Tahalul bahlul Umno

MCA president Dr Chua Soi Lek has “pointed out that in war, it was either kill or be killed” (see quote in his party website).

Is GE14 a ‘war’?

Now guess who wants to KILL Umno? (Ini bukan soalan main-main. Serius siot ni.)

Who would be popping the champagne bottle to see Umno dead? Do take your time to mull over this question serta selak sedikit supaya boleh jenguk belakang tabir.

BN slip-sliding away

Below is what happens once DAP gets a foothold in government — which it has in Selangor, the richest and most populous state. (Red is Pakatan’s share of the DUN pie.)

Remember what they did with Selangor Times

Once DAP gets some degree of control over state resources, what happens? Think the old Pacman game where the insatiable gobbler tries to eat up everything.

Below is screenshot a page from Selangor Times which has a photo of Hannah Yeoh. The state newspaper is used to demonize BN (“resorting to dirty tactics” is the accusation).

For that matter, the MCA-owned newspaper also does the same — but more subtly … baling batu sorok tangan.

Apa jadi bila dakyah DAP makan

DAP have their tentacles firmly sunk into the English media and they direct the propaganda flow.

What happens when the national narrative is the DAP’s story?

The chart below shows the GE13 Parliamentary seats. There are 14 states in Malaysia. Twelve (12) of our state capitals are in Pakatan hands.

Left to BN are only Johor Bahru, the Umno stronghold state and Kangar, the capital of Perlis, the country’s smallest state.

Half of Malaysia’s state capitals are held by the DAP:

The paper’s columnist Karim Raslan tweets (screenshot below): “NO to Ku Nan! Yes to Husam!”

Ku Nan is Umno’s Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor and Husam is Husam Musa who challenged him in Putrajaya and had a respectable outing — obtaining 4,402 votes for PAS to the 9,943 votes for Umno in the administrative capital.

The BN is not king in Kuala Lumpur nor in Shah Alam, and who’s to say the ruling party cannot let Putrajaya slip from its grasp?

Umno’s suicidal tendency

MCA president Dr Chua Soi Lek has “pointed out that in war, it was either kill or be killed”.

The leaders elected at the upcoming Perhimpunan Agung Umno (PAU) are the generals who are going to be leading the BN into ‘war’ in GE14.

GE14 is for Umno (note: I say Umno specifically) to lose. Kalau Umno kalah, expect to stay in the opposition for a long, long time to come.

The comment in Unspinners about DAP-PAS applies equally to the Umno-MCA relationship.

If the 90 percent Chinese votes going to the opposition is not a betrayal by the MCA, what is?

If 95 percent Chinese votes are going to go to the opposition in the next election, what is the point of keeping MCA on board any longer? MCA will only use its various resources to move the Malay city votes to the opposition.

  1. ‘Umno is fighting the most sneaky shape-shifters.’

Urghh macam baca Illuminati Chronicles plak. But then again looking at Sun Ho music videos, sponsored by Evangelists and Evangelism worldwide, its difficult to think otherwise.

    1. islam1st. These guys and dolls which only look like Chinese have adopted something which is entirely alien to themselves. In China, they call this ‘OPIUM’ from the West.

      1. ‘In China, they call this ‘OPIUM’ from the West.’

Sir, I do remember how the Chinese Media had attacked Zhang Zi Yi for her newly adopted western lifestyles amid Hollywood fame.

In Malaysia everybody had kept mum and rather respectful to our Bond girl Datuk, well at least not until she sokong BN!

        1. Islam1st. All the Malays should stand proud and strong for what the UMNO did for them. Do not be misled by all the nonsense by the Opposition and the brilliant Lee Kuan Yew with his 9 failed Policies for Singapore and HY. There is nothing wrong with the Malays as everything is wrong with the Chinese, the Malaysian Chinese, who by all conventions should behave like Chinamen and women and vote for the incumbent ruling Government like around the World even China !

        2. Islam1st. Please no ‘Sir’ for me. I speak like you and look like you for a lifetime. You will be disappointed when you see me !

      2. “opium” only from the west? then what chinese call those from india and arab? spiritual needs? marxist say something like opium of the people n u only pick only those that suit u, sound exactly like the ‘sir’ opium pusher of the 19 century, no shame to sell drug for the money, n use the drug money to foster slavish fake anglo at their ama cam uni.

only an inconsistent idiot talk about failed policies and vote the incumbent at the same time, the only thing great is this idiot is a blitish nationalist, nothing to do with us chinese malaysian.

