New AG aware of the evangelical groups’ doings

Former Federal Court judge Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali has been named Attorney-General as of yesterday, said Bernama in a news flash this morning. See Astro Awani report.

Justice Apandi had previously sat with Justices Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahim and Mohd Zawawi Salleh in the Court of Appeal to hear the Church’s application for a judicial review on the ‘Allah’ case.

The coram, in their judgment delivered on 14 Oct 2013, found for the government and upheld the need of the authorities to preserve public order.

Justice Apandi, in his written judgment paragraph [35], said:

“On Article 11(4), Professor Dr. Shad Saleem Faruqi in his book entitled ‘Document of Destiny the Constitution of the Federation of Malaysia’, published in 2008, at pages 138-139, wrote:-

“Propagation of religion to Muslims: Under Article 11(4) of the Federal Constitution, non-Muslim may be forbidden by State law from preaching their religion to Muslim.  Many Muslims complain that this part of the ‘social contract’ is not being observed by some evangelical groups, some of whom are from abroad.   On many occasions in recent years news has spread like wild fire that thousands of Muslims have converted or are waiting to convert to Christianity.  Invariably this raises tensions.”

APANDI ALI

Aunty Hannah predictably sniped … and what else is new

And below is Madame Know-It-All’s self-righteous squawking at the Court of Appeal decision.

Apandi, who is replacing Abdul Ghani Patail as AG, is a former Kelantan Umno treasurer.

@hannahyeoh tweeted in response, “… after this Court of Appeal decision? Still believe in working with Najib for transformation?” and picking on the staunchly Christian cabinet ministers Paul Low and Idris Jala.

Responding to Hannah in her timeline, Twitter account @GEanalyst said that Paul and Idris “have become paraya class” – see screen cap of their tweets below.

Hannah and her Jerusubang crowd are very free and easy in labeling others as “low class” and pariah.

Hannah Court of Appeal decision

paraya class

Evangelistas think themselves more just than the justices

Below is another response by the DAP evangelista Yang Berhormat to the Court of Appeal decision.

ong-kian-ming-songkok mugSerdang MP Ong Kian Ming slammed as flawed the judgment which had determined that the usage of the name ‘Allah’ is not an integral part of the faith and practice of Christianity.

According to YB Ong (pix right), its finding was based on “such weak legal grounds” and the judges had showed “a complete lack of understanding”.

Homing in on Apandi who authored the summary judgement, the DAP evangelista berated the judge for imputing that

“the usage of the word ‘Allah’ by the Catholic Herald is a potential threat to the peace and harmony which exists in Malaysia even though such a threat has never materialized in Sabah and Sarawak where Bumiputera Christians have been using the word Allah for generations!”

In Ong’s view, Apandi had rendered “a great disservice to the Bumiputera Christian community in Malaysia and the harmonious relations enjoyed by Christians and Muslims in East Malaysia”.

DAPSuperCyberbully

Evangelistas and their crusade to share ‘Allah’

Ong Kian Ming and Hannah Yeoh both have a notorious reputation as “DAP SuperCyber Bully”, so their rants against the bench were only to be expected.

YeoBeeYinTudungMugJoining the Bash-the-Judiciary bandwagon subsequently was newcomer Yeo Bee Yin (pix right). She is the DAP evangelista Adun for Damansara Utama, where the infamous DUMC church is located.

YB Yeo had fulminated at the 23 June 2014 subsequent Federal Court decision to reject a challenge to the ban on Christians using the word ‘Allah’ in the church publication, The Herald.

A very close split decision

In the 4-3 decision, the four judges who decided against the church were:

  • Chief Justice Tun Arifin Zakaria
  • Court of Appeal president Tan Sri Md Raus Sharif
  • Chief Judge of Malaya Tan Sri Zulkefli Ahmad Makinudin
  • Federal Court judge Tan Sri Suriyadi Halim Omar

The three judges who decided in favour of the church were:

  • Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak Tan Sri Richard Malanjum
  • Federal Court judge Tan Sri Jeffrey Tan Kok Wha
  • Federal Court judge Datuk Zainun Ali

YeoBeeYin

Yeo Bee Yin: “Catch me if you like, charge me if you can”

Aside from telling Perkasa and other Muslim NGOs that they had won their “holy war” and should therefore “go celebrate”, Yeo Bee Yin also congratulated those others of “Allah’s soldiers” whom she believed must be having a “happy time” after winning “a war for Allah”.

She congratulated too the four judges who dismissed the Church’s application for leave to appeal, saying to them, “if you made this judgement to protect your own religion, congratulations for sacrificing your professionalism”.

For the rest of her press statement, see ‘Congrats to Allah’s soldiers‘ (FMT, 24 June 2014).

The DAP evangelistas have been very uppity with the judiciary. In her statement slagging Perkasa, the Federal Court judges, the Home Ministry as well as Umno – see screencap below – YB Yeo issued a dare to the authorities – “catch me if you like, charge me if you can”.

Well, let’s see what happens now that Ghani is no longer the AG and there is a new man at the helm. And one who is cognizant of how the evangelistas operate.

Congrats to Allahs soldiers

  1. Gani Patail claimed he wasn’t given ANY advanced notice for his sudden dismissal as the AG.

    Im not actually a fan of Gani, but his sudden dismissal smacks dirty hands on the works.

    Now the million ringgit question is, will Muhyiddin be dropped from the cabinet?

    Johor UMNO will mengamuk, that will include ME!

    And for the new AG, good luck working for Najib.

    1. re: “Johor UMNO will mengamuk, that will include ME!”

      Shahrir Samad has been backing Najib of late.

      And I thought Khaled Nordin is in the PM’s camp?

        1. Jangan saja cakap tanpa pengetahuan.

          1. Sorry, tak faham. You punya kias-kiasan terlalu bertindih, saya kurang faham. Does this mean you agree or disagree with Setem’s opinion?

            1. I don’t agree with the statement that “Khalid (sic.) is backing dpm driven the latest development.”

              I don’t agree because the statement was obviously made without knowledge of his intention.

              And it’s not right to say so and so support who when you do not know anything about it.

              There’s no kias kiasan. TMJ did ask Johoreans to stay united. He had made his statements clear to all, and could be read in newspapers too. I just reiterating that.

              As for Setem’s opinion, I’m also not a fan of Ghani Patail. But his removal was unconstitutional. It’s also wrong to remove him when he was tasked to head the task force to investigate 1MDB. So I agree with Setem’s opinion.

              As for Najib, as long as he heads BN, anything that goes against BN will now get my support until he is gone.

              1. Thank you for your clarification. I also don’t agree with Gani’s termination at this time. And while I would like to see Najib replaced, I’m not ready to abandon BN yet.

