MCA members jump ship

Is anyone even surprised?

The Malay Mail front page today carries the banner headline ‘Membership bombshell’ and the following sub-headings:

  • “Senior leader claims almost half of one million MCA members dead or jumped ship
  • “Study to cleanse MCA membership list shot down”, and
  • “Party leaders afraid membership would be smaller than MIC or Gerakan”

MMbombshell

The Malay Mail is yet another pro-Pakatan newspaper in keeping with the extensive control exerted by the opposition over the English language media in Malaysia. Refer, ‘Akhbar arus perdana The Malay Mail adalah versi cetak kembar Malaysiakini‘.

The Malay Mail report quoted MCA secretary-general Kong Cho Ha as downplaying the issue, however, in saying the subject of phantom members only cropped up during party elections and was often “brought up by people with vested interest”.

Kong Cho Ha is referred to as “donkey” by his party’s media. See, ‘Star reporter called MCA sec-gen a “donkey”?

Making an ass out of Umno

With reference to the Malay Mail report that a senior party leader is claiming that “almost half of one million MCA members [are] dead or JUMPED SHIP“, it is not that such contentions haven’t surfaced before.

Former MCA strongman Jimmy Chua Jui Meng had previously claimed that there would be an exodus of MCA members following the GE13.

What is left of the MCA today is in the grip of the DAP saka. As a result, the rump ‘MCA Ubah-ed’ is now daily attacking the BN on a whole slew of issues.

Endless possibilities? No, only dead certainty

If Umno does not wish Najib Razak to go down in history as the last Malaysian Prime Minister to have come from the party, then Umno members must demand that MCA be held accountable for its media mouthpiece backstabbing the BN.

This is a compulsory topic for Umno delegates to raise at their upcoming general assembly. Otherwise it will not only be a mere possibility that BN might lose GE14 but a dead certainty should the current treachery be allowed to continue unabated.

Why? As if he didn’t already know

MCA vice president Gan Ping Sieu (see screenshot, tweet below) suggests that instead of lashing out at the Chinese for lukewarm participation in official functions and celebrations, “we should look into its underlying cause”.

The underlying cause is simple. The Chinese are no longer attending official functions and celebrations because the MCA has very few members left.

Furthermore, the MCA-controlled media empire is playing the Politics of Hate and daily planting disaffection among its 5.63 million audience against the establishment.

Scissorati sultans of spin

MCA would be irredeemable if/once Chua Soi Lek is ousted as president. It is debatable how many of MCA’s current crop of leaders still possess the BN spirit.

Neither is the MCA of today the same party that was founded by Tan Cheng Lock. Today’s MCA is one that wants to give the Allah word to the evangelistas — read here.

The Sneaky Star epitomizes how the forked tongue evangelistas have successfully co-opted both these Chinese parties.

Operating the Battlestarship, the Scissorati have mastered the art of doublespeak where Bak Kut Teh is not pork, May 13 is not a race riot, the washout of the non-Malay BN parties is not a Chinese tsunami and the MCA is not a party whose members have almost all jumped ship and whose division chairmen internally sabotaged MCA’s own candidates during GE13.

  1. Now I have one question for you. When will the Malay language media fall under the spell of the Opposition ? I m being sneaky eh ? He he he !!!!!!!!

    1. Roketkini but it’s small scale. I’ve noticed the evangelista pollies try to sprinkle a few Malay words in their tweets aside from “Insya-Allah”ing away.

  2. “Party leaders afraid membership would be smaller than MIC or Gerakan”

As MCA is so unpopular, services like Micheal Chen should be closed. Let the CHURCH (Jerusubang) handle them. Keep things like the Star, RedFM and KTAR/UTAR and squeeze the cash.

I am sure the CHURCH with the 10% money can handle the Sekolah Cina. In the past the Methodist, Catholic etc church can maintain the schools with almost zero tithes (they use volunteers) they can open good schools, the CHURCH with their 10% money can even open good universities like the music university in Singapore. The great pastor can go and sing at the Grammys and spread China Wine. The gomen should not finance the Sekolah Cina as the gomen has their evil malay agenda to pollute good Chinese students. Sekolah Cina by the CHURCH will make sure Chinese students learn good value from Allah (JSubang version) and are ready to face challenges to develop and populate Australia, NZ, Canada and UK.