  2. cik helen. mungkin umno sengaja biarkan mca mati perlahan-lahan. nanti diorang akan panggil DAP masuk kerajaan ganti MCA. jadi bergaduhlah sesama pkr, pas dan juga DAP.

Bang non pun dah sibuk satu dunia pasal kerajaan perpaduan. PKR adalah parti yang penuh orang UMNO. jiwa dan perasaan mereka masih UMNO. mereka dah gila talak. ah jib gor dah tawarkan TPM untuk bang non. apa perasaan DAP bila bang non jadi TPM.

Lim kit siang aka lim guan eng jadi TPM 2.

Tapi mengapa Pemuda MIC attacked Ku Nan? Then, UMNO attacked MIC. Isu macamni pun UMNO dan MIC nak gaduh, banyak lagi isu besar perlu perhatian. Kalau nak beremosi sahaja siang malam, rakyat pun meluat.. get fed-up! Opportunist such as DAP and PKR will then take advantage to play the cards.

Justeru, “tahalul” is irrelevant because apparently the rules of the game are almost absent in BN. So, confirm not only UMNO but also MCA and MIC are all bahlul!! Pada hemat cikgu, BN rules of the game were present during Tun Mahathir’s leadership ie National interest and pride first (I am looking at professional angle).

Someone will be “PAU” in the coming PAU. However, PR is also corrupted….tak caya cuba tanya Khalid Ibrahim dan si Feekah kenapa PKR sendiri tak suka mereka… (Kes ini Helen kena buat homework, interesting to investigate..Many things will appear in the coming weeks).

People vote for PR (PAS, DAP, PKR) is not because of PR is better than BN. People vote for PR is because UMNO, MCA and MIC is confirmed bahlul and menyondol. Cikgu do not believe that during PAU, UMNO will “tahalul” with MCA because bahlul could not see the light of better life for Malaysia.

    1. quote, “People vote for PR (PAS, DAP, PKR) is not because of PR is better than BN. People vote for PR is because UMNO, MCA and MIC is confirmed bahlul and menyondol.” unquote.

I agree with you, cikgu. My guess is that those people are in a category of fence sitters who are not members of any of PR parties.

There’s another group of fence sitters not affliated to any political parties but did not vote PR in GE13 because of their distrust of Anwar. BN would go the down the abyss in GE14 if PR manages to promote more a ‘winnable’ PM since this large silent group will vote PR just to teach BN a lesson.

    2. ‘Contoh: isu kuil boleh dibawa diskus bawah pokok aje di lokasi berkenaan. Tapi mengapa Pemuda MIC attacked Ku Nan? Then, UMNO attacked MIC. Isu macamni pun UMNO dan MIC nak gaduh, banyak lagi isu besar perlu perhatian.’

Betul kata Ku Nan, tempat tu sebenarnya kedai makan. Dulu opis saya kat Menara Weld.

      1. Re. Betul kata Ku Nan, tempat tu sebenarnya kedai makan. Dulu opis saya kat Menara Weld.

Mamak rain tree tu ke? Memang kedai makan dulu.

Kat Jalan Hang Tuah ada dua. Satu depan Masjid Al Bhukary. Tak nampak dari jalan, sebab dia bawah pokok besar. Lagi satu dekat flat sri serawak.

Bila dah biasa petang2 (dulu kedai mamak kat the weld macam sekarang belum ada) lepak situ minum air tin saja.

Kalau dah tentu kuil takkanlah orang nak pergi makan kat situ, ye dak.

                HRP bukan jurucakap Hindraf.

                Kesian depa (masyarakat India).

                    1. I agree. Too many dissenting voices among them. Bersatu teguh, bercerai roboh. How to command attention like that?

Lets not start talking about yang tak mengaku Indians…

                1. RE. Oh, diorang dah berpecah lah.

Sorry to say this “Apa kasi, Dia Orang Kasi Pecah”. I have said this so many times and since forever…

  4. Of course GE14 is going to be a war. GE 13 was already a war and UMNO thought so too with Najib’s speech about defending Putrajaya “even if our bodies are crushed and our lives lost, brothers and sisters, whatever happens, we must defend Putrajaya” and of course KJ evoking Churchill.

However I think this whole J-Star thing is played out. Am I persuaded by your arguments that there is an anti Establishment/UMNO influence in the Star ? Well yes. Do I think the MCA is dead as a political party ? Well yes. However the more I read these kinds of post, the more it exposes the shortcomings of UMNO in this propaganda war.