  2. Setem, I’m no Umno member but if you people mengamuk over the new cabinet can I join?

  3. PM said rombakan untuk mengukuhkan kerajaan. Huh more like mengukuhkan kedudukan dia sendiri.

    (Sorry, Helen. Need to sound off.)

    1. Adik Boss Helen(Annie) masih belum recover dari keadaan ni … saya pun belum boleh cakap banyak2 … rasa mual.
      re: ‘… more like mengukuhkan kedudukan dia sendiri’
      That’s for sure tapi dalam masa yang sama mungkin ter’open’ a new war front.

  4. Well my wife, a Muar native, is fuming now. Mark my words, Johor clans wont take this lightly

    1. Damage control by giving two Johoreans, Azalina(minister) and Nur Jazlan(deputy minister) as tokens for losing a DPM. I just wonder whether that will be enough to prevent the ‘fumes’ in Johore from catching fire.

      1. These two, not in the same league. Azalina has gone past her “use by” date and Nurjazlan is seen as a Malay liberal.

    1. re: “Najib your days are numbered”
      Already getting his hands full with ‘1MDB numbers’. Might as well bull’doze’ through the ‘other types of numbers’.

      1. Methinks with today’s maneuvers, he will keep his head above water.

        The oppo are just “all sound and fury signifying nothing”. They will rave and rant but in realpolitik terms, the bongo-bongo drum thumping will not translate into anything effective that will be able to shake Najib from his perch until the voting public decides in 2018.

        1. Wow wee … so no bongo-bongo, maybe some rhumba-rhumba or just plain smooth sailing within Umno? Hmmm … ‘money well spent’, I guess(sorry … tried very hard to refrain myself from going overboard but still need to blow off some hot air, though).

        1. In retrospect, I now believe that Tun Razak did right in locking him up for inciting May 13, and likewise Dr M ISA-ing him for instigation of racial tensions in 1987.

          Unfortunately Grandpapa Dapster’s several detention stints in Kamunting did nothing to cure or curb his nature. It’s no wonder he’s mentoring Mama Dapster. Birds of a feather.

          1. Opportunist as always. These lot sure hell are a lot of greedy. Using the same scenario, can bn selangor as opposition coerce pas to topple the pkr-dap coalition state government? Surely they will cry and shout that bn is playing dirty and taking advantage of the situation. Dap is the most double standard party with no dignity at all.

        2. LKS is the happiest man today. He can actually taste Putrajaya, he is that close to realizing his dreams. You can actually feel his exuberance in his tweets and blog. He has launched his move to call for a Parliament sitting to get his vote of no confidence against Najib. You can tell he is seriously hoping to set up a government of his choice by 16/9, hari keramat bagi puak pembangkang.

          So Mr PM, that’s quite a belated birthday present you’ve given yourself today. I get that he doesn’t have a choice with the TPM, who had to go after the Cheras speech, but Gani, Shafie, the Special Branch boss? And what’s with the appointment of Nurjazlan, Mas Ermiety, Reezal Merican and Wilfred into his cabinet? Is that reward for the good job done being on the PAC?

          Maybe it’s the pahlawan bugis strategy but I can’t help wondering if the PM has pinned himself to the corner with this move.

          1. re: “He can actually taste Putrajaya, he is that close to realizing his dreams. You can actually feel his exuberance in his tweets and blog.”

            Yup, he’s getting very blatant. The Malays can sense the gloating too. His exuberance will cause them to batten down the hatches and further encourage the Malay unity huddle.

            re: “He has launched his move to call for a Parliament sitting to get his vote of no confidence against Najib.”

            Like how he previously called for the setting up of a tribunal to investigate, and triumvirate to rule in place of Najib. He non-stop opportunism is getting on my nerves. Btw, Aunty Hannah is proving herself to be an excellent understudy of Grandpapa.

            re: “You can tell he is seriously hoping to set up a government of his choice by 16/9, hari keramat bagi puak pembangkang.”

            But we still recall their last shot at Sept 16 and how that went.

            re: “Gani, Shafie, the Special Branch boss?”

            Gani is two months and a week short of his mandatory retirement at 60. The SB chief is 62 and has only three weeks more to go before his extended annual contract expires on Aug 17. Shrug…

            Never figured Shafie Apdal to be a standout minister. And now the Aman brothers get to be bigger warlords.

            re: “Maybe it’s the pahlawan bugis strategy but I can’t help wondering if the PM has pinned himself to the corner with this move.”

            Good that he had the gumption to make such a bold strike. I’ve been hankering for a War General to lead the BN. Remember what I said previously, i.e. that if he manages to survive this crisis, then he’s going to emerge as someone who’s got spine. If he’s weak and indecisive, then he’ll sink.

            The option of not being bold is not on the table. The PM wields tremendous power (of incumbency) actually. Only that thus far, Najib has not tapped into the wide array of power that is at his disposal, and has been willing to allow a number of things to slide.

            1. True, he needs to be bold. But in Najib’s case his timing has always been faulty. He could have nipped the 1MDB issue in the bud two years ago, but he chose to ignore the grumblings. People have been upset with Gani over Bersih, Namewee, Alvin and a host of other issues. There were calls for his contract not to be renewed but Najib ignored and terminating Gani now does not look good.

              And the PAC guys appointments at this juncture … If we ask for Tony Pua to be dropped from the PAC because of his bias on the 1MDB issue then it follows that these 4 should be dropped too over their appointment. This, if it’s about perception, can be spin by LKS and party to the moon and back.

              1. re: “He could have nipped the 1MDB issue in the bud two years ago, but he chose to ignore the grumblings.”

                True. He could also have nipped the evangelical triumphalism in the bud before they grew to be the monsters that they are today. Instead, he allowed them to have a free rein – and even launched their Peace & Harmony banquet in YTL’s 5-star hotel – and in the process, permitting the evangelical Christians to bully the rest of Malaysia.

                It’s not Umno that’s standing up to the evangelistas, it is Isma.

                re: “People have been upset with Gani over Bersih, Namewee, Alvin and a host of other issues.”

                TMI‘s sedition against the Council of Rulers, no action. Allowing Alvin to abscond. And why is there no news on Haris Ibrahim’s sedition charge?

                re: “There were calls for his contract not to be renewed but Najib ignored and terminating Gani now does not look good.”

                Yeah, gaffe-prone.

                re: “This, if it’s about perception, can be spin by LKS and party to the moon and back.”

                What LKS does best. Salleh Said Keruak will be a better Communications Minister han Shabery.

                1. There you go. It looks like doing too little too late. And that’s why I wonder if he’s painted himself into a corner.

                  One thing for sure, there’s never a dull moment in Malaysian politics.