      1. Mulan. Absolutely brilliant. Your idea. The bongo bongo voodoo choral and dancing troupe RM 2 incorporated churches finance or subsidize the private Chinese schools which will no longer be a thorn in mainstream politics and de-politicised leaving innocent school children to pursue their studies. Absolutely brilliant. Now there is a reason for their existence through real contribution to the Society.

    1. Suggestion for banner.
“Join MCA and receive free Pork Free Ham Chin Peng for a year.
Offer still open when others finish their stocks.”

  3. Ms H. To keep matters simple for simpletons like myself, in order to sort out the mess in Malaysian Chinese politics, I strongly recommend that the now true BLUE formerly RED (Singapore) Singaporean Trojan Horse DAP (LKY Washington links) joins the BN as led by the UMNO with the 13 component parties and squeeze out the now bright RED (Beijing) formerly BLUE MCA (KMT). In reality, it is just a change of names and the BN is strengthened +++ !

For the DAP there are a few thousand jobs available for the boys and girls, left vacant by the MCA. What is the DAP rank and file waiting for ? And the Pearl of the Orient ? Etc. etc ? Your spiritual leader the brilliant Lee Kuan Yew with his 10 failed Policies for Singapore has already hinted in his latest collections of oracles Page 164 On Malaysia’s PR and PAS.

I would not recommend you to strike before the MCA AGM !

  4. Our wonderful Star On Line has a good article from our learned MP of Bayan Baru home of wonderful products like Intel. Perhaps the donkey MCA mama’s boys can learn a thing or two from him.

“If you came from an aristocratic family or your father was an imam or priest, and if everyone in the village knows your grandfather’s story, congratulations, you were definitely an ideal candidate. The best case is if you are born into political family. And if your father or father-in-law was a former prime minister, minister or local party warlord, you definitely have the best chance to be a candidate. Ah, I forgot to mention, you have got to have lots of money too.

Oh, that was so Barisan Nasional.”

We should not support Gerakan as they discredit our beloved leader of Penang who loves us evermore.

“The Seri Delima assemblyman challenged Chang to prove that Lim Guan Eng only sides with the rich and makes decisions without the approval of the state executive councillors and state planning committee, as alleged by Chang in a speech at the recent Gerakan state polls.”

We should be happy that our great leader is rich with love and is willing to share us all the Penang lang. He is not selfish as he shares his love even with the ungrateful Barisan supporters in Penang. Gloria to our leader supremo,

    1. Mulan. You are brilliant ! With an absolute sense of humour unlike that H0 ! My greatest fear about the BN as led by the UMNO with the 13 component parties is that sometimes their leadership lose their BEARINGS (they could’nt tell a hospitable Malaysian from a kiasu Singaporean) AND SELL MY GRANDMOTHER DOWN RIVER FOR SINGAPORE DOLLARS AND PAP CHAPS ARE PARACHUTED INTO GOOD OLE KUALA LUMPUR LOOKING FOR LOW HANGING FRUITS !

      1. Mulan. Not only that, a PAP cadre was installed as the Chief Editor of the New Straits Times with a luscious SIME DARBY contract placed on his lap to ease his sufferings in the Ulus.

  5. “……then Umno members must demand that MCA be held accountable for its media mouthpiece backstabbing the BN.”

And how does this help UMNO, exactly ? As it is most Pakatan supporters are oblivious to the pro DAP stance of the Star and indeed view the rag as a pro Establishment mouthpiece. Muzzling the Star or sanctioning the MCA just gives more ammo to Pakatan. Besides the Chinese have abandoned BN, so it matters very little the role of the Star as a BN mouthpiece.

So what’s the next play ? Kicking out MCA and taking over the mouthpiece. Good luck with that. I’m sure nobody would care certainly not the Chinese community that the MCA is out in the cold and while the Star’s circulation numbers may be ok-ish, it remains to be seen how it would survive with the mentality of Utusan.

So the only thing left is closing down the Star, which would mean that there would be people out of work, money would not be soaked up by the MCA or finds it way to the UMNO coffers and the blowback from this would be more bad press for the 1Malaysia PM.

The MCA and Star backstabbing BN is the least important issue that UMNO has to deal with. Which is not to say they will be dealing with any of them in the upcoming sandbox fight.

