Garangnya … If looks could kill

“I really think moral policing has to stop,” said Selangor State Speaker Hannah Yeoh.

“How do you draw the line? Now you hear about people giving women pants to cover up even when giving birth. How extreme can you be?”

But Ms Yeoh says such moral policing exists everywhere and she has experienced it first-hand.

After recently donning a headscarf inside a mosque, she was accused by a Chinese paper columnist of encouraging Malay government officials to impose dress codes on Chinese women.

“If you can’t tell the difference between wearing a selendang (headscarf) in a place of worship and being forced to wear a selendang in a government office, then something is quite wrong,” she said.

Ms Yeoh says at the end of the day, these issues are distractions and it is time to focus on bigger problems affecting Malaysia – such as the economy.” – AFP/ec

Hippocrite Hannah

Hannah’s girls in the mosque

Hannah Yeoh mosque visit

Why don’t the Chinese wear like the above mosque-trotting attire (which DAP evangelista girls in general appear to be so fond of) when they visit government offices?

Kan senang, instead of accusing the civil service bureaucracy of being “extremist” in imposing a dress code requiring the hemline to fall below the knee.

The Sin Chew columnist is perfectly correct to call out Hannah Yeoh and the DAP’s hypocrisy on this matter.

And speaking of Chinese media personnel, it’s more than high time the BN took action against the Nest of Evangelistas gunting dalam lipatan.

BN will be better off without the MCA just like PAS is functioning with much greater cohesiveness now that it has purged the Anwarinas.

The MCA are musuh dalam selimut backstabbers that is undermining the BN every step of the way through the EvangeliSTAR which the Chinese party has lost control of.

Have you noticed how the foreign media are almost always interviewing opposition people but rarely giving the establishment side a fair airing?

  1. ……But Ms Yeoh says such moral policing exists everywhere and she has experienced it first-hand….

Haiyaa, ni sudah pasti dia cermin muka dia hari2. Yang dia tak putus sampai meleleh ayaq lioq dok cakap oghang lain “racists”, “extremists”, “bigots”, “evil/wicked”, “corrupt” tu apa benda? Isshh

    1. Come to Singapore, Rina – and see for yourself how the different races get along with each other.

Go take a look at Raffles Place during lunchtime on weekdays and see how the office crowds dress. Plenty of things, miniskirts and spaghetti tops. And no one gives a damn.

So, enough with the moralising already.

If you want to use that as an excuse or a “crutch” to try and explain a lack of competitiveness or performance or academic ability or sporting excellence, go ahead.

While others do really get ahead.

      1. Are you suggesting that Malaysia should emulate Singapore and abolish Chinese schools as well as enforce mixed housing?

        1. The person is on crack literally. He obviously has never lived or worked in that island state but that’s about to change when he comes in and says he once lived and worked in Singapore, typical opposition hack you know what I m saying ?

The island state is a high class maximum security prison. A maximum security prison designed to protect the rich and powerful from the masses who toil day in day out and the fruits of their labor are enjoyed by the very same rich and powerful elite. Why do you think Singapore has the best security apparatus to stifle dissent in South East Asia ? Your answer is as good as mine.

Foreigners, typically those with money love Singapore precisely because it’s model of governance allows for the exploitation of the masses thus the continuous accumulation and control of wealth, not much difference from what’s happening here, only that it’s much more brutal, hence more efficient than our model of exploiting the Average Joe. But here we at least know we can say what we want without fearing that the government will sue you for saying so.

Don’t believe me ? Ask Chris.

          1. Strange logic, this. But par for the course.

Maybe that’s why foreigners and MNCs love Singapore. You know – safety, security, predictability, rule of law, lack of corruption, good education system, an ongoing emphasis on religious and racial harmony – stuff like that.

That sounds like a pretty decent “prison” to me….

            Hahaha.

            1. Any chance you still keeping your I/C Rithmatist? Hope not. UBAH for progress won’t you reckon? Dah surrender ke kewarganegaraan?

        2. Too clever by half.

Go read up about SAP schools in Singapore. And compulsory mother tongue education in the city-state.

And while you are about it, why not do some research on the teaching of English, Maths and Science in Singapore schools? Or about Pisa rankings or the performance of Singapore’s students (locals and PRs) in exams such as the O and A Levels or the International Baccalaureate?

So, abolishing Chinese-medium schools in Malaysia MAY be worth considering. While you are about it, why not consider also bringing back English-medium schools? Let parents decide where their children should study – freedom of choice, you know.

As for “mixed housing”, I presume you are referring to strictly mandated ethnic quotas in public housing (like HDB estates in Singapore) and not to private housing (where free markets prevail)?