                  1. re: “There you go. It looks like doing too little too late. And that’s why I wonder if he’s painted himself into a corner.”

                    He’s got three years to claw back public support. Internally, Umno will close ranks behind him from now on.

                    re: “I wonder if he’s painted himself into a corner”

                    He adroitly extricated himself from the corner that he was in.

                    Today shows that Najib has dug into his reserves and he’s got more steel than anyone ever suspected. Maybe the Tun Razak in him is coming out.

                    1. Right, we’re definitely looking at this differently.

                      Yes, Umno may be closing ranks, but public support is another issue entirely. He’s gonna have to put on an Iron Man suit just to get through the 1MDB issue and if resolved in his favour, that issue will hang over BN in the next GE. He’s going to be depleting the goodwill his father collected to get through that issue with the kampung folks alone and what’s he gonna do with the urban voters?

                    2. re: “but public support is another issue entirely.”

                      Agree. Najib has been allowing the sneaky bastards to get away with their sneakiness (misinforming, distorting, spinning, lying) for far too long. That’s why I was so thrilled when Rahman Dahlan was appointed BN strategic communications director.

                      https://helenang.wordpress.com/2015/07/17/best-news-weve-had-in-years/

                      And now we’ve got the new appointment of Salleh Said Keruak who surely is an improvement over the lacklustre Shabery Cheek.

                      re: “He’s gonna have to put on an Iron Man suit just to get through the 1MDB issue”

                      It looks like he will.

                      re: “and if resolved in his favour, that issue will hang over BN in the next GE.”

                      Yes but perception also plays a part due to the complexity of the issue. It’s a business thing and rather complicated.

                      Malays got more upset over the issue of an RM800 mobile phone sold in Low Yat than over the billions involved in 1MDB transactions.

                      re: “He’s going to be depleting the goodwill his father collected to get through that issue with the kampung folks alone and what’s he gonna do with the urban voters?”

                      Again I can’t disagree with you. Like a gazillion other Malaysians, I’ve been upset at Najib over a long laundry list of grouses. Najib must not lose the urban Malay voters to the DAP but how to stanch the hemorrhage?

                      For example, how did the BN machinery allow HY to go unchecked to the point that today she commands a Twitter following of 114,000?

                      And worse still, it has been the BN machinery itself like The J-Star that had been actively promoting her.

                    3. ‘Malays got more upset over the issue of an RM800 mobile phone sold in Low Yat than over the billions involved in 1MDB transactions. ‘

                      Tak lah Helen. Malay are equally upset for both for different reasons. Otherwise why do you think the call for najib to resign is trending?#najibletakjawatan

                      ‘Kini #najibletakjawatan menjadi ‘trending’ di media sosial terutamanya di Facebook dan Twitter.’

                      http://www.ismaweb.net/2015/07/hashtag-najibletakjawatan-mula-jadi-trending-di-media-sosial/

                    4. …..‘Malays got more upset over the issue of an RM800 mobile phone sold in Low Yat than over the billions involved in 1MDB transactions. ‘…

                      Taklah gitu Cik Helen.

                      My sons and his friends from overseas monitoring too. What pissed them off are the Apeks reaching out and conspiring with ‘foreigners’ to meddle with our nations internal affairs.

                      Dah melampaui batasan.

                    5. “Thatís why I was so thrilled when Rahman Dahlan was appointed BN strategic communications director.”

                      Good luck. He will be no improvement over his predecessor. And Najib has just made things worse with the putsch of Muhiyiddin Yassin. Not that the opposition has any love for the ex-Deputy Prime Minister

                      “For example, how did the BN machinery allow HY to go unchecked to the point that today she commands a Twitter following of 114,000?”

                      How not? The BN machinery were more interested in attacking big targets such as Anwar, Nurul Izah, Azmin, Lim Guan Eng, and the late Nik Aziz. A state-level politician is the least of their priorities.

                      And how would one check her from reaching over 100,000 followers on social media? Ban Twitter?

                    6. re: “He will be no improvement over his predecessor.”

                      Really? And who was Rahman Dahlan’s predecessor that you had in mind?

                      re: “And Najib has just made things worse with the putsch of Muhiyiddin Yassin.”

                      One step back in order to take two steps forward.

                      re: “Not that the opposition has any love for the ex-Deputy Prime Minister.”

                      They’re hailing him a hero now.

                      re: “A state-level politician is the least of their priorities.”

                      In June 2013, Hannah Yeoh was named the 6th most influential woman in Malaysia in a Top 10 list – which Madame Speaker acknowledged and tweeted her blushing thanks.

                      re: “And how would one check her from reaching over 100,000 followers on social media? Ban Twitter?”

                      For starters, the J-Star need not have specifically promoted her Twitter like crazy – see below. The J-Star editors sent out DOZENS! of tweets over their official paper tweet handle ‘The Star Editor’s Choice’.

                      They could have promoted someone from BN – say a Puteri Umno or Beliawanis MCA – instead. And secondly, Aunty Hannah was definitely given a whole lot more publicity than the MCA ministers.

                      One example – HY had two mooncake-lantern events in Subang Jaya and both were given coverage … over the weekend, if I remember right. Both were given extensive coverage by the MCA paper.

                      Chua Tee Yong (Dr Chua Soi Lek’s son) – at that time Deputy Agriculture Minister – also had a 1Malaysia autumn festival event in a Chinese school in PJ. No coverage!

                      Also recall that when Aunty Hannah was made Speaker, the J-Star editors were so drunk with joy that they tweeted the glad tidings a total of 10 times over the paper’s official Twitter account in the short span of 24 hours – see below. Even big, breaking stories never got that level of promo.

                    7. The Star newspaper’s posts about Hannah Yeoh only had a small handful of retweets and favourites, if it is not only one retweet. Clearly not the reason that she has a large number of followers.

                    8. It may not have been retweeted extensively but the J-Star Twitter today has 578,000 followers. In 2013, it’d have been less but still considerable.

                      And here I the particulars of the coverage / non-coverage I referred to:

                      (i) Chua Tee Yong @ 1Malaysia Mooncake and Lantern Festival 30 Sept 2012 at SJK (C) Yuk Chai in Petaling Jaya – no coverage by The J-Star.

                      (ii) Here’s the J-Star double coverage on Aunty Hannah’s participation in Lantern Festival on the same weekend, http://thestar.com.my/metro/story.asp?file=/2012/9/29/central/12091647&sec=central

                      http://thestar.com.my/metro/story.asp?sec=central&file=/2012/9/28/central/12076025

                      As for the Taman Medan interview, here:

                    9. “It may not have been retweeted extensively but the J-Star Twitter today has 578,000 followers. In 2013, it’d have been less but still considerable.”