    1. re: “As it is most Pakatan supporters are oblivious to the pro DAP stance of the Star”

All the more subtle the brainwashing.

re: “and indeed view the rag as a pro Establishment mouthpiece”

Sometimes yes. The J-Star is lalang bending to expediency in addition to its bipolar disorder.

re: “Muzzling the Star or sanctioning the MCA just gives more ammo to Pakatan.”

Pakatan takes potshots at everything. It doesn’t need genuine reasons for them to use anything as ammo. After all, they can conjure up 40,000 Bangladeshis and fortuitous blackouts.

re: “Besides the Chinese have abandoned BN, so it matters very little the role of the Star as a BN mouthpiece.”

Only half of The J-Star’s readership is Chinese. Of the remaining 50%, a quarter are Indian and other quarter Chinese. Plus the foreign press corps read The J-Star (they don’t read Utusan or SinChew) as well as the paper has a wide marketing reach and extensive corporate networking.

So what’s the next play ? Kicking out MCA and taking over the mouthpiece. Good luck with that.

re: Kick out the MCA, yes, for several reasons. When MCA is no longer in the BN and an ostensible ally of Umno, then automatically The J-Star overtly becomes like Malaysiakini (which it covertly is). Recognising the paper for what it truly is rather than what it pretends to be will enable the BN to operate more optimally.

re: “the blowback from this would be more bad press for the 1Malaysia PM”

After Altantuya oh my Mongolia endless possibilities, how can the press get any more bad for the 1Malaysia PM than what he has already endured? Hasn’t his wife been subjected to the pit of bottomless bad press and what worse can the Dapsters say about her? A swift blow to the MCA is nothing compared.

re: “The MCA and Star backstabbing BN is the least important issue that UMNO has to deal with.”

On the contrary. The Sino-Malay contestation is a duality and Utusan-The J-Star a binary. Do you see any chance of the Dapsters halting their attacks on Utusan</em? Yet Utusan is to Umno what The J-Star is to the DAP.

      1. Re: All the more subtle the brainwashing.

Well the difference between the 1Malaysia and Bangsa Malaysia bromides are negligible when it comes to the question of brainwashing.

Re: Pakatan takes potshots at everything. It doesn’t need genuine reasons for them to use anything as ammo. After all, they can conjure up 40,000 Bangladeshis and fortuitous blackouts.

Yes but genuine reasons makes it more difficult for an opposing political party to mount a successful counter offensive.

Re: Only half of The J-Star’s readership is Chinese. Of the remaining 50%, a quarter are Indian and other quarter Chinese. Plus the foreign press corps read The J-Star (they don’t read Utusan or SinChew) as well as the paper has a wide marketing reach and extensive corporate networking.

I don’t get your math here but even so, if the Star is the MCA’s mouthpiece only the Chinese demographic matters. The last time I checked the Foreign press corps also read the NST. The wide marketing reach and extensive corporate networking serves an economic purpose which is benefical to the business community, which also enables the MCA to live of the fat.

Exactly how will the BN operate more optimally when they recognize (if they don’t already) the paper for what it is ? The BN now sans even the fig leaf of Chinese representation, will have to
rely on who exactly in this Sino – Malay dialectic? I don’t think the Star is even covertly like Malaysiakini but the BN’s performance has been anything but optimal when it comes to the latter.

Re: After Altantuya oh my Mongolia endless possibilities, how can the press get any more bad for the 1Malaysia PM than what he has already endured? Hasn’t his wife been subjected to the pit of bottomless bad press and what worse can the Dapsters say about her? A swift blow to the MCA is nothing compared.

True but then again it can get from bad to worse. And to be honest I do want to see the formal dissolution of the so called power sharing formula.

Re: On the contrary. The Sino-Malay contestation is a duality and Utusan-The J-Star a binary. Do you see any chance of the Dapsters halting their attacks on Utusan</em? Yet Utusan is to Umno what The J-Star is to the DAP.”

And yet UMNO neither needs the Star nor MCA to maintain hegemony and the only time it power is ever in danger, is when the party is split and not when the Chinese are untied (MCA or DAP).

    2. Reverse psychology. Cara halus nak keluar BN. Buat cara rasmi, sudah tentu PM Najib terkedu…

    3. Mungkin nanti semua Cina Malaysia masuk kristian cara benar. Semua kena tukar identiti subangites dan bangsar-ngites. Sekarang ramai anak cina hanya nama tukar nama kristian tetapi amalan Buddha masih dekat di hati.