In one of the other numerous threads, good old Zam claims that the MCA does not have control over the Star (like UMNO has over Utusan) and that the Star is more interested in money than in nationalism.

Ok, let’s explore this a bit. What kind of nationalism is Utusan peddling? Besides admitting to fabricating and spinning, this is a paper that has been sued numerous times and engages in hate speech against the target demographic of the Star. Zam claims that UMNO has control over the paper, which means that nationalism to UMNO means demonizing the Chinese community.

Not to mention that the rhetoric of Utusan goes against the 1Malaysia propaganda of BN. So this either means that UMNO has no control over Utusan or that Utusan doesn’t give a shit of what current PM Najib is peddling.

As to the profit motif, while UMNO may not need the profits or lack thereof from Utusan, the numerous financial scandals over the years demonstrates that they have other streams of public revenue. However the problem is that the 1Malaysia propaganda and Bangsa Malaysia BS is in essence the same. Both are bromides meant to distract from the far more important issues that racial politics and capitalism create.

In other words what the J-Star does in mimicking the DAP’s Bangsa Malaysia crap would be no different if they were parroting the 1Malaysia horse manure of BN. I mean how many ways could you paint a lowest common denominator picture of joyful race relations in a country riddled with race issues?

The inclusion of DAP propagandist like OKM which bites the hand that feeds the DAP (in the propaganda sense) is merely evidence that Chinese racial politics has reached a level where a dead MCA has no problem conceding the ground to a newer replacement.

Besides getting money from the Star, the party continues to facilitate the pecuniary relationships between not only UMNO (but if my sources are correct, and I have no reason to believe otherwise) but also PKR , PAS and the DAP. This is something that UMNO is very well aware off.

If Utusan is targeted at the rural Malays and the propaganda is tailored for that audience, what exactly does someone like Zam, think an urban mostly Chinese audience which is hostile to the UMNO Establishment wants ?

This is exactly why UMNO is losing the English medium propaganda war. If UMNO was not in moronic mode, which decades of rule encourages, they would understand that there are many ways to go about winning or at least holding their own in the English medium propaganda war without trespassing into freedom of expression.

I would point the way but why give ammo to a political party that has shown no interest in changing the way it operates.

    1. re: “even if our bodies are crushed and our lives lost, brothers and sisters, whatever happens, we must defend Putrajaya”

You’re referring to the following passage in Najib’s speech full text here):

“Berpasaklah kepada parti Umno. Bertetaplah kepada panji-panji Barisan Nasional. Walau berkecai tulang dan juga badan, walau bercerai jasad dari nyawa. Saudara dan saudari, walau apa pun yang terjadi, Putrajaya mesti kita pertahankan!”

Aiyah, Najib was just using bahasa berbunga-bunga lah. They all talk like that one in every PAU.

      1. Hehehe……Helen. You understand Malay lingo and bahasa Melayu bunga-bunga pretty well. I’m impressed.

      2. The first rule of propaganda warfare, don’t say dumb things which could be used against you esp if the DAP said something like this, you (UMNO) would use it against them.

  5. Hi Helen,

    1. You wrote it all.

    2. Now, something boggle my mind. No response from UMNO buggers so far. I commented in zamkata and our ex minister agreed and replied in tune. Credit to your blog too.

    3. Maybe Outsyed The Blog like to use his special bomb ! he..he…

    Kudos.

  6. Helen,

Someone in your column wrote that UMNO is in difficult position. It realise MCA as a dying party. But to the writer, kicking MCA will put UMNO in bad light.

I responded that only a moron would want to allow himself to be backstabbed numerous times by the very same people (in this case MCA).

It becomes complicates when UMNO refuses to be firm. Meaning UMNO as the “supremo’ in BN and local politics lanscape must show that it does not tolerate backstabbing. Those who backstab must be dealt seriously.

But i understand why UMNO sometimes is very “unconcerned” with MCA’s antics. For a number of reasons actually. In the first place, nobody thinks MCA is anyway near to UMNO in term of clout and influence. MCA is dying, rejected by chinese community while UMNO commands the lion share of malay votes, although sometimes by default. The last election shows its Malay base support is increasing, partly due to Malays having simply no better alternatives.

But the ground rule is changing. Old ways is making its exit. Gone are the days where MCA simply can win in Malay areas. Meaning Malays are telling UMNO that it can kiss a safe seat “goodbye” if it puts MCA again in Malay areas. What happened in Alor Setar, Kuantan should serve as a reminder.