          1. re: “Go read up about SAP schools in Singapore. And compulsory mother tongue education in the city-state.”

Sure by all means. Let’s have 1Sekolah Untuk Semua and include compulsory mother tongue education in Mandarin, Tamil and other language options should there be enough demand. Why don’t you float your Singapore-Success suggestion to the DAP?

re: “And while you are about it, why not do some research on the teaching of English, Maths and Science in Singapore schools?”

Since their medium of instruction is English, then naturally their Maths & Science will be taught in English. And since our Sekolah Kebangsaan medium is bahasa Melayu, then naturally our Maths & Science will be taught in BM. I don’t see why some people are so fanatical about English as their Bahasa Jiwa Bangsa.

re: “Or about Pisa rankings or the performance of Singapore’s students (locals and PRs) in exams such as the O and A Levels or the International Baccalaureate?”

S’pore is an advanced city state. Their whole country is concentrated in one compact metropolis. Malaysia, on the other hand, still has students in rural areas and the interior where schools may still be powered by generator. How can you compare the national exam performance between the two?

re: “So, abolishing Chinese-medium schools in Malaysia MAY be worth considering.”

Like I said, why don’t you go float this idea in one of the Dapster-infested online forums.

re: “While you are about it, why not consider also bringing back English-medium schools?”

No, I believe in the national language. Like Japanese kids are taught in Japanese, Korean kids are taught in Korean, Thai kids are taught in Thai, etc.

re: “Let parents decide where their children should study – freedom of choice, you know.”

Go ahead. Send them to S’pore to study like Tony Pua and Ong Kian Ming. Furthermore we have You-The-Rithmatist giving a guarantee of Singapore’s superior education.

            1. ‘Why don’t you float your Singapore-Success suggestion to the DAP?’

Haiya, mau mati aah? The Cina will panggang DAP hidup2 lor kalau ini macam. Ingat itu DZ & JZ tak run amok ka nanti? RM55 Juta who wants to jaga?

‘I don’t see why some people are so fanatical about English as their Bahasa Jiwa Bangsa.’

Saja nak deflect sebab memang tak mau hantar pi sekolah kebangsaan pun. Nak hantar cakap hua yi saja maa. Speak Malay wor, ‘lazy-stupid-inbreeding-feudal-sakai’ language, how I want?

              Kan Rithmatist?

      2. Rithmatist
Haiyaa. My Sister in law Singaporean ma.. What you want to celita about that place to me?

Haiyaa.. No need to bullshit. No life there wan. Lousy food. Stay in tiny HDB flat like pigeonholes also belly expensive. Want to buy also expensive. Buy car foolamak belly expensive. You can earn SGD8K there but quality of life earning that kind of money just like PATI’s quality of life here only owh.

Now CPF also not sure belongs to you or not?

Haiyaaa. The Mainland Chinese there are more polite and cultured than the Singaporean Chinese. There all very proud to be Kiasu wan. Must work until you die to survive wan. So many elderlies still have to cari makan to survive.

Okay you happy there? Weekends or short holidays don’t kasi jam Johore to get your groceries and petrol okay..

          1. Tu la my PTD kawan n wife oso selalu cakap, seminggu sekali mesti pergi JB. Singapore too small. Wife tak tahan. Claustrophobic. Biasa Malaysians. Tempat seluas-luas alam. Pulau 1/3 saiz Iskandar, mana bley tahan.

Kadang-kadang pergi breakfast kat JB, lagi banyak choices la. Rithmatist masih boleh pergi Batam ke?

        1. It seems that you don’t like your Singaporean sister in law?

Really? I wonder why that could be? Envious about her lifestyle, education, job and career? Or because she has the freedom to do what she wants to do without the moral police looking askance at every supposed transgression?

And your crass attempts to write in pidgin English, or what purports to pass for Singlish, isn’t even remotely hilarious.

Why don’t you ask how many Singaporean Malays are willing to trade their pink IC for a Malaysian MyKad or have their kids study in Malaysia’s “national schools”?

As for HDB apartments in Singapore, I dare say that a typical HDB estate in Singapore is much better planned and better connected with better infrastructure than what passes for “low cost” or “affordable” housing in Singapore.

          Deal with it!

          1. ‘Why don’t you ask how many Singaporean Malays are willing to trade their pink IC’

Haiya, lu ah, why should they one, they natives what? The pendatangs oso not leaving maa?

          2. ……without the moral police looking askance at every supposed transgression?….

What a laugh. Sana tak payah buka mulut, saman mali owh…

Definitely hang ni not resident of Singapore. Sekadar punggok rindukan bulan aje.