                      “(ii) Here’s the J-Star double coverage on Aunty Hannah’s participation in Lantern Festival on the same weekend,”

                      A minor article about a Lantern Festival???

                      I rest my case.

                    10. Hullo, two long articles covering Hannah Yeoh’s involvement in Lantern Festival in Subang Jaya.

                      No article for MCA Deputy Minister at 1Malaysia Lantern Festival in Petaling Jaya the same weekend.

                      This bias by the J-Star newsroom is not just over mooncake and lanterns but cuts across all events and issues. The reporters there are evangelistas.

                      Why should you be surprised? If 90 percent of Chinese are anti-BN, then the same ratio would apply to the talent pool and staff in a Chinese-dominant organization like the EvangeliSTAR.

                      Don’t you recall Calvin Sankaran also telling us that the Chinese in his office have Ubah paraphernalia and other stuff (probably screensaver or whatnot) swamping their work stations?

                    11. “Hullo, two long articles covering Hannah Yeoh’s involvement in Lantern Festival in Subang Jaya.
                      This bias by the J-Star newsroom is not just over mooncake and lanterns but cuts across all events and issues. The reporters there are evangelistas.”

                      A lot of lunacy over a Lunar Festival event. Hannah Yeoh was just mentioned in one sentence in one of the two articles. And of course they will mention her. The event is in her own constituency.

                      “Why should you be surprised? If 90 percent of Chinese are anti-BN, then the same ratio would apply to the talent pool and staff in a Chinese-dominant organization like the EvangeliSTAR.”

                      That is pretty crazy logic to use. More than 50 percent of Malaysians voted against the government, so therefore the same ratio applies everywhere right? Utusan newspapers must have around 40 percent opposition supporters among its staff, right?

                      “Don’t you recall Calvin Sankaran also telling us that the Chinese in his office have Ubah paraphernalia and other stuff (probably screensaver or whatnot) swamping their work stations?”

                      Does Calvin work at The Star?

                    12. re: “And of course they will mention her. The event is in her own constituency.”

                      The 1Malaysia Lantern Festival, graced by MCA’s own Deputy Minister in the EvangeliSTAR’s own homeground (Petaling Jaya) held the same weekend, did not merit a write-up in the MCA’s own paper.

                      The bias reeks from the very pores of The J-Star.

                      re: “Utusan newspapers must have around 40 percent opposition supporters among its staff, right?”

                      The politics of hate, most unfortunately addles the brain of the Chinese DAP supporters. BN supporters are more balanced and less biased.

                      re: “Does Calvin work at The Star?

                      Calvin works in Penang and that’s the situation there in the DAP state.

                    13. “The 1Malaysia Lantern Festival, graced by MCA’s own Deputy Minister in the EvangeliSTAR’s own homeground (Petaling Jaya) held the same weekend, did not merit a write-up in the MCA’s own paper.”

                      “The politics of hate, most unfortunately addles the brain of the Chinese DAP supporters. BN supporters are more balanced and less biased.”

                      BN supporters usually turn everything into an us-versus-them race religion issue. Malay this, Chinese that, Indian that. Hardly balanced.

                      “Calvin works in Penang and that’s the situation there in the DAP state.”

                      You earlier said The Star’s own homeground is Petaling Jaya. That is pretty far from Penang.

                      Red herring aside, does Calvin work for The Star?

                    14. re: “Your search skills must be very subjective, no?”

                      Hullo. Don’t behave like an evangelista lah and putar sini belit sana.

                      Look at my sentence again: “The 1Malaysia Lantern Festival, graced by MCA’s own Deputy Minister in the EvangeliSTAR’s own homeground (Petaling Jaya) held the same weekend, did not merit a write-up in the MCA’s own paper.”

                      The two urls you gave are J-Star stories on MCA Lantern Festival. But I never claimed that the EvangeliSTAR coverage was “zero”. I was specific – (1) MCA Deputy Minister, i.e. Chua Tee Yong did not get coverage, particularly when the event was billed as “1Malaysia”.

                      I was also specific that it was the SAME weekend where The J-Star gave Hannah Yeoh’s lantern event extensive coverage. And I was specific that both events were held in Selangor (one PJ, one SJ).

                      I had made an apple-to-apple comparison between one young DAP politician and one young MCA politician. You make a comparison to a big-time Tourism Malaysia lantern event launched by the Prime Minister! Sheeeesh, for the sake of tegakkan benang basah, you people are willing to drive to Holland.

                      re: “BN supporters usually turn everything into an us-versus-them race religion issue. Malay this, Chinese that, Indian that. Hardly balanced.”

                      I won’t deny or dispute that BN is race politics. That was the formula the various communities themselves chose back in the 1950s Merdeka decade. Don’t forget, Umno president Dato’ Onn Jaafar gave his party’s Malay members and the MCA Chinese a shot at one unified multiracial party by offering to open up Umno.

                      He was ahead of his time was rejected by both the Malays and the Chinese who chose the Tunku and Tan Cheng Lock’s “Umno for Malays”, “MCA for Chinese” methodology.

                      And now DAP is demonizing the communal formula. But just because DAP loudly proclaims to be colour blind and beyond creed doesn’t mean that it is. DAP Chinese are way more racist.

                      re: “You earlier said The Star’s own homeground is Petaling Jaya. That is pretty far from Penang.”

                      Yup, in Phileo Damansara. The place is like Gotham City. But the paper was born in Penang. And Penang is the most Dapsterish state in the whole of Malaysia.

                      re: “Red herring aside, does Calvin work for The Star?”

                      Are you simply being annoying?

                      So you ignored the other Star newspaper reports on 1Malaysia lunar lantern festivals also attended by MCA leaders in the paper, and just focused on the absence of reporting of one particular event to prove your lunar-tic theory. Do you also use a lacquer painting of a unicorn bathing in a pool with a rainbow at the end to prove that rainbow-riding unicorns really exist? See what I mean by selectively choosing..?

                      “re: “BN supporters usually turn everything into an us-versus-them race religion issue. Malay this, Chinese that, Indian that. Hardly balanced.”

                      For a party that is “way more racist”, they seem to have more Malays joining them recently. Meanwhile, I doubt Mukhriz will be accepted if he applied to switch to the MCA.

                      How does using the example of one person who works and lives hundreds of kilometres away in Penang, but likely does not work at The Star, support your claim about the MCA-owned The Star paper?

                    16. I did not give the Calvin example to support my claim about the EvangeliSTAR. I said Calvin’s description gives us an idea of tahap ketaksuban kaum Cina terhadap DAP demonstrated in an office workplace.

