out of 10 Chinese see themselves as Malaysian First, claims J-Star survey

So we can expect seven out of every 10 Chinese in the country to be able to speak Malaysia’s national language as their native tongue (just like the ethnic Chinese in Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines do their respective country’s native language) and also be willing to send their children to National School.

“Chinese” school should only cater for those three out of every 10 Chinese who view themselves by Race/Ethnicity First. The seven out of 10 Chinese who see themselves as Malaysian First must send their children to National School because vernacular school is only suitable for the Chinese Firsters. Sell J-Star to DAP for one ringgit, MCA urged

Regular commenter zack suggested @ 2015/04/23 at 7:30 am: “You are right Helen. In fact MCA should sell it at nominal fee of RM1 to DAP.” Another reader albi commented @ 2015/04/23 at 11:04 am:

“Just like Hannah Yeoh I really pity MCA and Gerakan. To fight against this DAP propaganda machinery and regain the Chinese support is certainly no easy task.”

J-Star reporter @ Taman Medan: “Who gives you the right to claim this land as Muslim land?”

Reporters are supposed to be neutral and objective. In the Nest of Evangelistas, however, some of them clearly take sides, and are confrontational and provocative instead.

The J-Star reporter Nicholas Cheng came close to being attacked by the group of angry demonstrators at the Taman Medan church in Petaling Jaya. Continue reading “J-Star reporter @ Taman Medan: “Who gives you the right to claim this land as Muslim land?””

J-Star wants extremist “monster” exterminated

The J-Star today continued pushing its Nest of Evangelista campaign against “radicalism, extremism, terrorism and militancy”.

Headlined ‘We’ve to nip it now – and at all costs‘, the EvangeliSTAR editorial said that “extremism” could come whether in the form of “terror groups such as IS or even through the voices of certain groups or individuals”.

Evidently, the J-Star and its evangelista editors believe that certain groups and even certain individuals in our country are “extremists” (or “racists” or “bigots” or haters who spew venom).

No time to lose, Malays must start pressuring up Umno

“I have been called a ‘racist’ and an ‘ultra’ hundreds of times. I never sued anyone.” – Tun Mahathir Mohamad

EvangeliSTAR campaigning in colleges and universities next

The EvangeliSTAR and their Voices are taking their ‘Moderation’ campaign into its next phase.

Moving into the colleges and universities, the evangelistas will no doubt be telling students that the ultra right-wingers are “hate-spewing, divisive, race-obsessed ignoramuses” who are “racist, extremist and bigots” devoid of any “rational and balanced views” – see Wong Chun Wai’s most recent column yesterday.

Does Najib Razak support the J-Star‘s agenda, considering that his NGO headed by Saifuddin Abdullah is working hand-in-glove with the EvangeliSTAR?

Who is the J-Star calling “thugs”?

J-Star CEO Wong Chun Wai is pouring scorn on certain “groups” for their caution against a repeat of May 13. But he doesn’t name these groups.

Earlier Chun Wai was insolent enough to refer to Zainuddin Maidin, our Tokoh Wartawan Negara 2006, as “a blogger” without the courtesy of naming the Tan Sri.

When Chun Wai wrote about “a pro-Barisan blogger who has dedicated herself to bashing The Star on a daily basis”, he omitted to mention her name as well but you all know who he meant, right?