            1. Sekarang nak salahkan orang Cina bila sanak-saudara sendiri dengki mendengki?

              1. Sudah jangan bawak perangai memberontak macam Chang Kai Shek masuk sini boleh tak? Malaysia sudah kutip masa Merdeka. Apa lagi mau lawan?

  2. Ooh, Helen – sour grapes?

Or are you righteously miffed that you have not been interviewed by AFP, Bloomberg, Channel News Asia, Reuters or the Wall Street Journal?

Maybe that’s what it is all about – plain and simple jealousy that Hannah Yeoh is better able to communicate her views to Malaysians and the outside world than you can do in your blog postings.

That would explain a great deal about your angst….

    Jealousy…..the primal motive!

    1. The AFP story that we can access online interviewed only two individuals – G25’s Noor Farida and Hannah.

That means that hundreds of other prominent women – say Nancy Shukri, Rohani Abdul Karim the Women Affairs Minister, Wanita/Puteri Umno chiefs, Wanita MCA chief/Deputy Ministers Chew Mei Fun/Mary Yap, Teresa Kok, Elizabeth Wong, Nurul Izzah, Wan Azizah or public figures who wear tudung, say Siti Nurhaliza, Yuna etc. or who don’t, say Marina Mahathir, Zainah Anwar, Maria Abdullah Chin – were all overlooked for the interview.

So why should lil’ ol’ me be “jealous” of Hannah when a whole slew of public figures were not contacted by the international press?

As I’ve said before and the BN should urgently look into this problem – our national narrative has been hijacked by the opposition where control/dominance of the media is concerned. The BN is simply suicidal in allowing the oppo to seize control of the mass communication.

Furthermore, the agenda-setting by the English-language press both local and foreign is quite clear. (Again, I blame Umno for losing the plot.) If anything, the woman whose comment should have rightly been sought is cabinet minister Rohani – it’s her portfolio.

And as for your cheap baiting, tsk tsk, show more standard lah. We have a discerning readership here, not the zombies that populate Dapsterland although they’ve taken over most of the cyber space (and allow me to repeat that I fault Umno on this too, i.e. allowing the Bintang Tiga to bermaharajalela).

      1. He equates success by having interviews with the likes of AFP, Bloomberg, Channel News Asia, Reuters and the Wall Street Journal. That says something about him. Or as some would say, he’s a person with a colored surface but a white core.

        1. Or somebody who calls them as he or she sees them.

Tsk tsk – is that the best rebuttal that you could come up with?

      2. Exactly right.

So, are you saying that Malaysia’s PR image and communications strategy are in a shambles?

The international media are not staffed by unqualified dumbsters (to coin a word). If they choose to interview someone, they know what they are doing.

And the government’s PR apparatus should be perfectly capable of picking up on and rebutting such “unfriendly” interviews.

        Aren’t they?

As for my “cheap baiting”, isn’t that the “hard truth”?

Or maybe you can’t stand it when you get shown up or when others refuse to buckle under your strictures.

That reeks perilously of “bullying”, doesn’t it – a label that you are only to eager to tag others with.

        1. re: “So, are you saying that Malaysia’s PR image and communications strategy are in a shambles?”

Funny thing is that I was just about to tell you that as a Chinese, I’m not at the receiving end of a blanket condemnation labelling the community I belong to as “racist”, “extremist”, “bigoted”, “haters”, ad infinitum.

You see, when a group (in this case Malay-Muslims) are successfully tarred and feathered by a broad brush, then it indicates that the PR image and communications strategy of the Umno-led BN has failed whereas the black propaganda strategy of the DAP has succeeded should the “racist” etc labels stick.

But then the general pattern is recently spoilt by Hannah Yeoh who demonized the Sin Chew columnist as a Chinese extremist. Thus I believe that my recent blog posting on ‘omerta’ is appropriate. The columnist broke ranks among the 90 percent by criticizing a DAP icon while Hannah for her Me First interests became a race traitor by accusing one of their own of extremism.

e.g. Read the lava out hate being “spewed” at Perkasa by the readers on the following threads,

          http://www.malaysiakini.com/news/303621
          http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/malaysia/article/perkasa-offended-over-suarams-human-rights-report

re: “The international media are not staffed by unqualified dumbsters (to coin a word). If they choose to interview someone, they know what they are doing.”

Of course they do. They interview that someone to get the story that they want, like the interview by the New York Times not too long ago with Tun.

re: “And the government’s PR apparatus should be perfectly capable of picking up on and rebutting such ‘unfriendly’ interviews.”

Anifah Aman rebutted the NYT report vis-a-vis Tun but our Foreign Minister got attacked by the Tun crowd.