                      And a unicorn is way too pretty for you. To example you, a mule – cross between a donkey and a horse is more fitting. Mind you, the combo is more donkey DNA than horse.

      1. Helen,you got a mention by one of Hannah’s followers on twitter today. You were referred to as “nut job”. Not bad, you’re finally getting recognised.

  5. The new AG’s biggest problem will not be the Malaysian Christians, but the other factions within Umno loyal to Tun Mahathir and the now-former Deputy Prime Minister.

  6. After the shocking events of today and the possible implications for ALL Malaysians, THIS is how you choose to spin it? Well done, Helen! DS Najib would do well to take you on as a full time government blogger.

    1. If I were a gomen blogger, I’d have been defending 1MDB these past few months.

      You think those walking the corridors of the 5th floor Bangunan Perdana Putra are the least bit interested in Aunty Hannah and Jerusubang topics meh? I’ve never even heard a single Umno minister mention anything about the evangelistas.

      And why are you shocked at today’s events? The rumours have been strongly circulating a couple of weeks already. One should expect the Empire to Strike Back.

      You can’t expect Najib to allow Muhyiddin to kickstart a momentum whereby the Umno divisions begin to take the same tone in their AGM as the DPM.

      I try to assess realpolitik as it is being played out – it takes practice and training to be detached and objective. (I’m practising and improving my mental capability in this area.) There’s no point following the herd and simply regurgitating the popular bromides.

      1. re: I’ve never even heard a single Umno minister mention anything about the evangelistas.

        Then why you keep on selling the idea of ‘Dap evangelism on the Muslims’ like masuk masjid, berpuasa together, kalimah Allah etc? Shouldn’t Malay Muslim Umno ministers be concerned as well?

        1. re: “Then why you keep on selling the idea of ‘DAP evangelism on the Muslims’ like masuk masjid, berpuasa together, kalimah Allah etc?”

          Because I tumpang the concern that the creepy Christians have – since earlier days – been freaking out the Chinese state (province) governments in China. Orang Melayu jer tak sedar-sedar lagi dan masih berlengah dalam mengambil tindakan dan langkah pencegahan.

          re: “Shouldn’t Malay Muslim Umno ministers be concerned as well?”

          There’s been a cabinet reshuffle. There are new Umno cabinet miniters. I shall continue trying.

          1. Re: “orang Melayu jer tak sedar-sedar lagi dan masih berlengah dalam mengambil tindakan dan langkah pencegahan.”

            Do you know why?

            The Malays are wise people that best described by these words of wisdom:

            “I try to assess realpolitik as it is being played out-it takes practice and training to be detached and objective. (I’m practicing and improving my mental capability in this area.) there’s no point following the herd and simply regurgitating the popular bromides.

