DAP’s Cheras MP, Tan Kok Wai, recycled the idea of holding local council elections.
DAP’s Beruas MP, Ngeh Koo Ham, mooted the idea of having non-Muslim oversight to safeguard that syariah enforcement does not extend beyond its jurisdiction.
Umno lashed out at the three DAP veterans for their proposals.
Cabinet members Anthony and David quickly stepped in to soothe Umno’s ruffled feathers. The UG’s biggest component currently gives the impression that DAP Baru is now a party of Pak Turut.
Anwar’s federal minister Anthony Loke today said Ngeh “misunderstood” the issue while Anwar’s federal minister David Nga Kor Ming said yesterday Tan’s suggestion was “not priority” — see news reports tweeted below.
As such, DAP had better replace its famed rocket with a chihuahua-sized dog collar pictured in its party logo. As younger politicians like KJ and Saddiq have remarked, the new DAP are “lapdogs”.

Have you noticed that Umno is very reactionary to DAP? Umno has to show itself more quick off the mark than Bersatu, PAS, PKR or Amanah to counter anything coming from DAP.
Why does the Christian DAP want to be the Non-Malay Prime Minister of Malaysia? They never asked the British for umpteenth years ! Why the minority want local elections in an over-governed Country ? Why the same folks wanted to be in syariah committees and councils now but never demanded the same when they first arrived ? umno reaction is as anticipated, dap also, but what about the present time mca, if all they do is sound critical towards dap/ph performance, i dont think this would help them at all wrt chinese support, because that is exactly what they do when bn were govt, so what change? it seem mca still wanna depend on umno pas or bersatu to prolong their political life, and give up chinese vote totally.
It is the Chinese who have totally given up on MCA.
MCA has 2/222 seats in Dewan, and as Umdap likes to remind everybody, MCA’s two MPs represent Malay-majority areas.
Personally, I think Chinese should get the government they voted for — (1) Madani or (2) the Bumiputera gomen-in-waiting which is the backlash to UG.

OMG ! v) If PATER ET FIL WERE ALLEGED TO SELL THEIR PATRON LEE KUAN YEW FOR FILTHY LUCRE, what would you 100% CHINESE EXPECT BUT THE SAME ? Here is a true story.On 26 December 2023, I went with my grand-daughter aged 19 (with SPRM 9 A’s) to pay online my company’s taxes at the LHDN Government Complex, Jalan Duta, Kuala Lumpur. It was 3.45 pm with no member of the Public present. My grand-daughter being conversant in BM spoke to the lady Chinese officer at the only counter still opened. She wanted to find out how to pay on-line. The lady Chinese officer rudely told her that she has a company, she should know how to do it. My grand-daughter retorted that the company was owned by her grand-father. THIS IS HOW A CHINESE BEHAVE IN THE CIVIL SERVICE ! I had a similar experience from a Chinese officer in the TNB not too long ago. Strange, these Chinese ! Whar’s wrong with them ?