Who plays the perception game better? Between Tun and Najib, it is Tun. Between DAP and Umno, it is DAP. There’s a winner and a loser, that’s all. DAP happens to be on a winning streak in demonizing their opponents.

Between the evangelical Christians and the Islamists, the outpouring of hate is by the Christians against the Muslims, as the vitriol against Isma is testimony to. But the evangelistas are such adroit players that they can turn around and claim to be the meek and mild, peace-loving, teeny-weeny group being oppressed by the tyranny of the majority.

re: “As for my ‘cheap baiting’, isn’t that the ‘hard truth’?”

Ha ha ha, it’s Truth to you but you’ve given us an ample demonstration of the Orwellian world in which your mind resides.

re: “Or maybe you can’t stand it when you get shown up or when others refuse to buckle under your strictures.”

I don’t see how you can claim to show me up when all you do is make accusations such as I’m “hysterical” and “jealous”. I can make allegations against you too if I care to stoop to your level.

re: “That reeks perilously of ‘bullying’, doesn’t it – a label that you are only to eager to tag others with.”

The Dapster evangelista daily rant of the day today is against Perkasa. You can go to the threads I listed above and read the kind of personal putdowns that they’re hurling against the Perkasa sec-gen who issued the press statement.

It’s the usual torrent of hate by the usual Jerusubang mob directed at one individual – today the fler at the receiving end happens to be Syed Hassan Syed Ali. It can easily be Firdaus Wong or Alifah Ting or Felixia Yap or anyone getting in the evangelista crosshairs.

The mob action doesn’t merely reek of bullying, it is evidently gang-bang super cyberbullying verging on ‘terrorism’. The Red Beanies are not far from Mao’s Red Army, the communist cadres who terrorized the Chinese countryside during the Chairman’s genocidal dictatorship.

          1. The Orwellian world – where some “are more equal than others”?

It seems to that you have described the modus operandi in places that you don’t want to name.

It is telling that you keep on harping on Isma while ignoring reports about the depredations of IS/ISIS/ISIL/Daesh.

A tad selective, aren’t you? Or are you choosing the narrative that best suits your agenda?

As for Perkasa and Isma – why shouldn’t they be taken to task for their views? Or are they somehow exempted from criticism?

            1. re: “The Orwellian world – where some ‘are more equal than others’?”

In other countries of the world, its citizens have got core commonalities. Thaksin, Abhisit and Yingluck are of Chinese descent but they speak Thai as their native tongue. Can you name me one country where its leading politicians speak their country’s language tunggang terbalik like many of the DAP pollies?

Or name me one country in the world where its citizens who are of immigrant stock diss their national language like how the Chinese here diss BM.

re: “It seems to that you have described the modus operandi in places that you don’t want to name.”

Sure, I name the places – Jerusubang and Dapsterland.

re: “It is telling that you keep on harping on Isma while ignoring reports about the depredations of IS/ISIS/ISIL/Daesh.”

I do not “harp” on Isma. “Harp” is a negative word whereas my coverage of Isma has been objective and neutral.

As for ISIS (you can’t even fix on a name), Damascus is 4,700 miles away while the Isma HQ in Bangi is not all that far from where I live. And I’ve never visited Syria in my life. It only goes to show how unhinged – or Islamophobic – you are in your obsession that ISIS must be given coverage in my blog.

re: “A tad selective, aren’t you? Or are you choosing the narrative that best suits your agenda?”

Anyone can see how unreasonable you are. Why compel me to write about Syrians? They’re very remote from my existence.

re: “As for Perkasa and Isma – why shouldn’t they be taken to task for their views? Or are they somehow exempted from criticism?”

If you’ll read the urls I provided, you can see that they (or more specifically Syed Hassan) are being torn apart by the Jerusubang mob for the views held by Perkasa and Isma. Why don’t you tell us whether you concur with the Dapster evangelista POV?

          2. “You see, when a group (in this case Malay-Muslims) are successfully tarred and feathered by a broad brush, then it indicates that the PR image and communications strategy of the Umno-led BN has failed whereas the black propaganda strategy of the DAP has succeeded should the “racist” etc labels stick.”

This is inaccurate, considering that the PKR and PAS Malays contribute a lot to the media offensive on the Barisan Nasional government. And lately, the supporters of Tun Mahathir have also joined in. They may have different end goals but they have co-opted the issues that were raised by the Opposition years ago, such as the 1MDB fiasco, Rosmah’s spendthrift ways, and other scandals.

“Between the evangelical Christians and the Islamists, the outpouring of hate is by the Christians against the Muslims, as the vitriol against Isma is testimony to.”