            ~~~ Book of TCSS ~~~”
            1. Okay, am still (like a Jedi) in training. I’m training every day. I shall improve :)
        2. Well, we’re glad she does. If any Umno guys or Malays or Muslims were to raise the evangelism issue, the issue would be drowned by the downpour of “racist” calls from the evangelistas. Check with Isma, Ridhuan Tee, etc
          1. The irony that my not being a Malay and a Muslim is such an asset in this particular instance.
            Perhaps what you say could be the very reason why those creepy Christians are so determined to spread the ‘Helen Ang Abdullah’ rumour.
          2. POSTSCRIPT:
            Need to add, “racism” – the standard accusation thrown by the DAP evangelistas – does not come into the equation at all when the Chinese authorities in China take action against the Chinese born again Christians in their country.
            It’s just that the Chinese officials are convinced that their fellow Chinese countrymen caught in the clutches of a brainwashing, foreign-imported religious cult are a menace to Chinese society.
            1. Re: “I have never heard a single UMNO minister mention anything about the evangelistas.”
              Do you know why?
              Because many people, UMNO ministers included, are having the attitude best described in these words of wisdom:
              “I try to assess realpolitik as it is being played out-it takes practice and training to be detached and objective. (I’m practising and improving my mental capability in this area) There’s no point following the herd and simply regurgitating the popular bromides.
    2. A little while ago Helen was backing Tun Mahathir’s faction. Now she pitches her tent in Najib’s camp. Interesting to observe.
      1. (1) Tun supported TMI ! I’m urging that the publication be shut down. We’re at opposite ends here.
        (2) Muhyiddin (Tun’s faction) supported The Edge. I believe that if the authorities are able to nail the two media barons – Tong and Ho – over the Justo conspiracy, then Sg Buloh should welcome them for a stay.
        There are lots of issues that are contended. I don’t have strong opinions on all. But wrt media matters, I do express my views firmly. I’ve already listed TMI‘s mile-long fitnah against every possible target (incl. Majlis Fatwa, Mais/Jais & Jakim) and I’ve declared that they’re dajjal.
        Najib supports TalentCorp, GMM and NUCC. I don’t like them but I’ve never complained that these organizations are dajjal.
        Tun supports TMI. The portal is dajjal, period.
        1. ‘Tun supports TMI.’
          Not all lock stock and barrel Helen. Hal 1MDB saja!
          Tak ingat ke Tun M anak beranak pun pernah jadi mangsa TMI. Dan sekarang TSMY pun dijulang hero media pembangkang sebab depa sakit hati kat Najib saja.
          Tun M and I’m sure TSMY pun takkan lupa semua tu.
          1. re: “‘Tun supports TMI.’ / Not all lock stock and barrel Helen. Hal 1MDB saja!”
            True. Tun is the consummate political animal. He supported TMI out of expedience b’cos its 1MDB coverage suited his agenda.
            But don’t lah claim the editors were hauled up for 1MDB stories when they had actually been questioned over a false and seditious claim they made about the proceedings in a mesyuarat Majlis Raja-Raja.
            1. ‘But don’t lah claim the editors were hauled up for 1MDB stories when they had actually been questioned over a false and seditious claim they made about the proceedings in a mesyuarat Majlis Raja-Raja.’
              Agree. Maybe the timing made it to appear so to him. But then again. Looking at the way some people cuba nak tutup bangkai gajah, kes Raja-Raja mungkin a good excuse kut. Hope not!
      2. “(1) Tun supported TMI !”
        “Tun supports TMI. The portal is dajjal, period.”
        “(2) Muhyiddin (Tun’s faction) supported The Edge.”
        So you switch support just because they expressed something positive about these two media outlets, despite far worse hijinks from them. Interesting.
        So now we know, all it takes for Helen Ang to turn around and attack you, is to mention or do something that puts The Malaysian Insider and The Edge in a positive light. You can have far worse qualities, and have done far worse disgusting things, that is ok, but god forbid you praise these two media outlets and other perceived enemies of hers.
        Not the first time though. Khairy was frequently slagged off in this blog after he hired Regina Lee.
        “and I’ve declared that they’re dajjal.”
        Oh, so you are an Ayatollah now? What other fart-wahs do you have in mind?
        1. re: “just because they expressed something positive about these two media outlets”
          (a) No. Tun misrepresented.
          He said the police arrested the TMI editors b’cos the portal had been carrying 1MDB stories. That’s not true. The police were responding to a police report by the Majlis Raja-Raja. It’s unprecedented for the ruler’s council to complain about media. Let’s see if the new AG will pursue the sedition charge more seriously.
          (b) Muhyiddin was giving a backhanded slap to his cabinet colleagues when he said, “If not The Edge, then which source can be trusted for 1MDB reports”.
          After all, the Home Minister has already suspended Tong’s newspaper for three months. For Muhyiddin to legitimize The Edge is tantamount to undermining Zahid.
          The Ministers were all provided with a written brief on the 1MDB issue. Or Muhyiddin could have asked Finance Minister (II) Husni Hanadzlah for a more detailed or specific report if he felt the cabinet briefing was inadequate.
          Plus it looks like The Edge broke the law, which the media barons have admitted as much because they’ve already confessed to receiving the industrial espionage data from Justo.
          re: “So now we know, all it takes for Helen Ang to turn around and attack you, is to mention or do something that puts The Malaysian Insider and The Edge in a positive light.”
          Given my reasonable explanation above, it’s clear that you’re as usual being over the top.
          re: “You can have far worse qualities, and have done far worse disgusting things, that is ok, but god forbid you praise these two media outlets and other perceived enemies of hers.”
          I don’t go around jaga tepi kain orang if they have worse qualities or do disgusting things. I’m trained in journalism, got Bachelor’s degree and worked in the industry before, so it’s perfectly within my scope to have a professional opinion on the operations of the media, i.e. TMI and The Edge.
          I don’t menyibuk bidang lain macam Finance or Engineering.
          re: “and I’ve declared that they’re dajjal.” / “Oh, so you are an Ayatollah now? What other fart-wahs do you have in mind?”
          Next “fart-wah” – AC-DC smells bad and his mouth stinks to high heaven. Wait for me to gazette this ,)
        2. “Plus it looks like The Edge broke the law, which the media barons have admitted as much because they’ve already confessed to receiving the industrial espionage data from Justo.”
          So, are the documents that apparently prove mismanagement in 1MDB with billions and billions of ringgit involved, real or fake? Najib’s reaction to the 1MDB issue has only raised more questions, what more with this recent sacking of Muhiyiddin Yassin.
          “I don’t go around jaga tepi kain orang if they have worse qualities or do disgusting things. I’m trained in journalism, got Bachelor’s degree and worked in the industry before, so it’s perfectly within my scope to have a professional opinion on the operations of the media, i.e. TMI and The Edge.”
          How funny. Yet you jaga tepi kain orang lain with lots of articles smearing Hannah Yeoh and Christians.
          “I don’t menyibuk bidang lain macam Finance or Engineering.”
          But Religion can. Sampai boleh keluarkan fart-wa fart-wi macam Ayatollah.
          1. re: “How funny. Yet you jaga tepi kain orang lain with lots of articles smearing Hannah Yeoh and Christians.”
            You all tooooooo creeeeeeeeeepy and crawling under people’s skin. A province Zhejiang in China alone had 1,200 crosses removed from churches and hundreds of church buildings demolished over the past 1-and-1/2 years.
            Evangelistas are freaking out the Chinese.
            1. ‘ A province Zhejiang in China alone had 1,200 crosses removed from churches and hundreds of church buildings demolished over the past 1-and-1/2 years. ‘
              Bab ni Helen, I’m sure si Rithmatist dah summons White House pi serang China!
                1. Looks like the creepy Muslims are freaking out the Chinese in China, HH. Helen conveniently failed to report this. Objective my arse!
                  1. I’m not denying that the China authorities are repressing the Uighurs. For that matter, they’re repressing the Buddhists in Tibet too. China is an equal opportunity repressor.
                    Nonetheless comparatively, they’re not demolishing hundreds of mosques and hundreds of monasteries. Only hundreds of churches had been demolished in the last year.
