Zaid akan bertanding atas tiket DAP?

Free Malaysia Today melapor bahawa ia dimaklumkan Zaid Ibrahim akan bertanding kerusi Parlimen di bawah panji-panji DAP.

Dalam rencana Jan 3 itu yang bertajuk ‘DAP to ‘sacrifice’ seats for Malay candidates‘, FMT berkata ada ura-ura Zaid akan dicalonkan di sebuah kawasan bandar.

Screenshot rencana 'Free Malaysia Today'

  1. Berapa lama sebelum Zaid gaduh dalam DAP?

    6 month to 3 years?

    A Voice,

  2. I dont know why, but this guy sounds fishy..and he looks fishy to me.. Banyak kali lompat parti..It’s better for him jadi ahli Bebas sahaja.

  3. Helen,

Your second last para: you missed the word ‘bukanlah’ after the word ‘Zahid’.

Haha. I do genuinely have a good opinion of Zaid. — Helen

  4. Yes Zaid Ibrahim is the potential PM material for Malaysia. Go for it and ABU all the way to GE13. Go Zaid Go.

  5. I tend to disagree with the view that Zaid is a principled person. Just go through his speeches and statements since leaving PKR. He first tried to be friendly to BN to the extent some people were speculating that he wants KITA to join BN.

And then he changed his ways abruptly and now is throwing all his weight behind PR.

Frankly I don’t think the leaders of Pakatan will agree on Zaid becoming the PM if they capture Putrajaya if DSAI gets jailed. There is no way in the hell the sodomy-accused, ex-DPM and PM-wannabe DSAI will agree to it. Recently they even said they have a back-up plan in the event DSAI gets the slammer. Obviously they did not reveal the person but we can be assured that it will be from PAS or PKR and the person will be a Malay-Muslim. Obviously too it won’t be Azizah or Nurul Izzah for PAS will never agree to having a woman as the leader. So I guess the candidate will be from PAS and probably from the Erdogan faction.

Now, let’s look into why DAP is busy getting ex-UMNO people even though they consider UMNO as racist and corrupt.

I think it is not so much to change the perception that they are a racist, chauvinist Chinese-based party (which they obviously are). But it is more to do with their larger design.

They know that PAS and PKR would not be able to replicate their landslide victory in 2008. They probably feeling they can retain their support or even increase it even. As such their influence within PR will increase. So most probably they are planning to have their own candidate as CM/MB in case they managed to win/retain Perak, NS, Selangor, etc.

On a long term my prediction is that they will get more politically bankrupt UMNO members to stand on DAP seat hoping to attract Malay votes. This will enable they party to ditch PKR and PAS and form state or even Fed govts on their own. So we might have a DAP person as PM one day. Of course this Malay member will be “supported” by Chinese DPM. What we will have then is the world’s first Ali Baba state where the DPM and ordinary will control the PM, just like what happened in Perak under Pakatan.

    1. When we refer to the matter of “principles”, the standard for politicians, for priests and nuns, and for average, ordinary people are significantly different.

Politicians who stick to too high principles of integrity and honour normally required of priests and nuns will inevitably turn out to be failed politicians. Don’t ask me why because I don’t know why. But that’s the way our world is, not only in Malaysia, but also in so-called more advanced and more civilised countries.

It appears that for politicians to be successful, they need to be at least a little crooked, but not too crooked. The successful ones will know the limit. The failed ones go past the limit. They also need to be able to tell a few lies now and then. Not too many lies, but just enough to let people know that they are still human like the rest of us, priests and nuns excepted.

Similarly for priests and nuns, they have to maintain higher levels of integrity and honour than that for average, normal people.

Your statement that “DAP is busy getting ex-UMNO people even though they consider UMNO as racist and corrupt” is totally unfair. Such a sweeping statement concludes that not just 90%, or even 99%, but 100% of UMNO members are racist and corrupt. You and others with similar mindset should not allow your hatred of UMNO to consume you to the extent of believing and concluding that 100% of UMNO members are 100% racist and 100% corrupt. Isn’t it just possible that the UMNO members being courted and invited to join DAP are among those who are not racist and not corrupt. Again, when I say not corrupt, I refer to the standard of integrity applicable to politicians, and not to the the standard applicable to priests and nuns.

      1. Ong…. When did I say 100% of UMNO members are racist and corrupt? What I said was that DAP asserts UMNO is racist and corrupt. Perhaps you should read my post with your eyes and mind wide open.

    2. Calvin Sankaran … you talked as if the Malay DAP’s PM is brainless …. has to be controlled by the Chinese DPM ….

      1. I did not say so, but that’s what you assume. In any case, when DAP puts up a puppet Malay in a high position, what kind of leverage or influence that person will have ?

Look at Penang and the situation of Prof Rama as the DCM2. Rama was not even a member of DAP until the last moment and then immediately put up as MP & ADUN and then promoted as DCM2 even though he was from Selangor. He is not a bad person but look at the way he is treated and the kind of authority, respect and power he has. Zero. He’s just a glorified office boy. He’s just a figurehead to fool the Indian electorate.

    3. You wrote “let’s look into why DAP is busy getting ex-UMNO people even though they consider UMNO as racist and corrupt.”

      1. What’s the problem here ? You can’t understand simple English or just refuse to see the reality like a typical DAP fanboy ?

    4. My apologies, Calvin. Earlier I didn’t realised I was addressing a piece of wood. Now that I do, good-bye and please don’t turn into a piece of rock.

  6. “This will enable they party to ditch PKR and PAS and form state or even Fed govts on their own. So we might have a DAP person as PM one day.”

Interesting, pray tell how DAP could do this by demonstrating to us a simple arithmetic, out of the 222 parliament seats, how many DAP can win to the extent that you still label them as a Chinese party?

    1. Perhaps your own logic failed you. DAP cannot form their own govt now as they are only competing in the Chinese majority area. By putting in their own Malay candidates and let PKR, PAS and UMNO kill off each other and divide the Malay votes and grab a lion’s share of non Malay votes, they can form the state and Fed govts.

Because of the constitutional requirements they will have to install a puppet Malay PM or CM/MB but control the person like what happened in Perak.

      1. “install a puppet Malay PM or CM/MB but control the person like what happened in Perak.”

How much more cynical can anyone be?

How much more insulting to Malays can anyone be?

If DAP has no non-Chinese leaders, it is a chauvinistic Chinese party.

If DAP “installs” a Malay, (hey! what about Indians? Are they puppets too?), the Malay must be a puppet, as if Malays can never be capable of being leaders based on their own ability and capability.

      2. To tell me my logic fail me, don’t you think you should at least retort with some logical contention instead of unsubstantiated paranoia? That is what kids normally do after listening to too many whimsy tales. I also don’t expect you to answer my simple question, I know, this require some factual reasoning plus a little bit of logic mind which I think you possess none. Here is another simple question for the sake of fun, where DAP shall put their Malay candidate that could let PKR, PAS and UMNO kill off each other?

  7. Zaid and DAP are two mutually exclusive creatures. Both are only okay if they keep their relationship at an arms length. Cannot imagine a very outspoken Zaid surviving in DAP’s all-in-a-family leadership cult culture.

  8. malays (DAP or the supporters) as a puppet? obviously. NIzar ex MB is the living proof!

    miss noor

  9. Dear Ong, again another typical Pakatan fanboy’s tactic – playing racial card and accusing everybody else as racists.

    1. Ohh…okay. I just realized it clearly can be seen from the title itself ” bertanding atas tiket…”.

      sorry for the misunderstanding.