Isma has been very active in demonising other religions. Any non-Muslim religion is considered a foe to these people, hence their reaction over the Klang Hindu temple renovation.

“The mob action doesn’t merely reek of bullying, it is evidently gang-bang super cyberbullying verging on ‘terrorism’. The Red Beanies are not far from Mao’s Red Army, the communist cadres who terrorized the Chinese countryside during the Chairman’s genocidal dictatorship.”

Quite an exaggeration considering that the Red Army brutalised and killed millions. The right wing fascists of Isma and Perkasa are closer to the Red Army, given their rampant hostility towards other faiths, races, and opinions, plus their occasional fantasies of communal violence.

            1. re: “This is inaccurate”

You’re the one who’s inaccurate. Your dismal track record is proof.

re: “considering that the PKR and PAS Malays contribute a lot to the media offensive on the Barisan Nasional government”

True that PKR and PAS attack Umno. But Rafizi & Gang hentam on issues like 1MDB, Tabung Haji land, earlier NFC, etc.

I specifically said the DAP evangelista-controlled media has succeeded in tarring Umno Malays and Muslims as “racists”, “extremists”, “bigots”, “haters”, etc. 1MDB and its related financial controversies are NOT race and religion issues.

re: “And lately, the supporters of Tun Mahathir have also joined in.”

Tun & Gang media offensive is to push Najib to resign. It’s not about tarring Umno Malays and Muslims as “racists”, “extremists”, “bigots”, “haters”, etc. And neither is it to demonize the Malay Muslims because Tun & Gang are Malay Muslims themselves.

It’s quite clear that the people engaging in the propaganda of portraying the majority Malays (belonging to Umno which has 3 million members) as “racists”, “extremists”, “bigots”, “haters” are certainly no other than the DAP evangelistas – incl. DAP Malays – and the media and social media that they dominate.

re: “They may have different end goals but they have co-opted the issues that were raised by the Opposition years ago, such as the 1MDB fiasco, Rosmah’s spendthrift ways, and other scandals.”

1MDB, Rosmah and other over-spending are not Race and Religion issues. Rosmah is not a “racist” for having so many dresses. To remind you again, I said the DAP propaganda is more effective compared to anything Umno can muster because the evangelistas have succeeded in portraying Umno as racist among a lot of the Pakatan voters. It’s their Politics of Hate.

re: “Isma has been very active in demonising other religions. Any non-Muslim religion is considered a foe to these people, hence their reaction over the Klang Hindu temple renovation.”

Aiyoh, I did a Google on the word “kuil” in the Isma website and got 9 results, see https://www.google.com/search?tbs=qdr:y&q=%22kuil%22+site:http:%2F%2Fwww.ismaweb.net%2F&biw=1093&bih=455&ech=1&psi=kyKWVYO6CI6wuQT3gZmgBg.1435902614200.5&ei=kyKWVYO6CI6wuQT3gZmgBg&emsg=NCSR&noj=1

Repeating the search with the word “gereja” yielded nine-plus pages, i.e. 90+ results. (Note: These results are not fine-tuned as I’ve not gone through them one by one, they’re just a rough survey).

It’s clear that Isma sees the Church and the evangelistas as a greater threat compared with “kuil” – a building which covers collectively Hindu, Buddhist, Taoist and Sikh houses of worship.

re: “Quite an exaggeration considering that the Red Army brutalised and killed millions.”

In absolute numbers, perhaps, but in terms of brutality, the DAP Bintang Lima are on par.

re: “The right wing fascists of Isma and Perkasa are closer to the Red Army, given their rampant hostility towards other faiths, races, and opinions, plus their occasional fantasies of communal violence.”

Wrt “their occasional fantasies of communal violence”, you’re showing that you’re a slanderer. As for your name calling, they’re more appropriate on the Bintang Lima.

  3. …..“I really think moral policing has to stop,” said Selangor State Speaker Hannah Yeoh…..

    Beza sungguh pendapat dia dgn group Evangelicals ini;

………Still, a group of Evangelical Christians in Brazil is trying to do its part to cleanse humanity of its bikini pics, its cursing and its general tendency toward fornication……

    http://www.cnet.com/news/evangelicals-create-sin-free-facebook/

    1. The DAP evangelistas are schizophrenic.

They willingly cover up from hair to wrist to ankle in their tudung and baju kurung – which all the other Chinese women (MCA, Gerakan, SUPP, etc don’t do) but at the same time, beriya-iya insist on their right to wear sleeves blouses and short skirts in defiance of dress code.

Dan lepas tu, lidah berbelit-belit menegakkan benang basah.

Schizo people can sometimes be a danger to society.