                    Secondly, Xinjing and Tibet are both outlying regions that have been annexed by China. It’s different with the “nutjobs” (to borrow your word) who are the evangelical Christians.
                    While the Uighur Muslims are concentrated in Xinjiang and the Tibetan Buddhists are concentrated in Tibet (both minority ethnics), the nutjobs whom Beijing perceives as an existential threat are their own Han ethnic in the heart of the country.
                    As for your arse, you can go back to licking your Jerusubang Aunty’s.
                2. Notice how Helen labels the Chinese government’s actions against Muslims and Tibetian Budhists as ‘repression’, while actions against Christians are labelled in a positive light?
                  Truly her double standards and hypocrisy at work here.
                  1. I said the gomen of China is an ‘equal opportunity’ repressor. Beijing probably feels all three to be threats – the Uighurs, the Tibetans and the evangelistas.
                    However going by the number of church demolitions, it is the evangelistas who are felt to be the biggest threat to the Chinese government.
  7. In Msia, we have a distorted concept of public administration. Not only the sitting PM refused to step aside temporarily pending an investigation on the 1MDB issue and allow the DPM to take over, he even terminated the service of the AG (one of the taskforce members) and drop the DPM in cabinet reshuffle. By right, all positions shall be retained status quo pending the outcome of the investigation.
    Some may argue that if PM steps aside and allow the DPM takes over, the latter may use this chance to unseat the former by influencing the investigation. Well, such argument cannot be dismissed completely. But need to look at the cardinal principle of conflict of interest. How can the taskforce investigate independently if the PM (i.e. the subject of investigation) is still authoritative over the taskforce? On the balance of probability, it is better for the DPM to take over rather than having the PM to continue sitting in office.
    The termination of AG and DPM together with the appointment of PAC members into cabinet prove that the opposition has been correct in demanding the PM to step aside or even resign. The PM has clearly interfered with the investigation. No wonder we hear stories of abuse, wastage, corruption etc in the Auditor General Report yearly but no action taken on the culprit. If the No. 1 in the government has no accountability, what can we expect from the civil servants?
    1. re: “By right, all positions shall be retained status quo pending the outcome of the investigation.”
      Where does it spell out in the law and regulations that the individuals must be kept in their positions when work (investigations) is in progress?
      re: “But need to look at the cardinal principle of conflict of interest.”
      The DPM might have an interest in making the acting PM job something more permanent. There is a conflict of interest.
      A parallel scenario: Salleh Abas was suspended as Lord President. Tun Abdul Hamid who headed the tribunal on Salleh had a vested interest in the case’s outcome. Likewise if Najib were suspended, Muhyiddin would have a vested interest in the outcome of the 1MDB case. “Conflict of interest”.
      re: “How can the taskforce investigate independently if the PM (i.e. the subject of investigation) is still authoritative over the taskforce?”
      How can the taskforce investigate independently if the wannabe new PM (i.e. Muhyiddin who had a vested interest in the case’s outcome) as – hypothetically – the acting PM were to be authoritative over the taskforce?”
      re: “On the balance of probability, it is better for the DPM to take over rather than having the PM to continue sitting in office.”
      On the balance of probability, Muhyiddin is just as self-servingly partial if not more. He said something to the effect only by reading The Edge could he clean the proper info. He forgets that The Edge bosses are themselves biased (Tong’s links to Anwar are well known) and implicated in crime vis-a-vis the criminal charges against Justo.
      re: “If the No. 1 in the government has no accountability, what can we expect from the civil servants?”
      You should employ your due diligence on the state governments of Selangor and Penang too.
      When PKR-DAP were trying to oust Khalid Ibrahim, they threw a number of charges of corruption against his administration. They also leaked Khalid’s lack of accountability, e.g. the MB’s appointment of his people to get big gaji buta at PKNS and other state GLCs.
      And the latest, Khalid’s scandalously expensive golden handshake for Faekah, Arfa’eza & Gang. Azmin is objecting to the astronomical amount in compensation paid to them and has taken the matter to arbitration.
      1. re: Where does it spell out in the law and regulations that the individuals must be kept in their positions when work (investigations) is in progress?
        None. Not prudent to terminate the service of AG in the midst of investigation. Moreover, he is about to retire in few months time. Unprecedented for a top civil servant to be treated in such manner. Dangerous precedent. It may be repeated in the future.
        re: Tun Abdul Hamid
        This is provided in law. The next most senior judge will head the tribunal if the alleged offender is the Lord President himself. If not mistaken, he succeeded Salleh Abas after the latter is found ‘guilty’.
        re: the acting PM were to be authoritative over the taskforce
        Acting PM vs Sitting PM
        Who you think the 4 Tan Sri will be more afraid of?
        re: balance of probability
        Najib’s action vs Muhyiddin’s action
        Najib sacked so many people in his capacity as PM. Whereas Muhyiddin in his former capacity of DPM has called for investigation of 1MDB. Between the 2 and their actions, on the balance of probability who you think has the bigger conflict of interest vis-a-vis the taskforce doing the 1MDB investigation?
        re: due diligence on the state governments of Selangor and Penang too.
        Take Selangor as example. Khalid vs Azmin:
        1. Kidex highway. We know the people behind Kidex are Umno man. Tun Azmi and Hafarizam. Khalid agreed to it. Azmin terminates it.
        2. Water deal. Khalid took such a long time to finalise it. Azmin managed to finalise it. Credit must be given to Khalid for setting up the ground work. But people forget the history. It was Umno that privatised the water supply in Selangor to cronies that lead to the debacle.
        3. Expensive golden handshake. Khalid happily gave high salary. Azmin is suing to get the money back.
        4. Tropicana land deal. Azmin amended the agreement to make the terms more favourable to state government. Khalid sold the land cheaply with long payment period.
        1. re: “Not prudent to terminate the service of AG in the midst of investigation.”
          The investigation may take many more months if they’re going to do a thorough job, and drag on for years to see it through to the very end. Gani’s contract expires on Oct 6, so even allowing his tenure to run its natural course, it won’t be him closing the book.
          Plus, katakan he was not ‘dismissed’ (transferred) abruptly a few days ago, his contract would not extend either to cover the period required to put the investigation to bed.
          re: “Moreover, he is about to retire in few months time.”
          In 2-and-1/2 months time.
          Furthermore, it’s customary for retiring senior civil servants to be let off early, before their last day of work.
          re: “If not mistaken, he succeeded Salleh Abas after the latter is found ‘guilty’.”
          Well, if Najib were to relinquish his post as PM and Muhyiddin become acting PM, then don’t you think the latter would do everything within his power to ensure the former is found ‘guilty’, given the big prize that is at stake.
          The pattern would be the same. Muhyiddin would then succeed Najib.
          re: “Who you think the 4 Tan Sri will be more afraid of?”
          Don’t wanna speculate. Nanti dikata casting aspersions on the TSs’ character pula.
          re: “Najib sacked so many people in his capacity as PM. Whereas Muhyiddin in his former capacity of DPM has called for investigation of 1MDB.           Muhyiddin has called for investigation of 1MDB. He wants Najib sent to jail!
          If Najib is immediately removed pending outcome of investigation, Muhyiddin steps up to become acting PM. He’s the clear-cut and foremost beneficiary of any action taken against Najib. Ada conflict of interest? Hell ya.
          re: “Khalid agreed to it. Azmin terminates it.”
          DAP pressure kot? Khalid’s position as MB in his first term was more secure than Azmin’s. From a position of strength, the leader has a lot of leeway, e.g. Dr M and his spending the gazillions on KLCC and Putrajaya. Nobody could gainsay him.
          But in any case, Khalid was a Pakatan Menteri Besar. His bad decisions reflect on Pakatan.
          re: “Azmin managed to finalise it.”
