Kenyataan akhbar Wanita MCA

Seperti biasa Star mensabotaj

Apa sebenarnya muslihat Star?

Nampaknya MCA lepas tangan sahaja.

Liputan tentang ketua pembangkang Selangor, iaitu Adun Umno Mohd Satim Diman, hanya 13 rencana.

  1. In my view, The Star has been like lallang ever since Ops Lallang… always going for what is perceived as “best-sellers” for their market segment.

This is why panty theft, vice raids and underaged incest tend to be most-read or most e-mailed stories on The Star Online.

  2. Sikap The Star seperti ini lah menyebabkan orang Melayu sukar mempercayai orang Cina. No sense of loyalty, even to their masters (or perhaps condoned by their masters – MCA).

  3. Akbar The Star = Sudah Terbukti Amat Rosak ! MCA, bila engkau nak buang akbar The Star ?

    1. I have to disagree with you on this particular point.

Huaren is ultimately a business out to make profits. Same as for all businesses – BN, PKR and DAP cronies included.

The country needs successful businesses to drive the economy. Every person needs some form of faith system for their own sanity, and communities need leaders to serve and protect their folk. This is why commerce, religion and politics should ideally be separated.

Malaysians as a society still have some way to go to reach maturity in political consciousness. May the day come sooner rather than later.

      Joe,

Concur that Star is the most profit-hungry beast, hence the Ramadan pork ribs debacle. Its compatriots Utusan & NST have seen their sales slump too but Utusan as far as I’m aware has not lalang-ed like Star. I’d agree with bisu’ (Comment #2) about the Chinese expediency – it’s this Star-like behaviour that gives rise to the stereotype of the ‘Cina Pek’ who’s willing to sell his daughter/wife/mother/grandmother if the price is right.

      Helen

      1. Now, surely there must be a limit to all this profiteering. Now, with the impending demise of the MCA, if the MCA is politically finished, what’s the use of all these profit ?

Unless of course, the MCA intends to transform itself into a political lobby similar to those in the USA where these lobbies provide funding to politicians and in return the politicians become the proxies of these Special Interest Groups.

So enlighten me on this, is the MCA planning to transform itself into a Special Interest Group like Aipac in The USA and they need the profits from their media ventures to fund their lobbying work ?

      2. Helen: I think stereotyping is a sad form of laziness, but human nature is human nature.

AI: what is the use of profit without political status, indeed… :D

  4. The Chinese in Malaysia don’t have to worry. Heads I win, tails you lose. If PR wins the Chinese will benefit. If BN wins sans MCA candidates, UMNO will, as always, ensure that there would be more than sufficient Chinese representation in the govt through the infamous back door, the senate.

The Star’s current posture is not , by any means, inconsistent with the surreptitious MCA general stand. The tikam belakang by the Star on UMNO is in actuality done with the tacit approval of the MCA. Otherwise how does one explain the MCA’s deafening silence with the Star’s flagrant cohabitation with the ‘enemy’?

  5. Helen, I just read that a famous Singaporean blogger, called Xia Xue, was vilified online via Facebook because of a photo of her face painted with PAP logo surfaced online. She was being called with a lot of names, until she unveiled the photos who those Facebook hate commentators in her blog. I would thought this was quite similar to what has happened to you. See here, here and here.

    1. Thanks.

Facebook and Twitter which are widely employed by DAP and other opposition supporters (e.g. Bersih, Aliran) have played a major role in fomenting hate online. Their capacity for spreading slander and venom is difficult to check because social networks are a closed system hosting self-selecting (i.e. like-minded Facebook) participants, and some Twitters are protected accounts (such as Chan Lilian’s).

This ‘anything goes’ situation is further exacerbated by open forums such as Malaysiakini and Malaysia Chronicle that brook no dissenting views among their highly lopsided audience.

There’s one school of thought among pro-establishment Malaysian bloggers that suggests taking the course of ignoring these vile and vicious stone throwers.

In my opinion, it’s already bad enough that we are targetted by DAPsters in those areas of cyberspace where we have no access and thus will not be aware of the lies being perpetrated daily about us.

Therefore, I hold that the libels made in open fora should be countered by us the affected bloggers.

But even so, the DAPster mud flow is a torrent and the little that I’ve highlighted on the FMT commenters is but a drop in the ocean against the immense damage that their mob mentality and herd instinct have wrought.

Anyway, a BIG THANK YOU to all readers here for providing the buffer zone that allows me to continue blogging in the face of the constant DAPster harassment.

  6. Helen,

The big question what MCA is doing about STAR. Not doing anything will cost MCA the most important voters: the Malays who vote MCA just because of its association with UMNO.

I hope Dr Chua is not stupid enough to insult the life-line of MCA (UMNO) by tolerating nonsense from STAR. I hope he is aware that goodwill must not be taken for granted. The fact that Bandar Tun Razak was won by a Malay politician, albeit from PKR is a sign of thing to come. Not to mention a Malay politician won Kuantan.
    ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

True. ‘The Scissors’ is cutting MCA’s lifeline. But collateral damage will accrue to Umno in the form of wasted Johor/Malay-majority seats. Hence Umno must firmly convey the message. Why still no news report on the alleged libel against that MCA minister by the paper’s pin-up girl? — Helen

  7. Helen,

I hope Najib will wise up. Time to baby sit MCA is over. Many constituents were lost to PR not because Malays hate UMNO but rather they want Malay politicians to represent Malay majority area.

MCA must come out of comfort zone. Meaning battling DAP the way UMNO battle PAS in Malay heartland. No point for MCA to win in Malay areas but loses to Kit Siang in Ipoh.

By contesting in Chinese areas only, MCA is sending message to chinese there is no 2 way about it. Reject MCA and Chinese will have no representative in cabinet.

“No Chinese reps in govt”, isn’t the die already cast? — Helen

  8. Helen,

As I said earlier, it takes two to tango. At some point, Chinese must response after numerous attempts by Najib and UMNO.

Remember, goodwill needs to be nurtured. Facts that BN lost where non Malay politicians contested in Malay areas such as Pasir Panjang, Kota raja, Bandar Tun Razak, Kuantan, Teluk Kemang, Lunas are examples of how Malays are telling UMNO to stop this nonsense.

If UMNO still in its trademark generosity unlimited, well be prepared to see seats fall to Malay politicians although they are from “pembankang”.

And for MCA, the only way to earn the respect is to confront DAP point blank. It can be done if MCA tells the Chinese that the only way for them to guarantee their interests is by working with Malays ( model BN) not by overlording the Malays depicted by DAP controlling PR.
    _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

    Shamshul,

The BN formula has unravelled. Najib is canvassing direct the Indian community, something past Umno presidents never did.

MCA unable to deliver seats or Chinese votes to BN candidates. The party can’t even save itself from its own Scissors.

The message has to percolate upwards from Malay bloggers to Umno politicians to hammer the message into MCA’s comatose head.

    Helen

  9. Helen,

yup. And the best way is by showing in election. underestimating Malay sentiment( by fielding non malay in Malay area0 will result in BN loses the seats.