As for UMNO, I often says a tiger sometimes must roar and an emperor must behave like one. So that a message is sent that no way UMNO tolerates nonsense.

It does not take much to appreciate why local politics during Tun Dr Mahathir’s tenure was “less turbulent” as compared to Najib’s era. why? Because Tun is forever firm.

Samad Said would have been in ISA should Dr mahathir still in power. And I believe that is the proper place for “sasterawan Negara yang tak sedar diri”.

And he can befriend Namawee there. If only Dr mahathir is still the PM.

    1. re: “Malays are telling UMNO that it can kiss a safe seat ‘goodbye’ if it puts MCA again in Malay areas.”

Yes, MCA is as good as dead.

        Nak buat baja kompos kut?

      2. Helen,

UMNO really “menempah maut” if it continues its unappreciated gesture of allowing MCA to contest in Malay majority areas.

Only UMNO is lucky as the choices for Malays are simply limited. Unlike Chinese, Malays do not have the luxury of choices when it comes to politics. Should UMNO “bungkus”, it will be “Gone with the wind” for the malays.

    2. quote. “Meaning Malays are telling UMNO that it can kiss a safe seat “goodbye” if it puts MCA again in Malay areas. What happened in Alor Setar, Kuantan should serve as a reminder.” unquote.

Include Bandar Tun Razak also. I felt very disgusted with MCA when I later learned that MCA members themselves were thought to have voted PKR for BTR in GE13 instead of voting their own MCA candidate.

      1. ‘Include Bandar Tun Razak also. I felt very disgusted with MCA when I later learned that MCA members themselves were thought to have voted PKR for BTR in GE13 instead of voting their own MCA candidate.’

That is how they had managed to overthrow the Manchus…sneaky eh!

      2. Setem,

That is very clear to everyone except to Najib.

Chinese have nothing to lose. They can still reject Najib outright. Yet Najib still “terhegeh hegeh’.

  7. A couple of bloggers put up a poll on UMNO’s Vice Presidency contest.

It’s not surprising to see that Mukhriz is high on the list (but he hasn’t said he’s going to contest) and the former Menteri Amaran, Hishamuddin is at the bottom pile.

I’d like to see Zahid wins the VP race.

    1. Re. It’s not surprising to see that Mukhriz is high on the list (but he hasn’t said he’s going to contest.

Alhamdulillah. I hope he will win…

Re. the former Menteri Amaran, Hishamuddin is at the bottom pile.

I hope he will be out…

Re. I’d like to see Zahid wins the VP race

      In syaa Allah

  8. Helen,

If you meant co-operation in the word ‘tahalul’ then the right word is ‘tahaluf’ – with f. Tahalul is something muslim do in Hajj ritual. Tahaluf is co-operation.

    1. Thanks. Yes, I’m aware of the difference between tahalul and tahaluf (siyasi, as with DAP-PAS as they like to portray themselves).

Choice of “tahalul” for the sake of rhyming with “bahlul”, and I copy the phrase from the Anon comment in The Unspinners.

  9. Couldn’t the MCA owned newspaper continue with it’s current direction regardless? It’s a profitable media entity. I’m not sure any of the others are. In terms of advertising preference, if I’m not mistaken, the Star is ranked no. 1 for English, and Berita Harian for Malay.

Actually, I wouldn’t discount the influence of the people who controls the country’s wealth. In fact, it could very well be the deciding factor in the next GE.

UMNO won’t kick out MCA… but MCA can leave BN…

    1. The issue is not the pro-DAP stance of The J-Star.

The issue is the MCA, which owns the media group, allowing the Scissorati who are on their payroll to constantly backstab the BN.

The J-Star can choose to be as anti-establishment as Malaysiakini but its owner the MCA should not be allowed to remain in the BN if this is the direction that the paper persists in taking.

  10. UMNO tunggu MCA mintak talak.

  11. Bukan “tahalul” tapi tahalluf atau tahaluf (single “L” or double “L” , not too sure). PAS panggil tahalluf siasi (kerjasama politik). Tapi sebenarnya bukan tahalluf siasi tapi “tahalluf SIALsi”.

Sebab tahalluf sial ni la para dapsters jadi kurang ajar sebab bila dapsters hina Islam/Melayu/Sultan, para penjilat si kafir dari PAS akan membela mereka…terutama sekali mujahid, khalid samad, dzulkefli ahmad, mat “shiah” sabu.

    1. Kalau Idris eja “tahalluf SIALsi”, apa salahnya saya eja “tahalul bahlul”?