          If he did not, PKR and DAP would lose some votes if we Selangor residents have to go through another round of water rationing.
          And Khalid was a Pakatan Menteri Besar. Our water woes was one of the reason we were grumbling about Khalid even though in other matters, he does not irk anybody due to his bland and low key personality.
          re: “Expensive golden handshake. Khalid happily gave high salary. Azmin is suing to get the money back.”
          It’s not the money Azmin wants. In the grand scheme of wasteful cronyism, the payout was ‘peanuts’ (relatively speaking). He wanted to kenakan Faekah. There’s longstanding bad blood between them.
          As for Khalid’s expensive spending, including giving the Selangor Speaker a salary almost matching the PM’s, his extravagance reflects on the Pakatan government.
          If Pakatan were ever to take over Putrajaya, they will be worse. They will pay their puppet PM a salary almost matching that of the S’pore PM nanti.
          4. Tropicana land deal. Azmin amended the agreement to make the terms more favourable to state government. Khalid sold the land cheaply with long payment period.
          1. re: The investigation may take many more months……….
            Why take so long? Issue is very simple. Whether 700 mil was deposited into Najib’s personal bank accounts as alleged by WSJ. So far, taskforce confirmed that the accounts were not frozen as they were closed earlier. Next question is as what I stated above.
            From my experience, the bank will have the way of recording credit transactions whether it is 7k or 700 mil. Moreover, banks are required to retain records for 7 years. WSJ allegation of money transfer happened in 2013. Surely the records are there. Just a simple yes or no to reply the WSJ allegation.
            re: his contract would not extend either to cover the period required to put the investigation to bed.
            At least allow the AG to retire in a normal way, not early termination of 2.5 months prior to mandatory retirement. He is a top civil servant.
            re: Muhyiddin has called for investigation of 1MDB.
            What is wrong with calling for investigation? Moreover, there are proper process of laws. Starts with investigation, prosecution, trial, defense, conviction, appeal and final appeal. If genuinely innocent, Najib should not fear being investigated.
            re: He’s the clear-cut and foremost beneficiary of any action taken against Najib.
            Agree. Whether Najib or Muhyiddin leads the taskforce investigation, there will be conflicts of interest. Hence, it is a matter of choosing the least conflict scenario. Based on what already happened (i.e. Najib axing people), it is very clear that having him as incumbent PM creates a bigger conflict. I don’t think you can take a hypothetical assumption of “Muhyiddin steps up to become acting PM” to justify Najib and discredit Muhyiddin.
            A case of Facts (Najib axing people) vs Assumption (Muhyiddin’s vested interest). Unless Muhyiddin really took over and he in turn axes Najib’s supporters. Then only you can justify Muhyiddin’s conflict of interest.
            Either way, there will be conflict scenario. The best is RCI. But no way Najib will agree to this.
            re: He wanted to kenakan Faekah.
            Disagree. Who is Faekah now? Powerless and with no official position. Azmin is now Deputy President of PKR and MB. With Anwar in jail and PR break-up, he has so much influence in the opposition bloc. Why still want to feel bitter with Faekah? He has bigger things to worry about.
            1. re: “Why take so long?”
              Why are you deliberately being recalcitrant?
              Any investigation takes time. The City Harvest Church was investigated May 2010 but Pastor Kong Hee was only arrested in June 2012. And you all always sayin’ as to how efficient S’pore is. Even till today (July 2015), the verdict on his trial has not yet been reached.
              re: “Issue is very simple.”
              Oh really? Thought it was rather convoluted.
              re: “Next question is as what I stated above.”
              Why are you pre-empting the law? Can’t you wait like the rest of us for the official results of the probe to be revealed?
              re: “Just a simple yes or no to reply the WSJ allegation.”
              Why should Malaysia, a sovereign country, be answerable ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ on demand to a neo-con foreign publication?
              re: “At least allow the AG to retire in a normal way, not early termination of 2.5 months prior to mandatory retirement. He is a top civil servant.”
              Aiyoh, already said. It’s custom to allow senior people a grace period of leaving a bit earlier. They’re not usually made to work until the very last day.
              re: “What is wrong with calling for investigation? Moreover, there are proper process of laws. Starts with investigation, prosecution, trial, defense, conviction, appeal and final appeal.”
              So why don’t you respect the law and allow due process? Rather than (not you but Bersih 4.0) announcing street demos to topple a democratically elected gomen.
              re: “If genuinely innocent, Najib should not fear being investigated.”
              If you’re so sure that Najib is guilty, then you should not fear the official results of the investigations nanti.
              re: “I don’t think you can take a hypothetical assumption of ‘Muhyiddin steps up to become acting PM’ to justify Najib and discredit Muhyiddin.”
              Neither can you take your hypothetical assumption of Najib’s guilt to get ahead of the official investigation and discredit the GOM vis-a-vis pressing for a reply to WSJ. The S’pore govt under LKY sued WSJ and needless to say, won their case.
              re: “A case of Facts (Najib axing people) vs Assumption (Muhyiddin’s vested interest).”
              Najib acted well within his prerogative as chief executive. The Cabinet serves at the pleasure of the PM.
              re: “Unless Muhyiddin really took over and he in turn axes Najib’s supporters. Then only you can justify Muhyiddin’s conflict of interest.”
              The phone recording of his ‘backstab’ at Najib – the very brief clip with Mukhriz inside – was “leaked”. Yang tu dibuat suka-suka jer, meh?
              re: “The best is RCI. But no way Najib will agree to this.”
              Don’t sound like LKS’s understudy pls. You’re better than that.
              re: “Disagree. Who is Faekah now? Powerless and with no official position.”
              How do you know what is Azmin’s niat and real feelings about Faekah? Let’s just look at his actions, okay.
              He’s not letting the golden handshake payments slide but instead pursuing it at the expense of casting a negative light on his predecessor PKR administration.
              By kicking up a fuss, Azmin has opened the can of worms to the light of day, and those of us who didn’t know before are now aware of how extravagant the Selangor Pakatan gomen is with public money.
              Azmin’s action is like menconteng arang di muka Khalid and ultimately he himself as leader of the currrent state administration akan kena tempias juga.
              re: “Azmin is now Deputy President of PKR and MB. With Anwar in jail and PR break-up, he has so much influence in the opposition bloc. Why still want to feel bitter with Faekah? He has bigger things to worry about.”
              You talked to Azmin and he told you all this?
              1. The WSJ is “a neo-con” foreign publication?
                “foreign”? Yes.
                “neo-con”? That will be news to Rupert Murdoch who has never apologised for his views. The newspapers in the News Corp stable do have a fair degree of editorial Independence. As does the Fox News TV channel.
                And why be apologetic about being “neo-con”? It’s the “neo-cons” in the US Establishment who advocate a push back against an expansionist China and taking on militant Islam.
                The Singapore government sued the WSJ and won. In a case that was argued in open court. It has not prevented excellent Singapore-US relations, has it?
    2. Kenapa terburu2 sangat ni. Saiful kena tunggu bertahun2, Anwar naik kapalterbang kehulu kehilir you all tak suruh dia resign as Pakatan penasihat pun?
      Wait la. Investigations on going. Sabar boleh tak?
    1. Like I’ve said before, I don’t really have a head for business and 1MDB is complicated to me.
      Usually my interest is from the journalism/media angle. Hence I was appalled when Tun defended TMI and spun it kononnya its editors were hauled up by police for questioning because of the portal’s reporting on 1MDB.
      The truth of the matter is that TMI was in trouble because the Majlis Raja-Raja lodged a police report.
      Likewise I was appalled to hear The Edge praised by Muhyiddin = “If not The Edge, then which source can be trusted for 1MDB reports, asks Muhyiddin” (words of an oppo portal) headline.
      The Edge bosses are being investigated by police. They and their publication is biased. Not a ‘SMART” move by TSMY.
